- come journey along as we try to give you some sort of convoluted update on this beast.
impressive to say the least what has been learned and applied to this car over the years and hoping we can get it into the high 8s and live. it has been extremely reliable going high 9s for two years, messing with the finer ends of the setup now cameron is chipping deep into the 9s. - Авто/Мото
I love the breakdown on the suspension's job it laying down the power. I have a lot to learn in that area.
Yep, some people try to lock the car down so nothing moves, but you need some give.
Matt, I really enjoy listening to you, because you're so modest and humble, and clearly having a great time. And the fact that you don't hide shit. Thanks for making awesome videos.
dude should go to one of those $50 dyno days and melt faces
What an intro! I'm glad I pre-packed a bowl before this!
Good looking welds on the cage. Nice core support, too.
No-prep reenactment was spot-on.
Data overlays were really cool to see. More of that, Matt!
"You can get a slippery converter that wont hurt anything, but wont go anywhere on the big end"..... My entire summer in a nutshell!!! Great video.
The well placed slowmo portions and the fact that the opening was done on a scooter... How much better could it get.
I like cars that launch a little soft, they don't break parts as often.
I saw a video of a guy named Joe Kosiba with a 63 Nova SS. The launches were funny cuz the tires would hit soft but then the nitrous would add a shit ton of power. Maybe tuning issues. I think Nick Scavo is the interviewer, he raced a 65 Impala in the 90s in NMCA?
@@grabasandwich That sounds about perfect to me. The whole idea of the soft launch is to give the driveline a chance to take up slack and load up before the huge power hits, that means for fewer broken parts.
Yeah. I'd rather blow away my 60 foot and have a car to drive home than blow away an axle and pay the fee to get a car towed the hour and change back to my house from the nearest drag strip. That's why I like street tires so much, you'll boil 'em away before you fuck up the car.
that’s why I like roll racing
Man this is great stuff! This thing just flys and makes it look easy. Nothing makes me happier than the picture of the mild steel mig welded hot side.
Man look at all those angles and what a great job editing!
Viking has great customer service as well as great products, i love the shocks they suggested for my Nova! Stock suspension car & working with instant center, very cool!
Overlays were awesome. Love it!
Keep the updates like these coming 👍🏾
Good to see the car planted to the strip, so many peoples cars especially heavy have front/rear pogo. Very well setup chassis.
(edited) just as i post comment explains his setup, lol
I love the visual on No Prep Stuff!....lolololol
I laughed way harder than I should have at that part. Apparently I don't understand why people want to build 3000 HP cars and race on a track with zero prep?
That was hilarious, and accurate.
Mark David I try to be explicit and short with my feelings. Visual aids helped greatly
@@cameron878 you NAILED IT !! Need you on that soap box more often , topshelf entertainment , dropping knowledge , and addressing future
interweb trolls that may or may not have trolled yet ,hahahaa.. love the style
Friggn love this channel
Nice. Wish he'd put more of a roll cage in it. GOD forbid, but he will be glad he did. All in all anyone who has a Crown Vic wishes our cars were faster. Great build.
I just picked up a really clean 08 Crown Vic and want to make a sleeper out of it. The 6.0l LS with a big turbo seems to be what I want to do... this video is very informative, thx.
Awesome vid guys, thanks for sharing
I love these overlays on the runs!
I'd be happy with HALF the power he's got.
All that Power under the Stock hood...Definition of a True Sleeper
Very interesting vid. Cool car too. Panther platform is the perfect sleeper.
Thank You, Good Tech
Nice video , thanks for all the info
You should definitely see about doing an interview especially on the suspension stuff and the Holley I’m just getting into drag radial stuff and I’m running Viking double adjustable crusaders along with cal tracs, Holley turbo ls and all other good things, stock gen 4 rods in pistons in a gen 3 6.0
This is nuts ! Makes me want a Crown Vic :)
nice, montgomery county... maybe ill see ya around this upcoming year. finally gonna get back into racing this year, doing a strip car, and have my circuit car.
THATS MY BOY !!!!!! Too cool
i love the part with no prep... dude you got me laugthing hard..! but Awesome Machine you got there! thumps up
That Tennessee tag. Hell yeah vfl
I really like this car, very fast and a nice sleeper.
Sheldon Vanek it’s no longer a sleeper when the exhaust leaves the front bumper.
Imagine putting hellcats to shame 🥵
Yes a video with Cameron
Holy 💩! I want one!
Hey bro I have a 1995 crown vic and was trying to see what motor mounts you used
Maybe absorbing info on this build will help me get my damn 4500lb truck launching and cutting good e.t.'s. Great video
Awesome that you guys were at BeechBend.
I'm from Germany but I'm staying in Bowling Green for work.
Are you from the area or were you there because of LS fest?
Easy to go fast it doing it as safe as possible the hard part and stopping lol good vid
Stopping is easy it is the deceleration that hurts.
It’s got all stock brakes and full size front steel wheels. It stops pretty quickly from almost 150!
then ready for a new video!!!!!
that viking shocks door decal makes it look like a taxi!
On a stock P59 ECU (because open inputs are limited) what sensor would you suggest adding that would be most helpful in tuning/dialing in a combo? (already have a wideband) Accelerometer, turbine backpressure, or something else? Him wanting to add a back pressure sensor has me thinking about what I should add.
I have TONS of questions about this build as I'm about to embark on a similar one. Single 76, 5.3 crown vic.
Makes me want to build a Vic. Cameron got any leftover front coil overs?
I really appreciate all the info and everything involveing the business end of the block. But the one thing I have to ask is, what are those rear wheels??
Iirc they’re welds
Not sure if you've done a rundown on your install. But did you fab mounts for the engine or did you use the Foxbody mounts?
I ❤ my crown Vic it’s not as fast as your but I wished it was
Thought I was watching a TRC video for a second
Scott Giebler goals AF @sloppymechanics
Daaam bookin !!
Do you know how much it weighs? Apologies if I missed it - looking to build a similar setup but more street oriented - looking at GM b-body whales. They will be over 4k lbs but wanted to know how much of a hurdle this will be in order to make it respectfully quick.
Another smokey six liter FTW!
"Its not always puppies and rainbows" -Matt 2018
I love that trick coolant hose, where can i get one?
I was hoping the suspension explanation would go the "Chris Farley" route..... OMG were gonna DIE
I love this " brains over money" approach. What a cool project. Can you elaborate about why you suspected a big single with an air-air would be faster than his twin WtoA setup?
keith schuessler the twins I had were maxed and I wanted to try something different. I could have bought different twins but I wanted the simplicity of a single and a2a
My mind is now muuussshh. Past blown, just mush.
The Intel in your brain housing group is truely something 👍
How much did the swap cost? Not including go fast stuff.and how difficult was it to put the engine in?
I was there that day,, that car is a monster.. makes all of our slow expensive junk,,, look like JUNK!!
Man that cool my dad has a Mercury marque makes me wanna slap a turbo on his lol. But he would kill me
What a tank! Awesome
Time slip is at the end of the video both of them
What motor mount and trans mount are you using
what mounts an trans crossmember did you use
What alternator bracket is on the Vic ?
THE LAW!
What ls mounts did you use?
I got a crown Vic the left wheel bear in went out have no help to change it so it only sits arround
Hey Cameron “what motor mounts did you use?” Lol. Good talking to you at the track. (I was the red mustang with the front mount vs75)
Lmfaoooooo
@@cameron878 anything special done to 4l80e?
michael coleman billet input, billet hub, some extra roller bearings, good rebuild, and a d3 trans brake
@@cameron878 How much would you charge to add extra parts to a 4l80e
Might be able to be a bracket racer.
bad ass
How hard was the ls swap?
@SloppyMechanics
Matt...does Cameron have a full build list and, what was the total spent to get a setup similar to his?
Iirc no main summary anywhere right now
In the past you've done motors with the china studs ("Alper motorsports" in Fairmont 3 to be exact), but in this update you say you're not a fan. I couldn't find any video where you had an issue and I'm just curious why the change of heart.
He said he likes stock bolts over china studs
Exactly the stock re used bolt does the same thing, it’s a waste of money and potential failure
Sloppy Mechanics So I have a L33 and I was gonna buy the china head studs. So would I be better off just buying the gm head bolts. I just thought they were torque to yield and if I pulled the heads I would need new bolts
What stall speed does he have ?
Does he ever street this thing?
Camerons accent sounds like that dude from the Fuel Injection Sucks channel.
What is the engine?
Please pass along to Cameron, I’d rather he use the pink dolphin for demonstrating in the future. Thanks.
Can’t go fast without a ford chassis! Yea baby
This track has nothing to do with Beech Ridge Motor Speedway? Amazing build BTW 😊
ladams00 no it’s in bowling green ky
Set those rear to damn near stock rebound n compression n the front also
Dammm 0 to 60 in 3 sec
If the car ever breaks while filming it the video should have the “ breaking the laww, breaking the laww” song playing in the background.
3:14 he runs a "89.35" @ 147.7 mph
Hellcat took multiple beatings...the owner is currently taking out a 3rd mortgage on his house for a Demon.
Jumping coke cans @ 1:10 #threequarterracecam
how tough of a swap is this for crown vics? is it reasonable if you're just wanting more power than the stock 4.6 can muster?
I'm curious too. Could get rid of the junk transmission while you're at it.
It’s a ton of work. And the 4r70w isn’t bad. One I built a couple years ago was at the track the day I was there going 8.80s
Hay Matt quick Q... Are you more a Holley ecm guy now then MS...A tuning shop about 10min from me was all set to tune my car till I said that I had
MS3x .... He was nice about it ...just said there junk ...but he could sell me a Holley for $1800... since you use both whats your take..
This is a great question and I did do a video on this after using it on my truck a while and tuning friends cars, did you see that or are you more interested in my point of view right now
I did miss that video.....I guess if you were building another car and had both of them right in front of you... which do you grab?... Your the reason I went to ls motors ...I wanted to say thank you for all your help and what you put out there for us!.....
Is it still alive? What happened to the 5.3. I asked because yall did what i want to so for a street vic.
Yep watch the 8 sec pass video and the after video and yes still running same engine to this day
Just need to ask why 9inch diffs seem to be avoided?
Is it weight?
oceanz4me because the car came with an 8.8
I like the 8.8 better than a nine inch and they are in mustangs crown vics f-150 for a long time can be made to handle big power and with 31 spline axles and a good posi can handle 650 horsepower
Silver runing board
When he threw the model car i fell out of my chair
What size tire on the back?
275
What are you measuring just below boost (B-duty)? I know it's probably a stupid question but for the life of me I cannot figure it out. Thank you in advance
That is the boost controller duty cycle
Murica
I'll be damn
Check the follow ups it did go 8’a
@@SloppyMechanics - i most certainly will....i got 1 an this just peaked my interest in following thru on such a swap
First
Cameron Vic that doesn't count
I believe it’s, “notification squad”
Cameron, really impressive work. Keep chipping away at it. It’s been a blast to watch the Vic evolve.
anything new with this car?
He’s doing some wild stuff now haha aluminum 5.3 and different turbos and methanol, complete re wire and all
Seeing those booger welds really does make me think "okay, I can do this." Literally never welded before, but if *that* shitty looking hack job holds while running 9's, surely to christ I can do something that'll hold up and make enough power to make me shit myself.
How hard is it to put a tranny brake on the 4L 80 E I’ve never seen any info on that
Did you Google or search it here on RUclips ? 1st to 3rd on the sloppywiki is tried and trued
I have heard of that but what I heard it had a big delay after you let off the button ? Is that True
Dam only 13 degrees
gsppuffer babysoft, way more left in it
