    could you do an updated luxury wishlist? it might be a good one to film while we're all stuck at home and dreaming of when we can actually wear our pieces out again!

    I made a mistake to buy a couple of bags at the outlet mall as well, before I knew they are actually manufactured for that market. I was able to sell them, since they were really nice bags but I just didn't like the thought of owning an item that is not sold in a boutique. However, since I own a couple of items that I bought in the Gucci boutique I could tell the difference in the details. Last time I went to the Gucci store at the outlet mall, I actually had a very nice SA who told me that the silk and wool scarves were the only piece that is sold at the boutique, too. She actually works in one of the Gucci boutiques in Venice, and that is how she knew and she was very nice to be honest with me about it. The top you wear in the video is cute, I have two tops that have those puffy sleeves, too, but they are not as fluffy 😊 I think that when fast fashion gets ideas from the Runway they tend to get "carried away" and enhance the characteristics of a particular item. Thank you for another great video! Ciao darling 🤗

    You are like the voice of reason to my whirling brain of "I want this, I need that!". Ultimately, there are too many bags and too little time/money/opportunity to wear them! 🤩 Many years ago, my cousin bought me a fake Jimmy Choo bag which was surprisingly good quality, but I just couldn't use it, I felt like it was glowing and shouting "fake!" every time I looked at it! I won't buy bags at outlets any more after learning about this practice a couple of years ago. Great video! ❤️

    These are great tips! I ask myself the same questions before making a luxury purchase and they have yet to fail me.
    However, I think I’m one of the few people who uses a Chanel medium classic flap as a versatile daily bag 😂 I‘m a light packer and my torso is short enough to wear it crossbody, so getting the most expensive bag first was a good decision for me.

    Speaking of outlet bags- I have noticed that certain resale sites like TheRealReal are currently accepting outlet bags/shoes/ect. and charging a regular price for them. I have a twilly type gucci scarf that I just got from the outlet for $50 as a gift for my mom, and the same scarf is on sale at TRR for $135. I haven't kept up with Gucci THAT much but I do know that most of the handbags and shoes in their outlet looked like they were made for outlet. The clothes seemed more expensive and I remember seeing them on the runway so I think those trickled down from the actual stores. I think your points on really making sure you do your research BEFORE purchasing is so important. The outlet stuff is really tricky.
    I also think buying that workhorse, more of an everyday type bag, is a good idea as well. My first designer bag is definitely more of an occasional bag, and I would've loved to use that money on a Celine Cabas or something I could've used more often.

  • @meghan4549
    @meghan4549 4 года назад

    Hmmm so I'm not into the super puff sleeve, but that's me. Completely agree on all points. My biggest tip would be to take a few weeks to think about the bag purchase - try it on, take pictures and look at pictures - if you're still into it then you know it wasn't just the hype or a random desire to buy something. I have made quick decisions on certain sale pieces, but only when I've considered them previously. I make a "wish list" at the beginning of the year and consider how much money I would be willing to spend given my current expenses. Of course it changes during the year as I get more inspiration, but it helps me focus on saving for pieces I really want over instagram trend bags.

    This video came right on time I have my eye on Chanel medium classic flap I was going to settle on ysl chevron flap bag just because they look similar and the prize is so much lower now that watching this made realize save more and just go for Chanel .....I usually go for FASHIONPHILE or the RealReal.....

    Tip # 8
    I agree. Do NOT buy a fake bag. However, BUY an inspired bag from the fast fashion/smaller non-designer brands. This way, you can try out how a bag with the same structure, shape, format fits in your lifestyle.
    I purchased a bag with the same shape and format as the Chanel flap from H&M and now I know that I am too paranoid to use that in public transport. "Flap bags" are way too "open" for me.
    I also tried a bag with the same shape and lock style as the hermes kelly from a local store. I now know that even if it is such a struggle to open and close that thing, I feel much secure and I dont tend to scratcg the lock with my nails bec I take the time to properly open /close it. Another one i ended up liking is a dior saddle bag - inspired bag from zara. It looks hideous (like your liver but outside) but it was the best thing to carry while running errands.

    I wanted a Chanel classic flap but they are so expensive and we see them everywhere (real or fake ones). So I wanted the square mini, it's so cute and I have a similar looking bag for +5 years without knowing it was certainly inspired from it. But due to the size I don't wear it often but sometimes it comes in handy. After that I discovered the trendy CC with all the attributes of the classic flap without beeing over seen, I fell in love. But I'm scared this might be a little "eye catching" to go to work everyday at my "young age" (I'm not 40/50 yo if you know what I mean). So the square mini only to go out might be a better option...
    And besides all of this at the moment I have my eyes on a Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM because I carry a lot and travel also, my bags are always too small (so I need it ?) ! Good thing is this bag is "cheaper" than Chanel... but you said it's not a good point ! Buuut it will suit my life style better at the moment !
    Sooo first the Neverfull then the Trendy CC if I understood the video well ? 😅
    And I'm also considering shoes and belts but that's another story 😂

    Hi Evelyn! I am looking at buying a pre-loved printed Gucci Dionysus as my first investment bag, even though I believe the bag is not very trendy anymore. :( But I love the design of it so its a big dilemma for me. Do you have any recommendations as to what is a more timeless piece to start of my collection? top looks great btw

      Hey dear, so since I am not familiar with your overall taste it is hard to give you recommendations, I can only tell you what I like.m personally. For me Celine bags were the best investment bags to start my collection (Cabas tote and Trio). But I also like the Gucci Soho Collection which is quite classic for Gucci. I hope that helps!

    It's crazy to me how people even a lot of youtubers will justify or defend buying fake luxury goods based on opinions and preferences. Like ya'll know it's illegal right? People's materialism is higher than their moral.

    • @miia8078
      @miia8078 4 года назад

      Values differ, not everyone values the copyright law above other factors. i'd argue that in many cases buying fake is more ethical.

    Omg awesome point about the outlets! I live local to an AMAZING outlet mall where there’s Burberry, Ferragamo, Gucci, Kate Spade, even a Saks Off Fifth (the outlet for Saks Fifth Ave) and others. Over the years I have noticed that some pieces are like so obviously outlet pieces that were never featured in a collection, that some of those pieces are actually pretty tacky. Don’t get me wrong though, I have ended up with some amazing impulse purchases that I absolutely adore!
