I agree with you about Jacquemus. He designs for the south of France summer party girls. It's an attractive sexy style but of limited use on a daily basis.
Vivian To if you going to a pawn shop to sell it than yes they deal with it only in weight. And if so it’s not light! But when selling it you sell it as Cartier and only lose about a thousand which for me is worth the cost per wear.
@@eleawanis1732 I've seen it on consignment pages for alot less depending on condition. I guess it's different everywhere cause some of the jewelry stores i know buys it back in weight of gold. - a %
I totally agree about the fine line between cool/edgy and ridiculous. Would love a video with tips on how to avoid looking ridiculous but still have fun and be edgy. I have struggled with this in the past with my personal style. Love your content and style!
Love your hair! You were spot on. The thin line between fashion and ridiculous is indeed thin! My jumbo flap is at least 6 years or more old. Around 4000 euros I think. I’ll never buy another one. The love bracelet... I just can’t fathom wearing it ALL THE TIME! I much prefer the classic JUC. It’s edgy and bold but super sophisticated at the same time. Stack it with a trinity and it’s perfect!
Such good points! Especially about the Chanel flaps.. I mean.. even if they’re in different colors... I feel like ones collection is so boring to have the exact same bag (maybe different in size) but different colors. I love their seasonal bags! So much more interesting.
The deauville tote is fantastic, it has shoulder straps which makes it way more versatile in my opinion. Also it’s been around for years now so is pretty classic compared to the Dior. Some of them are quite delicate and maybe not great in rain etc but there are so many finishes including leather. Mine is denim and isn’t heavy at all.
Binging on your videos right now! I had a tough time choosing between the white Dior saddle and the book tote. Your points about the book tote were my exact sentiments as well. It is absolutely beautiful to look at but not the most practical to use. I ultimately went with the white saddle as I felt I needed something unique but iconic in my collection. Then I saw in your other video that it was on your summer wishlist. You must be my style soulmate!!💛💛💛
I agree with everything you mentioned on this list especially Chanel classic flap and the Cartier love bracelet. The love bracelet was on my wishlist for quite some time now, but honestly, I just cannot justify the price. i said the same thing you said. when i was considering both items. For me, I would rather put in the extra cash and get a Hermes bag.
agree 100% with your opinion of Jacqemus, love the look, but the practicality is not there. I am looking for design AND function. Also, wondering how you feel about pre-owned fine jewelry (Cartier)? I am onboard the pre-loved train, however there is a bit of stigma with jewelry- would be interested to hear your thoughts.
My Cartier Tank Solo watch has been one of my best luxury purchases, I thoroughly recommend it. For me, I still adore the BV Pouch but I know I wouldn't be happy with the resulting cost per wear!
Bought the cartier love bracelet a couple weeks ago and I am a MD so I can not wear it all the time. Nevertheless i love it So much that I bought the Juste un Clou a couple days after.. love them more then bags..it is a gem on your arm
I have owned both the deauville and the book tote and the book tote is the better option hands down! The deauville was heavier than the jumbo!!! Crazy heavy I kept it and sold it after 3 wears. The book tote I sold because I didn’t like the print. When I see the right print I’ll go for it again. 💗
yes wait for your video again .you look amazing today. i agree with you about prada. i buy the re edition bag i sold only one time use because it really look very cheap i think this will not last forever . love your video from taiwan
Since you mention Cartier watch in this video, would love for you to do a video on watches... as is the case with handbags, watches can be quite timeless and 'quiet' luxury... are there certain luxury as well as mid-range brands that are on your radar? Love you videos - super inspiring :)
i’ll be curious to see what jacquemus comes up with in 3yrs or so, he’s an interesting one to watch. i’m totally with you overall, as my preference has always been for pared down designs & absent brand names. i see the dior book tote as a summer beach bag : great to put voluminous towels, some suncream, a couple of books & some snacks/ water. carry it from home to your car, drive to the beach & carry it to the sandy spot of your choice. the large size would fit bulky not necessarily heavy items. but it’s definitely not « me » either due to the branding style. whenever i see it being carried, i see dior the brand and not the bag. as for prada, i will never forget the sensation caused in the late 80s /early 90s when miuccia prada spoke about the parachute material used for her iconic backpack. it’s like chanel and tweed. but while the backpack can be considered a classic, none of the other bags are worth the hype in that nylon material.
I totally understand what you’re talking about, and agree with you on some of the items you’re listing here! The Dior book tote is just way too expensive for me, if I think of the use I would give to it (must say I have a couple of Chanel bags, that I use very often, so it’s not about expensive bags but about the actual use I would make from them). I do have a couple of luxury items in mind that I really love but that I just can’t justify the price tag... First of them, the Bar jacket by Dior. My dream blazer, but OMG, 3.500 euros for a blazer... no way. Second, the Iconic Lady coat by Max Mara. Beautiful, a statement piece, but again nearly 2.500 euros on a coat... And finally, a Burberry trench. I really love them, but I live in a city where winters are very cold and summers very hot, so there’s no spring or autumn to enjoy a trench coat. Sadly! Again thanks for your honest videos and the way you talk about fashion. In the times we’re living, I think your approach to fashion is one of the healthiest in the whole RUclips scenario. Please keep up posting! ♥️😘
Interesting :) I actually love this version of nylon bag from Prada! When I saw it, my first reaction was “finally they made smth really cool”. It’s been a while since Prada had a great handbag design (-come back-inspiration 😂). And I’m really in the process of considering it as a possible purchase. I’m positively sure that this bag would be worn thousands of times, so it’s not worthy of pulling the trigger. As for the chunky boots, I got a very similar pair (obviously inspired 😬) from Arket. Still expensive but a bit better price tag than Bottega’s. And as for Chanel... A few months ago I finally made it: I bought a classic vintage double flap (small). It actually really amazed me. It absolutely exceeded my expectations. If ppl put a condition “good” for smth like a crease from the opening a flap or purely the age... then I would rather buy Chanel vintage all the time now. It was a way more reasonable price that I could digest better than buying a brand new one.
I agree with the prada bag! I wanted the bag back when this video was made and I still love it! I use it all the time and I feel like it’s a classic understated black purse but has extra little details! I am 23 though so my style is more contemporary but classic. Less gaudy
I quit buying trendy or overpriced bags, I shop at Nordstrom Rack now for my handbags, I can usually get a designer bag for $500 - $600, I just picked up a beautiful Bottega Veneta Nodini for $500 that’s classic and not trendy, and a red Gucci Marmint Wallet for $150. If you like Burberry, Gucci, MCM, Stella McCartney, Chloe, the not so expensive but still designer brands I would look there. I’m over paying top dollar.
Hi, thank you for this video.I also like chunky sneakers, boots, etc. but I think they must really reflect who I am and I have to be very relaxed with them without any second thought. If they are in some way a little bit "too much" I do not feel completely comfortable and it reflects in whole appearance. What do you think in another trendy chunky boots - Prada monolith ankle boots? I will be happy to hear your opinion. Thank you.
I wonder if I would ever buy a Hermes bag. Because I have yet to see a hermes bag IRL. Do people wear it on the daily? It seems like an influencer bag that is used more as a prop for content than an actual bag people wear/use. A bag that influencers only take instagram/youtube videos with the bag and then put it back in its box to keep its value. The bag is ussually talked about as an invesent piece. Which would mean to retain it's value you would have to wear it as little as possible. Where is the fun in that?
Hello, do you wear your cartier rings 247? Do you remove those before handwashing and sanitizing? I really would like to consider getting a love ring... If ever I get one, I want to wear it all the time.
I fee the same way about the book tote! It’s beautiful but functionally seems like a nightmare. I love those Bottega boots! I just got the Prada monolith boots for the same reason, I’m a sucker for a beautiful boot and I love the chunky feel. I plan on taking the pouches off when the trend fades. I also have and adore the Cartier love bracelet. I don’t know if I would go out and purchase one right now though. The prices are crazy! 🤭😭
It’s great the you bring up hermes bag every time you’re planning to buy something close to 7K. But, hermes bag is not readily available, at least the one that holds value. You can’t go in and just buy one. You also need to calculate the cost of buying other products from hermes on top of the hermes bag. So probably close to 10K give or take if you’re lucky with a good SA.
A Cartier watch is a better choice. Those love bracelets unscrew at inconvenient times and for that money it shouldn't happen. I won't ever buy Chanel anything. They've lost their minds and I won't enable them. I love Marine Serre but everything is so tiny I can't buy it. Sadness... but my wallet is happy :) I love your chunky gold chain!
I think you’d wear the Cartier bravely more than any other jewelry item because you simply don’t take it off frequently. I have been wearing mine (2) for over 5 years. I don’t even feel them anymore!
I don’t know about the Prada Nylon Multi bag but I owned two Prada Nylon backpack years ago and it fades quickly. I would not spend that much for a nylon piece by them again.
I had my Cartier love bracelet appraised, and an equivalent weight in gold bracelet is actually not that much less. I was looking at a bracelet by a small designer that was similar in style and same weight and it was the same price-without the recognition of the name Cartier which helps keep its resale value. Jewelry is one item that really benefits by being crafted by a recognized designer. You get a much better price than jewelry of the same quality but with no name attached. So you might want to reconsider it!
Hi! Sorry, actually it’s not like this. In fact usually you pay more only because of the brand. There’s a reason why the unknown artisan told you almost the same price for a gold bracelet: in these days, due to the pandemie, the gold stock price in $ raised up like never before in the last century. This is the worst moment to buy a golden product, because, for the same article, you are going to pay minimum twice more than one year ago.
lullaghr i looked at this bracelet four years ago. It had nothing to do with the pandemic. I researched many different bracelets when I was getting my Cartier. When you compare ounce for ounce , the Cartier bracelet was very comparable.
This is very strange. Maybe it depends on the country and the city, too. In Italy you could have easily found something similar for much much less, without any brand of course, simply done by an artisan. Last July on the contrary I went and ask to make another one; not this model, but something completely different and small, with a very light weight. The price they told me was absolutely outrageous. I was shocked. This is how I learned about the increase of the gold value.
lullaghr i live in the USA, i don’t know if that has anything to do with it. The bracelet i looked the closest at was by a designer called Caroline Ellen and she wanted $11k for her version of a love bracelet. The problem is, if I were to resell it, nobody recognizes her name, but they do Cartier, and I’d get a better resell price. This was 4 years ago like I said. So the only reason to buy hers was to support a small designer. There were a couple others, nearly the same price as the Cartier. The only way to get a better price was to buy through the secondhand market, and i wanted a new piece.
No this is not really correct. Gold is gold and will sell no matter the culture or country. However, the name brand item will sell only amongst people who are looking for that brand, which is not everyone. I can sell my gold jewelry, custom made by my jeweller, for a good price or have it melted into another item of my choice.
According to lots of reviews, it’s not worth it. The coated canvas shows signs of wear on the corners just after few uses. And it’s not made to fit heavy daily essentials despite being a tote. It’s only made to be used at the beach🤷🏻♀️ I hope this helps
Maya Labey thanks for the informative review ❣️ I'm thinking to get it as my working bag since it can fit laptop. I think now I need to reconsider it and find better replacement that is not neverfull 😅. Thx Maya, have a great day 💚
I have two Cartier bracelets, trust me, they are a better investment then a Hermes bag. I never take mine off, I have two! One of them is more then 16 years old! Do not compare watch and jewelry to Hermes bags. U get wear and tear on bags, bracelets u can wear forever.
I would LOVE a Kelly 28 in malachite, but I refuse to pay that much for a bag. I also don't have a glamorous lifestyle at all so it's hard to justify. I also have several Van Cleef items I would DIE FOR but again, too much. (I'm talking about the pave ones.)
The gold price went up in the past few months that's why Cartier increased it. I make jewelry and increased all my gold prices since it costs me way more to make it.
When I had my love bracelet appraised, i mentioned that I had seen a similar bracelet from a little known designer that was almost the same price, and how I was surprised how little the difference in price was. He told me that Cartier is actually a pretty good price for what you get, especially since the name recognition helps keep the bracelet’s resale value high.
@@vanessabogaert2104 yes, Cartier is a good price and totally worth the investment. And you can't get that bracelet anywhere for a fraction of the price like she said lol You can get it cheaper if it's gold plated brass but not in real gold. Some people have no clue how expensive gold actually is and that you have to change your prices depending on how gold prices are.
Hi! I have to say that she is right, if we consider the price of gold before the pandemie: before it was really possible to find a similar item for the half of the price. I know it very well because some dear friends of mine as a jewellery shop since 60 years in Italy and they are also artisans. However, as you mentioned, the price now increased like never before and now it’s impossible to find any golden piece for something less. It’s not the right moment to buy from artisans and paradoxically it is better to buy from big brand, who can still benefit from economies of scale.
@@lullaghr yes, you could buy it for half price maybe 15 years ago. The gold prices have been high for the past 10 years. That Cartier bracelet is $6300 in 18k gold which is a great price. I would sell it for more. She said that it's not worth the investment and you could buy it for a fraction of the price from other jewelers, so she obviously she has no clue about gold prices or fine jewelry in general. And she keeps on highlighting the comments defending what she said instead of answering. Pretty pathetic.

Great video👍 I still think the Love bracelet is a very good investiment. It is expensive because it is 18k gold, pure gold. And it will scratch, as gold is a soft metal💓 If you see a similar gold bracelet in the market, also 18k gold, you see there is not big price difference👍 I have already two and I will buy my third one early next year😍 I just subscribed❤️ Liebe Grüße von der Pfalz 💓
Dior is having a surge in popularity in the very recent years. It's one of those to buy and resell while its hot. I remember when the Galliano era saddle bags and lady diors were
Paula Braga Borges if I had all the money in the world I would get one just to have in my collection but they don’t hold their value at all. They’re beautiful but there isn’t a hole in my collection at the moment they I think the lady bag will fill.
Yve Yve So do I, my gold is the 22 and 24k, it’s incredibly soft and malleable. I think your mums must be a lower percentage of gold 14 or less not to scratch. The only way not to scratch it is not to have a smooth surface.
@@smartipants123 You are correct, they are 14 and 18K (the latter scratching more than 14). Cartier bracelet is 18, softer gold scratch more. Good point.

One more question- Peter Do. I love the look of his designs- any experience with his clothes?
Hi Evelyn, I love your videos ❣️ What do you think about Goyard St Louis Tote? TIA 🙏🏻
Ditto. Love my 2 love brackets as well- my most worn items
I would LOVE a Kelly 28 in malachite, but I refuse to pay that much for a bag. I also don't have a glamorous lifestyle at all so it's hard to justify. I also have several Van Cleef items I would DIE FOR but again, too much. (I'm talking about the pave ones.)
Haha just got the part where you mention me. Hello! 😂
We miss you Evelyn !!
*have
@@lullaghr yes, you could buy it for half price maybe 15 years ago.
My opinion of you in the behinning was like okeey not superfun, not super quirky, not super loud... but interesting and informative please go on.
.... 1 month in - hmm oh hello again! Really starting to grow on me, liking the not so overdone-stressing personality, learning a lot of new things...
..... 2 months in: SOUCH A SMART, INTELLIGENT WOMAN WITH A BEAUTIFUL PERSONALITY AND INTEGRITY!! 😍😍😍❤❤❤ the dream big sister i never had!!
I would never buy a Cartier Love bracelet for myself. It’s meant to be a special token of love.💕
Great video👍 I still think the Love bracelet is a very good investiment. It is expensive because it is 18k gold, pure gold. And it will scratch, as gold is a soft metal💓
If you see a similar gold bracelet in the market, also 18k gold, you see there is not big price difference👍 I have already two and I will buy my third one early next year😍 I just subscribed❤️
Liebe Grüße von der Pfalz 💓
Miss you Evelyn! I hope you are well please come back to RUclips soon! 😢
For me it’s any Dior bag. They’re stunning but don’t hold their value at all.
Dior is having a surge in popularity in the very recent years. It's one of those to buy and resell while its hot. I remember when the Galliano era saddle bags and lady diors were
Even the Lady Dior?
Paula Braga Borges if I had all the money in the world I would get one just to have in my collection but they don’t hold their value at all. They’re beautiful but there isn’t a hole in my collection at the moment they I think the lady bag will fill.
Buy them preloved then, get the look and save the money
@@nordette I do to know how to see if is a fake or real bag, so I can't bye preloved I'm afrade to be scammed
I like your video. Dior tote looks nice in the picture, but irl it is an expensive beach bag. I don't understand a hype for Cartier.
Great Video but Hermes bags are not easy to get
Oh, of course, I am aware of that ☺️ I just wanted to emphasise on the value of the products in that comparison.
Ewelina, Twoje wlosy pieknie wygladaja!
Dziękuje bardzo 😊💓
Przy slowie Hermes nie wymawia sie H i S, czyli " erme"
Evelyn, girl, where are you ? You haven't posted a video in ages!!!!
I woul never buy a bracelet that I wouldn't be able take of , in a few secunds
3:20 so true 😂😂
I wish I had purchased the love bracelet 5+ years ago when it was like less than HALF of what it is now. UGG.
I’m kinda in between with Amina Muaddi shoes. I sometimes love them and I want a pair, and sometimes I don’t like them at all😂
I love Jacquemus but his designs are easily duped.
Buying Cartier alone is very crass ... used to be a good brand but it’s so saturated . Check out other brands
...and the Cartier bracelet scratches like crazy. That should not happen at that price! Good decision!!
Gold is a very soft metal, so it’s normal for it to be scratched. It can always be polished again
It’s a smooth surface, why do you think it wouldn’t scratch?
@@smartipants123 I own many gold bangles that were previously my mom's. I wear them very often and none have scratches like this bracelet!
Good point.
I don’t buy the book tote of Dior too 🤑 I don’t like the idea that the alphabet herself CD embossed on it.
Cartier bracelets are so uncomfortable 😔
LYXBAGS I love you so much and watching your videos makes my day brighter
