    So basically, if you can stand a little more heat and hate engineers enough, the guardian version is superior. That much faster recharge is incredible and easily makes up for the 20% capacity loss unless you're firing a massive salvo of absolute energy hogging weapons.

    I still don't see the use of the guardian enhanced modules. Only useful for beginners/pilots who have limited/no access to particular engineer of don't have the needed materials.
    For advanced pilots who can engineer their modules to the max, there is no need for them. Too many downgrades of the guardian modules.
    The only module I am looking forward to install is the FSD booster.
    EDIT: Yeah the FSD Boosters are really worth the effort. It managed to give my explo conda a buff from 55ly jump range to 65ly!
    The same with my DBX which even could go up to 67ly!

    • @nikisepps
      @nikisepps 6 лет назад +5

      I will say this much, I fly well and I'm at a point where I constantly am pushing my ships into very difficult situations, like my Eagle into a High conflict zone.
      Now keep in mind I have a Corvette, Cutter and Type 10 that could do that easily, just look at a vulture and poof no more Vulture, but when pushing really interesting builds, I have found my Eagle, with a Guardian hull reinforcement and shield booster along with a Guardian PP and G5 enforcer cannons to still need a little more juice.
      Now I could go through the effort to just G5 my PP. But instead I swapped out my G5 power distributer for this Guardian one and I saw no effect on my weapons. The time on target was so little that I didn't notice the Lower capacity, or even at boost or in shields!
      It was really interesting. I can see numerically the benefit of just human engineered modules, I still use them a lot.
      But I barely see the negative effects, if at all, of the Guardian modules. Really. Barely. As a result, I really feel these modules save a lot of time. They have a much smaller grind, a grind that is interesting and took me only a few hours at that.
      AND THEY SAVE SO MUCH TIME AND EFFORT! I don't even plan to engineer PPs or distributers now. Why? Because I highly doubt I will be intercepted by an incredibly powerful Player in open when I'm in powerful cutter or corvette myself. In this regard, despite playing a lot of powerplay (go Hudson) I don't see how a G5 ship will be so blindingly better than a G5/Guardian ship such that they hybrid ship will lose every time.
      Instead the margin is small enough that it's within the margin of pilot error and skill I believe. And that is something I feel I have the upper hand in. I MAY BE WRONG, but I think it's reasonable.
      Also. Side note. The players I've run into with hyper ships, have all been the 13th legion. I don't mess with them. But most players I run into, I can kill in my cobra... Using shock cannons... Like... I love shock cannons but if I'm able to kill Players with them, it says a lot of the caliber of pilot in Elite, or the lack thereof.
      Which goes back to my point, G5 or a G5/Guardian hybrid... Seems to me theybare equally lethal and the difference too small to be a determing factor in the fight.

      Certain things are also much cheaper; e.g. PPs: 8A normal is 162mil, 8A GPP is 5.5; they put out with 36 and 47.5 MW power. So the Guardian stuff can also end up making for lower rebuys in combat ships. Other uses include smaller PPs for racing and exploration ships that can save wait. Overall, very niche use cases but not useless.

    Moin! Ich hätte eine Frage zum Gua FSD Booster. Und zwar habe ich festgestellt, dass wenn ich ihn im Menü abschalte während ich unterwegs bin, sich die bootzeit vor dem Sprung nicht verändert. Ich hatte gehofft man könnte ihn einfach nur dazu schalten wenn man ihn für größere Sprünge braucht aber scheinbar bleibt dieser negative Effekt bestehen. Die Sprungreichweite geht natürlich wieder um die 10ly zurück. Was ich nicht genau ausprobiert habe ist, ob der Treibstoffverbrauch der gleiche bleibt. Machst du vielleicht noch ein Video dazu?

    I'm getting fatigued of this Quality of Outcome or "balance" philosophy with the ED tech. Now that Thargoid and Guardian tech are being introduced, they should be better than the purely Human tech one can add into one's ships. A new player still has to labor through getting all the needed materials and travel out to Guardian space to just to get what is not quite as good as engineered Human tech which one also has to grind to get. I did find the Guardian Power Plant useful in that a size smaller is the same as a size larger Class A Power Plant which makes a ship lighter and jump slightly farther and maneuver better.

    It takes less effort and time to unlock engineers. I don´t see the point in these modules, with the exception of the FSD one. If you could engineer them, maybe with some hard to find exotic materials (maybe adding new mechanics), there would be more hours of content and a motivation to get those modules.

    • @treya4740
      @treya4740 4 года назад +1

      The unlock is (for most of them) easier but the Material grind is where the time sink is. Guardian modules on the other hand are a single unlock only. The FSD Booster is obv the top priority as every ship build can make good use of it. Once you look at combat though (vs human ships but especially against Thargoids) all the defensive modules and weapons are equally without peer.
