      I mean the same has always been true of small-batch esoteric SFF cases. They had to prove the market before Cooler Master would make the NR200. • @KevGoesRiding
      @KevGoesRiding 4 года назад +51

      If you want smaller, without compromise (except the ability to fit a 280 rad), then you have to get the Ncase M1...at more than twice the price

    • @devinwilliams4860
      @devinwilliams4860 4 года назад +3

      @@HardwareCanucks Not the 2nd one. The M1 & DA2 are both smaller with very similar feature sets. The Thorzone Mjolnir as well, but it's limited to a 240 rad w/1 fan. I believe a Ghost S1 with a tophat would also still be lower volume. //edit: Forgot the Sidearm T1 too. So yeah, plenty of options for "lots of features" in a smaller footprint.

    • @redclaw72666
      @redclaw72666 4 года назад +1

      At least temps are a lot better than smaller cases lmao

    • @kennuimuffins2426
      @kennuimuffins2426 4 года назад +14

      @@devinwilliams4860 DA2 is about the same size with worse thermals and higher price tag. Ncase M1 is over twice as expensive (closer to 3x if you need international shipping). Cooler height on that is only 130mm which is 25mm less. Doesn't have vertical mount GPU (even if it's worse) or the PSU orientation feature.
      What i'm saying is that you can't physically have the same features as you go smaller, so it's not as simple as smaller being better in every way.
      If you can afford it, the ncase is a better option. But for most people, the extra $100+ could be spent on upgrading the specs of the PC with a better GPU, bigger SSD etc. The size difference is also not very big between the M1 and NR200.
      Comparing it to the other smaller cases you mentioned will show even more differences to the point they aren't even in the same category imo.

    I'm very impressed with this case, picked it up as a placeholder while waiting for a limited production ITX case to come in stock. After using the NR200 I have no intention of getting another case now, its really well done. It is a bit bigger but it fit 6 standard size fans with a 2 slot GPU. My 5950x/3090 system actually runs 2c cooler in this case than my previous ATX case. I think this is nearly the smallest you can go while still having ATX level of cooling/quiet. I have 2 bottom intake fans, 2 top exhaust, and a Arctic Freezer ii 280 as side intake. My 5950x PBO curve all core 4.54Ghz peaks 83c, 3090 PL maxed 375watts 71c.

    If you are looking to downsize your system, look at this case and the SAMA IM01 (US version). The SAMA is a similarly sized case (only 3L more) but has a lot more compatibility as it natively supports mATX motherboards and ATX PSU’s. It’s a lot less elegant as the NR200(P), but I found that my system could have a lot more upgradability with a larger motherboard. It’s also cheaper case to case and system to system as the larger parts actually cost significantly less.
    Note: The SAMA IM01 has several different versions across the globe, basically rebrands.

    I bought this case for a 5900X/3080 Ti build and I had 2 issues with it:
    1. The toolless design for mounting the top fans is not that rigid; the bolts holding the fans in place can slide when applying pressure on top of the case onto the toolless mounts
    2. The plastic grommets that hold the side panel closed can break off if someone slams the side panel pegs into them. I had to zip tie the side panel to the chassis because I had slammed the grommets off
    This case is worth a purchase.

    The NR200/200P series is really win by its price point, performance and flexibility layout, although it is still 3-4 lities bigger than high-end, aluminium A4 SFF cases. Also, the production and logistic of CoolMa still as powerful Challenger to the premium SFF ITX cases.
    BTW, I saw somebody tried some funny things:
    1. using a normal ATX PSU , without the SFF-PSU mount.
    2. using an 2-DIMM "thin" MATX motherboard in it.

    I ordered mine as soon as I saw it weeks ago can't wait to get mine at the end of the month and I was thinking of doing 2 intake fans on the bottom and 2 exhaust on top and of course 2 exhaust on the rad

    Hey Dmitry, I love Cooler Master cases and have used 2 different ones for customer builds. Now they have made a great comeback into the iTX space and I like this. I am glad you all gave this case some awards as I feel it has earned them. (:

    3:43 was very helpful to know. I have a Deepcool Neptwin CPU cooler which is 158mm tall, I will definitely consider this case now.
    Edit: I bought the case but I had to leave the side panel off as the cooler is too tall for the case. Maybe AM4 is taller than other sockets.

    Cooler Master Elite 130 served me well. Got it for ~40USD and it got me into ITX builds. Good to see CM delivering something great since their stacker concepts failed.

    Low tdp options like a 2060 and 9600K aren't the best options when testing best cooling layout for fans. A lot of what you see in lower TDP setups don't apply when running something like a 10900K or 5800X and 3080. I found adding fans below the GPU made an enormous difference. Also, setting the CPU tower cooler to intake helped as otherwise, it would choke on the hot air from the 3080.

      Damn that’s tuff, like actually tuff. I was about to go with Nzxt h210 into I saw this case. H210 is bigger with less Capability option then the Nr200.

    I am very happy that they reviewed this case because it really is worth it, one of the best cases of 2020 without a doubt, not to mention the importance of the price, the good SFF cases generally don't go below $200 USD and Cooler Master did a splendid and excellent job with the NR200 and NR200P! :D

    Apparently you can use mATX mainboards in it too which is pretty cool. However, not all mATX boards will fit. That is why mATX support is not listed for this product. Check the mainboard dimensions to see if it is compatible with the case.

    Take care of the AIO radiator mounting position .. at the bottom will cause the air to go to the pump and will cause low performance (long term) and damage the pump

    CM cases aren't bad but you don't really expect much from them. This looks like a really good case even in comparison to much more expensive options.

    if you want a quieter build you can do a noctua c14s with the fan mounted on the side panel as intake, and have two bottom case fans as intake for the gpu (which is mounted on mobo).
