Doesn't mean anything of course, as it's just one man's opinion. If they have finally sorted it's spotty reliability then it's a top choice.
Great to see HW45 article, lovely gun. I would love to see items of other great classics from Weihrauch and others. What about Webley Tempest? I dreamed of owning one in the early 80s....... but still haven't got there. The HW45 is a great buy.
Great show Lloyd and Tony. Had my hw45 for many years now , it's a .177 and has dual power , I've always had to put 1-1.5 turns of elevation on between power levels. Great pistol.
I love my .22 caliber beeman P1 (I got mine in the USA)! I recently chronographed it with 11.9 grain H&N Hobby wadcutter lead pellets and has a high of 607 fps!!! It is still breaking in and dieseling still occurs, which is probably why it shoots so hard.
Great vid as always like the blue r10 but like you I think the cinnamon one looks the dogs dangaly bits. I've got an ultra SE which I sent to Phil at rat works to get tuned and regulated great gun before but now Phil has done his magic it's amazing my of all my rifles it's my first choice for vermin hunting
Had mine about 30 odd years , I to bought the stock as well , it also came with a forward sight which fitted over the front blade as the point of impact was high without it , small grub screw to hold it on ,it works well. Great show miss it.
I'm a huge fan of the 45 too, I've had one for 25 years! One good feature that you didn't mention is the ability to swap barrels, literally a 5 min job. I only wish venom did a tuning kit for it.
The hw45 is a great pistol I thought is all ways came where you could have 2 power settings and you can buy different caliber barrel quite cheap so you could swap from 0.177 to 0.22 I do the accuracy is down to the balance and the piston witch fires backwards mimicking a low power firearm , I thought that would have been mentioned . Great Show chaps keep it up .
I bought one two years ago. When it work, it was good just like what you said. The only thing is it broke down on me 4 times in 13 months. I gave up. It is sitting at home doing nothing.

Really love that gorgeous blue stock , simply stunning ( me Mk4 daystate is virtually the same color ) love both me R1O's ... But the magazines are WAY overpriced ( promise I won't mention that again ) ... The Hw45 is a great quality piece of kit , that said , I wouldn't swap me pp700 artamis for it .. a superb pcp pistol at £200 new ( or less ) got mine from the shooting show at the NEC for £210 including a red dot scope ... I recommend it highly , had too adjust it down too around 5ft/lb as it was running on the Chrono @ 8ft/lb ..which unless you like getting chased around the shower block by a sex starved inmate at HMP Winston Green .. is not good ... Power duly lowered now , better for it anawl .. getting shed loads more shots per charge ... Great show ... Looking forward to seeing the new instalments
I had my he black star break within for first week of using it ( it was a rasping sound on breaking the barrel)but it was fixed very fast it was even crono tested 5.5, no trouble ever since, one other thing" you can change out the barrel to a 22 on the newest model!

The one thing I would say about the HW44 is I have one and it's great you cannot compare it to the 45 its to different, people moan that the 44 is the same as the 110 but smaller so it should be cheaper, but if its got the same bits and they have managed to make it smaller, then why would it be. You think it's great when they make your new Iphone smaller that does the same thing, but they charge you more for it. Great show again, Tony has not said whether he is bringing the Sterling guns to the northern shooting show yet? I hope he does.

I was shooting my S/H Crosman 1322 with stock, at suspended 4" steel plates at the range on Wednesday out 20 or 30m, great fun - but the basic sights could really do with being upgraded to dioptres. Any advice for cleaning and maintaining the finish on the exterior of the hw45? I know we're meant to keep oils and silicone away from the alloy but what do we use? A slightly damp cloth or something?
We've cleaned Hw45's for years just with ballistol oil on a rag and it's never done any harm . Silicone is a bad idea due to its metal to metal galling problem but if you don't want to use any oil I'd say a dry cloth as really they don't get much dirt clinging to the surfaces.
I bought a HW45 from Pyramyd Air as a refurbished and I'm thinking the breech seal is getting damaged at about 200 pellets. I've replaced the breech seal twice now so I'm wondering if the barrel is maybe too tight to the seal? I put some silicone spray on the seal to help with any friction that would cause damage to the seal. My first indication of issue is when the gun starts shooting sporadically after the gun is already sighted in.
I would release the barrel with the three screws holding in it , replace the breach seal then re-install the barrel and gently push it in until it touches the seal , then release pressure and nip the screws up again. The barrel shouldn't be forced against the seal as this causes it to damage it when the gun is being cocked . I personally wouldn't bother with the lube as I run mine dry and it lasts years . There could be a possibility of the lube having components in it that might burn and cause inconsistency.
I'm guessing you've checked your pellets don't overhang and catch the breach seal? Should be completely flush where you cannot feel the pellet skirt when running finger over the barrel. I've seen that some people like to seat the pellet right into the barrel with a small tool, also. Did you get yours to stop chewing up the seals? My second hand one was immaculate other than needing a new seal, so have bought in a shed load of replacements (there is an 'upgraded material' breach seal as well as the nitrile rings).
Another great show guys, talking stocks, I recently got in touch regards the new regulator for the Huntsman Regal and needed some advice for a stock replacement (I dont want to make a mess of the original) I believe that the 'Griffin Stock' should fit as the Griffin its self is a Huntsman action, is there any truth in this, and if so am I able to order the stock only from Daystate
The compact has been about forever. It's a great starter match pistol. The Alecto is a big chunky thing with good power, not really designed for target shooting but really good at longer distances.
Even though you sell them. I’ve owned one myself. Is it as good as a bsa scorpion. The scorpion is powerful accurate and they’ve got the best trigger I’ve ever had on any pistol and can shoot rats. But you don’t sell them I do like the hw45 but I like the scorpion more. And £280 is expensive for a pistol You keep mentioning the scorpion. I personally think it’s just preference. Great video.
beeman is no longer around when the beemans sold it to marksman moved to Huntington beach Ca that was the last of Beeman I live in Huntington beach Ca put some Hogue grips on the pistol with palm swell I have 2 P1 pistols one with like a combat grip and pistol scope I have had it for 14 years and the other open sights and that's the one with the palm swell grips bad ass pistols a lot of fun

Still dieselling, so it's not been run in yet. I've seen older ones with slightly scuffed finish go for £150, so it could be anywhere in between those figures.
Hi Adrian the bottles used are commercially sourced, so the manufacturer is restricted to what is available. I can't imagine what it would cost to tool up a bottle, but it would be expensive. What is available also changes, and i remember a commonly used paintball bottle suddenly becoming superseded by a different shape, which can really muck up stock fitment
I have a Mk1 Vulcan, I've had all the Weihrauch's and air arms spring rifles, and none feel as good as the Vulcan when fired, l mean the sound is a thud, very solid engineered, l spoke to an engineer years ago and he said yes the reason is that the pistons tolerances in the cylinder are so good, mines so accurate using FTTs and it likes RWS Superfield,
Remember , low power you zero for 10 yards , high power you Zero for 20 yards So you could be getting that reading. Also a lighter .22 would be better like Falcon 👍

I agree, the balance of the gun is imo ruined when you put a red dot or scope on the dove tail rails up front. A rear Weaver is a much better place for a small red dot!
oh get a backpack put some food and water and ammo for the pistol and go for a walk out in the open some of the best times I have had is walking around with my P1 and shooting what ever (junk) and laughing

Very good point you make about Super H point pellets. I've used them for years in my rifles, and yes, they are a great pellet for ratting.

My gamo A10 pneumatic was bought here in Barcelona in 1980. 38 years later it still shoots perfectly. 19 shot lead bb magazine. You should test it.

I saw one of the blue R10s the other day and have to say it looks better in person though personally I'd go for the walnut or black pepper one.
I have stripped and tuned all of my hw45’s and it’s quite east however you do need a spring compressor.

I think we'd need to find a good stock maker to re-create them but price will probably be an issue. I might take this further and get some quotes.

The Griffin is based on the Regal but the gauges are in the wrong place :(

Does the newer hw45 still have odd size scope rail?
13mm yes, all HW pistol uses 13mm. Sportsmatch makes the best mounts for them.

I agree, There is a big springer fan base out there that they need to include in their R and D, not quite the same but look what Sterling are doing.

The black pepper R10 looks fantastic and every walnut I've seen has been wow,that blue is awful.
All down to personal taste. I would pick it over all the other options

This would be better with a 300cc rounded end to the bottle. Somebody is missing out on a good business deal. Guns are more attractive with curves.

RWS Super H Points really do do the business on rats. My old Webley Vulcan loves them!

I agree, the balance of the gun is imo ruined when you put a red dot or scope on the dove tail rails up front. A rear Weaver is a much better place for a small red dot!
I don't suppose they sell the top cocking arm with the weaver rail separately?
The hw45 in 22 will do pigeons no bother. Great for barn clearing

Man 5.5 ftlb? Jesus, the Americans would be laughing. Their HW44 is about 12ftlb out of the box. Presume the 45 is similar :(

Apart from it isn't remotely ugly , most people think its a great looking pistol.
