I literally just got an HW70 on 2/2/24 from my dad who found it in a shed. I just started doing research on it to find parts, and came across this video. I put 10 rounds through it and was impressed with the accuracy. I just have to clean it up a bit and swap out the breach seal.
I have a Crosman American classic .177 (changed to a steel breech)
Crosman American Classic .22 (change to the steel breech, Added the stock and a 3-9x40 scope)
Gamo Spectra .177, Gamo .22 Magnum with the 10 round magazine (added a UTG 4-16x 50 scope)
Gamo .25 Magnum Power (added UTG 4-16x44 Scope)

Doing great, got a busy weekend ahead of me!
These are great pistols for the backyard. Very easy to cock and shoot all day long. I got the highest speed at 450 with the RWS Meisterklugens 7.0 pellets.

Any possibilities for small pest control?
2.5ftlbs just isn't enough unless it's like small mice or moles and things like that. Me personally would not pest anything with a 2.5ftlb gun.

I bought an HW70(no suffix) new back in the 80's. I couldn't hit a barn door with it, whereas no problem with my Webley Tempest or other pistols that I had. It was a shiny plastic wood effect stock and I'm pretty sure there was no safety either. I also found it to be very underpowered, considering it's size and breeding. Disappointed, I sold it.
