Only problem was it was too hot and the solder wouldn't hold. It was a design flaw and baking it could get it to work again, but only temporarily. @Ellipsys0303 I've also had it go the other way. The LG G4 phone had a similar design flaw, only instead of baking, you would freeze the phone to get it working again. At least working long enough to back everything up.
As an owner of a white NR200, I can vouch for the build quality. It was an absolute steal at $60. I have 2 thin 120mm fans in the bottom, 2 120mm fans in the side bracket, and 2 120mm fans in the top. Plenty of airflow.
Respect for the fact they actually located their AIO rad at the top of the case, which is a damn site better than the options they gave builders with the predecessors (side-mount at best, floor mount at absolute worst).
I have my 'old' NR200P with a sidemounted 240mm pureloop cooler. Has the pump in the cooler lines, not in the block. So no issues. 3080 horizontal mount pulling in fresh air from the bottom. The previous iteration was already pretty good if you keep the basics in mind.
I also had the pureloop bottom mounted even and it ran fine as the fans act as intake for airflow from the bottom to the top. The downside is that the pump kind of limits my clearance for the sidemounted gpu so I'm glad they put the rad mount at the top this time
I have a 280mm Arctic on the side of my NR200P, with plenty of room to route everything and have great cable management. I have been trying to get more people to check these cases out. They are really great.
Man, with all of the new good SFF cases coming out, it makes me really want one, especially after seeing this! I would totally do another build with that one. And YES, I look forward to any non-regular Jay build videos, hell, even regular Jay videos!
Lol my luck. I LITERALLY just finished modding the hell out of my NR200P tonight for a custom triple radiator setup and it was the hardest build ever. That hinging rear panel alone would have made it so much easier…

Woah! Your shirt blows LTTs latest ones out of the water! Theirs have all been 100% black and dorky for the last 2 years; so I'm reallu digging the comic book/pop-art vibe!
"the colored version ... is only available with the old edition" my thoughts exactly!!! it's great they changed the location of the power adapter from the top to bottom to accommodate the aio, but I would really like my GPU placed horizontally rather than vertically using the riser. i think that would really help with the cooling.
I got a NR200P (not MAX) with RTX3080 and 3700x, custom water looped with a 240mm slim radiator at bottom and a 120mm radiator on side, my CPU and GPU were never over 65 degree Celsius no matter what I do, and it's pretty quiet when not gaming, it's the best case I've used over the years, brilliant engineering from Cooler Master!
Prefer the original NR200 personally. For me the selling point is being able to build without the need of a riser cable. A simple SFF PC, thermals are very good and the build process is fairly straightforward. This case is cool that it comes pre-assembled with the radiator and PSU but doesn't make sense to me.
I really like the option of a top mounted rad, but I agree with you that it's not particularly better than the original. It really comes down to better AIO placement but worse GPU placement so YMMV 🤷♂️ If this one had the option of horizontal GPU mount, I could see it better but it really looks like a more viable showpiece case alternative to the original (glass panel oriented.)
@@carsanwitt Agreed and I think that would be the best variation if it was ever to be released. The included AIO and PSU are great on this case but the lack of a horizontal GPU mount just doesn't do it for me.
I like this case a lot, here are some wild ideas for mods (not sure if they are posible): 1.- Modify back panel to have the GPU sit as high as posible and add a flex raiser cable 2.- Try to accommodate a thin rad+fans on the bottom 3.- custom loop, may need barrow or other pump+block combo
I quite like it, but there are still some things that I don't like in comparison with the Thermaltake Core V21 I went with. - What I like better about mine, for one thing, is that it has the side and top filters magnetized on the outsides, like the bottom one of the CM. Some people might find that less appealing cosmetically, but I really like that it just filters the dust right at the outside and you can either just vacuum them off or grab the filters without removing any panels and clean them off somewhere else. - The front filter IS a foam one on the inside, unfortunately, but then that will just have to be cleaned as thoroughly less frequently. - Speaking of the front; It allows for 1x200mm or 2x140mm ones, or even radiators for that matter. - The side and top also allow for either 2x120 or 2x140. Except, while this case is almost a cube, unfortunately they didn't make it so you can go 4x120/140 on one side, but oh well. So yes, this one is larger, mostly wider, and it's not strictly an ITX-case but up to mATX. What's more is that you can turn the case in almost any orientation you'd like, as all the removable panels, including the bottom with the feet, are interchangeable. - So you can put the motherboard-tray in one of two vertical orientations, but you can also put it horizontally (test-bench-style), which also means you can have fans on the side blowing right onto the GPU, or you could even hang the entire system freaking upside-down if you really wanted to. - Yes, again, it's not as small, this CM-case could possible almost fit inside mine, though barely. But while that's a pretty cool package, I feel it's still very limiting in possibilities in terms of smaller cases. - There has yet something to be designed that will beat the Core V21 in my opinion, and not even Thermaltake's newer version of it fixes the shortcomings the older one has (it's basically a "reskin" of the same, but almost worse).
I think with the extra height Jay mentioned and a mesh side panel that functions similarily to a Meshify case front panel this could be a really great SFF case
When you do a build, can you please do a comparison on thermals and noise compared to a tower case. This would help tremendously for users that are looking at converting to small form factor.
@@doctoreighty452 And I would have gotten one if my FTW3 card would fit with a waterblock, now I'm deciding between the Ssupd meshlicious and lian O11D mini
@@zack9692 NCase M1 will fit a 3080 ftw3 card. It takes a little effort though. I have both the SSUPD and an 011 mini. Comes down to how much rad you want. If you're okay with close to air performance, go with the SSUPD. If you wanna bunch of thicc boi rads, the 011 mini can hold 2x 360 and 1x 240 easily.
@@ComputersAre8ad I am currently using a Phanteks Enthoo 719(Luxe 2) and want to downsize, originally wanted to do a custom loop in it, but it's just too cumbersome in my opinion, I bought a SSUPD, but I'm waiting on an itx MOBO now, if I don't like the temps I get then I'll go with the O11 mini because I'd love to do a hard line loop at some point
@Gareth Tucker :D love the real American units bit. Gold! Being an engineer I'm fully conversant with the inch conversion. Yards.miles not so much, though I'm pretty sure a mile is 1.61 km. The old imperial units are terrible to use for engineering calculations. We covered some in uni and just painful compared to using SI. But for me that was along time ago now :D
I was looking at this case with the vented side panels. I wanted to move my VR rig from the Thermaltake Core V21 because I need it to move and be easy to carry. Also: already ordered the shirt a few days ago when you first announced it
The fact that it put together with screws is a major plus also. CM Really killed it with this one. It just works even for new commers to itx. Small but big enough to be easy to build in. Only down side over the m1 is the back let's in a lot more dust.
Would be better if they put front IO actually on the front of the case. Having it on top makes it inaccesible in some installations. Also having the AIO and PSU optional would be great. For example in my country right now the price for separate components (NR200P+AIO+PSU) is like 2/3 of the NR200P MAX price.
Would have liked to see a thermal test to see the difference between the mesh and glass panel. Also, would have been nice to see if the provided psu and aio perform as expected. Had a lot of fun watching this though, you killed me when you started questioning the love for your daughter. 😂
DAAAARN! Cooler Master, hope you see this!!!! Your new GPU bracket has more potential! Move the mounting point of the PCI-E IO section up! There will be space for bottom radiator and fans from what I can see without increasing case height!!!! Or give us the option to buy one. It would be the best case on the market with a proper straight through chimney effect cooling.
Literally solved the problem of the first case for me, am wondering tho if you could fit two slim 120mm fans down below as intake and run the glass panel to maybe improve airflow as it forces direct flow of air upwards
The original N200 did not have the rad+fans directly blow on top of the GPU, the GPU sits underneath. The only downside is that once you want to use the AIO and TG sidepanel that you couldnt like that. and it is not a neg pressure case. The ventilation slots on the bottom are exactly aligned in a way that a 120mm fan can be mounted there or 2 slime 120mm fans.
"Wow, could we actually fit..? Hold on.." That's the most spontaneously excited I've heard you in a while man! hehehe. I was wondering why the negative AP design, but given that it's a compact thing I suppose if there isn't much case to actually fit an appreciable volume of air in, I suppose negative is a reasonable and proactive route for cooling(?). It's nice looking I'll give them that, and you get a lot provided with the case.. Between yourself and Kyle it's the second case I've seen in a few days that supplies its own PSU. I know it's Coolermaster, but the inclusion of an AIO cooler in a retail package like this surprised me even more to be honest. Further, it would be a great case for a complete watercool rig, with a little dinky reservoir tucked in there.. awesome compactness!
A custom water loop with a thin 240mm rad in the bottom (no fans), glass panel, 280 rad in the top with a pair of fans, and a combination pump/block on the CPU would be epic
If I had this case & a 3D printer, I'd install a pair of 120mm fans in the bottom, then produce a custom bracket that would fit into the holes of the fans in a double square shape that would offset the gap between the upward blowing fans & the bottom of the GPU, leaving space for the riser card. This bracket would also raise up along the back to further secure the GPU from moving around. Which should help reduce the amount of time that the GPU fans would spin.
I think there will be a GPU support-braket if you take a look at the bottom. There are four holes on the bottom placed basically at the end of a large GPU.
I recently got the non max version of this case and found the cable management was terrible. Nice to see in this version thats all been taken care of and added an AIO. Would definitely like to see a build in this case to get some ideas on how I can tidy up mine.
Install spacers or taller feet and externally mount the bottom fans. Also making a shroud on the mesh side to funnel the air into the GPU, leaving the AIO to pull out the hot.
I'm obsessed with Sff. I want to build the most powerful sff I possibly can for work and gaming. It'd all about finding the right parts that'll work for you since you have to focus a lot on cooling and airflow.
I have the non-Max version of this case, about year old now. 2 slim Noctua chromemax fans on the bottom, AIO radiator mounted on the side with it's 2 fans, then 2 more Noctua full size fans on the top. so that's 6 fans, plus the 3 fans on the installed 3080. It never gets above 80 degrees. Usually quiet unless its a really demanding game. I wanted to try modding it to put a radiator at the top, I see Cooler Master listened and gave us this model to solve that issue.
I have the white NR200P case and i managed to cram in a Noctua C14S CPU cooler, 5 case fans, a 750 watt PSU, 3 2.5 hard drives, and some rgb strips. It ended up exhausting out the right side.
I have original case NR200, FANTASTIC CASE! Ryzen 5 3600, 850 watt PSU, RX 6800XT LOVE this case! Btw Jay the bottom panel pops right off to avoid all the trouble you were having at 1st.

I can't imagine anything more appropriate than a T-shirt that's sold out, as commentary on how PC hardware is all sold out.
As an owner of a white NR200, I can vouch for the build quality. It was an absolute steal at $60. I have 2 thin 120mm fans in the bottom, 2 120mm fans in the side bracket, and 2 120mm fans in the top. Plenty of airflow.
When Jay said "That's rigid", I thought Phill would answer "That's what she said!"
And actually, it’s what YOU said.
@@globalist1990 nope. That's what SHE said.
"This is the absolute BEST small PC case we have tested yet..."
only thing ive seen tested is wether the gpu fits
Also specs on website claim only supports pci 3.
Its probably the only factor thats important. With the AIO and PSU already fitted, what other issues could you have?
@@olswang CoolerMaster should have included a riser that supports PCIe 4.
@@QuasiMonkey It is PCIe 4.0
@@olswang If you're just gaming on it, PCI-E 3.0 doesn't make a difference anyways.
You can actually mount two 120mm slim fans at the bottom to help with the airflow!
Strangely enough,I found this only seems to increase temps.
That hinging rear panel alone would have made it so much easier…
yo drop imgr link! that sounds sick
Same I recently did a dual 280 slim rad build with hard pipes in the NR200P, then I see this case 🥲
This channel won’t allow links, but the Imgur gallery URL is “sMKAMs0” Strix x570, Ryzen 9 5900x, MSI 3080, 32gb 3600 ram. Still trying to get the EK cpu block RGB to come on, think I may have to send it back for a new one.
Woah! Your shirt blows LTTs latest ones out of the water! Theirs have all been 100% black and dorky for the last 2 years; so I'm reallu digging the comic book/pop-art vibe!

"the colored version ... is only available with the old edition"
my thoughts exactly!!!
it's great they changed the location of the power adapter from the top to bottom to accommodate the aio, but I would really like my GPU placed horizontally rather than vertically using the riser. i think that would really help with the cooling.
Can't wait for GN to implement the "blow through the mesh with your lungs" test for airflow!
That pump bounced off the table and my first thought was "Good job, Linus" lmao
This wasn't Linus... his ad segway wasn't smooth enough...
Finally a SFF that ticks all the boxes indeed..
Could be my first build where i would not have to dremel stuff.
I would love to see a build in this. I currently have the nr200p and love it.
Also have a NR200P, superb case, the MAX version is on my Buy List.
I'm new to computer building. I must say the community is amazing, and your videos contain a good bit of comedy.
I'd like to see Mini-Jay build in this case. "So easy a 6 year-old can build in it!"
It really comes down to better AIO placement but worse GPU placement so YMMV 🤷♂️
If this one had the option of horizontal GPU mount, I could see it better but it really looks like a more viable showpiece case alternative to the original (glass panel oriented.)
@@carsanwitt Agreed and I think that would be the best variation if it was ever to be released. The included AIO and PSU are great on this case but the lack of a horizontal GPU mount just doesn't do it for me.
I top mounted a radiator in the original nr200, z53kraken with an msi rtx 2080super gaming x trio looks better than this build.
I too prefer the nr200 , simple and effective and most importantly its price
Would love to see a build and temp test between glass and vented doors
I like this case a lot, here are some wild ideas for mods (not sure if they are posible):
1.- Modify back panel to have the GPU sit as high as posible and add a flex raiser cable
2.- Try to accommodate a thin rad+fans on the bottom
3.- custom loop, may need barrow or other pump+block combo
If they made it 4 slots for the GPU and tall enough for dual bottom mount 140s this would be perfect.
I agree with 4 slots. As for the bottom fans, you can buy a thin version and they will fit with no problem.
I would definitely love to see your daughter build her first computer with this case!😆
I think with the extra height Jay mentioned and a mesh side panel that functions similarily to a Meshify case front panel this could be a really great SFF case
if ONLY they made a nice aluminium version of this...
I love ITX builds, they are a bit challenging but you can still do so much. :D
When you do a build, can you please do a comparison on thermals and noise compared to a tower case. This would help tremendously for users that are looking at converting to small form factor.
9:25 after Jay is like "Hey look the back panel swings out" there's literally a label on the back saying don't swing it out, lift it off >_< lol
I've been waiting to see you do this case or the Ncase M1!
M1 is fire ! :D
I have an M1, and love it, but it's 12.7 L in volume, whereas this one is 18.3 L for what it's worth. Still looks quite good.
"The GPU backplate is actualy hinged" sticker on the back says "DO NOT TURN TO SIDE" xD
Been on the fence about getting the non-Max version for my next build. I'm now 100% sold on the Max! Wicked video, dude!
Jay says “..CoolerMaster stupid naming conventions…” coolermaster’s Ceo is probably thinking “that’s a stupid shirt…”…hahaha
I love that you use real units when describing the gaps :D
I'd like to see the build then thermal testing of how the airflow is and whether there's any throttling
Would have liked to see a thermal test to see the difference between the mesh and glass panel. Also, would have been nice to see if the provided psu and aio perform as expected.
Had a lot of fun watching this though, you killed me when you started questioning the love for your daughter. 😂
4:55 hah, I love naming characters in MMOs 'Moist' ... Usually make them old women, and then hang around groups of people until somebody loses it...
you sir are a bad man .... i heartily approve +1
That's bloody hilarious.
DAAAARN! Cooler Master, hope you see this!!!!
Your new GPU bracket has more potential! Move the mounting point of the PCI-E IO section up! There will be space for bottom radiator and fans from what I can see without increasing case height!!!! Or give us the option to buy one.
It would be the best case on the market with a proper straight through chimney effect cooling.
wouldn't exhausting the heated graphics card air into the radiator just make the cpu hot since you're making the liquid on the radiator hot.
This would be co complementary to the Corsair ONE "Star Wars PC" Mod. Imagine them both side by side.
I can't even imagine how much the engineers that designed this case are cringing at Jay's complete lack of understanding of fluid dynamics.
Tiny pc's are awesome, totally gonna be my next build, cases however are rare and difficult to find, not many options.
17:08 "I love my kid but I don't know how much" - Jay 2021
Archiving for mini Jay
Jay you can use Noctua NF-A12x15 PWM fans along the bottom to bring fresh air into the case.
That is one of the most compact space small cases I have seen well done coolermaster, thanks Jay.
2 slim 120mm fans would fit underneath
Let haters hate, you are the best dad ever!
Super thin 120mm fans will fit fine in the bottom, Scythe makes some 12mm thick ones, they are perfectly good fans
Thanks J, just built in this case. What a dream!
I think there will be a GPU support-braket if you take a look at the bottom. There are four holes on the bottom placed basically at the end of a large GPU.
A side panel with a big intake port for the GPU would show off the card, separate intake and exhaust, plus reduce the negative pressure.
What it’s worth it’s no wonder you have millions of subscribers really really like your RUclips videos man
I recently got the non max version of this case and found the cable management was terrible. Nice to see in this version thats all been taken care of and added an AIO. Would definitely like to see a build in this case to get some ideas on how I can tidy up mine.
Looks great. I was definitely paying attention until about 15:40
The kingpin boxes distracted me 😜
I love how Jay Struggled so much with the accessory box that we just continued the review until he figured it out 😂
Install spacers or taller feet and externally mount the bottom fans. Also making a shroud on the mesh side to funnel the air into the GPU, leaving the AIO to pull out the hot.
My brother has the original NR200 with a FE3090 powered by a 600W psu. It runs anything, never crashed
This is now 9 months old. Curios, anyone find a good GPU support solution?
I have the white NR200P case and i managed to cram in a Noctua C14S CPU cooler, 5 case fans, a 750 watt PSU, 3 2.5 hard drives, and some rgb strips. It ended up exhausting out the right side.

Btw Jay the bottom panel pops right off to avoid all the trouble you were having at 1st.
I would love to hear some of the options you would pick from for the motherboard and then the ram choices. An interesting learning tool. I think you should let her build in it! What a great family adventure.
