This was one of the first things I was taught when I got my licence and started dating. Always lock your doors as soon as you're in the car, if you're being followed, head to the nearest cop station. I always drove myself to the date location so I'd have a way to get home if it didn't work out. Thankfully it never came to that but it's a rule I taught my own daughter and she will pass it down when the time comes.

Never tell a stranger where you live. Always tell a friend where you are going and have a safe word. Tell employees where you have your date what is going on. Give them a signal if you might need help. Also leave before they do, and ask employees to keep them from leaving right after. And do not drink a drink they give you or that you’ve left alone around them.

Exactly. I been through it too before I got engaged to my fiancé. Those chicks I had first dates with that were bad weren’t the one for me. I was also a desperate man who ended up in a toxic relationship that lasted for 19 months. That certainly was stupid of me to do that. I’m glad that in the end she left me and I moved on.

Not every woman has faced creepiness to quite this extreme, but we've all faced something similar. One guy I turned down accused me of being racist toward him (I'm white, he was Kurdish) and said I was getting too attached to my then-new boyfriend. Another accused me of having a fear of intimacy.
I was nearly date raped many years ago. We were sitting in his car talking. He kissed me which I was ok with but suddenly he was forcing his hands all over me and trying to get on top of me. Fortunately, I was able to fight him off and get away from the car. I was in my mid twenties and very naive at the time.
Ladies, don't get in a car with a date unless you already know the person very well. Get a ride or drive yourself to meet them. Always, always let someone know who you will be with and where you are going. A friend, family member anyone that you trust.
Guy I turned down also accused me of racism. I'm latina, he was African. It got weird when he told me I also couldn't be friends with his sister anymore.

The day the world decides to reject drinking alcohol, the way it rejects smoking today - is the day everyone's lives get better AND longer. Alcohol is so not worth it.
Indeed, sucks that happened to her, but she did sound drunk, but I'm no t a breathalyzer so I'm just speculating because they were at a bar in which a dude bought her 300 bucks of alchahol, so one would assume they drank a bunch and now are both driving drunk. I wish people would stop driving drunk. I'm glad she's alive however, and no innocent person lost their life, but that stuff happens. I will advocate against drinking and driving any day.
Personally, I think she should have called the cops. And technically, she doesn't need to post it online, only the cops or the courts really need to footage. The rest to me, just feels like it is a tad bit for clout on her part, and no, I'm not defending him, he is absolutely in the wrong on his part. Thank you alcohol is awful and brings out the absolute worst in people. I can attest from my own experiences. I got myself into some Trouble drinking before hitting the wheel in the past. Also right now I do Lyft and Uber part time have to deal with a lot of drunk people in my rides. Most of the interactions with these people are either disingenuous or extremely brash to the point where I get a bit concerned for my safety. I’m never touching an alcoholic drink again!

This is pretty much what women have to deal with. The way lots of, if not most men act around others, isn’t usually the person you see when you are alone with them. The only thing they care about is what they want and what they think you owe them for paying for dinner or drinks. I have had at least 3 men attempt to follow me. So after dates drinks or whatever, I would go to a grocery store or somewhere public and stay for 30 minutes. Sadly they don’t even see how bad their actions are because they are so caught up in themselves. She should have just told him she was going to call the police. This dude is psychotic.

I had a male coworker follow me home from work. He was upset that I had rejected his sexual advances. I actually got home and parked in my driveway and realized a car parked on the curb right after I parked. I called one of my friends who is a local police officer and thankfully he was on shift and he was doing rounds so he swung by my house and the guy left.

The guy sounded like he was drunk, and therefore shouldn't have been driving in the first place. To be fair, we didn't hear him say the n-word, but when he started dropping the c-word, that's another red flag. When I was single, I had my share of first dates that didn't go further than that. And that's ok. It's often not you personally, there's just no magic. Shrug it off and move on.

Unfortunately similar situations have happened to me also, some truly creepy expierances,... And tbh the minute he started freaking out and cussing, if he didn't leave right away I def would have called the police. For the sole fact that he followed her home is enough to be scared but then his whole approach and demeanor was like a nail in the coffin for that guy, I'm not surprised he's "been down this road before" and is still single.
