You're amazing Ed
Hypocritical !!!! Imagine it was you 🐷🔪⛓😢🔴/😵🔴💩🍖🛒🐷 🤥🤥🤥....
✅❤️😬🌎👍
Slaughterhouses are still far more beautiful than the massive hypocrisy that is veganisum.
Veganisum is a giant fallacy of relative privation. Veganisum assumes that just because meat eaters allegedly kill more animals that excuses their hypocrisy of killing billions of insects and small animals. The “intent” argument is nothing more than special pleading. You damn well know animals still die for the production of your food. Along with this according to the FAO %86 of livestock feed is inedible for humans.
The world going vegan will only create a larger demand for corn, wheat, grains etc requiring millions upon millions more insects and small animals to die.
The world going vegan will only kill more animals and every vegan will be a walking hypocrisy.
I adopted a shelter dog last week, and I called him Ed. You are a hero and an inspiration. Thanks for what you do!

Many people do, sadly. It's often outside their comfort zone to address their cognitive dissonance.

What would you say to someone who says they have no obligation to be moral and only be lawful?
This is really interesting. Talking to farmers and politicians and councillors etc. It's those kind of people who can make change from the top down. Open minded people in those positions have a lot of power to effect change.
I agree but the second guy he spoke to summed it up imo... the biggest barrier is consumer demand. If people on the "demand" side of the equation start to take a stand then real change starts to happen.
Not without support from the general public and we're still a long way from that, but getting closer every year. Can't hurt to talk to farmers, politicians and councillors etc. But the real focus needs to be on the general public.

Earthling Ed, perfect name and you hold it up in such a pleasant way with your friendly approach. You go out of your way to not discomfort people. You're special, man.
I was surprised by the open mindedness of some of the people you spoke too.
I’m from a animal farming/hunting family and I cannot get any decent conversations going with them or any in the community. And many don’t even know I’m vegan! 🤭
You're impressive for being vegan despite growing up in a farming/hunting family, since most people want to conform. What made you switch?
Dorn I never admired the work like the rest often do. The treatment of sheep, lambs ‘disappearing’ leaving their mothers never to return, animals dying, sick and miserable, seemed the opposite of what is portrayed in books, kids parks and television.
Always seemed to be hiding or quickly getting certain things done, hidden and kept under wraps.
And hunting. Well, I was out right mortified and thankfully only ever did clay pigeon shooting because I hated spectating let alone participating! The birds don’t die swiftly, the dogs are not treated fairly, and they do hunt illegally.
As a teen I’d had enough and went vegetarian. A visit to a slaughter house blew open all the lies I were told about this magical ‘end’ they were destined for. Animals we were supposed to care and love so much, yeah right. We send them to hell.
Recently vegan last year though as I was still unaware of the horrors on dairy farms in particular. At the time I was only eating cheese and had removed all dairy and animal products from my lifestyle anyway.
I will be honest, it’s hard, I’m boringly normal in every other sense but still such an outcast for how I care for animals compared to everyone else here.
I guess you could say I was born with some compassion, enough to break free. And my immediate family, namely my parents, were fairly supportive. I used to sneak food to sheep and game, would spend time talking to them in the woods in their pens or in the barns. Would watch the sheep in the fields and watch wildlife quietly, rather than tearing through it on horseback killing anything in your path. The noise of nature used to astound me, and then when farmers and hunters appear, it would our fall silent.
I do believe some people will never change though, I’ve sadly been around some awful individuals and cannot see such people very seeing a better way of life.

Guarantee ? I have seen a lot of similiar videos like this and I still don't have any moral issue when I slit a chicken's throat. And I am not even a farmer just a woman who was raised up like this. The only reason I watch videos like this is that I am curious about the arguments from people like Ed. Btw what do people like Ed feel when they accidentally kill animals ? For example when they hit frogs, birds with their car or when they step on snails, insects, etc ? It is still murder just not intentional. Do they feel shame for murdering in cases like these ?
@@anitabauer209 like you said it. it is accidently and not intentionally. i guess ed and other vegans will not take their lifes if they kill or harm an animal accidently but will be sad for sure
@@anitabauer209 There's a world of difference between accidentally hitting a frog or a bird with your car and holding down a struggling animal to purposefully slit it's throat just to satisfy your taste buds. The main issue Ed is driving at is choice, and we now have a choice whether to kill an animal or let it live out it's life, a life that the said animal wants to live, even if it's an animal that's been bred into existence because of demand, it still wants to live it's life. I also grew up on a small farm where killing pigs and chickens was the done thing, and I thought nothing of it, it just seemed that's what we do. It's one of the few times in my life where I was so thankful of how wrong I was, and made the decision to be a better human being.
The arguments of, 'protein though, B12 though et al' are moot, there's so many options now as far as ethically sourced food that give you all the nutritional requirements one needs. And when also weighed against the environmental impact of animal agriculture, and health benefits of a plant based diet, I have no idea why people would not choose to make that change.
@Tina Andersson a chicken is useless except when it is cooked and laying on a bed of vegetables. I'm sorry, that's reality.

Can you please elaborate on the Socratic Method? I think has to do with Greek history? And the classical Liberal Arts. As a Social Science student, I am genuinely very interested.
@@alexandrabroadbere8253 Yep, it dates back to Greek philosophy. It's basically a technique used in a discussion, where you ask a series of leading questions. For example, you start with lines such as "what is your...", "do you agree that..."would you accept that..." etc. This way, it's easier to expose underlying presuppositions, establish first principles, and draw out critical thinking. It's so powerful that it was removed from the current education (indoctrination) system, but used to be taught to children. Society does not want millions of empowered individuals that know the classical liberal arts because if we did, we wouldn't be fooled by rhetorical devices and sophism used in politics etc.

There simply isn't an excuse for needless slaughter, and to wrap murder into fluffy feel good things like "dignified" and beautiful doesn't do anything for that "ripe" animal. It just makes you feel a little better about doing the wrong thing.
The thing is that most farmers are nice people, they are no different to anyone else. My Dad was a farmer and my brother in law farms. It's hard. I see it as akin to the slave trade, often good people who have been brainwashed into thinking that what they do is ok, or somehow part of the 'natural order'. Many farmers come from a long line and farming is their whole life, an integral part of their identity. But many are beginning to see things differently.

@@gerardoperez2508 of course no single study or report is perfect but it's one of the best sources we have in an imperfect world. if anything reports like this are skewed in favor of animal ag, where the money is, and against plant-based system that would use less land. but still despite these issues it's basically a top and most recent source to cite. we can also place it in the broader context and it is aligned with the scientific consensus on the situation. which is also really obvious if you even just think about it logically: animal ag takes so much more land and energy because the animals need to eat more calories than their dead corpses constitute - so it's an overall caloric loss which, as the report says, is already contributing to the malnourishment of 800 million people around the world, and this will increase if we don't move towards plant-based system. so if you hate humans, other animals, and the environment, you'll keep up your demand for violence towards animals so you can shove their bodies in your face and cause poor powerless people to be malnourished and starve while you help wreck the environment. the report says of course, as is logically obvious, that the single best diet to "mitigate demand" for animal products and the devastation they cause is to be vegan.

A willfully blind view point from the farmer saying murder is beautiful in order not to admit our friend Ed has a very good argument.
Farmers are afraid of change and accepting a new way of doing things.
they are very much against veganism often, losing $$$ being the motivation. they don't realize they can make a prosperous living by being kind. i saw a video on here - former chicken farmer usa made $7000 pa from farming chickens for slaughter - has started changing those horror sheds where the chickens were into hemp growing, and plans to sell it inexpensively so all can afford. he stands to make $2 million pa when in full operation. win win. pretty sure its on a LIVE KINDLY channel.
Can't just put blame at the feet of farmers - governments need to help them. They need to be incentivised to grow grains, fruits and vegetables. It's the same with those that live in coal mining towns, of course they resist change to renewables as the change will see them broke and homeless as all of those towns would collapse. Can't just go around saying farmers are afraid of change - you would be too if you were a meat or dairy farmer and your livelihood was being attacked.
The first two farmers were the opposite of what you said. They aren't all the same.
Not just farmers. Anyone that has been brought up thinking something is right or normal their entire lives. Its understandable why many would resist something challenging their worldview, and I think many of us can probably think to a time where that happened for us.
Compost toilets need to become more common. Here in Norway people have compsting toilets in the cabins. It is frickin awesome recycling all the nutrients we eat. They dont stink if you set it up right its definitely a realistic for more people to have them and would also conserve water.
The Scandinavians are the most underestimated and unheard people. They are doing things so much better and yet the world is looking at and copying USA without realising the obvious degradation of life.

@@fearofaveganplanet8513 All the girls on your block will be totally envious!
@@roku3216 They'll totally envy my dignity when I'm hoiked up backwards by my leg to choke to death on my own blood.
@@fearofaveganplanet8513 Wow, that got dark... just like the nihilistic weirdness of this guy's aesthetics about butchery and Bobby's Perspective "seeing God in the slaughter".
@@roku3216 Yes, sorry about my darkness, I never know where to stop.
Bobby's Perspective, what a psycho! I don't know whether he's a meat industry shill or just driven by his own twisted psychology.
It was interesting how the last man you talked to couldn't bring himself to say, that an animal's life is more valuable than taste. I think this was representative for a lot of people, because we live in this carnistic world, are bound by our habits and traditions, don't like to admit we are wrong about something that central in our lives, and because it isn't easy at all to get away from food, that it literally designed to have drug-like properties.
Thank you so much for the kind and respectful way how you talk to these people, I it is really good to trigger some reflexion in them!
This was a much more positive video than I was expecting. Most of the farmers seemed generally open to more a plant based future. You've done a great job Ed and have definitely planted some seeds in some minds 💚💚💚
What a great conversation 💚
Superhero Ed
heart breaking...but honest man that farmer....oh well, carry on the good fight ED 😶
Always inspiring to see your activism and raising of awareness. Aside from the councillor who didn't want to engage, it was reassuring hearing the farmers who understood the need for change and were open to having a dialogue.
Great conversations, keep it up!
i need to practise asking questions instead of butting heads. ed is a legend
Thank you Earthling Ed God bless you for all you do for the animals. Vegan 3 1/2 years now and wish i had made the connection way sooner.
Ed, pleasee put subtitles on the videos! Some of the dialogues are fast and harder to understand if you're a non native English speaker. And those are automatically translated and the message will be spread to even more people across the world. Send you love, thank you for your work, you're a beautiful human being! ♥️
Fair play Ed, you are very polite & respectful when in conversation.
We love you Ed 🙌🤩
Good job ed!!!!
Great chats Ed, l think its so important that we get some kind of business model going to help the farmers transition to plant based farming. Its one of the most important steps to a Vegan world. I am so glad you talked about this. The farmers here in Australia get subsidies which could help them transition. With the drought and fires l cant see how they can go back to animal ag.
Brave of you to discuss with farmers, Ed, you are always so respectful and it shows in the dialogue. Plus you never waver from your standpoint. Just hypothetically, if someone told that last farmer that he is going to be bolt gunned in his skull, shackled upside down by his leg, and get stabbed in the throat, would he agree then that that is a 'dignified' and 'beautiful' way to die?
That is so messed up- i hope It’ll change
Amazing job, Ed.
Loving the whole vibe of the end screen. Obviously that's secondary, the video was gold standard as always. Always progressing the narrative in the territory where it needs to happen most. The lofi b&w though. Nice
ED. you have a real gift. The animals are so lucky that you do what you do. You are affecting change wherever you go. Thank you.❣️🌱❣️🌱❣️🌱❣️🌱❣️🌱❣️🌱❣️
Veganism or plant based eating has really taken off in the last year or so, it's incredible. I think we all know now that, whatever our level of consciousness about animal welfare, we need to go over to eating plants or mostly plants. The earth can't sustain us carrying on as we were and there's no need anymore. I suppose I represent the average baby boomer who grew up post war on meat and two veg and then moved on to world food and roasts on Sundays. I still eat some meat but I have gradually learned to cook with beans, lentils and vegetables and vegan food has started to appear in my local shops which makes it vastly easier to dine on plants whilst cooking some convenience meals. I can go over more and more to eating plants and feed back my important consumer message at the same time. I dropped cows' milk a few years ago and when I tried to go back I found it quite disgusting in comparison to almond and rice milks. Cow's milk is either watery or too rich and comes laced with guilt and an aura of suffering. It is a slow process for me to change but I think most people will struggle to change too but once the government urges us to switch for climate change, meat will become either luxury or a dirty thing past generations relied upon. Then, animals will be left in peace.
When the animal is "ripe" 🤦♀️🤦♂️
what a great conversation
Thanks Ed, really interesting conversations. I'm grateful for the work you do.

why people wants to be vegtard? hahahahahaha yeah is true... aimless and retarded people are more attracted to these cults...
Ed is more disarming than the treaty of versailles
I just went to my first XR meeting yesterday. So excited to get active, spread the truth, and implement change.
Great chats Ed 👍🏻
He actually compared animals to fruit/veg being “ripe” ???
The final interviewee could probably talk his way out of anything. Almost. He never met an Earthling Ed before.
Good conversations. Thanks a lot Ed.
We can always learn something on how Ed talks with people. Just great stuff right here. Love it.
