From someone who's baked bread for almost 60 years i say this: If you want to eat bread hot from the oven, make rolls. Never cut a loaf of bread straight from the oven. It NEEDS to cool to finish the baking process, otherwise it gums up because you let all the steam and moisture out before it was ready. You can always warm it again later but let it finish its baking first! Try 2 loaves and compare. BTW, greek yogurt and self rising flour kneaded slightly, made into balls, then flattened and cooked on the stove with a lid gives you English muffins.

2 Ingredient Sandwich Bread Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper on the long side only with sides hanging over (handles). In a large bowl, sift 3 cups self rising flour. To your flour, add 1 3/4 cup regular vanilla flavored yogurt (do not use Greek yogurt). Using a silicone spatula, stir until we’ll combined. If your dough is too stiff, add a small amount of yogurt and blend in. Place dough in prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake in preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. If top starts to get too brown, shield with aluminum foil. Remove from pan using the parchment handles. Allow to cool before slicing.

Tried this with vanilla yoghurt and found it very sweet. Thought it strange to use a sweet yoghurt so I tried it again with plain yoghurt and a pinch of salt; gorgeous. It took a bit of converting from cups to grams etc. For those in the UK 420gr. of flour, 394gr. of Natural Plain Yoghurt, cook at 180°C (Gas Mark3)
@@portlandbreadfruit I would think the only reason not to use Greek is that it might be too thick to mix well with that much flour. (not liquid enough...) One could probably use Greek if you cut back on the Greek and add buttermilk, milk, or cream to thin it out to plain yogurt consistency,...to equal the 1 3/4 cup that's called for. (we only have plain Greek in our house and don't want the sugar in Vanilla)

This did not work for me at all. My dough was a very small amount and didn't even fill half my loaf pan. I used the regular yogurt but I substitute yogurt for "so-delicious" vanilla yogurt. My dough was a bit dry so I added a lil more yogurt. My dough still didn't fill my loaf pan. My bread came out very dense, damp, and had no color at all. Bread was still white in color. The smell was amazing but I couldn't eat it at all. I tried improvising by slicing it and toasting it but it was extremely dense as if it couldn't cook anymore. I was sad to waste both ingredients. I will try this again but need to come up with something different to keep it from being dense

If you wet your parchment paper it will fit into your loaf pan much easier and stay put until you're ready for it! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe ❤ I've been making sourdough for several years now but sometimes you just want some regular white bread 🍞 I absolutely love every video I've ever seen of yours. Your tips are truly life changing, thanks a million!
I think this will be more like a cakey type dessert bread. It looks delicious, but it will be sweeter with the vanilla yogurt. If you want the taste of regular white bread, I would use plain yogurt, a bit of salt, maybe a tiny bit of sugar, but that vanilla yogurt is sweet. I am trying to think of some add ins like cheese, and spices, to make it savory or sweet. 😋
Pam, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe. I made it and it turned out great! Not only do I love it because it is an alternative to buying bread but since I have been making my own bread for a while, this recipe saves even more money with just 2 ingredients. I have used the bread with just butter and also made a grilled cheese sandwich with it. AMAZING! I love how the crust comes out. Since then I have taken your recipe on a culinary experimental adventure. I made this loaf and added nutritional yeast to give it a cheesy flavor and added diced chiles to it. Just today I made a cinnamon raisin loaf using your recipe. I soaked the raisins before adding them to the flour and cinnamon. I meant to use plain whole milk yogurt so I also added some light brown sugar. Accidentally I grabbed the vanilla whole milk yogurt but it didn't turn out too sweet at all - mildly sweet. I wish I could add a photo to this comment so you could see how well the cheese/chile bread and the cinnamon raisin bread turned out. I have a small chest freezer that I can make more loaves and preserve. I want to do a cranberry orange zest loaf. I am curious to see how it would turn out if I make it a different shape almost like a round flat loaf with tomatoes, rosemary, and Greek olives. So many options to experiment with! Again, THANK YOU!
@jacquelineshepard6438, thank you for all the different ways you made this bread. I’m going to try some. You can bake a round loaf in a cast iron skillet. I made a mozzarella and garlic loaf in mine. Came out great!

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Thank you. UK here. Also why not Greek yoghurt
Thank you for this. I was a bit confused because Pam didn't say if she used fat free yoghurt. What did you use please?
@@JW-wq8dhI used full flavor vanilla yogurt.
@@portlandbreadfruitI believe Greek yogurt is basically sour as the bread won’t be sweet.
I came across your video late last night when I couldn’t sleep. I’ve been wanting to make home made bread for a while but didn’t have a bread machine. I ordered the flour and yogurt and had my groceries delivered this morning. I couldn’t wait to try this recipe…. You made it look so easy. Well, I just took my loaf out of the oven 30 minutes ago and needless to say--I am now holding you responsible for my dietary well being. Lol Just kidding. You were not joking about the deliciousness of this recipe. My husband loves it as well. I will be following you for more goodness. Thank you for sharing your knowledge….now excuse me while I go cut another slice and watch another one of your videos. 😊❤

I've been following her for years and I promise you won't be disappointed. She's AMAZING and BRILLIANT!!!
Did you cut too soon? Seems like you’re trying g to hold it together… Can’t wait to try this weekend

Pam, crumple up your parchment, so it will stay in the pan easier. It’s an amazing tip!

Well isn't parchment paper coated in silicone? Do we really know if its healthy for us?

There is nothing better than bread fresh from the oven! Just a little butter. I am going to make this. Thank you, Miss Pam ❤❤
Try Kellygold butter on fresh bread. It is to die for!
@@TexasRose50 Kerrygold butter is dangerous. I find myself making excuses to eat baked potatoes just to eat more of that butter lol….
@Boredchinchilla, I use it all over the place. I fry my eggs in it. I bake with it. Pull a cookie sheet out of the oven, all I can smell is the butter. So sweet! Since I’m trying to cut back on sweet things, I drown my toast in it. Or I mix it with honey and make a sandwich. There’s endless ways to intake this butter! And I enjoy every minute of it!
I have a bread machine and I have so much fun experimenting with different flavors. My favorite so far is the green and black olive bread. I shread the olives in my little processor and just add them to the dough once it's in the bread machine.Then I turn it on and let it bake. My machine came with this big book of bread and I've been going through it one recipe at a time. :}
Pam, I upgraded the bread a little bit. I added 2 1/4 cups of yogurt, half teaspoon of cinnamon and 3 1/2 cups of flour. I folded in blueberries and cinnamon into yogurt and then into the bread. I cannot wait until the ladies in the other apartments try this it came out so good also made for a bigger bread

Cook bread half way before freezing. When needed, let taw in the frig then, cook for the other half time.
@jacquelineshepard6438, thank you for all the different ways you made this bread. I’m going to try some.

Oh my goodness Pam.....I made this bread last week and it was so delicious my husband and I ate the entire loaf in 2 days! It came out perfect. After i removed it from oven while it was still hot i took a stick of butter and rolled it over the top, sides and bottom of loaf to help soften the crust. Then after the loaf completely cooled and after we'd already eaten half the loaf...(couldnt help it, it was so delicious) I put remainder of loaf into a large ziplock baggie and set it on my counter. Next day the crust was totally soften and the bread was even more delicious the next day. We couldn't stop eating it. The entire loaf gone after just 2 days.

Awesome! This is just the report I was looking for ✅ I'll be making this for my weekly break and sounds like I found a new go-to 😋
It looks more like a dessert type bread, like banana bread would be, more like cakey. It is probably delicious, but it will have a sweet flavor, but that might be nice with PBJ, otherwise, you could use some non flavored yogurt with a bit of salt. It does look good though. 😋
So many Americans would be blown away that sandwich bread in the rest of the world is lightly savoury, the carbohydrate sugar content already more than high enough to make bread something to watch out for in diet plans like Weight Watchers.
