In a pretty dark spot, these are life savers. I have very little in my fridge and pantry. But I did have (shockingly) a lot of flour, I've been snacking on these since yesterday. Thank you for the upload and it honestly has helped me out to keep food in my belly!
My first batch came out a bit doughy since I didnt crisp them as I should, but the second batch was wonderful. Though I will admit, I did use a tiny bit of olive oil when cooking them as I found it gave it an extra kick in flavor.
dude i hear you on not having any food. im a brown rice cooking expert now. 5lb bags are cheap.
Im there also. I always keep dry beans and rice just in case. I can scrap up $5 for boiling meat(I use smoked turkey.. real cheap), and I can eat that for weeks. Now imma keep flour so I can make these with it.
@@jsimo1431 Yup! I bought a huge bag of rice like a few months ago and still have plenty of rice to cook. Things are a bit better now however, but gosh. These definitely were a treat when there is little to no food.
@@autumnnoel318 Right ther with you too, I also have a good amount of beans and make do with that. I also buy ground beef to mix it up at times. I often try to push veggies into the mix (often actualy if possible) but sometimes...you just cant. The power of the internet, this was great and wholesome.
I hope you two are having a wonderful day and know that things will get better. Lets keep our heads up yeah?
when you cant afford food anymore but there is a bag of flour in the cupboard and a salt shaker. Thanks for this video!
Y u gotta not be able to afford food to make these can’t I just make them and still be able to afford food
@@SupaChillsounds like they were talking about themselves
and butter in the fridge.
@@SupaChillyes. I will so I won't be worried about money later. Live below my means style
It got butter tho, butter is expensive😂😂😂
It saddens me to hear some of you have so little food. GOD placed us here to help one another. I wish I could help you on here. I do help my neighbors often. I am not rich, but I always share with those less fortunate. I pray for those who are going through such a hard time. I REALLY HOPE THINGS HAVE GOTTEN BETTER FOR ALL OF YOU. GOD BLESS ALL
That is what my mom said to me. "Share your good fortune, out of greed. Some day you will receive a gift ... ."
For anyone short on food, please try to move somewhere where you can have some land that is yours. We can put seeds in the ground and food grows in abundance. Everything here is abundant, but out terrible governments try to limit that. Eat the sugar, buy garbage from the store. It's sad what they do to human beings
Just help in your tiny area. If we all do that it will be ok. But we need to grow our foods again. Please. If we all grow one thing. It's in our hands again.
Same here…
Ur self righteous comment doesn't help.
My grandma from Mexico makes these. She keeps them a bit thicker rather than rolled thin… after they are cooked she cuts a slit and then stuffs them with whatever she has…. Chorizo and potatoes… beans… just more butter… she calls them gorditas. 😊 I grew up eating this.
I like how she called them fatties cause ik fs they do fatten anyone and everyone up😂
Reading this comments makes me appreciate life even more. I really hope that all of you will be able to get back on your feet and not having to worry about food or anything else ♡
Literally nothing else to eat, no money for food but this, saved me 😂 I've also never made bread before, it's super awesome how simple and easy it is
I can't wait get this down packed. Thank you!
Growing up my parents always had a bucket of Sugar, a bucket of white Rice, and a Bucket of white Flour.
Now as an adult and in my family of 5 kids and 2 adults, I continued the tradition of a bucket of Sugar, a bucket of white Flour and a bucket of white Rice.
And I can tell you how much these stables of food have helped feed my family when my kids were growing up and their appetites increased yearly. Those items were life saving during those harsh days right before the next paycheck. We were quite creative with a variety of food items we could make from just flour, water, and salt.
Now my kids are grown and a couple have families of their own and have additional food items along with their buckets of sugar, rice and flour.
My family has been running out of money and food supplies. My mom always told me to keep flour on hand and I'm soo thankful to you for posting this video because now I have more ideas on how to feed us until I can earn some more money. You've gained a follower in me.
Praying that our Lord Jesus Christ is moving in your home and through your situation. I pray that things will get better for you and your family. Blessings ❤️
Also keep your eyes out for my little pantry’s people leave stuff in them for each other. There’s a lot we can do with a little check clearance at the supermarket and locks Facebook groups for spices having some onion or raw honey (honey never ever goes bad neither does pasta salt or even sugar can last years) they can change the taste and make anything taste better, I use a lot of beans for protein and a lot of flour doughs for pancakes etc whatever I can moneys non existent right now our bills exploded and I have 4 kids one is 7 months old, my daughter is almost 5 an non verbal autism, and then two boys 12 and 17 an my husband works physical labor 65-75 hours a week, I can’t stand knowing they are hungry so I am doing everything I can think of to not make them feel like we are that poor, my husbands worked 22 years at his job he is not to blame but God gave us others to learn from, and in these times we truly can appreciate what so many take for granted my prayers to everyone, but please when you can suooort your local farmers , many need help and will exchange eggs and food for some labor or even marketing / advertising, without them we won’t be able to eat, and they are going through a lot we’re losing farms constantly so it terrifies me because I’m already not able to get the grocery’s I usually could the prices are just insane.
Recipe would be like this for us folks that we’re a bit confused lol. But,
240g of flour = 1cup + 1/2 cup
150ml of water= 2/3 cup
60g of butter= 1/4 cup
🥂
Which type of flour. Plain or self raising? Thanks.
Thank you ☺️
@@nicolechavez9964 its brushed onto the thinly rolled out pieces before she rolled them up like cinnamon rolls

How are exact and precise measurements more confusing to you than some totally undefined and inaccurate ones?
Was looking for something i coukd make with a little flour. Thank you for this. My kiddos will enjoy helping make these. Times are so tough. Like i never thought id need this. Unreal.
Thank you so much for this recipe I literally only had these ingredients left in my house and was super hungry and didn’t have money to buy anything else so thank you for this I can eat on these for a while 🙌🏾
I feel u hun, same spot right now
Everything you said is what I'm going through. I'll pray for you as I hope you pray for me. Hang in there & remember it can always be worse. honestly I've been reading through the comments and there's some strange comfort in knowing that I'm not alone but horribly sad at the same time because of the circumstances. Thank you for your comments it gave me the confidence to speak up too.
This should not be happening in the U.S.A.
Illegals are being treated better than Americans & its OUR Tax💰💰 being used to fly them wherever they want to go, live in upscale hotels being fed with OUR tax💰 & yet they are complaining that they want their kind of food. Not one American home should have empty kitchen cabinets & refrigerators🤬
Same here. Life-saver this. Fills you up and cheap to survive on when buying things just is not an option.

Thank you 😏😏💞
this is called roti in india we eat this in breakfast, lunch and in dinner😊
Yes! This is Sada Roti here in Guyana.
Goes well with curry! We go to Indian restaurants here regularly to eat this. You can even add eggs or vegetables inside them for an even yummier twist. 😋👍
What kind of flour is best for that recipe?
In malaysia we called it "Roti canai" same as u.. For the breakfast too..
Love this with veges! was wondering what i could play around with in the house when i bumped into this video.
Add butter to your title, thanks...
Way too easy, cost effective especially for hard times, though great for any time. No way any one could mess up. Love the strait forward recipe as the person said below. Quick and simple can still taste great. You know how to make a simple video also. Thanks bunches.
Living in poverty has left a huge effect on me and my 4 siblings, my mom works overtime alot so i had to cook, these are nice and easy to make
Made these last night for thee first time, thanks for showing how. This will not be the last time I make them because they are delicious!
awesome! I’m so happy to hear that:)
I just made these today, July 10, 2023, and they came out absolutely fantastic!!! First time making them. I didn’t have butter so I
substituted it with olive oil. I also scrambled 2 eggs to put in the middle of them and ate it like a breakfast burrito. Yum! Yum!😊😊😊
Thank you for the extra ideas... they're more helpful sometimes than the videos
I made these for my husband and I with some fajita meat, bellpepper and shredded cheese. This is a MUST make if you're interested in crafting some hand-made breads. Ours turned out a little thicker than probably prefered by most, but they were like the Chalupa's from Taco Bell in thickness and taste. I will be making these regularly for friends and family!!! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, it is simple yet very tasty!!
🥰 thank you for this lovely comment! I’m so happy you enjoyed it!

It's literally a homemade flour tortilla
Just made these this afternoon for friends coming over to enjoy a curry. I added a little oil to the mix, so easy to do, bit time consuming but turned out soft and flaky and everyone loved them. Thanks xx
II’m just seeing this in 2024. May the Lord continue to bless all that’s able to help others. Much love to all ❤
Easy to follow and the music is such a nice change from all the other “noisy” videos. Love it!!
thank you so much! glad you like it :)
My husband loves this type of bread! We normally only have it in restaurants, so I’m excited to know how to make it for him. How surprised he will be! Thank you for sharing. From a viewer in Maryland USA ❤
Instead of rolling them out you can use a tortilla press (I made my own) and they come out nice and consistent thickness and almost perfectly round. I use a large plastic bag slit down the sides and the tortilla can be peeled easily on to your hand to place in the pan. Works slick!
I've been buying these from the grocery store. You have inspired me to make my own. I think these will taste better too. I'm glad I found this video. 🙂
Have you heard or seen ASMR? this video should also be tagged as ASMR, to help grow the channel as well as to help many people relax. This is one of the most relaxing videos I have ever seen. I wanted it to last longer! The bread looks amazing as well! Thank you for this beautiful video! 🥰
Made these tonight with my daughter, they weren't brilliant but we did it and they tasted great! I'm definitely going to cook more and hopefully get better at them, thankyou for sharing this recipe 😊
i never know if only flour +water + salt could be made into something edible ... this is -literally- my life saver ! thank u🙏
Well it can't. You also need butter
Thanks this was just what I was looking for ❤ I was dying for any kind of homemade bread I could make right now and it was delicious with my lentil soup! I've never really rolled dough before so that took me a long time and I couldn't get it as thin as yours. I'll do better next time. Love your video thanks ❤
I’m so happy it turned out well and you enjoyed it! hope you will try my other recipes :) btw. you made me crave a lentil soup, I haven’t eaten it in so long!
Look up no knead bread. It's very easy to make. Flour, water, salt, and a tiny amount of yeast let to set for 12-24 hours will make dough for a good, sandwich capable bread
😁
The lentils might be called dal makhni check my spelling
Yellow lentils or even green work. I have abundance of canned collards, foraged onions that taste like garlic, and potatoes. I add a few tablespoons of Tikka from a jar and it's very filling. The only thing missing was the naan bread. Thank you 🎉!
❤
Love the straightforward presentation...and the soothing, nostalgic background music that brought back fond memories of a time when things (in my life, at least) were straight-off down-to-earth, just like the breads in this video.
Many thanks!🙂
I can't stand the music. Aaaaaaaaagh!!!!!
😁
My mom always told me to keep Flour, Sugar, Rice, Eggs, Milk, Salt and Pepper in my pantry....u can always make a filling meal when times get hard...especially those with kids❤❤
I wish she would have told me to get a rolling pin tho😂😂😂
Love this simple and easy delicious recipe, I will definitely have a go at making these tonight. 💗👍
My dad used to make something similar to these when we were young. He called them "fritters, but I think he stopped at the point where each was extremely thin and pan fried them to the same appearance, nicely browned on each side. He's now 96 and doesn't cook anymore since we lost mom at 91, four years ago. I can still almost taste these. Fritters were a "treat" for me because I have allergies and was never able to eat pancakes because of my allergies to eggs (and milk). Think I'm going to have to try making them. BTW, we spread margarine over them and rolled them up after they were fried. Thanks!
Margarine is horrible for your health, use olive oil instead.
@@leonardonetagamer Yes SIR!...lol. I like olive oil, but I fear the experience won't be the same without the flavor of the margarine added. (Margarine doesn't taste as good as it used to either.)
@@leonardonetagamer kerrygold butter is much better

Yes this saved me too. Had no bread just flour and butter and this was a great lifesaver for me too.😘😘😘
These look delicious! Probably more time then ide want to spend, unless for a special occasion though. I think you should add butter in the title, as well as salt and flour.
It’s SALT FLOUR AND WATER

I'm making these as we speak and I already tasted one and I'll no doubt be making these a lot from now on. Thank you so much for this recipe. Love to you and everyone 🥰💜
Title should say 4 ingredients though, flour, water, salt AND butter.
Exactly 💯
I am here for the lack of sugar so I don't care about the butter
This looks fantastic I can't wait to try this. Thank you.
Butter is not an ingredient?
you are really a lifesaver for this, love you so much and do keep up with recipes that’s low in budget and simple !!!! THANK YOUU!!!
This helps a lot, for those who are struggling, I realized I didn’t have butter but I did use a light amount of oil and it works great- Also I ate this bread along with some 6$ ramen, stomach is full, thank you so much for the upload
I have made this. I made some update off course :) I spreaded garlic puree in the surface before first rolling stage. It is barely scented but the recipe overall came out amazing. Crispy and fluffy. Thank you.
We called it flour bread as an old time southern breakfast. We made it thicker and ate with syrup
I’m going to try that today. I think I’m going to add a tiny bit of baking soda to see if it rises the bread a bit.
Looks middle Eastern, I'm going to make it. Thank you.😊
Thank you for sharing!
First video I've found with metric measurements - makes it easier in the UK, thank you and Shalom, I'll be using this for the festival of Unleavened Bread :)
Loved this, thanks for sharing it!
It’s very similar to how 🫓 chapati bread is prepared, use chapati flour and Ghee in place of the butter- my dad was the best chapati maker ever , loved watching this video! Thank you 🙏🏻
Can't wait to try these. They look delicious and easy to make.

Just made these, so delicious! Added little cream cheese on top and so yummy
I've made these twice already, and I love them 🫓😋today I made them with a bit of cheese 🧀 and everyone says they're delicious!
These are a lifesaver when I have nothing else to eat. I learnt the recipe as a kid and now in my twenties have probably free-styled it over a 200 times.
I’ve put whatever in this recipe- tomato paste, chilli flakes, sesame seeds, onion bits, any spice I want- it still holds (to some degree)
I also skip steps a lot when I’m in a pinch and don’t have butter, it’s a little rough but honestly, it’s moments like those where I’m just grateful to feel full.
I was watching Chopped when I heard about this bread, excited to try this. I've been interested in learning how to make Frybread and Naan Bread too.
Thank you for the recipe. I needed a tasty new bread for Passover/feast of unleavened bread, and this was perfect. Everyone loved them. Super easy and delicious.
🥰 I’m so happy to hear that! thank you for sharing this with me, it made my day!
My Mom was a country girl from Kentucky. We grew up with this bread, another bread she made in the oven from flour water and salt and corn bread. All were delicious
My mom was a Kentucky girl too. Her grandmother was 1/2 Indian. She would make what I coined sticky bread. I wish I had her recipe. I am pretty sure it was only flour, water, salt and baking powder. I just don’t know the amounts of each ingredient. She would fry the bread in a cast iron skillet.
I love this, thank you for sharing!
Thank you. Big hugs for your kind soul. I really appreciate this.
I love bread since then in my childhood. I bet I inherited this with my Dad who used to love bread also and could make his lifestyle with only bread ♥️ this is a great opportunity for me I love this and atm doing it exactly. Thanks
Everyone loves bread even if they don’t know it
Thank you for the video! Is it okay to prepare the dough the night before, store the spirals in the refrigerator, and then do the final rolling out and cooking in the morning?
Gunna surprise my Spanish mom with these and see if maybe I can bring a slice of home to us since we can’t see family too often. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe
Perfect simple and no fuss flatbread. Thank you from London 🇬🇧
When you just fried the round it reminded me a bit of when I grew up on a similar bread. We'd just make it like a thick pancake mix and fry it up. Great for "sopping" up gravies( like tomato gravy), or picking up bites of food much like using a piece of tortilla. Heck, I still make it and just use yellow mustard to dip it in sometimes. If you use self rising flour it will make a thicker piece of bread.
Yes!!! I just commented a about this. Our bread was thicker and bigger served with gravy and onions. It was (for us) one of our poor man meals. I loved it as a kid. Haven't had it since I was like 15. This video made me wanna try making it.
I'm getting southern Ohio or western Kentucky here wit the tomato gravy an all ✌🏼
