  • this will actually be the first episode on a series of where we tell you what you should get, and then actually install it in marks 2500 truck in a weekend, should be really exciting to get it all documented and see how it goes. for just simple builds, seems like we do alot of extreme anymore

    I called VS racing and ordered the 1200.00 Denmah Base Turbo Package w/Injector and Free Stuff. I switched out for a 78/75 for a 100.00 upgrade. The customer service was great. I would recommend to anyone.

      Also, I don't go on ls1tech much and I wanna know what you think of the ls9 cam, 5.3, 7665, 2.5" exhaust merged to 3 to the t4 flange. 3" ic shit, water to air and meth injection, decapped injector through a manual and 3.73 8.8 combo? I want more than 500 on a mustang dyno.

    Thanks for the info Matt. I’ve been planning my set up and decided on putting in the Summit drop- in truck cam, then HP tuners followed by the 78/75 turbo. I’ll be doing it in stages and aiming for 400’s as mainly a cruiser that still does home owner truck stuff. Also running the stock nv4500 till I can do a th400.

Car already has a th400 with a ptc 4500 stall in it. went mid 11s this way. I would like to ditch the carb and build a turbo setup capable of 800 or better to the tires now. Inspired now lol

You get all the LS info credit of course. I'd like to have sloppy mechanics and roadkill stickers for credit lol if you're OK with that. I can't remember if others have them or they're only yours.

    I'm surprised you didn't recommend an LS9 cam (PN#12638427). $115 at Summit Racing for 210/230 duration and .562 lift. It has a really wide LSA but that should be good for boost, that's what's in the factory boosted LS motors after all.

    • @SloppyMechanics
      @SloppyMechanics  7 лет назад +8

      ls9 cam involves alot of shit like front cam gear swap, wiring differences and i feel like it has a really soft bottom end in comparison to all other cams i have tried, also it doesn't sound cool, wich is 80% reason why people install camshafts

    • @EricFixalot
      @EricFixalot 7 лет назад +1

    Have a 1500 sitting in the driveway now. Gotta address an air bag code and its going up for sale or trade for a 2500. This is EXACTLY the summary/confirmation vid/info that i've been looking for after spending years lurking on LS1 Tech for a budget setup. I've followed you for a while and kind of knew this setup already but this vid was so concise and stupid proof... love it. I will start with this setup for sure. I don't see myself wanting more than 700 tire as the truck will just be my dump run/home depot/hooligan vehicle. Is 700 wheel attainable with this setup? If not, would I be able to just swap in a bigger turbo to get there?
    Your info and delivery is awesome. keep doing what you do, its much appreciated.

    Two Questions: 1. What do you do for vehicles that have vacuum operated power brakes.
    2. What about boost control. I know GM ECu needs complete external setup, MS3 has boost control but curious about Boost Controller/Solenoid hookup and what you're using. Haven't seen any details about these 2 things anywhere in Sloppyverse.
    Thanks for the great info as always, I'll try to remember my LS1tech password and PM the question there if you don't answer here.

    • @SloppyMechanics
      @SloppyMechanics  7 лет назад

      you hook up the booster to any of the vac sources on the intake, since nearly all LS motors are hooked up the same way to a vac brake booster, cept for trucks with the hydroboost
      read the ms3 manual that highlights boost control, super easy

    I’m wondering if I should get a billet 75mm or the billet 78/75 from VSR.. goal is around 750 HP for taking it to the strip, other wise it’ll probably be ~600 for the street (running way less boost). I’ve found a lot of formulas for sizing a turbo and it seems like the 75mm works “more efficiently” than the 78/75.. but they are basically the same price

    700 is a decent trans option, the tv cable can be a bit of a bastard though.

      suzuki400boi not really. The 700 is the father of the 4l60e and I had all the same problems plus the picky TV cable. I personally hate them for performance builds.

      FatMan Videos They're fine for this type of build, we've out them behind quite a few 500+hp cars. But more or less mentioning it simply cause it's a cheap option that has OD/lockup

    All great info.
    Im doing a 5.3 with Holley Sniper Efi with nitrous.
    My problem is finding a nice manual that can handle 500 hp and shift fast but isn’t as expensive as a T56. Is a T5 sufficient or is there any other muncie 4 gear transmissions?

      Hi,
      Curious to hear your thoughts on AR5 vs CD009. Did you have success with both? Any preference for gear ratios and availability of parts?

    What can be expected from this setup on a manual trans . I know the tq table will be different and change from gear to gear but will the hp change much . Im going to be running a Nissan z32 trans on my sloppy build . 500 is basically my goal number 530 hp out of a 5.3 i realistically what i want to see 100hp per ltr is what i want to achieve.
