Lol yeah once someone told me that Cloud has Zacks memories THAT made shit make sense for once. I only remember loving this game for being my first rpg. I liked the story even though it wasn't clear at the time ..
It was quite convoluted!!! I played through it 2 times, but it's been at least 12 years since I played it. I remember the game giving me goosebumps when certain revelations were made, even though I never exactly understood every single thing that happened throughout the story. This is a great video, and makes me want to play the game again. I do have the "remaster" on my PS4-Pro, and I need to get around to playing it before the "remake" drops.

Aerith’s death really made me cry as a kid because I totally fell in love with her as an 11 year old in 1997 when this game came out. It’s still my fav FF game of all time.
Honestly. I never played Final Fantasy before this game (the Sephiroph inclusion in Smash got me into it) and I don't regret it one bit. Aerith is probably my favourite female character in any video game... and that from one playthrough. XD It's feels kinda silly to fall in love with a fictional magic woman but well here I am. She is literally the definition of "best girl" And the way Cloud tries so hard to flirt with her is just cute. Argh I can't get over it. If they don't get together in the sequel of the remake I'm going riot. Lol. And yeah I know what is supposed to happen to her... but I want it. Pls Square Enix. :(
@@sebastiankroneder2774 It was impressive back then how they managed to get you to fall for a small bit of polygons based on her writing and tiny blocky animations. Of course I fell into the role of Cloud as a young lad and falling for Aeris/Aerith was definitely easy for a boy. Still the first time I remember a game being able to make me really emotional, so FF7 will always have a special place in my heart because of the story, and the revenge and catharsis you manage to achieve by the end of the game.
@@casedistorted I can only imagine how beautiful that must have been to grow up with memories like that. Like I said, I didn't care much fore the series till, thankfully, Sephiroth was included in Smash, cause that amazing trailer made me a fan so I wanted to know more. Turns out I devoured the game (the Remake that is). I literally played through it non-stop, even all through the night. And I love every character. I even tried to avoid building to much of an emotional bond with Aerith, due to me knowing what is supposed to happen to her. But I failed miserably. After two hours of running around with her I shipped her with Cloud so hard, and with him, I fell in love with her. Never thought I could seriously fall in love with a woman from a video game but her I am. She is easily one of my, if not my favourite female videogame character of all time. Just from one playthrough. And that even though Zelda had that spot since I was a little kid. I just know that, if they should kill Aerith in the sequel, what I'm hoping they won't but I have the feeling that most players wouldn't be sadisfied with that, I'm gonna be emotionally scared for months. Heck I watched Advent Children today for the first time and everytime she appeared and her theme started to play I almost cried... it hits me hard. And I'm not a person who cries easily. Sorry for the essay. Just had to tell someone who understands. XD
this is incredible...i remember as a kid thinking "wow i would really read a novel that told the entire story of ff7 since there were some loose ends in my knowledge" but now here we are 20 years later and someone has done it in video form. amazing, and thank you so much for your work. the most important part to me here is that while yes this is the plot of the story, the emotions shown through the game are only truly experienced through the gameplay. now, i was young at the time when i first played it, but also played it again my senior year of college, but this game really does wrap you in emotionally. i cant wait for the remake. thanks again
I just finished playing the original game for the first time and I am so thankful for this summary. Amazing game but a true headache. You put all the events in a line and it was really helpful. You're awesome
On my second playthrough - 7th Heaven mods have made it a lot clearer - and Thank you for making the storyline a lot clearer - I understood some, but never all of the complexity of the plot - GREAT JOB.
Will be worth it. People will complain and cry about it, but I would rather they take their time and polish the game to its max potential than shit out a poopoo full version
@Tamer Ciftci lmao Square is not gonna suffer from this remake. Imagine if they released the entire game. Would be about like 250gbs and bitches will still complain.
@Tamer Ciftci maybe before complaint that it suck and already judge it before the full game out, can you just kindly wait for all full game out then go critic it? because we havent seen the bigger picture yet why they make it separate episode.
Tamer Ciftci everyone like you is a complete dumbass. The remake is meant to be a tool to flesh out more of the original’s story while at the same time keeping it fresh. Having a 1:1 copy to the original is just what nostalgia goggle wearing fucks want.
@@productofsol4864 if anything it's a sequel rather than a remake, Sephiroth clearly knew his plans were doomed to fail hence why he made Cloud and the gang change fate. Maybe because Sephiroth was at one point a God he could send his memory back in time / set time itself back and try again. The creator apparently did say that most spin offs are now non cannon, it wouldn't make sence to make spin offs non cannon now unless this game ties directly to the original.
@Matias Flores He didn't say it, but hence the fact that he goaded the gang into changing fate would almost certainly mean he knows he is doomed to fail. It is just speculation of course but if it is true I like the idea. They changed fate by defeating the arbiter of fate..... 1 thing did notice is that (from my memory) there are 2 points when the future is seen. The second time is during the battle with the arbiter when the white beams show them the future, however curiously the first time Cloud has a 'future' vision is upon meeting Aeirth after his fall into the church, however this time he has a vision presumably caused by his Mako poisoning considering he seen it in the green filter that all his past visions appear to him which maybe signifying that this is in fact a memory and not a future sight. So maybe time has been reset but cloud still has his old memory before a possible reset but just doesn't remember as of now.
They pretty much ruined the story for me, turning it into a KH3 Dream Drop Distance shtfest. You can build the story further in a remake if you want, but not change it completely, now it's FF7.2 instead of a remake as it was supposed to be.
@@PaulM68322 I'm thinking the connections of mako being a source of energy that contains "memory" could extend through all possible timelines. As a result, Aerith and Sephiroth may both be aware of the original timeline. If the ending of the original leads Aerith back to the beginning of Remake, it's possible that one or both characters are looking for "another way."
I've found that with every play through (done around 10 in my life) I always learn something new about this game, whether it be lore or something to do with battle or getting that random potion behind a rock that you didn't know existed
I think its good because it really explores Clouds mental illness, which is pretty damn neat. BUT I think FF6 rivals the story overall. It also was pretty awesome and full of lore and history. And I felt really connected to all the characters. In FF7 Yuffie and Vincent and Cait sith were kinda lame and I didnt care much about them. And in 6 they actually failed to stop Armageddon, which was neat.

Video made 1 year ago, remake is out and made me want to get a fresh update of the story. So thank you for your time. What makes this story great is that you have to dig and revisit areas to actually get a lot of the background plot, and yet you can just play straight through and still experience a good story.
I've been a final fantasy fan for years and I gotta say this is a Very well put together video. Its simply and to the point. Easy explained for everyone. Nice work.
This was a fantastic summary. Great job, bro. I HAD to subscribe seeing your comments that this is not the last one you have planned. Thanks and I wish your channel success.
I have never been hooked on a game so fast as I was hooked on FFVII. The best installment of the series, I don’t care what contrarian hipsters have to say about it. The music, the atmosphere, every character has a fantastic backstory (well maybe not Yuffie but she is so cute and funny), the right amount of darkness, humor, and depth. Everyone memes on Cloud, but he is a great anime-style brooding hero. Seeing what Sephiroth did to the Shinra HQ had me shitting my pants. Dyne, Aeris’s adopted mother, the Turks- even the side characters had great arcs. What an awesome game
randomly came across your Chrono Trigger video while looking for something to watch while eating. food and tea got cold but that's okay. now, i'll be watching this before bed. fire content, fam!
Maybe it is good to don't get laid in that universe since you are at risk of becoming a parent that way and parents have not a high chance of being alive for a long time.
The storytelling of this game is what's the word, superb, stupendous, and captivating. I read a lot of and I must declare that Final Fantasy Seven is one of the best stories i have ever heard. If anyone says that videogames are a waste of time, I beg to differ. Also Xgor Gaming, I must thank you For articulating the story so well. thank you again.
Damn, man. I never thought I would actually watch this whole video, but it went by so fast I didn't even realize. With the plot twists, deception, length of the game, and Japanese-to-English translation errors, it was really hard for me to make sense of the game's story back when it came out. It finally makes so much more sense now!
Excellent breakdown to a complicated story that totally flew over my head when I played this back in the day. Once all episodes of the remake are released, you should do a FF7 Remake Story Explained video and link back to this one.
It just frustrates me to no end how there are So many people who don't understand that regardless of if Tifa dies in the (sigh) 'new timeline' instead of Aeris, EVERYONE dies at the end of the original. The planet has a consciousness that values the circle of life and the preservation of it. The Cetra were sacrificed thousands of years ago to defeat a world ending threat in Jenova, and the humans had their chance at being stewards. They squandered that by sucking the lifestream out of the planet, which is essentially the immortal souls of all who've ever lived or will live, kinda like a reincarnation setting. All to advance industrialization. When Meteor was summoned and even Aeris's sacrifice in summoning Holy wasn't enough, the Lifestream came out to give enough power to help Holy and stop Meteor, but at the cost of all the human life-force. Ending both Meteors threat and humans threat to the planet. Child Aerith mentions this as well as many others throughout the game, about the importance of returning to the planet, and the 'vision' of Aeris at the end is actually the protagonists reuniting with her in the Lifestream/afterlife after everyone's life-force is sacrificed to stop Meteor and preserve the life of the planet. This is also made clear in the post credits scene where Red Xlll is running with his cubs by a Midgar that has been reclaimed by nature, after the planet had deemed his race worthy of respecting life and the planet, granting them new stewardship. Very bittersweet, especially seeing Aeris and knowing that even though everyone died, they were still able to see each other again. I understood this as a teen playing this and it ripped my heart out, but also cemented this story as f#cking EPIC in my heart for my entire life. 😭🤘
Damn. There’s so much to this game. Thank you so much or wrapping it all up and giving it to us like this. This was a great recap of the events of the game.
Very well put together, constructive criticism - your reading style isn't conducive as a story telling, listen-along style, punctuation is everywhere. I know you can improve this!
You should have stated Zack's quote upon his death, "You'll be my living legacy" which then allows cloud to absorb his persona through trauma. The way you described it may leave some confused.
One theory I’ve always had about the Fact you wake up in Shinra HQ with the door unlocked, is that Sephiroth was there to Kill Aerith and saw Cloud and had a PTSD style breakdown.
I personally think he knew about Cloud’s Jenova cells, and considered him a clone. The clones’ purpose is to get the black materia to Sephiroth, so he probably wanted to make sure that Cloud had a chance of getting there by unlocking his prison cell.
Oh wow. I never beat this game and always regret that. But I come to find that I was only about 2 minutes worth (of THIS video) from beating it. Wow! I can't believe I was so close! I have no idea why I stopped, honestly. I was always left with the impression that I was pretty far away and that I had missed out on a lot... but this video shows me that's not true. I guess I felt that way because the story was so freakin' complex. But looks like a lot of other people had trouble following it, too. This video was AWESOME, and makes me want to dig in even more to the story. Or just watch this video again. Lol! Thanks for this! What memories. And in the end it is a good story... I especially like the bit about Cloud finding out who he is and learning to trust himself.
This was pretty good, but I'm surprised you included finding Vincent but not Yuffie and then the extra part of the story that happens in Wutai if you get her since that does offer additional info to the world our characters are in. You also skipped the visit to Gongaga which gives us the chance to meet Zack's parents and have Aeris mention how she dated a guy in soldier, which helps tie together that that man was Zack when he's talking about a girl back in Midgar during the secret scene about their escape from the lab. I always found that a small but important detail to the overall plot and tying these characters together in different ways. Also, at the very end, the Highwind isn't destroyed. That cliff scene takes place when they are trying to get to the Highwind after Cloud's final fight with Sephiroth as the Northern Crater starts to crumble. The Highwind does get tossed around, but they are literally watching the Life Stream attack Meteor from the deck of the Highwind in that very last scene where that bright light flashes at all of them right before we see a vision of Aeris.
Thank you so much for your content! I never understood the clone part of the story...I think tonight I’m binge watching all your videos my dude! What did you think of ghost??
Just beat the original FF7 for the first time and I had to come to this video to get a better understanding of what happened. Great summary, thanks! Anyone know what the music in the beginning of this video is?
Old ff where magical it gave us players something to dream about it and make our life’s different. Will never forget…always makes me emotional and sad about today’s times
Actually I think the ending is slightly different. Since (black materia vs white materia) meteor and holy were both summoned via materia their mako caused them to join power to destroy the planet. The reason you see Aerith in the Lifestream as opposed to Holy is she wasn't summoning holy. She was summoning the lifestream. She knew she had to sacrifice herself (as an ancient i believe) to get enough power for the planet to fight off Jenova. Holy was a ruse that didn't work it was going to destroy the planet along with Meteor and all the life on it.
I tried to play the game but I took a break one time and I didn’t know where I was supposed to go when I came back and because of that I kept putting off until they took it off gampass. And since I got a PlayStation I can play the remake and I know that it helps to have knowledge of the og to get a complete experience. Please don’t be mad guys, I wanted to play it because that’s how you experience a game, but they took it off gamepass so I had to watch this video. Also I suck at remembering stuff when I have to read it text rather than listen to dialogue.
Thank you for the great video! I just replayed the game last month (hadn't played it since it came out and had fond memories), and watched you video to make sure I did not miss anything. Two things struck me. First of all, I am sure that I have not seen that escape scene with Zack in my last playthrough. Is it possible that it is a cutscene that could be missed by any chance? I remembered a scene like that from the old days, and was surprised to not see it. Now I am confused 😅 Also, I had absolutely no recollection of the Wutai story with Shinra. I did the whole Wutai sidequest during my last playthrough, but I don't seem to have heard that story... Where and when is it told ? Anyway, thank you again, I had a great time going through this amazing story with those beloved characters once more. Cheers!
You're mistaken. Holy covers over midgar, and the meteor is still coming in. Barret is concerned about midgar being destroyed, and Red 13 says "It's too late for Holy (Saying that Holy was summoned too late to do anything). Meteor is approaching the planet. Holy is having the opposite effect." And this is all in front of a view of holy and meteor colliding next to ground level, which is causing a shit load of damage. I think you just are remembering it wrong. The full ending is found here; watch?v=W4_sw0trdNc
So, if I'm not wrong, Sephiroth actually died when Cloud threw him at the Lifestream? I mean, we never fight Sephiroth, it's always Jenova using her shapeshifting skills to look like Sephiroth, whose body has drifted to the Northern Cave and is stuck there, under Jenova control, is that right? Also, what I never understood was why the hell can Jenova still mess up everything if Sephiroth SLASHED HER FREAKING HEAD OFF
I guess you could say he "died," but really he just floated through the Lifestream to the Northern Carter. Yep, the one Cloud and crew chases for most of the game is Jenova assuming Sephiroth's form.
Sephiroth falls into the lifestream with Jenova’s head. Rather than be absorbed into the collective consciousness of the lifestream, he maintains individuality. After a long time he manages to dominate Jenova’s will also. From the Northern crater, he awakens the Jenova body in Shinra HQ to kill President Shinra, trigger Reunion and put his Meteor plan into action. My thoughts!
Excellent explanation. I understand alot more now. Just confused on the part where if Sephiroth was stuck in the lifestream.... Who was the Sephiroth that came to midgar?
@@Xygor Thanks for the quick reply. So at the Midgar timeline at the start of the game.... Jenova is in the chamber... Sephiroth is in livestream. But then..... Sephiroth did rip Jenova from the chamber....
Any life that contains Jenova cells is capable of changing form, illusory or physically. Any sighting of Sephiroth before his body is released from the Crater is either Jenova parts or "clones."

I would attribute Tifas memory loss or fuzzyness rather to the trauma that happened in Nibelheim. She lost her father, everyone she grew up with, the entire town and everything she had known was set a blaze, on top of being mortally wounded. No one left to reinforce those memories she has other than Cloud and Sephiroth.
Just the badassery that is sephiroth. Just downloaded the remake on ps plus. Sephiroth and M. Bison are the 2 villains I hate the most and I clap them cheeks every chance I get. Bison, because he literally beat me into tears as a kid (sf2) and sephiroth because he killed aeris in the original ff7, though I believe she survives in the remake. But seph is dope
@@mmoarchives2542 because him becoming a villain is based off a lie told to him by Hojo. That’s one of the things I wish Remake would cover, cause I wanna know how Sephiroth would act if he was taken in front of Lucretcia and she told him the truth. That’s what he deserves, if he still choose to be the villain then so be it, but at least give Sephiroth the opportunity to find out his true origins. Personally I think it would be dope if he has a Darth Vader moment at the very end and goes out as a hero and apologizes to Cloud for all his wrongdoings before sacrificing himself. Cause if you played the original game, for a good portion of the game, Sephiroth is portrayed as one of the good guys, he was Cloud’s hero before he turned into a villain, again, key point here is he’s only a villain BASED OFF A LIE.

man, hojo is the worst thing ever without his shenanigans, sephiroth would have been a normal kid but no, let's inject him with the cells of an alien who killed the ancients and see what's gonna happen
I imagine Hojo would have also kept him pretty much secluded from the outside world so he could focus on experimenting on him and turning him into a killing machine. Imagine growing up as your own psychopathic dad's favorite lab rat with 0 social interaction, completely unable to find any other meaning in life, and finding out your "mom" is actually an alien whose cells were injected into you. There's no way you'd turn out even remotely fine, plus add on top of that the fact that those cells in your body wanna go back to said alien mom so she can wipe out an entire planet, and i don't think the blame would be on you. tl;dr fuck hojo all my homies hate hojo
Lucretia was also completely okay with experimentation on her kid... so let's not just blame one side as the asshole here. Again, she could have fallen for either Valentine or Ghast; she chose Hojo. Maybe she missed a letter and thought he was a snack cake? Also, going to point out that there's a difference between complexity, and convolution. I'd say since fully half (yea I know; but how else would you describle 20 mins off a 40 min vid?) of the video explaining the story is BACKSTORY. I'd say the needle swung just a little too far one way. Also think the whole Zack/Cloud thing is a bit weirder than it had to be. Especially since a lot of people will canonically chase Aerith, who's mostly only interested in Zack. It's fine to have the super powered girl end up alone because her boyfriend dies. Cloud in my mind should end up with Tifa. (Not touching the death bit, that was just out of nowhere for sake of being a dick - the devs, not Sephiroth, but him too)
Environmental destruction, living in balance. Super forces (Meteor and Holy and the lifestream) canceling each other out and what remains of that (life continued on in balance as suggested by the Midgar destruction at the very end). As an adult now the implications of falsified memories from the Blade Runner universe seem more impactful as I watch this. I definately need to play this game through again. Good timing cause the remake is just around the corner. I hope the story line is expanded on however to account for all the prequel and sequel material that followed this game. I was in high school when this game came out and I had barely began to explore science fiction themes so this story line was difficult to swallow. I look forward to revisiting this with an adult perspective.
zfoxfire sorry to disappoint you man but it’s quite hard to take the remake seriously with an adult perspective due to the childish writing. Pretty gutted about it

Honestly, that was much my experience as well. I understood the events of the game but the backstory left me confused and I didn’t even pay much attention to it as a result. Just a bunch of nature loving nonsense I thought with my young teenage mind. All these years later, I’ve formed a new appreciation of the game due to the depth and richness of its game world and story (just speaking of the original game, I’ve seen the movie but haven’t played any of the other compilation games).
There are many events that occur in the background in the game, especially after Aeris’s death .. For instance, Aeris failed to summon holy while she was alive but when she returned to the life stream she maintained her self awareness and through her will power became so powerful she was nearly sentient .. this is why holy was summoned at the end just as meteor was hitting the planet even though Aeris failed to summon it while she was alive, the reason she’s able to pay Cloud a quick visit at the place where they met .. It’s also possible that it’s partly the reason why the life stream itself intervened in the end, even though the idea was brought up and immediately dismissed in the game .. This game never ceases to surprise and amaze, I first played this game over a decade ago and I only found out about this recently
Yeah, I never really understood what was going on most of the time because of how complicated the story is, and also how much it relied on flashbacks and false memories. This is despite playing the game through twice. Now I think I got an idea. Once FF7 remake is ready, we can then experience it fully, with full awareness of what is going on.
Its not a hard storyline to follow. You just need to be able to put the puzzle together as well as paying attention cause final fantasy stories are ALWAYS told in puzzle pieces

If you do everything right and skip through all of the talking when you play as Tifa in Cloud's memories that alone takes half an hour. Yes I've timed it out. So think about that for a while. Anyone who has beaten FF7 or plans to do so should know there is no less than 30 minutes of your life you can never get back by watching things in a video game. You can watch a tv show with commercials in the time it takes to get through a section of talking in FF7

And the way Cloud tries so hard to flirt with her is just cute.
That scene with Red XIII and his dad is what brings me to tears every time
Along with the best songs in the whole damn game
Same! I was not ready for that scene as a kid… or adult!

So basically FF7 Remake is gonna take a good 50 years or so to tell the whole story episodically
Will be worth it. People will complain and cry about it, but I would rather they take their time and polish the game to its max potential than shit out a poopoo full version

The second time is during the battle with the arbiter when the white beams show them the future,
however curiously the first time Cloud has a 'future' vision is upon meeting Aeirth after his fall into the church, however this time he has a vision presumably caused by his Mako poisoning considering he seen it in the green filter that all his past visions appear to him which maybe signifying that this is in fact a memory and not a future sight.

Still the best Final Fantasy story line.

When Aerith died, a part of me died as well.
How to get laid in the final fantasy 7 universe:
Be a scientist
Haha
Or a Don...
Or be infused with Mako
Maybe it is good to don't get laid in that universe since you are at risk of becoming a parent that way and parents have not a high chance of being alive for a long time.
Which is ironic, as it seems to be the opposite in reality. Go figure.

Glad it helped!
You should have stated Zack's quote upon his death, "You'll be my living legacy" which then allows cloud to absorb his persona through trauma. The way you described it may leave some confused.
Make your own videos then
One theory I’ve always had about the Fact you wake up in Shinra HQ with the door unlocked, is that Sephiroth was there to Kill Aerith and saw Cloud and had a PTSD style breakdown.
I personally think he knew about Cloud’s Jenova cells, and considered him a clone. The clones’ purpose is to get the black materia to Sephiroth, so he probably wanted to make sure that Cloud had a chance of getting there by unlocking his prison cell.
Imagine trying to understand this at age 11. Loved the game. Realistically had no idea what was happening
I love this story
Fantastic video! I just wanted to refresh my memory before replaying remake and then rebirth but turns out there was a lot I missed!
That image of Aerith at the end is the Aerith that is in the Remake looking at the events that took place in an alternate universe.
Wow man, great job. Definitely not a waste of time
Just beat the original FF7 for the first time and I had to come to this video to get a better understanding of what happened. Great summary, thanks! Anyone know what the music in the beginning of this video is?
Thanks. Nice refresher before the remake release. Fingers crossed for Nov 2019!
If you play remake watch from 0:00 to 24:00 since it will help you out and I would recommend to watch 24min before playing
All these spin off games and movies and I'm sitting over here wanting a game based on the group of Cetra that sealed Jenova away.
Also I suck at remembering stuff when I have to read it text rather than listen to dialogue.
if you have trouble remembering what you read, try reading it outloud.
Now I am confused 😅
Also, I had absolutely no recollection of the Wutai story with Shinra. I did the whole Wutai sidequest during my last playthrough, but I don't seem to have heard that story... Where and when is it told ?
Anyway, thank you again, I had a great time going through this amazing story with those beloved characters once more.
Cheers!
I hope you've learned how to pronounce Mako, because I've never heard it the way you do lol.
I love your videos. Your voice is hypnotic.
Lifestream wasn't helping Holy to counteract Meteor. In fact, the game states that Holy was having the "Opposite" effect.
Oh, this is also about a minute before the lifestream comes up.
20 years on and this game never gets old
Excellent explanation. I understand alot more now.
Just confused on the part where if Sephiroth was stuck in the lifestream.... Who was the Sephiroth that came to midgar?
Jenova taking Sephiroth's form.
Any sighting of Sephiroth before his body is released from the Crater is either Jenova parts or "clones."
wooooow - awesome story - awesome summarized! Thank you so much! =)
the materia on the red sub is acquired by the party, not shinra. the one on the rocket is a separate materia.

No one left to reinforce those memories she has other than Cloud and Sephiroth.
The feels when Zack's parents told Cloud they havent heard from him in a long time...And asked if Cloud knew him :'(
Yeah that moment always tugged at my heart strings
Made even more touching if you visit them with both Tifa and Aeris in your party.
Man tears were fighting to come out...
makes you like crisis core even more , miss that game
@@kaique9508 Crisis Core was unnecessary and the ending took a scene that was perfect in FF7 and made it over the top joke
You did a great job at articulating the story. Even veteran players will love the way you brought it all together. Thanks.
Thank you!
couldnt agree more. and you he has Charlie Hunnam voice.
Thanks bro for putting together some of those parts about the original sephiroth origins, i was always kinda confused about some of the plots.
As a veteran player, personally, I find this well put-together as an incomplete telling of the story (but still an incomplete telling of the story).
You know what I don’t love....? All his mis pronunciations☹️☹️☹️
I love it because Sephiroth is the main villain of the story but he's ALSO the main Victim of the story. Its wonderful.
But seph is dope
how was he a victim? he was born as a virus
@@ZoninOut707 he knows the truth dumbass, that's why he burned the village, it's why he suddenly felt like a god, because his jenova cells reacted to his experiences and took over, he's not even human
@@mmoarchives2542 ??? Was calling me a dumbass necessary? Not once did I say anything aggressive nor insulting. If he knew the truth then he would know Jenova isn’t his real mother, he never mentions Lucretcia once which leads me to believe Jenova might be suppressing that from him. Btw, You’d never get away with saying that to my face, you’re a toxic keyboard warrior that should be flushed down the toilet, but it’s alright you’re not mad at me, you’re mad at your dad, I forgive you. No one taught you manners.
man, hojo is the worst thing ever
without his shenanigans, sephiroth would have been a normal kid but no, let's inject him with the cells of an alien who killed the ancients and see what's gonna happen
Couldn’t have been THAT normal, can’t forget that Hojo would have been his father, apples don’t fall far from the tree
Yeah he's really the big antagonist of the game when you think about it
I imagine Hojo would have also kept him pretty much secluded from the outside world so he could focus on experimenting on him and turning him into a killing machine.
(Not touching the death bit, that was just out of nowhere for sake of being a dick - the devs, not Sephiroth, but him too)
the most famous game about environmental destruction.
Red Faction has lots of environmental destruction too!!!
Who would think that 23 years later the world's environment would be ruined by covid 19 then ff7 is remade
@@gamesofwar4857 the worlds environment/population is being altered by covid. like the members of soldier were. its no coincidence.
zfoxfire sorry to disappoint you man but it’s quite hard to take the remake seriously with an adult perspective due to the childish writing. Pretty gutted about it
This is my favourite game of all time, and you really did the story justice. Congrats man, really great job!
It's definitely up there for me too. Thanks for watching!

I love how Yuffie is never mentioned once at all.
Right!? The most traumatizing moment of the entire game for me wasn't Aerith's death scene. It was when Yuffie ran off with ALL OF MY MATERIA!
Who?
She is the only character with absolutely no purpose to the story what so ever (maybe some history and lore) but if you think about it, Cid Highwinds only purpose is to create a part of the story to get the airship, and so that Barrett didn't have to be dunno g his big ads over the world map when you lose cloud and Tifa from your party.
@@alexmh6131 also because all Final Fantasy games need a Cid.
Yuffie is 100% unnecessary character.

Facts
Honestly, that was much my experience as well. I understood the events of the game but the backstory left me confused and I didn’t even pay much attention to it as a result. Just a bunch of nature loving nonsense I thought with my young teenage mind. All these years later, I’ve formed a new appreciation of the game due to the depth and richness of its game world and story (just speaking of the original game, I’ve seen the movie but haven’t played any of the other compilation games).
Justin Reeve Same here!
Nicely done, first time I feel like I really understand what happened
Great, thanks for watching it! I definitely didn't catch all this my first time through so it was fun for me to do as a learning experience as well.
Best video about the game. The others were way too fast and they told the story in a confusing way. Great video!
Thank you for watching, glad you liked it!

When you think about it, ff7 remake is explained in like 3-5 minutes.
Remake is only a tiny part of the game
@@chengcao418 im pretty sure its a third of the game
@@Differently_Sane not even close to a third. Its only Midgar, which is just scratching the surface in the original

The remake is trash
I remember watching my older brother playing this game as a kid. I would get so lost in the game as he played, daydreaming about the cool characters, the story line and the “good graphics “ at the time. I’m so excited to grab this game now that I am older and can now truly appreciate it, even more than I did then.
19:26 "at this point the game actually begins."
Exactly what I love about this game. 20 minutes of exposition. 😆
I literally read this at about the 17-minute point asking myself "Wait, is this seriously before the game's intro?! Jesus, I forgot how big this game was."
And this is a summerized version of it.
The ff7 ultimania states it best "Cloud and co are wrapping up a 2000 year old war."
You can watch a tv show with commercials in the time it takes to get through a section of talking in FF7
yug0w0lf greatest game ever made
If Sephiroth knew about his real mother then the Nibelhiem incident may not have happened.
Maybe 🤔
Such a complicated story. No wonder people praise this game.
A complicated story doesn't mean a good one, however a rich and dense story does.
and some people say is a generic rpg story
@@absi49 good guys beat bad guys. 😂 Anything can be generic when you boil it down to the highest level concept. People who say it's generic probably couldn't even write a single page of a story with more depth than a childrens book. Haters just hating because they don't want to be on the bandwagon.
