    In Pakistan, ladies make is roti/chappati/ flat bread for lunch and dinner… in some households this bread is made in breakfast as well… also if we cook the bread in butter/ oil it is called paratha

    I made this this morning, but ran out of regular flour, so used nohut un for the last cup. İt worked out beautifully. As it is just the two of us, I only cooked a few, then tossed the rest of the little balls in flour and froze for future no bread emergencies 😉 çok teşekkürler 😘💓

      You’re welcome dear! Sevindim. You can keep the rest of the dough in the fridge section for couple of days and cook freshly. Or cook all of the dough and freeze as a bread and reheat. Just to give idea

    I’m making these flat breads .. for a month now… much easier than baking bread… tried different recipes … we definitely love it .. I’m melting butter and put mixed herbs in it and garlic … to put on top.. love Turkish recipes … last week I made the stuffed eggplant wow it was a great success!!!
    Thanks for your channel.. please don’t stop! Also enjoy when you’re showing different parts of Istanbul.. it’s a beautiful place!!!

    In Trinidad we make sada roti, which is identical to this except no yogurt is added. However my Mum taught me to add a bit of powdered milk and butter while kneading, to yield a soft roti [which I guess would be slightly similar to adding yogurt]. We eat it for breakfast or dinner, with various cooked vegetables [choka] or just butter and cheese, or even jam.
    I'm going to try your recipe next time in shaa Allah :)

    In India we make it with whole wheat flour adding just a water and bit of oil. Which is healthy. We call it ‘Roti’ and we eat it everyday in lunch. Love from India 🇮🇳❤️

    In Pakistan our “Roti “ dough mostly consists of wheat flour and we only knead it with plain water. That’s what we do but I have heard that some people use milk instead of water and sometimes add “ghee” or butter to get crispier roti’s. When we cook them without oiling the pan or as we say “tawa” they are plain roti’s. When we apply ghee / butter while making it and then also on tawa /pan they become paratha.

    Cooking so early in the morning? Honestly - hats off! Ihc really like to cook, but it wouldn't be for me so early in the morning. 2 stars for so much passion for cooking. I have a "Shawarma" recipe from another channel that I've wanted to do for a long time. This bread seems perfect to me for that.

    It is just as same as 'Roti' we make in Pakistan but we use whole wheat flour..add some salt n just knead it with water....daily use in our lunch n dinner meals.

    This looks similar to “roti” we have in Pakistan except its made only using whole wheat flour kneaded with water.

    I need to come over and get a lesson from you. I made this recipe and they were first bubbles but only bubbles and when I turned it over it just cooked but was flat and never rose up to make the steam bubble in the middle. I tried thinner dough and fatter dough I tried hotter burner and medium burner and none of my 12 pieces Rose like yours. We ate them anyway I rubbed butter all over the outside and they were good but they were not at all like what you made more like a thick cracker. Not sure what I did wrong.

    Yes we eat this bread with main dish. We apply little butter inside when we roll the bread and give it 2 or 3 folds and roll it again.. We apply butter or ghee while it is cooked. Also we prefer wheat flour not the refined wheat flour

    Mine got one big bubble in the center but didn't open all the way around. What did I do wrong? Should I make them thinner or thicker?

      Hi! Did you flip when you begin to see bubbles coming? YOu have to flip and wait for the other side for about 10-2- sec. to have set the side then flip again gently. This way you will keep the bubble inside and then it will begin to puff up. The thickness should be like around half mm or check the video again please. Also let them rest covered after tolling to give time to rise before baking. It also helps
