Being realistic, it's not going to be good, but is not supposed to be. The GPU is taking in air for itself only. It doesn't care one bit about the rest of the components.
Obviously nowhere near as much as 3 unhindered fans. But look at a teardown of a 4090, the actual board is about half-length. Those things are mostly radiator. It would depend on the board, but they are *by design*, passing air through them. It looks oriented to where the backplate is on the bottom and the far end sticks up to the top, so the top half will be passing air through. Not much different from a case that has drives, a PSU chamber, or a relocated PSU itself in the bottom front.
If I remember correctly from computex 2023 there actually were a bunch fans on the back where the front set was another intake with the back set being exhaust fans, even the AIO radiator goes in the back

About a custom watercool loop here: a barrow pump/cpu block combo would fit and easily cool the heaviest CPU's. But yes, not all combo blocks would fit. In a spacious case like this, you would probably separate CPU block and pump anyway (with a reservoir).
This case looks really interesting, and I am super glad to see Jay do a build in it as he is reviewing it. I do have one question though, would you be able to do a custom water cool build in it? I would Love to see Jay do one in it and all of the troubleshooting that it would require.

Awesome review, covered any question I could have asked on this. Truly a nice case. The design seems like it would be bad if doing a full custom water loop, but for someone wanting to build a nice pc and just go cpu AIO, this seems perfect. Hope to see a lot of people building with this and will recommend to friends. The R&D behind it is crazy.

Jay, we love you man. I hope your health and wealthness has positive energy. Much love and i amcgoing to build my first pc because of your immense knowledge you have shared with us
Sort of reminds me of my really old Antec Lanboy Air. All mesh, all fans point inward for max positive pressure. Kept all dust out and everything super lightweight and cool.
This is a fantastic video, super informative with great visuals, and I love seeing you guys smoke a case to show the airflow. (Flow-vis next? 😆) Love this case and the complete product looks sick. Well done.
Awesome Case and review! Imagine it with a Gigabyte Aorus Master (whatever gen) Graka, The RGB fans shining through the mesh!😍 Also with a blower-type card. Which would complement what I think, despite what you said about "being scared card as intake, enough pressure etc". Because I think the card was never really meant as an intake, but as excluded from the whole system, to not interfere heat wise, as much as possible. As we all know: Card air doesn't go out at the backplate, only on the sides and I.O.Shield. All the card air is meant to leave the case as fast as possible, plus not being heated by all the other component's air, which is simply genius! Like having a card sitting on the bench beside, the hottest part in your system, NOT BEING in your system. If they had a little 4-10cm mesh/exhaust at the front of the left panel, all air from the card would leave the system instantly. Tbf could destroy some of the, very nice, aesthetics, having the left panel not 100% glass.
This is neat. I've been thinking a case that intakes and exhausts opposite of the norm would make sense because my case is under a desk and near a wall. It would probably spread the air better if it blew out the front where it can circulate the room better. At a minimum, it'd be nice to have an exhaust fan that deflects to the sides so it at least doesn't stagnate near the wall and under the desk.
It's amazing to see how far Jay has come when I first started watching he was doing a smoke test with incense sticks and now has a mini smoke machine. The case is pretty nice I'm just not a fan of vertical mounting the GPU.
That extra 120mm fan tray is also an accessory included with current versions of the 216 (I have one) -- according to the instructions it's meant to help with air flow if you use the optional vertical mount kit.
Initially, I thought Lian Li was overcooking with this one. Glad to see it performs well. It looks a bit awkward to build in, but the narrow footprint is nice. If you want a touch of RGB but not 9 fans that turn your PC into a light show, this kind of case strikes that balance.
@18:05, sorry Jay but thats not a 3 meter cable, my guess is its a 1.5meter cable (the PC case is roughly 500mm, then 1meter free outside it). a standard plaster board is 2.4meters or just short of 8foot long, i am 6ft tall and a plaster board is taller than me so if it was a 3meter cable i could hold that over my head and still have slack on the floor. but yes, a slight flaw in case design for connecting cables to take into account if any of us choose to use this PC case. thanks for the review.

@@SaiakuNaSenshu Do they have another front mount GPU case than the ALTA G1-M? Because that's an mATX case with a different layout than than this one. The front mount GPU is the only thing those two at least share in common.
This is a cool case. I love how accessible everything is.
I was thinking on getting this case for my next build.
I love Lian Li so much, im glad they are doing fun stuff like this.
Steve from Gamers Nexus: We didn’t know fans came with this feature. 😊
I’m going to get one for my pops. Thanks for the review!
I modded a case to do this. It wasn't as clean, obviously, but in actuality, it didn't perform great.
One thing to add, the case supports Back Connect/Wireless style motherboards, which is also very nice to see. Expected that style to stay locked to a single brand, so seeing new hardware and cases support it is exciting to see.
Heads up for Liquid Freezer II users, it won’t fit
Lianli said it will with 13mm of space left. I got confirmation from lianli that there is 76mm of space and the freezer 2 and 3 are 63mm.
I really like it, and I bet they'll come out with an XL that's wide enough for full sized PCIe cards in the near future. Liam Li has been setting the trend again and again, good on them.
case sucks.
Nuh uh
nah, it blows
Ohhhhh If I did not have a basically new build I'd be ordering this case. Lian Li and Fractal IMO are the goats of cases.
jay putting on weight or just me?
Why care, he seems bout the same to me
This video is sooo good! Gotta be your best case review to date. 👌
About a custom watercool loop here: a barrow pump/cpu block combo would fit and easily cool the heaviest CPU's. But yes, not all combo blocks would fit. In a spacious case like this, you would probably separate CPU block and pump anyway (with a reservoir).
End of the day Jay is EPIC!
I can't believe Jay actually said about Lian Li "When it comes to disappointin', they never disappoint!"
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Lian Li site stated AIO fan draw air from near. I think your setting looks opposite drawing air from outside.
This case looks really interesting, and I am super glad to see Jay do a build in it as he is reviewing it. I do have one question though, would you be able to do a custom water cool build in it? I would Love to see Jay do one in it and all of the troubleshooting that it would require.
7:53 It's just a small thing but I do get a kick out of that pan to the upper half of the case
Thanks for doing these long form factor videos, this really helps the consumer and the average joe figure things out with comparisons and fitting.
What a great case! Variety and user choice is the essence of PC gaming, glad to see Lian Li capitalizing on that
8:20 Sure it's not just JST-PH 2.0mm? It kinda looks like it and thats.. not proprietary, just not the common Molex KK connector.
Japan Solderless Terminals, who make a ton of male/female connectors, just like Molex(which was actually named after the heat resistant plastic used to make the connectors)
17:47 100% they should've added an extension for at least 1 display port and 1 hdmi, or added larger clips or parallel runs of clips for two cables
its nice seeing something this different, but if im honest i didnt go 30 seconds wihtout saying "damn thats kinda stupid?" but im sure someone out there dont find it stupid and thats amazing (: would love more of this type of innovation
That's what I liked a lot about my Corsair obsidian 250D, the graphics card was fed fresh air straight from the side panel of the case.
As if I couldn't be a bigger Lian-Li fan already
Thank god a good video about this case. I've been waiting for one of these main channels to make a vid about this case cause the two I've seen so far have not done a good job in explaining the case. I just saw a bunch of 2 second pans of the case and no one showed actually building in it. Just empty once sec and boom fully built the next.
Love watching these when you have the product on the way
Hi. I want part two. how the GPU power cable is connected, we know how little space there is to plug it in properly so as not to burn the connection. Wouldn't it be easier to mount the GPU on the floor of the case?
Look @28:25 top right it was circulating in from the back
Jay, we love you man.
I really like this case.
This is a fantastic video, super informative with great visuals, and I love seeing you guys smoke a case to show the airflow. (Flow-vis next? 😆) Love this case and the complete product looks sick. Well done.
This dude is the master of taking a 8-10min video and making is 30+.
Awesome Case and review!
Imagine it with a Gigabyte Aorus Master (whatever gen) Graka, The RGB fans shining through the mesh!😍
Also with a blower-type card.
I like it. But I really like that Lian Li is doing some great stuff. They're killing it with both fans and cases.
Initially, I thought Lian Li was overcooking with this one. Glad to see it performs well. It looks a bit awkward to build in, but the narrow footprint is nice. If you want a touch of RGB but not 9 fans that turn your PC into a light show, this kind of case strikes that balance.
Id love to see a videocard watercool set up in this. Im curious if it would work.
The intake fans for the aio might be faster but they have to push through a radiator. Of course they will not suck in what a free flowing fan can do
