Jules first I did the DISCO 23 mins and then this 10 min walking with weights. I'd say I had a pretty good workout.3lbs and still some parts were harder than the others. You always make it look so easy. Thank you for the entertainment and exercise instructor. Always a blast working out with you.
Hi Jules, I have been dancing to your Bee Gees 10 minutes step and this video (love the music) for over a year now, and never get bored with them! I have fibromyalgia and this is the perfect pace for me. Just started dancing and lifting water filled jam jars in time with you. Thanks very much! Keep up the good work! Regards Caron from Hertfordshire, UK. 🤩🤩
Hi Caron, thank you for taking the time to let me know that you've been enjoying my workouts...and super happy to read that you don't get bored of them (listening to the Bee Gees definitely helps!).😉
I have to express my deep appreciation for the beautiful backgrounds you pin up for the workouts. I love trees, flowers, birds, water---I seriously miss "my" beloved Lake Michigan!---but I'm extremely sun sensitive, and have been told by my PCP, and my dermatologist (she's treating me for skin cancer), my optometrist, and even my dentist, that I MUST stay out of the sun as much as possible. I can no longer go for walks on sunny days--I'm also severely allergic to sunscreens--and my views of nature are very limited now. Thankfully, my tiny apartment complex is set in a grove of beautiful, mature oaks and maples, with plenty of grass all around. I do get to hear the elusive birds (heard, but rarely seen), and the many silly squirrels, and I'm grateful for that. Getting to see the various gorgeous settings you pin up really makes working out a pleasure, and helps keep me motivated to see each day's posted picture (I change up my workouts daily). Thank you for your thoughtfulness in choosing such exquisite backgrounds.
You have just reminded me that I need to do some research and find some new backgrounds:) I haven't changed the one I have up in a while now! Thank you so much for letting me know how much the various scenes mean to you, and how you look forward to the various scenes. I don't get a lot of feedback on them so receiving your feedback is very helpful. Thank you! Since I work as a Recreation Therapist, one of the things I do in my job is to try to find ways to help people find solutions to enjoy recreation & leisure as much as possible. Knowing how much you love the outdoors, might it be possible to purchase a wide brimmed hat, wear thin long sleeves shirts and purchase very dark sunglasses that are safe for your eyes? I'm sure you've thought of all of these things but like you, I LOVE the outdoors. I just wonder if the right clothing and glasses might allow you to still enjoy getting outside in nature.
This is a great strength builder. Now when I help out at the food pantry I can pull the boxes sideways down the belt using my arms and stomach muscles. Thanks so much for the creative workouts and inspiration Jules! 🙏
Wow! That’s a lot of workout in just 10 minutes! My arms have been weak for a few years. It was tough, but I (we) hung in there! Thanks for helping us be better, not just older.
We did this one for our nighttime workout. I’d say we did pretty good today. In between I organized my yarn stash (the equivalent of a total closet clean out and organizing.)
Oh wow! That’s more of a workout than it sounds like! We used 2 lb weights. The exercises where our hands went above our shoulders/head….oh boy, those really got us. We did not do it at full speed, but kept up as we could. One day, maybe we can keep up with you one for one. Thanks, Jules! You’re the best!
Oh boy was that fun!! This was my first step to beginner level after doing all of the gentle videos at least 2-3 times. And what better way to start than by BeeGees! Saturday Night Fever was the first album I ever bought for myself and I just about wore the grooves right through. And it was challenging, but so much fun with some old fave tunes, but I did it and the time went so fast! Thank you Jules for the great workouts! Cheers from Vancouver Island!
I LOVE that you went through all of the gentle ones first, built up your fitness and then moved to the beginner level. That is perfect! I'm excited for you to get through all of the beginner workouts and continue to see progress. This must be a beautiful time of the year on the island! It's been years since I've been but I loved it when I was there.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for catering to this age group. Health and Fitness is critical for everyone. Your exercises to the choice of music is fabulous. Everybody please like, subscribe and comment.
Massssssive gold star. That was great. I used 2lbs all through and as I did strength yesyerday it was hard at the end but omg loved it. This is going to be a go to. Really felt it. Is this still classed as doing strength training? Loved the back drop on this one. Can't believe its 3 years old ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We did this one to end our day (and our week with you.) We’ll be making a little trip to south Alabama for (family friendly) Mardi Gras and sightseeing. We should be doing a lot of walking, so we’ll at least get I. A little exercise. Hopefully we’ll meet back up with you on Monday.
An unexpected surprise!! Thank you so much Jules, that is a great workout, thought it was going to be easy with 2 pound weights, you made it look so easy but I found it quite a challenge..WHEW Definitely one to do regularly. Have a great day🙂
I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it. I purposely made it only 10 minutes so it can be a workout that can be added before or after another workout to target the arms and shoulders more. Thanks for commenting!
I always enjoy your workouts Jules… but this one was way too fast paced for me with my two pound weights… lol 😝 I still forged on, but at a slower pace.
Hi! Sometimes the music gets me carried away and I go a bit faster than I originally plan for. I'm happy to hear you modified the workout to work for you.
Thank you and welcome to my channel! Just so you know, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) and categorize all of the workouts in the playlists. I hope you enjoy more of the workouts when you try them out:)
We had to do our second workout a little earlier today to get it in. It’s all about doing what works. Yea us! Two days in a row! Maybe we’re back in the groove now.
I just started following your videos for seniors and happy with it. Was just wondering if you have these videos on a DVD or equivalent devices (USB stick) for purchase?
I have had people ask many times about DVD's...the issue I have is having a hard time knowing which videos to put onto the DVD's. Would you be interested in purchasing videos in order to download them instead? I can put them onto Patreon so you can purchase them there and download them. Let me know if that might work for you.
@@ImprovedHealth , slowly maybe I’m getting there. At least there aren’t many barriers to exercise with such a great variety of levels to choose from; and for that, my friend, we thank you! 🙂💕
We did this one again tonight (although I told Rex I thought I had already done enough today, with taking down my Christmas tree and decorations, which I had not even planned to do for a few more days) I was really tired by the time we did this, but I got through it. So, I think I did good today!!! I may be sore tomorrow!
This is a super cool exercise. But I have one question. I have always been told to do arm exercises slowly, deliberately. Are these too fast to achieve results? Thanks for sharing this with us!!!!!!
With light weights it is fine to go at this speed. For strength with heavy weights, yes, definitely slowly and deliberately. If you see some of my strength routines you’ll see I have us go slowly. Great question! During this workout, if you feel it is too fast, you can also slow it down to the speed you feel is right for you.
I love the determination to keep getting stronger, Dawn! You can always do it without weights, and gradually increase with very light weights and so on.
Yes, 5 lbs would be tough for the shoulder moves! Love your enthusiasm! 1-3 lbs would be ideal since the moves are faster than a typical strength training workout.
We did this one tonight-oh, my arms!!! I did it seated, though. Chiropractor wants me to go in “second gear” for a couple of weeks, until my knee gets repaired better.
