Glad that was in here as I had no idea during the whole game what they were (must have missed Red saying it). Still, couldn’t they have just done the whole story (retold) without the ghosts? What’s the point of having these Whispers push the characters in a certain direction?
Honestly only during specific major deviations. They added alot of filler and alot of new lines and attitudes to existing characters. At this point the original and the Remake are already completely different games. They play different, the story is different, many characters act very different, etc. It feels more like I'm played through a FanFic loosely based on the original game than a Remake.
Because they didnt intent to/arent sticking the the original events/story in the entire remake, it was a setup to transition from the first part mostly following the original to the next two (after freeing the party from the originial timeline) doing whatever they want/going in different directions. All we can really hope is they somehow are going to tell a better/more enjoyable story, instead of just changing things because they could/to proglong this isnt being 3 seperate purchase over 10 years for more income.@@ehbtsincedayoneish

Hi! This is the best recap of Final Fantasy 7 Remake that I've ever seen! I love that we can watch it on RUclips as well! You did an excellent job with summarizing the whole story leading up to the opening moments of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth! Nice work!🥰
Thanks for the recap! With Rebirth coming in a few days, I don't have time to replay Remake and start the Yuffie DLC before it comes out. Also, it would probably save myself from Final Fantasy VII fatigue playing then back to back to back like I did with the Spider-Man games a few months back.
Supposedly at least downloading the intergrade and starting it up to get a save file, even at the start, will give you a small extra in part 2. Supposed to get little items for having a Part 1 and intergrade save, regardless of how far you progressed in it.
thank you so much for this recap! picking up FF7 Rebirth tomorrow and, while I've finished the game on PS4 already, it's been a few years. I got a PS5 2 weeks ago started a replay of FF7R but it'll be impossible to rush through FF7R because of how big it is, and I definitely wanna play Rebirth as soon as possible, so tomorrow lol. So this recap is great. allows me to remember what happened in the first one + the DLC (that i haven't been able to play) and will let me play Rebirth the same day i get it :)
So I’ve played the final fantasy with Zack on psp I loved him as a character so seeing him not be dead is amazing I’ve never played the original ff7 buh the remake was amazing so can’t wait to see how this goes
Awesome recap I only got to chapter 10 in remake took about 15hrs. I really want to play rebirth and I don't want to grind the rest of that game just to play this one I'll finish it once I finish rebirth for the trophies
Thanks for the recap. I played the game at launch and lost all my progress due to a glitch a little over 3/4th of the way through and havent touched the game since. Looking forward to this installment but im not willing to go through the 1st game again.
We are not sure who the people are that are crying in the church when Zack opened the church doors. This video claims they are refugees from the sector 7 plate collapse, however cos Zack's timeline is not the same this may actually refer to other something bad happening to Aerith (we see her unconscious in the latest trailers), or people recovering after the huge tornado / explosion event possibly caused by the party's fight in the final chapter of Remake - or both
I completely forgot why the whispers existed. So, when I got to the part where they were saying that, only they should be able to see the whispers. I was thinking, wait, why can only they see the whispers!? So, I looked it up and realized I must have either not caught or forgot about the biggest plot point about it being "Remake". Haha
Great recap! I’d like to find just one though that doesn’t spoil something about Zack or Aerith haha. My friend doesn’t remember Remake that well but also knows nothing about the original or any spoilers. If anyone is thinking the same, skip 5:15-5:25 if you don’t want to know things about Zack that aren’t really known at this point in the story
4 years later i finally understand the plot of FF7 remake :D :D :D i was wondering what are these whisperers and why Zack is included in all FF7 rebirth promos when he died in Crisis core :D i feel dumb now
Im still not quite getting it. Why was zack carrying an unconscious cloud to midgar whilst at the same time cloud is with the gang about to go out into the open world. Is this two different time lines ? Like at the start of the rebirth the entire gang is seemingly dead or at least very badly injured but then it cuts to them outside of midgar completely fine.
Basically there are now two timelines. The main timeline and a timeline where Zach lives (he was suppose to die protecting cloud). You know those ghost whispers that was always flying around? Those are only coming when the timeline has been significantly changed
I was hoping you'd better explain the geography of Midgar. I know the bottom sectors are the slums. But whats inside those metal plates above the slums?
He did go over it, as did the game itself, in so far as the plates are little more than giant mechanical landscapes upon which the rich can live in relative convenience. There isn’t much more to it than that. Think along the lines of the film “Elysian; high-tech amenities with most of your needs taken care of up high vs a series of smog laden waste-filled low-tech villages down below.
How does everyone know these remakes are going to be a trilogy? For all they know, it could consist of 4 or 5 games. Or did they confirm it somewhere where I didn't see?
I just can’t get through 70 hours of extremely linear gameplay anymore. So thanks for this. I’ve tried and tried but I never get more than half way through it.

Sector seven plate is still in the air in the Zack timeline. I think the first trailer of rebirth mentions a tornado and I think that’s what has happened to those people.
I think this timeline is a way to show more widespread and terrible effects than even OG, since Remake trilogy's Cloud timeline is generally at least somewhat lighter in most effects. Its somewhere that the devs can go "Well no, we're still willing to let bad things happen! See Zack's world!"
