Mary's Nest Thank you! I will try to remember to let you know. I just made a French loaf today so it will be a little while. I enjoy your videos.
Mary this is the best bread I have ever made soft, tasty, beautiful size loaf my favorite bread recipe very easy wish I could show you pictures
Mary.. I just have to tell you that I made my first batch of your bread today (03/09/20). It came out beautifully and delicious. My husband tore into it right out of the oven because he could not wait. I was so happy, praising you and Abba Father because it is my first time ever to have a perfect loaf of bread homemade in the oven. I use to have a bread machine. It was fair, but was dense a lot of the time and I didn't really do any of the work except throwing all the ingredients into the pan and the machine did it all. I was a bit nervous because my kitchen is not warm. I live in South Dakota. I turned my little convection oven on warm setting and put the dough on top of the oven (not inside), but it gave it enough warmth to make it rise perfectly. Bread is my weakness, though. It will be difficult not to make this all the time. Love your channel and your sweet disposition. You explained everything so well and thoroughly. Thanks again. ♥

@@MarysNest How sweet of you are to write all this message to me. I surely have been perusing your playlists and your site. I haven't yet gotten into the FB group, but it sounds interesting. Yes, I have tried to cook traditionally most of the time, making things from scratch, grow our own garden. I see a lot of videos you have that I need to watch. Bread was always the most difficult for me to grasp how to get it right. I've wasted a lot of ingredients until NOW!. I am so excited and so happy that I've come across your channel. God bless you too, sweet friend. ♥
I truly believe someone needs to discover you and give you your own show. I simply cannot get enough of your videos. You are an amazing instructor, down to earth, very appealing to the masses, and even give alternatives if we don't have everything to complete the recipe. Seriously, someone needs to get you out to the masses.

Amen! I’d watch!
Absolutely agree!!! 100% I'd pay a fortune for a book written by Mary. ❤❤❤
We discovered her. Contact a station. Recommend her for TV
My 1st time. So idk yet
Oh my!! ..I totally agree. Clear and concise and humble too.
When I was a young married woman I loved making bread and coffee cake. I loved the small of yeast breads baking. I haven't baked bread in a long, long time. I'm 84 now and the bread you made looks so good that I'm planning on baking bread again! Thanks Mary.
Cool! Good for you! Hope it turned out.
Sorry all the talking omgosh!
I agree Darlene…and she makes it look so fun and easy to learn. I am 67…my grandmother and mother and I all loved crumb coffee cake…hopefully with lots of cinnamon! Nice to ‘meet’ you Darlene and good luck with the bread.
@@Timbergal Lots of cinnamon sounds good to me too Terri!! I'm gonna watch this again right now! I would love to bake again like I used to! Nice "meeting" you too!
That's Awesome!
I cannot thank you enough for this video alone, you’re my new cooking mama! We were highly processed, in the city and miserable and sick. We moved overnight to a farm and are getting away from everything and going traditional.. I wasn’t taught this growing up. My Gmal would teach me here and there but other than that.. no. My mom and dad were heavily on drugs and I didn’t learn traditional values. So I’m truly thankful for this one video alone, because now I’m watching everything to learn it all. ❤
I don't know if anyone has ever told you this before but you're the female Bob Ross of cooking lol. Love your calming voice and wonderful recipes. Thank you for all you do keep things simple and preservative free.
When I heard her I said mmmm a young Julia Childs. 😂love her voice
A calming voice in kitchen Gordon didn’t get the memo 😅
Well, shoot, now your user name got me wanting to learn how to make ginger bread! I hope that's easy too, because I still have memories of eating fresh hot ginger bread with melted butter on top. And the store-bought (dough or batter), something tells me it doesn't taste the same as I remembered.
I agree, steady voice, calm positive attitude
This is the best compliment ever!!
Hi Mary,
I am Chinese from Singapore. I came to the US in 1969. Married to an American. Have been living in the US for 50 years, I always considerate myself a proud American.
When I first arrived, I spoke very limited English. I am a cook-a-holic ! I would read cook books like a novel. I think I learned my English from reading many cook books everyday. My English is still not perfect and still learning.
In my younger days, (in the 70s ) I baked bread from scratch once a week. My late husband would eat half of the loaf as soon as I took it out of the oven. Yes, no store bought bread can compare to a freshly baked bread at home, and the whole kitchen smell wonderful!
I still cook a lot but didn’t bake any bread for years. Recently, I came across your cooking Channel on RUclips. I was happy to discover your no knead bread recipes and surprised there are such thing as no knead bread! I baked one today, it was very successful and boy... beautiful and delicious! Wish I can post a few photos to show you.
Your instruction was very clear, you have a lovely calming voice and you always keep a smile while explaining everything.
only a passionate cook would do these laborious videos.
Thank you for sharing your awesome recipes. Keep up the good work!
Loved your story and thanks for sharing
did you have a choice because my great aunt was brought back without a choice so long ago either way i'm glad you lived a long happy life.
What a nice story and thoughtful comment! God bless!
@@iloveschicken6527 Thank you🙏🙏🙏
@@christinerose4839 Thank you.…🙏🙏🙏
Maaaan, this bread is unbelievable!!! It’s so moist and delicious. I’ve never had bread this good. 👍🏾
I've been cooking for over 50 years and every time I watch one of your videos I learn something new. Thanks, Mary - you are an excellent teacher!
I love love love when you say, “don’t worry about…..” and then explain how something is supposed to look while preparing it. For us newbies we (okay, me) tend to panic with little things like sticky, wet dough! Thank you for your kindness and thorough explanations Mary.
Trust me, it isn't just you. I learned the hard way, when I wanted to make my mother's cherry cookies, that I was only supposed to put the chopped cherries in there and not the juice with it!
Just finished making bread following your instructions. I have struggled for YEARS to get good sandwich bread, so having a no knead, low mess, sandwich bread that my chronically ill self can make between teaching kiddo and other household duties is a GAME CHANGER. Thank you!!
I'm from India mother of 4 boys, my sons love bread, I recently bought an Oven, and have come in search of learning to bake bread, usually I skip if the explanation is elaborate, urs is long but very sweet listening to you. 😊I'm going to bake bread by your guidance, I believe it's going to be an awesome one
Love your smile sister
Thats good that you have started exploring #poliasiafoods
I have confidence that all the love you pour into baking will make your bread wonderful.
You are good at what you do no doubt but I feel that you can work while you talk
Your videos can be shorter
I've even put my bowl in an empty warmed clothes dryer to get the dough to rise! It works really good 😃
😂😂😂 whatever works. I never thought of that
Now that’s a first. 😊 I heat up a cup of water in my microwave for 90 seconds. I leave it in there with my pan of dough.
Oh, that's an awesome idea if I ever get a place that has its own washer and dryer! 😊
Why not just barely warm the oven then turn it off…. Dryer is not for me… bread may taste like Snuggle
@ItsMefromSnuffys at the time of my comment, I only had plastic bowls so they would have melted in a heated oven
Well Mary today has been a binge watch day of Mary’s Nest. You rock. I’m 72 and you are truly teaching me so much. Thank you
I like this recipe cause of the no knead method. Was going to make it today but no time left for the rising n baking maybe tomorrow or the next day. We are going over to a friend's house to record a song my husband is singing then after that is dinner❤
I *just* made this! Eating a warm piece w butter 😍 This is the first loaf of bread I have made from scratch that is edible! Thank you, Mary! ✨🙏✨
Oh my goodness I'm waiting for the bread to rise the first time I can't wait to taste it...love homemade bread 🍞 🙏🍞🙏🍞
I want to do this with whole wheat flour since I generally gravitate toward wheat bread. And maybe if I throw some seeds in there since I'd like that kind of Orowheat bread... 😊❗️
Mary, you sweet sweet lady you!! I wanted to tell you that I've LOOOVED coming for most of my adult life. When it comes to anything involving yeast, I'm an absolute failure. I feel like a kid running to you with my at project to hang on the fridge! I made this and it ACTUAL TURNED OUT RIGHT!! I was so excited I posted it on Facebook and told everybody I've ever met. Thank you so much!! You are an amazing teacher and I couldn't appreciate it more!
I bought Mary’s Modern Pioneer cookbook for each of my daughters as a Christmas gift. One week later a daughter just messaged me and all her sisters that she just made her first loaf of bread (with a pic I swear I could smell) from her new cookbook. THANKS MARY!! ♥️♥️♥️
Ive been baking bread off and on since the 70s even using a wood burning cook stove. Id like to say you did a very thorough, clear concise instructional on bread for newbies. Hat off to you.
Can you tell me if it’s better to use active or instant yeast? I’ve been so anxious to try baking bread. I’ve never attempted it before.
@@benicio1967 hi dear. In everything Ive learned from longtime bakers you can actually interchange the yeast types. It was said that Active dry yeast was to be proofed in the liquid portion of your bread recipe but that was really to find out if your yeast was fresh and able to cause a good rise on your bread. The Instant is mixed right into the dry products. When I was a beginner bread maker it was the mid 70s and the thought was to proof your Active since there was no Instant yeast or Bread Machine yeast that I knew of in Iowa. It was you and the dough.
Check the recipe you want to use and see what yeast it asks for. If its Active go ahead and follow the recipes instructions by using the liquid to proof in. If its Instant mix it in the dry ingredients.
You can do no- knead bread or kneaded bread depending on how much you want to give your hands some therapy. I had to buy a mixer with a bread hook due to both hands having had surgery for carpal tunnel. I also have a bread machine that I use to just make the dough so then I can make cinnamon rolls or a specialty bread. Years ago I was a kneading freak making bread weekly and taking it to my boyfriends Italian family since they brought me so many Italian meals and the grandfather helped me with my half an acre garden.
Making all that bread by hand is what really helped me learn. Back then there was not all the terminology, bread machines or proofing bowls, just bread instructions.
Good luck and find a recipe that says beginner bread making. By the way, King Arthur Bread Company has bakers that will answer your questions about any problems you are having. I used to get all my bread flour from them until that type flour became hard to find. I use the flour the recipe says to but if it says Bread Flour and I dont have any I use my Nuts.com High Gluten Flour and mix it with AP flour.
. I live in Texas now, up by the Red River in the country and have all my food products shipped to me or order from a grocery 30 minutes away. The pandemic hasnt messed with me much since I have a garden but boy did the flour shortage cause me problems.
Let me know how your bread comes out Im real interested in knowing which yeast you used and how you set it up. Remember to keep all yeasts cooled in refrigerator unless you live in some area that is cool and drive.
Remember if you are using bulk yeast and recipe calls for a packet, Google how many teaspoons are in a packet. I believe it 2 1/4 tsp but dont make lie. ( Lol.)
Good luck and have fun.
I agree.
I use a casserole pan with an inch of hot water in it. I set my bowl in the casserole and it keeps it warm.
Mary you are an absolute blessing!! I followed your recipe to the letter and it was amazing!!. Of the 2 loaves I made I got a single warm slice. My teenage boys snagged a loaf and my hubby took one to work. Apparently it was a hit there as well...thank you from the bottom of my baking challenged heart for helping me make amazing bread. An added bonus I made these in my toaster oven and for once in my baking life the smoke alarms kept their mouths shut. I couldn't hit subscribe fast enough!
Oh Jessica!! I am SO happy to hear this!! And WELCOME!! So glad you’re here!! Love, Mary
Mary's Nest .. you are now my #1 favorite RUclips channel!
Your presentation, personality, knowledge and the sheer variety of topics that you cover and teach are phenomenal.
Thank you!
Mary, I’m amazed at your ability to teach…much less, cook. You are a natural. I’m not an accomplished cook…even at 73 now. Love learning everything I can from you. You need your own television program. Big Blessings to you!
she is giving us secrets that truly will help us all. you can learn to love cooking with confidence and spread the word telling folks to get back to basics. i spend too much money on what i buy from stores like whole foods, sprouts and orhers when could make these and much better! Love my all natural whole food stores but love to generate my own using good ingredients and make family and friends smile!
You are just the most darling sweet lady I've ever seen. Thanks for all your kitchen teachings. I've learned so much

Mary you are a national treasure. Thank you are sharing the traditional kitchen with all of us. I’m 76, I cook for my husband and I daily. While I have been a traditional cook all my life. However, I’ve shared you channel with several friends and family who need to start the journey. Bless you and your sweet hubby. Best wishes from western NY
I made this last night, my husband is SO happy! We aren't leaving the house so this was much needed. Thank you.
Dear Mary,
Your videos have taken me back to the pre-TikTok era of recipe shows when things were slow and thorough. I have been baking my no-knead bread for many years, but today I couldn't find my old recipe and forgot the measurements, since we have become gluten-free. I came across your video and I loved it! I don't know why, but it felt so nostalgic.
Thank you for sharing your delicious and easy-to-follow recipes.
Mary I'm making my bread 50/50 for moistness mostly. As a diabetic I have to be aware and this mix is good. I have also added 1 1/4 cups of raisins, about 7/8 tblsp of Cinnamon and I substitute the white sugar with a rounded tblsp of Brown sugar and it makes a darn good Raisin bread.
I made this bread for my family. They all told me that this is the best bread I've made so far. So, this is now my go to recipe. We do a lot better with sandwich rolls than sliced bread - even for toast. Next batch is rising, we'll see how it goes. Wish me luck!
Wow wow, just cut and tasted my first bake bread, i am amazed, it taste delicious ❤❤❤❤
We’re very fortunate to have the best seat in the house for watching your videos. The close-ups/overhead shots are great. You’re also very encouraging to us first time bakers. Thank you for a great recipe! I can’t wait to try it!
A gentle video which doesn’t even try to shame those who know nothing about baking bread
Watching you from Nigeria. Thanks so much for tutoring me. I love bread and didn't know how to make bread but today I have learned. Thankful.
Like many people trying to survive the plague I came here for something nice and easy to bake with the kids.
I am completely inexperienced.
We’ve already made another bread on her channel with great success, so thought we’ll give this a go.
I saw that the video was about 30 minutes and thought, oh my god, I can’t sit through this. It’s way too long.
I’ve now seen this entire video twice, lol.
This will be our project today. Hopefully I don’t butcher it.
Thank you for these videos, they let a hack like myself make nice things for the family.
Keep up the great work!
Keep me posted!! Hope it all goes well. Love, Mary
Mary's Nest the bread was amazing! I feel like I’m cheating at baking when I watch your videos.
I’ve tried your Irish soda bread which was insanely easy as well.
I’ll have to go through all of your videos to see what else I can manage to make.
Excellent channel, absolutely excellent.
I have already recommended your videos to friends who’s mouth I had watering when I showed them the bread I made.
Keep up the excellent work! You have a new subscriber!
I made this bread yesterday and it came out great. I've been making bread for many years but this will now be one of my go-to recipes. Thanks for sharing it Mary. One change I make was to transfer the batter to a large, well greased pyrex bowl for rising so I wouldn't have a problem with it sticking to the bowl.
Hello Mary!! I am so glad I found your nest, my bread used to come out very hard until I watched you recipe, now I make super soft bread, much better than the store bought bread. I can't believe I am making this soft bread, this is like a miracle and it is such a simple technique of kneading the bread as taught by you, Mary you are a genius cook and teacher.
I just made this!! Oh my! Smells divine and can’t wait to taste!! I’m an experienced baker, but also I’m 71 and sometimes just want easy! THANK YOU for all you share! I’ve been following you since last year when I discovered you during the lock down. Blessings and hugs from California!
You’re the best at teaching I wouldn’t be surprised if you said hey, I used to be a teacher or I am a teacher. Your detailed in your comments and that’s awesome for beginners.
I have taught how to make traditional foods for about 20 years. I learned from my mother, and then I taught other people. Love, Mary.
I like to try making all different breads. You are a great teacher. I’ve made bread for 25 years and your hints are fantastic.
This bread is so easy, so delicious and has the perfect texture for sandwich bread. My family loved it. I've been making bread for years but this is my new go-to sandwich bread recipe.
Been making bread for over 50 years. When I was broke I use to make it for my four kids breakfast. Buttered both sides and browned in a cast iron skillet and topped with cinnamon sugar or home made jelly. They didn't know I was broke and they loved it. They use to brag to their friends what they had for breakfast and their friends who had a different living situation use to get on their parents that they wanted home made bread with home made jelly. The parents would then get on me for spoiling my kids. I use to giggle about it. Times are a little better now and my kids are grown with their own families but every time I make bread I think of those days and smile. Yet I want to thank you because as long as I have made bread, I have not known the difference in yeast and always used what I had. Now I understand why some times the bread didn't rise as well as the last. Thank you for sharing. I also keep my yeast in the freezer in a Locknlock and take out what I need and put it right back so it doesn't get wet from condensation. It seems to last over a year or more. I keep my gluten in the the freezer for my bread machine also. That too seems to work. So I appreciate your video and am going to watch your other videos too. Thank you for the recipe. Stay well.
stretch4
stretch49, I really enjoyed and loved your story. Baking is great with great stories!
Thank you for sharing your story. I keep my yeast in the freezer in an old orange Tupperware container. I guess from the 70's. Now there is a yeast shortage. I found a 1 lb pack in my freezer this weekend that expired in 2007. It worked like it was new.
What a great mom you were and see 💗
So sweet of you to share Madam! I absolutely feel the satisfaction you might have felt then and now too!
I can’t believe it… I just baked my own bread 🤩 as a first timer with average baking skills, I did it thanks to you …!!!!! Turned out soft with a nice crust and crumb 🥳
I especially love how "anyone" can do this. You make this non-intimidating for us non-bakers. And in this time of Coronavirus, making a low-tech load of bread is very important. Thanks!!
I truly love your recipes, simple with perfect outcome. I have to skip forward sometimes though because I find your explanations are way too long, and I know that some people love that but brief and to the point will help busy people who don’t have 25 minutes, your recipes are the best though!
I’ve been making a lot of bread during this time of COVID-19. This looks sooooo easy. I’m going to give it a try, also. She is so calm!
I agree. Virus should be called. Learn to cook virus.. Lol. I have bisquits down. 1 hand. In 15 min. Mix to oven easy...now I want my own bread.
Im making my own lotions too.
She teaches us so much in these videos , I’m so grateful for her!
I’m going to make her cream cheese recipe it looks so easy! I just discovered this talented woman today 😊
She's like a sweet mother. 💥😊🙏
Made the cream cheese so easy to make.
Thanks!
Thank YOU!! Love, Mary
My first sandwich bread and it came out fantastic. I did half the ingredients just in case I messed up. Hoping to make this often enough to not have to buy store bread. Nice lesson!
I just love hearing you talk. Your voice is so calming and sweet. You would be such a wonderful teacher. Thank you for such a non-overwhelming tutorial.😘👍🏼
Thank you for the kind words!!❤️🤗❤️
This is the VERY FIRST bread out of many that I have cooked that actually made a homemade sandwich bread that is not dense and heavy. I just do not like bread that is not light for sandwiches or yeast rolls. This is perfect!!!
Mary, I followed your bread recipe, and I have baked all kinds of bread. I'm fairly new to baking breads, and know how to make low carb bread such as almond, coconut flour bread, and I even tried a white bread before this video on my own fully kneaded one. My wife and I invested in a Kitchen Aid mixer, we bought it last night and I could not wait any longer to give your method a try. I did use half of everything in your recipe because I only had 1 loaf pan and I don't eat much white bread due to my system has a hard time with carbs and sugar. I normally bake Almond flour bread, I use other sweets, and I used the Dry Active Yeast instead of the instant. My wife eats minimal breads, however I used a single tablespoon of regular sugar in following your recipe because my wife don't like my sweetners alternatives, When I baked it she walked into the kitchen and was so excited because she knew I was making white bread. I used the kitchen Aid counter top mixer because I knew it would do a great job, boy talk about saving time wow! I mixed it in 3 minutes, the dough was ready in 3 minutes it came together so fast, I almost got ahead of myself because I was used to doing it with a wooden handle spoon. I even butter the top like you said because my top was hard and looked identical as your bread, I added a bit too much to the top, it's ok though because I know better the next time. So, I started my Dry Active Yeast with a tablespoon of sugar and the water was exactly 109 degrees, I then worked on my mix in the bowl on the kitchen aid bowl, added all ingredients, by 3 minutes my yeast was bubbling good, so I added my yeast and sugar to the bowl, when I did all and then baked at 375 degrees, it was the best after cooling, we sliced it, my wife gave me a small piece off of it, I said WOW!!!!!! I noticed after I went to the living room within a minute she sat down with 4 slices of bread and she ate them all, she said it was the best I made. She did not see how I made it and asked me how long did I Knead it? I said I never Kneaded it at all... She said: Huh???? She said that was better than store bought bread, not too sweet, and not too dry, perfect!!!!! I give this recipe well above 5 star rating, I think the mixer also made a difference because if you use a counter top mixer, if you watch it closely, it will be perfect once it reaches consistency, if you use a mixer and over mix, then it will destroy the process, I thought I would add that as a caution to using a mixer. The old way using a wooden spoon would be advised if someone never made bread. I also did subscribed to your channel because your recipes are fantastic! I also used the Auger, ha I hear people laugh when I say: Auger, it's actually called "Flat Beater" , another word to the wise, don't use the wire whip or dough hook, the Auger is better in a Kitchen Aid mixer, this will make the dough nice and fluffy and more rich. I also use the lowest setting speed which is mix, if it is blended faster again, it will destroy the flour and Yeast. I also use Swerve as a sweetener in my other breads, if you need to watch sugar as I do, and have to watch it. This keeps from tripping insulin and with lowered carb bread, like almond flour bread, it makes a big difference, I make normally a zero carb Almond Flour Bread, the taste is not the greatest, but in the long run it helps my health by eliminating carbs. I guess I do pretty good for a 59 year old man, my first try with this recipe is added to my favorite library for white bread.
WOW!! Arthur, thank you so much for sharing all of this. I am SO happy to hear that the bread was a hit!! Love, Mary
Thanks Art. I wanted to use my kitchen aid as I have hand and wrist problems.
People who put a dislike on this video are just miserable souls. This woman has made her videos to reach every culture, every level of education. Weather a person is wealthy or starting out, or financially starting over... there is no person she leaves out. With a bowl and a spoon... anyone can do this. How many videos can do that? She is a great teacher.
Oh my goodness!! Thank you so much for the kind words. I’m so glad you’re on this traditional foods journey with me! Thank you so much for being here. Love, Mary❤️🤗❤️
thank you from all of my heart. I've been wanting to start baking bread but have yet to find an easy recipe - until now !!! I can smell it baking in my kitchen already. You've informed and inspired me to get started
Ok , now you are making me hungry. Great job.
Omg we just made this bread this evening and we just cut into it WOW! Thank you Mary for the wonderful recipe. This is now the 3rd of your bread recipes that I have cooked and It’s Unbelievably Delicious!!!! Had I have found your website years ago I would have been baking my own bread sooner. This is such a gift to be able to make my own bread and not buy store bought anymore. We are so blessed by you Mary. Can you list some more recipes of deserts and also would love to see you make a cinnamon raisin bread. God bless you and your family. 🙏🏻
Made it yesterday you are an amazing teacher, thank you
I made this bread with 2 parts all purpose and one part whole wheat. It came out so good. Thanks a lot. 🌺
Wonderful! I have another video coming out this week where I use equal parts all purpose and whole wheat flour. So glad you tried some whole wheat and you were happy with the results. Love, Mary
I’m doing one part rye 2 part bread flour
Hey Mary! I did it! Turned out amazing. I haven't made bread since my kids were little (I'm 70), and this recipe was so easy. I even messed up from the get go...forgot to add the other dry ingredients to the flour until after I had poured in the wet ones. Did not cause any problems. I am enjoying following your channel. TYSM. x, E.
This Is the first time I am watching your video. I am 80 years old and very limited on what I can do cooking and baking. This recipe may bring me back to my younger days when I was able to function in the kitchen. My mouth is watering and I can not wait until I bite into the bread. Thank you for sharing your baking knowledge, you are an angel!
I made 2 loves of this bread and my husband and I love it. It has such a nice crust but is so light and wonderful inside. I just watched your French toast video and tomorrow I will be using some of this bread to make a French toast brunch.
Mary, that recipe is delicious! I converted it and used sourdough starter instead of yeast and it worked well. I needed to give it more time, but it was so good. I cannot thank you enough!
Thank you I will cook the bread love your show
I have always failed at making bread but with how you teach it, I just may give it another whirl. I love how you explain everything even down to which rack to use in the oven. I have never been around bread makers so I love the details you give.
You are WOWWW!!
You really REALLY need your own tv show. I can definitely LEARN from you. You make it so simple to follow along and “comprehend” the instructions, tips, tricks and things that we may run into as a beginner. That is tremendous when learning anything. You are a true BLESSING, Mary. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and your wonderful personality with us!! ❤️
Hi Kelly, Oh my goodness!! Thank you SO much for the kind words!! Glad you're here!! Love, Mary
I'm a lot younger than most people here, probably (I'm 17), but I find cooking and baking really interesting and fun. I'll definitely use this in the future. Thank you for sharing this.
Hello from Vietnam! I’m new from baking and trying to use my air fryer to bake. I’ve just found out this video today after watching a lot of no-knead bread/sandwich videos. Love the way you explain the knowledge of yeast and other baking skills. I’ll definitely try this recipe anyway. Love your other video too, so detailed. I will introduce your channel to my friends ^^
I used to make bread years ago in my twenties when we were broke. Now I'm in my mid fifties and want to get back into it just for fun and health. Great vid. You made quick and easy .
Ma'am. I cannot tell you how much I love this recipe. I may never buy bread ever again. I make this recipe like 3× a week. There are never leftovers. Life changing. I have tried all different kinds of flour, I've accidentally let it rise for 6 hours and no matter what it comes out beautiful. I can't mess it up!
Thank you so much for this! I have bad arthritis in my hands and it is very hard for me to knead bread. I just tried this recipe and it was soooo good! I made it last night and it is almost gone already, my family is going crazy for it. And it was so easy! Love love love!!!
This is the best sandwich bread recipe I’ve come across🙏🏽 This is soft, buttery, amazing flavor, holds up well when topped with stuff. Thank you SO much for sharing, and for including amazing detailed instruction on how to make the bread. From the different types of flour that could be used, all the way to the butter on top of the finished loaf. You are a phenomenal teacher! 🤍🤍
My granddaughter and I are making this bread right now! Just waiting on the rise! She’s 8 and loves too help me bake! Every weekend she stays with us and we bake something good!!
Thank you. Normally I don’t like when there’s a lot of talking in these instructional videos but I’m listening very closely because you give a lot of relevant and important information. Love your style.
You give such good instructions
My wife this afternoon made two loaves of bread using your recipe and instruction. It was a success. That was her first try! We ate the bread for our lunch. Very nice.
Thank you so much from us in Malaysia.
From Nor (wife) and Abdullah
When I was younger we had wooden oven out side my mom always made bread and after they came out they were like yours so we ate hot bread with feta cheese thank you for memories
My sister and I made this bread for the first time yesterday. Neither of us have attempted sandwich bread before. We are so excited about how delicious it is and how successful we were at making it being first-timers! Thanks so much for such an excellent video teaching tool.
Hi Mary: I have just finished making the no knead sandwich bread. This is my first time attempting to make bread because I was always daunted by all the kneading and proofing time. Well, I must say to my surprise it looked just how you showed yours in the video. I followed your instructions very closely. It came out great. I waited 40 minutes for it to cool down a bit. I cut into it and it was soft as you said it should be. I had it along with some greens for breakfast. However, I think I prefer to let it sit overnight. I will probably enjoy it better. I got two loaves out of it. Can you please include how to store homemade breads like these? I don't know what the shelf like is. Its pretty cold here in Canada but things still get spoilt if it is left out on the counter for a while. Your instructions were spot on. Love, love your videos. Keep them coming. Sorry to hear about the bad weather conditions in Texas. Stay safe.
Hi Mary. I love watching you. You are never to old to learn. I'm 75, and still learning.
Thank you!!
I love how you explain everything & take pictures both above and on the side to show what you're talking about. Best bread video ever!
Hi Mary, just wanted to let you know I gave up on trying to make sourdough starter and decided to make your no kneed sandwich bread and all I have to say is YEA👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻it turned out perfect👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻if I was computer savvy I’d send you a picture, it’s the most beautiful bread I ever TRIED to make! I’m so happy and so proud🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻Thank you, thank you thank you😘😘😘
I never could successfully make bread, even with a bread maker.
I tried your recipe this weekend.. tadaaa, perfect.
The best baking video I have ever watched. The info about yeast was exceptionally well made. I have never baked but the video has made me want to try it out. Thanks, Mary.
I made this bread 2 days ago and it came out FANTASTIC. Everything went exactly as your video instructed. I got the printed instructions. My first sandwich bread!! Store shelves empty......no problem! I got.pics but don't know how to put them here.
Love that you make this accessible. I have made bread, cheese, and yogurt periodically for years and used to do sourdough when i had time. And i found so many influencers made it complicated and preached clean ingredients that translate to pricey. Your approach is like my mothers and mine... relax, have fun, and use what is in your kitchen. Your message is very important.
Good day
My my ,I made half this recipe & this bread turned out amazing 😉 very easy
And me & my husband just ate the last slice .... I’m making 2 more loads today
Can you freeze this like store bought bread 🍞
Thanks so much
Have a blessed day
You're among the best of the best teachers I've seen in the kitchen, Mary, especially for beginners! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and expertise. We appreciate you more than you know. 🥰😍

Will you show how to make bread in a bread machine?
Mary you are so cute I am making this bread right now it’s rising now I hope it comes out good it’s my first time making bread thank you from Rhona in Florida
I am so mad at myself right now I don’t know what to do. I 1/2 the recipe making only one loaf instead of two. I should have never done that. As soon as I took the bread out the oven I buttered it down with a tablespoon of butter. I love butter. Because I am greedy I could not wait to let the bread cool. I went in for the kill. My goodness the bread was beyond delicious. I got some more butter and sat down an before I knew was was going on I ate half the loaf. There is a 1/4 of the loaf left and I have not shared with anybody. Now I have to go make another loaf . This bread is too easy to make and simply delicious. Thank you for the awesome tutorial.
Loving it !
Erewa James : you are so funny!...I love crusty bread..not soft.
I have never come across a perfect person like you, who explains with all alternatives for even an ordinary man to go ahead and make the bread needed, affordable.
You are very simple, vivid facts and your suggestions to clear the forthcoming difficulties, were do nicely explained and simplified; you are really the better than the best who can teach even though to the basic beginner. Wonderful, very helpful and my thankfulness has no limits, dear you. I am your friend from India!
😆 too funny!!
It really sounds good, and must be!😃
Hope your tummy was OK. Heeheehee 😉
God has really blessed you with a gift for teaching in such a delightful and friendly way! I can't wait to try this bread recipe! It's been such a long time since I've made bread mostly because it's such a hassle. You made me want to go back and make bread again! Thank you sweet friend!

This is the first video I should've watched. Mary has never steered me wrong.
Thank You Mary for taking us away from the world's drama for something that is fun to learn AND delicious to eat!! Well Done!
You do such a good job of explaining and teaching how to do all of your recipes. I really appreciate the "why-s" and "don't worry about-s" with the extra explanations. I've never done well with bread and now I'm inspired to try again. Thank you SO much!!! I have to make gluten-free bread and even though that's a very different process I think I can use a lot of your tips!
Hi Mary. Thank you so much for this recipe. I followed you video and actually made 2 loaves of this bread this evening and it turned out perfect. Even my picky other half loved it. You are a true queen in the kitchen. Can't wait to try more of your recipes.
Omgoodness!! I made this bread for dinner tonight! I've made alot of bread over the years, but I can no longer do the kneading. This bread is truly amazing and so easy!! I didn't have to butter it, the butter just went throughout it. I highly recommend this bread! Thank you sweet Mary, you gave me back a passion that I truly love! I don't like store bought breads and this saved my hands!!!
Amazingly easy recipe, I just made these loaves and it was a hit. I sprinkled garlic powder on one of them
Thank you Mary for your great explanation about the yeast. I have tried 3 times before I realized the yeast had expired. I am going to try again. Again thank you
I honestly feel like I'm attending a baking class. Thank you!
As a home cook does,I had to improvise once more!
I have only one loaf pan so I divided the second half of the dough between a 12 piece muffin tin and a small round baking tin..My familt could not stop eating those in ANY form! It's a diet destroying hazard I tell you!!😂
Thank you @Mary's Nest for another incredible video and recipe!
I was wondering if a muffin tin would work.. you just grease the tin pan, yes?
@@lauriefaulkner1779 Yes,thouroughly!
I tried oil in a few and did not work as good as the butter though! Good luck, happy baking!😁

Baked my first loaves this last week and just found that I had under utilized the dry active yeast.
That was the only yeast I found.
Can't wait to try Mary's recipe.
I buy the jar of yeast and you can freeze it to use after the expiration date if you don't bake enough to use it quickly.
This channel is great!
@@MarysNest your instructions are wonderful!
