    raptor tactical makes a less jank pouch you could use for counterweight

    Carcajou Tactical has a boonie hat designed to work with nvg harnesses. Just an FYI.

    How much should you size up on the boonie to fit the harness?

    This is really cool. I wonder if it's possible to do this with a baseball cap?

    • @hajduk_lives
      @hajduk_lives  10 месяцев назад

      Probably? It would have to be a backwards cap, or the brim would cause issues for sure.

      @@hajduk_lives Yeah, I was thinking backwards cap. Might even be easier to do than with the boonie, since caps hold their shape better. Would probably get roasted for wearing a backwards cap as a grown man, but it sounds like a fun mod to try. I'm going to have to get this harness.

      They make bump inserts for baseball caps. I wonder if using that for a boonie or cap would help with weight distribution

    not sure if you are an airsofter, but if so, have you figured out a way to attach facepro to this?

    • @hajduk_lives
      @hajduk_lives  4 месяца назад

      Not an airsofter, so this isn't something I've considered.

      Try one of those mesh mouthguards meant to be worn under a gaiter

    does the harness come with the shroud to mount a rhino mount?

    • @hajduk_lives

      Harness doesn’t come with a shroud.

  • @huydo1930

    honest question here, if it's nighttime you wouldn't need a boonie, wouldn't that make the concept moot?

    • @hajduk_lives
      @hajduk_lives  2 месяца назад +3

      I don’t hunt men for a living, but principles of camouflage still apply at night and camo patterns still work under NV. A boonie will also keep rain off our head, which can happen at night.
      You can also wear the boonie during the day and clip on you NV when the sun goes down. Not needing to also carry a helmet could be a benefit.

  • @MedicalGunsandGear

    How comfortable compared to an helmet?

    • @hajduk_lives
      @hajduk_lives  Год назад +3

      I rock a TW, and it’s not as comfortable in most aspects. But it is more breathable than even a bump.
      With a properly setup counterweight, this is a very comfortable and useable set up. Biggest point of discomfort is the shroud, which pitches forward resulting in the bottom edge pushing into your head, not an issue on a helmet.

      @@hajduk_lives You might be able to cut some yoga mat/memory foam to fit or stitch a small cushion to alleviate that a bit. Maybe repurposing one of those tiny neck pillows could work.
      Or you could mount the shroud to your skull I guess.
