@Dogurasu I mean same rear bet the brakes aren't too far off maybe not bolt on but you could probably make em work same basic front end McPherson strut it's really the same basic formula same motor same trans or at least close
Here's my suggestion. Buy three crown vics. Do a turbo on one. Coyote swap one. Supercharge the last one. Do a price comparison and performance evaluation on each.
I had a regular Crown Vic from the early 00's, and what I used to like about that car was it I was whisper quiet. You would mash the gas and you would be thrown back against the seat and all you would hear was the woosh of the air with just a hint of a grumble from under the hood. I miss that car, i miss the bench seats.
You guts have discovered something I've known for years. An ex-patrol unit is cheap to get your hands on, easy to soup up, and makes one damn good sleeper when done. I've done several Fords for myself all the way back to a 1977, and helped do up Chrysler's and Chevy's friends got. Welcome to the doughnuts and speed club guys!
I am 37 years old, and I've owned 56 cars and trucks over the years, and I used to be into domestics, but in 1999 when I got my license and lived in Florida it was all about the imports. Then the original Fast and the Furious came out and that was it for me, I was all about the imports. To this day I have a 97 EJ8 Civic coupe that is currently tuned to 612 whp and I'm about to turn it up. That being said, when I was younger I had a 74 Camaro Z28 with a 400 that had Trick Flow heads, an Edelbrock dual tunnel ram intake manifold, two Holley 750 double pumpers, and two velocity stacks sticking out the hood, and it was backed up by a Muncie M-22 Rock Crusher out of a Vette. It had a 4.11 posi and 19" wide Mickey Thompson drag radials. It was all black with Fatal Attraction airbrushed across the back with the Heartbeat of America and the old Chevy block logo. I LOVED that car. I miss it so much sometimes. My brother still owns it, and he restored it to original, but it now has a 355 sbc that makes 425 hp. He is currently making it into a frame off restomod. He also has a 2018 ZL1 Camaro, a 2010 Corvette convertible, and a jacked up 2019 GMC Sierra Black Widow edition. Thanks for the trip down memory lane buddy. I enjoyed reading your comment.

@@daviedood2503 I actually got one finally this past February. I won the bid on a municipal auction site. A 2011 p7b black and white for $1,550. Needed a power steering line and fuel filter. It has 65,000 miles and over 7,000 idle hours but runs great. It's not that pretty but I plan on making it look nicer. I can't figure out how to post a picture of it.
Right after the bit about protecting the paint you dent the hood with the hood slide...18:57- 19:00 maybe one less doughnut next time? Awesome project guys !!! Maybe stuff that new 390FE in another Panther Body?
Drove a Lincoln Towncar model years 2001-2011. Miss that platform. They were beasts. Put easy 1 million kilometers on motor and 500k on transmission before needed rebuild.
I have always wanted a 94 Towncar. My dad had one for a while and it was the best body style of Towncar imo. The one he had came with a 4.6 2v, but he also had a 92 with a 5.0. He also had a 93 Lincoln Mark VIII with the 4.6 4 valve and that car was ALOT of fun, and it was really fast for only having 300 hp.
The best thing about the Panther platform is that full frame. You can beat the living hell out of it without breaking it. When the Georgia State patrol went to the Charger they broke one after another slamming through ditches and medians like they always did in the Crown Vics. They finally had to tell them to quit it and baby the unibody Chargers. Now I see more and more cops going to SUV or actual Pickups because there isn't a car made anymore that can take that kind of abuse.
that suspension looks amazing, I have to say the stock p71 suspension does a pretty good job but during those donuts at the end there was like 0 body roll
The Crown Vic is THE iconic police car and nothing will ever match it's legacy. Even your criminals and felons have to buy one from the auction because they aren't at home when they're not in a crown vid!
Wow, nobody really uploads any quality videos on these vehicles, I own a blacked out 2008 P71 that is getting suspension & rear redone with ride tech and Yukon axles & gears. To watch this is amazing, Thank you !
Grand Marque is so much better to buy and have than an old police car. Can be had for the same price (or less because people want cop cars for some reason) and oh yeah the 80 year old didn't beat the ever living piss out of his car.
Same man. It’s crazy. I remember watching Horsepower TV in my room when I was like fourteen. I’m 31 now. Back when it was Joe Elmore and the heavier set fella, I forget his name. I remember the first episode I watched was an intake manifold replacement on a Chevelle.
My 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis needs all of these suspension and brake systems upgrades!!! Of course the ultimate 4-door Mustang GT modification would be to drop in the Coyote 5.0 engine and ECM!!! Unfortunately, being that I am a Military Disabled Veteran living on a fixed income makes this out of reach for me...

Was having a hard time figuring out what to do with my 05 grand marquis, thanks to you guys i have some goals now. Already started the marauder front end and finished most of the bodywork(bodys mint but had some bubble on the roof which was a defect in the cars paint). As for brakes they are getting done today(new oem). Next on the list will be gearing and suspension and finished off with remote mount turbo and exhaust. I'd be happy with 350hp current 0-60 has gotta be 10 seconds with the 2.73's lmao.

Now go one step further and do a 5 speed manual transmission swap. ADTR sells the pedals to do it, TR3650 from a Mustang GT, and Mo's speed shop in Dallas, GA sells the tune to make it possible. I have acquired most of the parts to do the swap to my 2011 Crown Vic LX. Gonna start the swap soon!
I love my grand marquise man. 2005 68k miles on it. I've gotten in a few minor fender benders and she has taken it well. A tow truck rear-ended me, and it messed his bumper up more than my car. hope that failed hood slide was worth the nice large dent you put in the hood , that was actually a very nice car , a car that in nice shape is drying up quick , and will become a piece of history , but years from now someone will want a nice black interceptor , and I may be the only one with one stashed away with less than 50 miles on it , I purchased a 2011 PI , and decided to just put it up knowing not only is it "iconic" but will soon be rare , but hey I also have a Checker A11 , who would have ever thought those would be down to under 2,000 left in existence ... ya know if you look at history , the most common cars become the rarest , as nobody thinks of preservation "oh they are everywhere scrap it " turn around , and you can't find one for love or money ...
Take out the stiff springs and put softer springs but then put a bigger sway bar for better handling. In my opinion I would of left the factory stiff springs if u wanted good handling
I own an Vic with all of these mods except mine has Wilwoods all around and instead of a turbo, mine is Vortech Supercharged. Was ready for another upload. Thanks
A supercharger would have been a better choice IMO.
hope that failed hood slide was worth the nice large dent you put in the hood , that was actually a very nice car , a car that in nice shape is drying up quick , and will become a piece of history , but years from now someone will want a nice black interceptor , and I may be the only one with one stashed away with less than 50 miles on it , I purchased a 2011 PI , and decided to just put it up knowing not only is it "iconic" but will soon be rare , but hey I also have a Checker A11 , who would have ever thought those would be down to under 2,000 left in existence ... ya know if you look at history , the most common cars become the rarest , as nobody thinks of preservation "oh they are everywhere scrap it " turn around , and you can't find one for love or money ...
Congrats to Chris from ADTR.net !
Makes me want to get 1 now with the same build but the air filter in the engine compartment with a new engine
Take out the stiff springs and put softer springs but then put a bigger sway bar for better handling. In my opinion I would of left the factory stiff springs if u wanted good handling
I like the fact that the control arms have zerk fittings! Now if only you could make the car look meaner and sexier like a fox body.
Drove them for years, only problem was the front drivers bucket wore out too fast!
I own an Vic with all of these mods except mine has Wilwoods all around and instead of a turbo, mine is Vortech Supercharged. Ive done 6 years and 80k trouble free daily driven miles on the setup and i STILL love driving it every single day. Its one of my all time favorite cars! Thats coming from someone who has owned numerous Foxbodys, SNs, etc.
They didn't show putting that spring back in the rear end that's always the most fun part of that job.
These two are the best ! Funny and Tech
How much was the full suspension upgrade?
Other than that awful turbo setup, you guys are making me misty for my old '86 Crown Vic. One of the absolute best (and cheapest!) cars I have ever owned!!
The hood slide produced a slight dent there! Other than that is a great episode!!! 😍😝
Coyote swap it with the factory auto 6spd transmission ! Yeah boyyyyy!!!!!
