I didn't think it would take too long for this one to be in pieces on the bench! Good start!
Not as complicated with as many parts as I thought it might be. Like the fact that you explain everything & don't try to rush thru it. Bet she is going to be a good shooter after repairs. 👍
I like the fine gray 3M pads for a place to start and not over do the buffing. The different grades take you up to crocus cloth then emery if needed. A good way to maintain control as you remove the blemishes. Nice gun. Looking forward to when you pull down the piston to check for lube on the spring and seal condition.
I was hoping you were going to rebuild the seals in it. I just bought a HW70 model A (before the safety and with brown plastic) on Ebay. It looks very good, not excellent, but very good cosmetically. Plastic is perfect. $150. But it had no air pressure, won't push a pellet out of it. So, I was going to send it back but the seller told me to keep it and he refunded my total purchase price. So now I'm going to tackle rebuilding it. The parts seem to be in the UK so I'm checking on getting them shipped to the US. I might look for an airgun specialist that knows how to rebuild this model instead of doing it myself but I haven't decided yet. It's in such good shape cosmetically that it really needs to be brought back to working condition. There is almost no history available on these guns and Weihrauch website lists most of their guns by serial number, but the HW70 production dates are missing for the entire line for some reason, but since it is brown and doesn't have a safety, I'm guessing early 70s. You didn't post your part 2 link. I hope I can find it.
Filming helped me remember some things or figure out targets a couple times 😁
