I read an article on rest that said "rest is not a reward - it is a prerequisite for performance" and I only learned that in my 50s. So learning this in your 30s is great, seriously.
@user-ho4nh2tp2i the more we share knowledge with and help each other, the less time people will have to go without being able to learn these things; but at the end of the day I think it's more useful to take joy in people knowing it now rather than asking them why it took them so long
I learned that it was okay to live your best life for yourself in my late 50s. Unfortunately putting your self last is an extremely hard habit for you and the people in your life to break.
Ru Paul got to a point on their own journey where they could put away the wigs and show us Ru Paul. Drag is a great way to hide when we feel less than confident in ourselves. Trusting, that you are loved with or without the wig. It takes enormous growth and confidence. You are amazing and talented with or without the persona of Trixy. You believe that now. Your fans adore you. Happy coming out as yourself day!!
Trixie deserves a damn break after supplying us with entertainment for YEARS. Take that break boo, and take as long as you need. Edit: I do not have a parasocial relationship with Trixie in the slightest. I have edited my comment as I have been educated to not use Trixies real name. It was a lack of knowledge on my part, but acting like I said it out of malice or with the belief that I personally know Trixie is insane.
When Trixie said "Growing poor is traumatic" I really felt that. Ant this is what we love the most about Trixie... Being a human, self aware and encouraging all the audience to work hard but not to death.
We don't want you using the Trixie persona to disassociate from life. You deserve to be a fulfilled person in your skin. Wishing you well on your hiatus 💙
Don’t plan your whole break. Give yourself a least a week or two of just staying at home, no alarm clocks, just watching tv, ordering food, going for a walk, etc just being bored at home. It’s important. Don’t do try to fill your whole break with trips or stuff to do or projects.
I think this is so true, but for me, I had to learn this lesson the hard way when I was recovering from my burnout. I also needed to fully schedule my "free time" (aka recovery time, but at first it feels like time off) in order to transition into an actual pause of that working mentality.
I'm trying to take a break for the first time in years myself and this is such useful advice. I am so bad at not feeling like I need to do something that I start picking up fun projects just to feel productive, when really the days where I just spend the afternoon on my couch playing Animal Crossing and napping are the ones that really make me feel refreshed afterwards
This ^^. Planning your whole vacation to the nth degree will wind up feeling like you were on the clock and responsible to be places the same as if you were working and you'll wind up almost as burnt out as you started. Learned that from trying to pack vacations to the brim and at the end you need another vacation to get over the vacation. Just...............be, for a while
As someone who grew up poor as well and used to never say no to a gig, I see you. Listen to your body. Listen to the people around you. So glad you’re taking this break for yourself and we appreciate you speaking with us about a vulnerable moment. You’re an inspiration and you’re loved. See you after your break! Keep shining ✨
I started watching UNnhh when I was 14. I’ll be 21 next month. I can’t even put to words how much Trixie meant to me as a child, and means to me as a woman. Hearing Brian, whom I’ve been so curious about for years, open up like this is a breath of fresh air. I’ve never felt so deeply proud of a stranger. Trixie Mattel is the American Dream.
I had a teacher in middle school who always said "I'll sleep when I'm dead" and he unfortunately passed a month after retiring... I loved him very much and this became a constant reminder that life and health is too precious and that sometimes even if it is difficult you have to say no to some opportunities and go to sleep...
A motto I’ve made for myself recently is “That’s not the serve you think it is”. Overworking everyday where you make great money but haven’t had a day off in years is not the serve you think it is.
Again...your ability to free flow, non-stop, coherently speak to the camera is astounding. Your intelligence & depth are what I admire most about you. Why I even watch your tutorials, or any other content. This video has to be my favourite thing you have done. The boy behind the lashes & overdrawn lips. The beautiful soul that you are. Enjoy freedom & have such a wondrous time finding your peace & joy again🌈
My physiotherapist always says “try softer” bc I try harder to push through everything and sometimes it’s not the way. Enjoy your well-deserved rest. ❤
This! I had a similar revelation during therapy to "pull" instead of "push". I.e., instead of keep pushing to "get/feel better", fighting against my brain and not getting anywhere, I can do the opposite - work *with* my brain, feel the feelings and make small changes now/when I'm ready - and it felt like a gamechanger.
If you end up not coming back from your break I'd accept that. You've given the world a lot of beauty and laughs, enough for several lifetimes. Thank you Brian, and thank you Trixie
I just genuinely don’t see that happening. She has a lot of businesses to run that for require her to be hands on to a certain extent and due to the poverty mind set, she will want to accumulate more wealth while still sure it’s on the table. The deadline of 3m is something that she can use to tell herself “no you need to stay out of work” until it’s over and then when it’s over she can come back a bit more refreshed
The comments make me cry. This community is a mirror image of what you've given us in all those years. We're so thankful. You're a lovely human being. See you again soon. ❤
I lost count of how many times I said “yeah” during this video. I’m a small business owner and run the place myself, so EVERYTHING you said is SO relatable and I’m happy and sad that we have this in common. Have so much fun and relaxing time on your break! So much love and admiration.
I actually screamed at my TV when Trixie started talking about ideas for this channel when she'll come back! It won't be a vacation if you are treating it like content for when you come back! We'll be fine! We love you and the best thing you can do is not think about what your fans want for the next three months (or however long)!
If you go to Sitka, Alaska they have a bear sanctuary to rehab bears who get injured in the wild. It’s called Fortress of the Bear and it is such a fun place where you can go see the bears living their best lives while rehabbing. They’re so cute with each other- it’s literally a joyous place. Have a great break!
This level of transparency and serenity is something we need to see more of. No music, no glitz and glamour. Just a human being expressing their feelings. All the best in your break, Trixie!!!
Today at PSR we were talking about personal heroes. I picked you, Trixie. I picked you. Not just Trixie, all of you the whole person package. Brian Firkus. Your past, your integrity, your wit, your everything. I look up to you so much. Much love to you Pink Mamma Trixie!
"Work yourself into an autoimmune disorder" ... as someone who struggles with Hashimotos, I 100% connect with this. It's rough. You don't feel well, then you feel guilty for not always feeling well, and then when you do feel well, you push to get as much as you possibly can get done and it immediately sets you back. It puts you in a cycle. Self care is so important, and not feeling guilty for taking care of yourself is just as important. Edit: Y'all. I'm so glad everyone reading can relate. I'm saving this comment to come back and look at when I feel alone. Also, reddit has some great subs around all of these various conditions. That also helps me to remember that I'm not the only one and everyone is going through something. Take care of yourself and each other. ❤️
Why I quit dance, working myself into a hospital bed repeatedly before the age of 20 eventually made me realize I was probably too disabled to keep my career
As a chronic illness girlie I learned the hard way that if you don’t take frequent breaks to prioritize your health, your body will FORCE you to take a LONG break that will not be enjoyable at all. Please allow yourself to completely rest too rather than trying to fill your whole sabbatical with travel and socializing, that will burn you out eventually as well ❤
you’ve literally not even stopped since season 7 of drag race it’s more than warranted. I love you trixie you seriously have made my life so much fuller with your comedy.
As a pro cosplayer, I reeeeallly felt it when you talked about how eerie it is to feel burned out and at your lowest and still have to put on a wig and make people laugh. I have been there! Take all the time you need - you more than deserve it!!
I had a nervous breakdown at 35. I taught high school at a very challenging school and had no support system. I literally worked myself into a psychological melt down. I can’t tell you how happy I am you are taking this break for yourself. Enjoy!!❤❤❤
Teaching has become highly regarded as one of the most stressful jobs in the world, as a Music Ed major, my profs have integrated mental health into all our ed classes. Thats something that's been missing forever. I saw both my parents, who are educators, struggle with panic disorders and ulcers. It's awful. Wishing u the best xxx
Sending love. I’m a teacher in Sydney Australia and I think it’s fair to say the education system globally is under so much pressure. People leaving the profession. I hope you’re finding some peace and balance ❤❤❤
I don’t think Trixie realizes just how MUCH she’s given us over the years. Figuratively and literally. We have over 10 years worth of material from her to “hold us over” until she comes back. We’re not going anywhere. And if she’s given us all of that while being exhausted and stretched thin, imagine what she’ll give us when she’s at 100% again. I love her and I wish her the absolute best.
I have this quote at the top of my notes app so I see it every day- if you don't take care of your wellness, you'll be forced to take care of your illness. Wishing Brian and everyone in this comment section peace, contentment, and balance
To the mastermind behind Trixie: Thank you Brian for all of your hard work! I love all the Trixie content and I hope this break brings you renewal and lots of rest! Please focus on yourself for all of your break!
I’m a proud owner of an autoimmune disorder and managed to burn my self out a few years ago. It’s crazy, because the time it took me to burn out (maybe 7 years?) - it took me the same amount of time to put myself back together. I’m a totally different person in so many ways but I learnt the hard way that you cannot fool your body. You can trick your mind and all the people around you but your body always knows and it make you repay it. Please, please look after yourselves- Trixie and all you lovely souls. There’s lots to look forward to, but you need to be above ground to enjoy it ❤
As a retired professional performer & educator, I can absolutely state that if you don't take breaks your body will take them whether you want to or not. Pace yourself out there!
as someone who has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis after years of suffering, it’s very validating to hear someone like you sharing bits of your experience and speaking out about advocating for yourself. i’m 21 and RA has forced me to learn a lot of the lessons you’re talking about. sending love
As a therapist I can hear the change in his voice and the emotions held back. So glad to see someone taking the time to take care of themselves. Enjoy your 3 months, we'll be here when you get back!
My parents have pointed out to me that one of the struggles of being a “workaholic” is not knowing how to be alone with your own brain. That has totally changed my mindset about taking breaks because honestly learning how to take care of my own mind without constant distraction IS hard work. I have so much respect for Trixie talking through the importance of breaks, especially in the United States where there is so much pressure.
Very important message, you're doing a huge service to so many people by sharing it. Don't pack your vacation too full! You are loved and admired in and out of drag. Hope you extend the break as long as necessary for you to get the true, deep reset you are craving. Thank you for all you've given!
As someone who just worked 8 last-minute notice cover shifts in the past two weeks, I really needed to listen to this. Thank you for reminding me to advocate and help myself when I need to.
My advice is to turn off notifications on your days off and just straight up ignore them! I basically never accept calls from my workplace because I hate being pressured into covering for people and thats the only reason they've ever called on a day off lol.
I'm so glad you're on sabbatical. I took a year off in 2015, and it changed the whole trajectory of my life. Now I make sure I incorporate nice long breaks on a regular basis. This is the wave of the future that' also a blast from the past. Rest well. 💗
TRIXIE!!! Embracing the “what if it was your best friend crying like this, what if it was your best friend … but it’s me” LITERALLY saved my life when I was younger. I’m so glad you said that and really put it in perspective for all your followers ❤️ take your time babe and enjoy life
I was crying by the middle of this video. Here is this mega star and it felt like sitting down having a heart to heart with my best friend. I'm really glad you are taking this time for yourself and I hope you have all of the fun, rest and relaxation! ❤ you Trixie!
My dearest Trixie (because only your mother and your lover call you Brian), as someone who is also an '89 baby, with intergenerational trauma, grown up underprivileged, with longterm depression, an autoimmune disorder, I FEEL YOU! "Putting on a wig and forgetting about reality " is the exact reason I went to theatre school. I was also recently diagnosed as neurodivergent. Congratulations! You are human. You deserve to enjoy you as much as the world gets to enjoy you. You deserve to experience you the same way the world experiences you. You deserve to receive the same love and care from you that others get to receive from you. I would highly recommend you explore your Indigenous heritage. Seek out some elders, and listen to them. Participate in some of your community 's traditions and ceremonies. Seek out other communities if you'd like. Connect with nature. I promise you will not regret it! I will continue to be sending you (and everyone else) all my love throughout the next 3 months. I look forward to hear all about your experiences! All my love, E ❤❤❤❤❤
The Katya shade about working every 4 months during her heartfelt mental health talk is chef’s kiss perfection. If when she isn’t trying to be, she’s Always in brand. Love her. We’ll be here when she comes back rested and refreshed ❤
i feel like a baby seeing her dad w/ facial hair for the first time like who is that?! Take care of yourself trixie, we'll miss you but you deserve this time to enjoy the wonderful life you've built!
Health (whether mental or physical) has one of THE. BIGGEST. IMPACTS. ON. LIFE. PERIOD. You can have a great support system with family and friends, you can have a great job that you love, you can have a purpose in life that motivates you... But all that is slowly chipped away when your body or your mind is constantly telling you "nonononono" ALL. THE. TIME... it's absolutely draining. So it's important to put your health up in your top 3 priorities of life and make sure you keep a balance. It's a slippery slope when you start losing health, costly and hard to reverse on. It's a sign you need to recover perspective and remember your life's priorities as you'd previously defined (which is never a bad thing, so silver linings).
❤❤ as a kindergarten teacher who had severe postpartum depression I felt the putting on a wig and making people laugh comment so much. Having to choke back pain and make sure a class of little people are ok is the worst, I feel you Trixie xx Have a gorgeous break xxx
YES. I had the same reaction. I'm a pre-k teacher who had to surpress the grief and depression of losing both my parents in a very short window of time. So much so that I also triggered an autoimmune disease, so that's fun. I also really felt the comment about how being able to just "switch it on" can scare you. Like how are we able to so easily compartmentalize that depression so easily? I'm so relieved to know he's going take the time to concentrate on being well. We love you Trixie. ❤❤
As someone who has worked herself into a serious autoimmune disorder and several hospitalisations, and 20 years in still struggles to take a day off cause what if opportunities dry out, this is so important. Go, heal, we’ll be here when and in whatever shape you choose to come back 💕
As a person who has been struggling with burn-out for almost a year now, I recognised the feeling. All these years you have been taking care of Trixie, but now it is time to take care of Brian! Brian is more important than anything else! I am wishing you an amazing time! Take care of yourself! ❤️❤️
Girl, I am so proud of you grasping the concept of being one’s friend. I did that step recently too and am also proud of myself. Going to take a year out. Take your break, heal and be happy! 🤗 I’ll miss you of course and others may too but i guess we want you preferably healthy and happy 🤷🏻♀️ 🤗😘
The emotion in his voice is very raw. I've actually wondered in the past just how tf he does all this, because it's insanity. It's a VERY hard thing to learn and then ACCEPT that REST IS PRODUCTIVE! We become programmed to live in survival mode, and our culture teaches us that rest is lazy, which is a lie. Flat lie. Proud of you for stripping yourself down and learning that rest is productive. ❤❤ Enjoy the time off. We have LOTS of content to revisit when we miss you!
“You as a professional are more valuable to tell the world ‘Hey I need that day off to recharge’” as a healthcare provider I really appreciate this stance. I find myself feeling guilty taking more than a day off at a time because I prioritize my patients. I constantly have to remind myself that “me time” is so necessary to continue enjoying and appreciating my job.
One healthcare worker to another, this comment made me misty-eyed. When you find purpose in serving others, it's hard to clock out literally and figuratively. ❤
As a chronically ill patient, remember that taking time off for yourself also means being able to come back and be your best self for your patients. The healthcare industry makes it inherently difficult, but taking care of yourself is the best thing you can do for your patients. Take those well deserved breaks❤
you DESERVE the break!!!! i totally resonate with what you're saying. i've been in grad school for the last 7 years and while it's literally my dream job, getting the point where you're forcing yourself to do what you love is like a black hole for joy and meaning. it messed with me so badly, i basically had a menty b for a year because of how much things piled up. learning to live with yourself is a long, hard journey, but i'm glad you're taking it!
This is a “drink your juice, Shelby” moment. There are just times when you need to take care of you and, the hardest part, is letting those who love you surround you with the care and support you need. I am sure I and thousands of others will miss Trixie- but know that we’ll continue to love and support you in gratitude for all the joy and laughter you brought into our lives. Hugs & prayers! ❤
Honestly I love a recap PowerPoint! I had a GF get married and say “omg I want to take you out to dinner as a thank you” and I said “if I have to dress up and go to another event with you I’m going to cry, I’d rather have take out, sit in PJs and see all the photos from your honeymoon.” And it was the best thing ever.
Wow, this really resonated with me. I really failed to put myself and my health over work. You are so brave to be vulnerable. Enjoy your amazing break and keep whatever you want/need to yourself!!!
Speaking as a therapist and fan, thank you for making this video. Your message and honesty will help many people who struggle to slow down and take care of themselves. Enjoy your adventures!
It's amazing you have done all of the things you have done and found this success, and it's amazing to see what's coming from a well-rested, and health-first Trixie!!
Brian, you NEVER need to explain to us why you are taking a break. You are doing so much and have so much going on that a break is WELL deserved. We will still be here waiting.
@@aleckcain4142 this video is very much brian addressing us, i think, like he's said in the video, that differentiating between the character and the person is very important in this context
@@Kelly-uw1xrIt still doesn’t mean she is comfortable with fans calling her Brian, she has said several times, she wants fans to call her Trixie in and out of drag, so regardless if she is her male self in this video, you’re still a fan, Mary. Call her Trixie.
@@aleckcain4142 This looks like Brian to me. When Trixie is in drag, I do not see Brian at all. I only see Trixie. Trixie is a wizard with making the transformation real.
I'm so proud of you for taking the time to take care of yourself. I am also a workaholic for some of the very same reasons as yourself. I had the same realization about a year ago and completely melted down. Between therapy taking some time off and really consistently questioning each one of my activities to see if it serves me and some type of way I have been able to get myself in a better head space. I hope that you can do that for yourself as well
I feel like early thirties is the age when things like these really hit you to make you stop... I'm seeing it on all of us . I used to have the same attitude that you talk about about in regards to work and touring and etc , working a corporate job and at the same time building an international career as a VJ, and these few months I'm slowly recovering from burn out and I've been diagnosed with glaucoma. Some friends of the same age group including my bf have it worse, having been diagnosed with autoimmune diseases on top of the burn out. It's no joke, your body very clearly tells you to stop. I hope we all find balance and joy in our lifetimessss . ♥️♥️♥️
The amount he works is insane. If anyone deserves a break it’s him. At this point it’s necessary. I think a lot of people know how grateful he is for the opportunities drag has helped him attain but he constantly put his work life first. Happy break Trixie.
Coming from a working class family, I totally understand the inability to say no to the opportunities that are given to you just because you feel too grateful about it. You inspired me to plan a break between my work and school!
“It isn’t fierce to work yourself into an autoimmune disorder.” Um….too real! Grew up with young parents going paycheque to paycheque (coupon holder, shopping with a calculator and-the worst-having to leave carts of groceries behind when it can’t be paid for), dad would work nights and bring us toddlers with him, got a job at the earliest age possible and doing every kind of job (Kmart underwear inventory overnight), etc. It’s a super valuable message! I’m great at delivering it and encouraging it in others and super sucky at implementing it for my own self. Note to self: “pretend to listen”
“You cannot reply on people around you, who make money off you or watch you perform or work with you, it is not their job to tell when it’s time to take a break. Bc that day will never come” SCHEDULING THE 3 WEEKS OF PTO I ACCUMULATED TOMORROW MORNING ~THAT WAS THE EXISTENTIAL CONFIRMATION I NEEDED. THANK U, U BEAUTIFUL, BALD BADDIE. XOXO Have a great detox! Truly, you deserve it
I've never seen him talk so candidly without a joke to break the ice or self depreciation humour for so long. This was nice and more that we could have asked from him
This hit so hard, i have not stopped crying in 3 days, ive been over worked & underpaid for years under a narcasitic boss. I'm destroyed, im so lost , i dont know who i am , im hurting...... Thank you for all the years you have made my days a little more bearable. And cheers for what comes next!! I love you!!!
Im 38 and THIS IS MY INNER MONOLOGUE. I dont run anything, no savings, been self-supporting since I was 16 and I just had the courage to finally admit that I AM TIRED AND I NEED A BREAK. Thank you for this Brian.
I am 37 and after years of balancing multiple jobs and college I feel the same. I need rest and radical self care because I have been surviving not thriving. Best wishes to you that you find it.
i recently quit my job that i was working for nonstop for almost 6 years, i was suffering tremendously with my mental health.. driving home crying, my migraines became so severe i was losing my hair from the stress, i finally spoke to my family about it and they encouraged me to quit and they will support me with what i need. I am so grateful for given this moment to self reflect on who i am and how to take better care of myself. I am so happy for you Trixie, you're going to feel so amazing during your break! We will miss you!
Speaking as a mental health professional who is struggling with burnout, you are speaking so deeply to me. We love you so much, Trixie. I am in awe of gour resilience.
When you talked about growing up poor being traumatic, I totally understand that. You constantly worry about whether you will have a roof over your head the next month, to the point you'll burn yourself out so much taking on extra work, even though you're now comfortable. It's a hard mentality to shift, I am guilty of it, too
Completely support this break. Today I quit a super stressful job, partly because I've developed a chronic stress condition and am mentally emotionally and physically exhausted. Really needed this today. It's important to take care of ourselves x
Literally, thank you for setting this example. I took a leave of absence from grad school this year because I got burned out. It’s actually so reassuring to see that even the most influential and successful still need a break. Thank you for your transparency, and we will miss you. Love you, and take all the time you need. x
I don't normally comment on videos, but this is so incredibly raw, honest, authentic, and vulnerable I just had to compliment you on the best content I've seen in years. I will seriously watch this at least once a week as a reminder to take care of myself. Thank you for sharing this with us. I wish you healing, comfort, and relaxation during your time off. Try to remember to live in the moment and not stress out about making every day "the best day off ever!" You don't have to "win" at having your break. Just relax and surround yourself with love. Take care and we'll be here when you're back.
As a licensed clinical social worker I really appreciate the vulnerability and transparency. I think videos like this show other people that it is okay to go to therapy!
Just seeing all the projects Trixie has done with multiple RUclips channels, podcast, home reno shows, a makeup company, a motel, performing, making music albums and music videos, writing songs, touring, and so much more. I was impressed but also worried. It seemed more than any human could handle. So glad she is prioritizing herself and saying it okay to take a break!
This resonated so deeply for me. I’m a first-gen college student turned university professor. I really needed to hear someone else say that growing up poor is traumatic, that you can’t work every day of your life, and that it’s okay to be grateful but take a step back. Thank you so much for sharing 💕
I’m a first gen as well (PhD candidate) and I totally needed to hear this and constantly need to hear it! Especially being in academia which truly runs you into the ground
Yepp and having your parents who were in survival mode and passing on their insane work ethic and inability to relax or enjoy life because of fear! That cuts deep into your psyche
Trixie, I'm also on a mental/physical health break from work and hearing you talk about this was both very affirming and made me feel less alone and embarrassed about needing it. I hope this time is what you need it to be and it doesn't matter how long you need - we're with you
Congrats! It's great when you realize you are doing to much & its becoming detrimental to your overall health & have the wherewithal to take a step back! Happy for you, girl!! *hugs* ❤
Being honest with yourself and putting in the work to get to a better mindset is really tough! I hope you are proud of yourself for doing that and being willing to be so open and vulnerable with your viewers. I hope you are having a wonderful break and look forward to your return if/when you are ready to do so. ❤
Run and don't look back, hon. Not even the comments. You need this break, but most importantly you WANT this break. Enjoy your home, love quiet and lounging. Katya will be fed while you're gone, the kids have the studio keys, and we're proud.
You and Katya bring so much joy to my life no matter my mood but especially if I'm feeling blah. I'm so happy you're getting the joy and rest you deserve. 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
I feel you. I ignored those stress pangs and it led to a big burnout that led to a 3-year recovery period. I’m grateful for the time, I learned my lesson. I’m glad you’re taking this step of self-care ❤
I can relate. I worked two jobs for a long time before being diagnosed with Graves' disease. Growing up poor instills a deep fear of failure and the prospect of ending up where you started. I'm proud of you for taking a break; you truly deserve it.
As a full time drag performer who juggles a full-time day job, wedding planning, dog parenting, family relations, and a social life...this hit. I'm glad you're taking a break for Brian and it was a wonderful reminder to the version of me that a few weeks ago was on the brink of losing it with the stress and self-expectations to do it all to take care of me first and the drag is always there to enjoy when I return. Sending love and have fun! See you this fall!
i get your point of growing up poor. i didnt realise how poor i was growing up and even then i feel like now i have a job and im making my own money it just feels like no matter how much i scrimp and save i always have to be working for more money. taking a break is so important and im so proud that youre finally able to do so!
I'm no stranger to RPDR and I've seen you a lot in various online places (girl you're everywhere let's be real) but I've never followed you closely. This video was suggested to me and I'm SO glad I chose to watch it. In 2021, I had a mental breakdown and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder from overworking myself at my federal government job. I quit, took two years off, and opened my own business as an artist. I now get to work on my own terms and make gorgeous, girly art all day. It was the best thing I ever did for myself and I am the HAPPIEST AND HEALTHIEST I have ever been!!! Take your break, babes. Rest is what gives us the energy to continue producing greatness. Oh, and you have a new subscriber in me. 💖🥰 Looking forward to being here when you return!
I read an article on rest that said "rest is not a reward - it is a prerequisite for performance" and I only learned that in my 50s. So learning this in your 30s is great, seriously.
that's such an excellent way to frame it, thank you!!
Yes so true. We need to take care of ourselves to be able to do the things we want to do at the best of our abilities
This level of transparency is admirable
Admired, and also not owed to us…so thank you for your generosity Trixie!

When Trixie said "Growing poor is traumatic" I really felt that. Ant this is what we love the most about Trixie... Being a human, self aware and encouraging all the audience to work hard but not to death.
Same. Trixie was so real for saying that.

It's true. It molds your mental frame into deprivation mentality so strong that even when you're in abundance, you don't see it or trust it.
Tea. I feel like I’m aimlessly, tirelessly working myself up the corporate ladder because I have no other choice. That trauma runs deep.

Yes boredom is honestly so healthy
@@niltjePagreed I had to learn the hard way too
I'm trying to take a break for the first time in years myself and this is such useful advice.

I feel this so deeply, so well said. For years Trixie has helped me find myself. Its so deserved that Brian gets a break 🤍
I had a teacher in middle school who always said "I'll sleep when I'm dead" and he unfortunately passed a month after retiring... I loved him very much and this became a constant reminder that life and health is too precious and that sometimes even if it is difficult you have to say no to some opportunities and go to sleep...
damn that's dark to say to a class lol but rip
A motto I’ve made for myself recently is “That’s not the serve you think it is”. Overworking everyday where you make great money but haven’t had a day off in years is not the serve you think it is.

Thank you Brian, and thank you Trixie
fr me too.
Agreed. I think she’ll always be creative and will make cool stuff, but the world isn’t owed any of it.
Literally I wouldn’t be upset at all with how much they’ve worked ❤
I just genuinely don’t see that happening. She has a lot of businesses to run that for require her to be hands on to a certain extent and due to the poverty mind set, she will want to accumulate more wealth while still sure it’s on the table. The deadline of 3m is something that she can use to tell herself “no you need to stay out of work” until it’s over and then when it’s over she can come back a bit more refreshed
She’s definitely coming back but I think it won’t be at the same level of content

I actually screamed at my TV when Trixie started talking about ideas for this channel when she'll come back! It won't be a vacation if you are treating it like content for when you come back! We'll be fine! We love you and the best thing you can do is not think about what your fans want for the next three months (or however long)!

As a chronic illness girlie I learned the hard way that if you don’t take frequent breaks to prioritize your health, your body will FORCE you to take a LONG break that will not be enjoyable at all. Please allow yourself to completely rest too rather than trying to fill your whole sabbatical with travel and socializing, that will burn you out eventually as well ❤
As another chronic illness girlie I second the importance of utilizing all kinds of resting! Physical, mental, social, etc. All important!!

It hits different when your parents say something

Rest well. 💗

TRULY LIKE WHO IS THIS BIG TOUGH GUY

You and Katya have helped me tremendously with my mental health, it's so important to take care of yours too. We can wait, enjoy your time off
“You as a professional are more valuable to tell the world ‘Hey I need that day off to recharge’” as a healthcare provider I really appreciate this stance.

This is comforting; I had a full burnout 6 months ago that I'm trying to recover from so it's at least nice I'm not just failing

I feel that ❤
Completely support this break.
I love Trixie, but I also love Brian, and I'm grateful for this opportunity to 'spend some time' with Brian. I hope we'll get to see him again soon. ❤
*hugs*
❤
"Some times you have to be your own best friend" is a great message. Have a great time and thank you for everything.
I feel this. The fear of the bottom falling out is UGH. Cheers to being able to taking a much deserved break.
@@drivingrl it's the constant anxiety for me
@@SusanDelgado1177 I know it and for you I wish the peace in knowing that no matter what obstacle you face, you've got this. 🙏🏼
Yeeeessss!!!! I am happy for you! DESERVED! ❤
If Trixie comes back, great.
If not, still great.
Thank You for your transparency
We love you Brian. You are precious. Take care of you
