The hardest and complex game I had ever played. I was 10, living in Ecuador, and knew no English. Now 33 yo, looking back to this game brings tears to my eyes because I can understand what was really about. Remember being stuck at the End of Time for like 5 months before giving up on the game. Then I met someone who told me how to get out from it hahaha. Love this game.
I don’t think people truly understand how awesome this video really is. Two people that are fans of the game, like you and me, put years of energy into making this, just so we could relive the adventure again. The passion and love put into this is hard for me to comprehend. The amount of recording, retakes, and editing is just outstanding. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for producing this masterpiece.
After deciding I didn't have enough time to replay this game but still wanted to relive it, I was happy to stumble across this. Thank you for taking the time to put this together. I wish this was done with other RPGs as well.
Agreed. Many great game edited movies these days, but generally for the PS3 on up. There's plenty of great 2D rpg's that could serve to use a quality edit like Doug Matlock's done here - I'd be a happy camper with a decent Xenogears movie, and maybe a Black Sigil movie as well.
The very first time I played, I genuinely thought that when we get to the End of Time for the first time we're supposed to finish the game and beat lavos thru the bucket. I tried but that Lavos is impossible on a first playthrough before access to good equipment. So I started griding and go to lv 40 and yet it was impossible. Then I dropped the game. Years later I bought the Ps1 version and finally finished it
Same here! I remember finally beating him at the level and how cool that was. I think the most difficult version of Lavos is when you encounter him at the Ocean Palace - also something that is quite difficult unless you are both at a high level and have lots of healing supplies.
Just found, liked, and added. Wow! What an wonderful trip down memory lane. I have always maintained that Chrono Trigger is the ultimate JRPG and I stand by that statement to this day. Amazing. Now, if you’re still out there and if you haven’t done it yet, let’s see one for Chrono Cross.
Used to love this game, the game play just felt so right. The music was enjoyable and the story was amazing. Thanks for the video, gave me some entertainment for the day
Since I was in 4th grade I started playing this on my DS. Didn't know about it until the middle of my last semester of elementary. Til now I still remember everything and the facts about Chrono Trigger.😁 I was 8 at the time btw.
Well some people love to hear someone talking while there playing and some hate talking over the game . But hey just because someone talks in there videos it does not mean they love there voice just some people want hear talking while there playing like I said. And nice upload you beat it in 4 hours but look like it was skip some though. It had to be skip some Cause I play Chrono Trigger myself and it can take least 8 to 10 hours to get to Zeal place. Although am still stuck getting Magus out of the light at north cape every time I press A he wont come out for me yet.
love the fact you can NG+ the game over and over again and max out your stats and see all the endings of the game i remember getting all the stats to the max of 99 or was it 999 took hours of playing to get there and had all the rainbow gear for every characters
I cant tell you how many times I picked up my controller to push A and progress the dialog lol. It was a great video, and gave the motivation to have another go at the timetravelingfuntimes :)
I still remember the first time hitting the power button with the CT cartridge in. I was 10. 24 years later, I find myself coming right back at least once a year. The greatest game
I would be the happiest nerd ever if they remade this like the Seiken Densetsu 3 remake now known as Trials of Mana, Im currently playing that one and its as perfect as the SNES original, that game and Chrono Trigger are not just 2 of my favorite SNES games but 2 of my favorites of all time in my 30 years of being a gamer.

you know its pissing me off, this year there have been so many remake/resurrections of old games, and this game STILL has not gotten remade or remastered. if they redid this game with updated graphics, cutscenes and animation it would sell like fucking hotcakes AND it would be awesome to finally get something that resembles the OVA. lets start a petition guys.
Lucca is amazing if she can understand/repair technology 1300 years ahead of her time. How many people 1300 years ago would even understand what a modern smartphone is or how it works?
This game is an absolute masterpiece. Even today, with the flashy graphics and realism of modern JRPGs, this game can best them all. This game is in dire need of a remake.

Hi! I totally understand what you are asking, but I wanted to capture this as it was in the SNES, which was how I played it for the first time. I think the cutscenes from the Playstation are great, but I chose to go this direction. Great idea though!
I never liked the PS animations to much. I love Chrono Trigger and their characters and love the original artwork Toriyama made for the game. The animations made for PS seems like Dragon Ball Super characters doing Chrono Trigger cosplay.
