Fun fact: Nicki Doll revealed that they don’t isolate the queens on DragRace France because it’s illegal under their production laws so they queens go out during filming.

Jaida was an alternate on Season 12 as Tamisha Iman had to drop out due to her illness, I'm glad we got to see Tamisha on Season 13 and I'm also so happy Jaida got on Season 12 and fully deserved to win

@@issy4122 oh absolutely I think that was the case. I don't think Willam's account was wrong by any means (although I do believe she could've amp'ed some stuff up for dramatic effect), I do believe her telling that to the world surely made them rethink their approach with the Queens PAs - at least once they started to realize how big the show would've become, and they started doing All Stars, meaning they had to play nice to actually make the Queens want to come back.
Well, the show itself was pretty low budget at the time.
I myself have worked in a local tv station (low budget) and what she pointed felt accurate to what I've seen in my time, specially people being jerks, lil tv big ego. One of the hosts was Miranda Pristley in flesh, a local tv station, in Brazil country-side.
Trixie using images from her Season 7 looks reminded me that she was a serious underdog when she made her debut on Drag Race. She's just such a drag superstar now that it's hard to remember the time when that wasn't the case

i know trixie keeps comparing dragrace to other reality shows like they all abide to the same rules, but my heart still goes out to the queens, because i don’t see a love island or house of villains cast member learning lines, doing backflips in heels and wigs…

"Hard ice" explains Pearl's story about her gushing at Ru and her saying "save it for camera".
Tbh I always thought that story sounded harsh but reasonable. I understand why Pearl was upset about it, it was kind of a rude way of putting it, but at the end of the day, it's a job, it's a TV show, and yeah, it's about what happens on camera.
@@bryonybates897 “Save it for the camera,” as I understand it, is literally just a normal thing people say when they work on TV sets. I think Pearl doesn’t quite get that Ru wasn’t being a jerk when she said that… she’s literally just a professional doing her job, which is to run a wildly successful TV empire.
I’m not saying Ru is a saint, because obviously not. I’m just saying that I always thought Pearl took that specific comment a little too personally.
There's a difference between saying "what you say doesn't matter if there's no camera" and "we're currently not allowed to talk unfortunately"
Plus I don't think this was during the filming of the actual show but during the casting ?

Hi Trixie, 10-1 as in bathroom break is actually walkie talkie lingo which dates back to filming, well, films! And before that it was military walkie lingo. Also used by police walkie talkies and CB radios. A big 10-4 buddy.

It's nice to bear witness to the show's evolution. The considerations for food during Willam's time were very different back then. One day I wouldn't mind watching Willam and Trixie swap war stories on the Then and Now of Drag Race.

I think Willam is the reason the food stepped up for the show, because she was the one who put the producers on blast for not making sure dietary queens were taken care of.
Sounds like the production team/ crew really improved between Willams S4 and S7 when Trixie first appeared.

They actually do the runway two times! The first is to music where they just walk and serve and the second is with no music while the judges make their jokes and sound bites.

There's actually a study that proves that pink walls (especially when you'll be in that space for a long period of time) inicially increases tranquility, but after a while increases the level of aggression and stress, and I think that is the main objective of the production lol

@@perezdavidangelWell that's not true. Rupaul and the judges are activists. They are also real humans and sometimes humans can be harsh. If Pearl would have said that on camera then that would have made Pearl more likable. Helps them both out. She put it very harshly for sure though.

10-1 (10-100) is radio code for pee (10-2, is well, a number 2 but no one generally uses this code) It's just a more private and polite way of telling your team/crew you're stepping away for a bathroom break.
It's funny how similar my experience with Painted With Raven was. Even though it was not in person there was a lot of waiting and Hard Ice. The producers were super accommodating, I agree! Funny they called our makeup looks from the main challenge "Runway" behind the scenes. Lol 😂 the pee breaks were just pee breaks 😂 we were constantly forgetting to look into the camera instead of the judges on Zoom, that was very hard to remember. I'd love to do the Drag Race but I've got no costume and I'm lazy..lol 😂
10 codes vary from field to field. They’re walkie talkie lingo that go from 10-1 to 10-20 usually, as a way to facilitate communication. So the meanings of each 10 code vary depending on what information ppl usually need to convey in the corresponding industry/field. On set, using the first 10 code (10-1) as a quick bathroom break is usually also accompanied with using 10-2 as a longer bathroom break… just cause, ya know. number 1 and number 2. Originally 10-1 in walkie talkie lingo meant “bad reception” or “unreadable transmission” but I guess in the age of technology, we dont need to say it that often anymore. lol. 🤓
also, ppl just say “extend my 10-1” now so others just know you need a longer bathroom break. It’s the TV, you might be pooping, snorting a line or having a panic attack. Maybe all 3. None of their business.
