I bought this same rc and have had a blast using it, great video!! 👍🏽
Awesome!! Thanks, glad you like it!!
Just bought this, after looking at all the options and watching your videos I figured this is the best one under $100 to get, my first hobby grade rc. Currently doing the shoe goo and drywall mesh tape on the body. Thanks for being informative and you beating on them so hard really tells us what ones are worth getting for durability.
Aweosme and glad I could help!
That is definitely one of the better Choices for under $100. 👍👍
Just bought one of these Monday and received Friday.
Unfortunately I didn’t get a 2nd body from Amazon.
So glad I got it and now I feel good about how hard I’ve been going on it after seeing you absolutely hammer down and send it with yours lol.
Ya I think I had heard they quit adding the second body unfortunately. But ya these are decent for the price!
Hope you are back to good health my brotha! Peace and blessings
Feeling much better, thanks man!!
Hi, what 3s battery did you put in this RC?
I got this car as my starter from this video. Cheers man.
Awesome! So glad I could help. Thanks!
@@DerbyCityRC you already sold me the jjrc q130 brushless and now this one :D thanks again fellow bro Dad 👊 keep up the good work your videos Rock 🤘
ps. it came today🤩 i was a little wounded when i slid the heat sync across expecting to reveal that hole because i totally got your logic. no hole .. must face down on mine 😅
Hey man love the videos I was wondering what is the battery you swapped into this and where can I find one
Thanks! I think it was this battery. This is the battery I tend to use in almost everything. Fits in these cars perfectly.
amzn.to/3Wd6Mnu
Looks pretty good. Oil shocks and 3s vid before the upgrade 😉
Will do!! 😁🤣🤣
Great work and nice video love it.Thanks 😃👍
You’re welcome, thank you!
@@DerbyCityRC 😊
what battery did you use for it?
dude awesome video...picked up the 9201E cant wait to show my 6 year old...hes gonna faint...lol
Thanks man!!
That’s awesome! I’m sure he will
Love it 👍
I bought one of these a few weeks ago and love the look of it (I'm new to the hobby). Not the fastest car, wanted to get your recommendations on getting some additional speed without spending more on upgrades than makes sense for this level car. Looks like that other battery got a few more mph so if you could give me a couple of specific recommendations on a battery I would appreciate it. Also, any advice on a specific brushless motor upgrade and the cost of that (and if any other parts are needed along with that). This body style is so cool, but I want to try to get more juice out of it without breaking the bank. Your advice would be greatly appreciated!
Welcome to the hobby!
These cars actually do take upgrades pretty well. Here is a video of a different car I did budget upgrades on. You can use the exact same parts on this one, except for the motor pinion gear.
ruclips.net/video/MxPdhiDYsHk/видео.html
Here is the correct pinion gear for your car: amzn.to/3YlloCi
Batteries that will help a bit too, like you saw in the video: amzn.to/3X67dPS
Hope this helps!
@@DerbyCityRC Hey Thanks Man! Honestly, the way I'm wired though I would rather buy my next one as a brushless 1/10 and keep this one for my son to use or just fool around with. What's your recommendation on a good durable brushless hopefully under $250? I don't need the fastest one in the shop. I've seen the jumps you do on that other video you attached above with the brushless upgrades, that kind of performance would be great for me. Just don't see dropping a hundred into my DeeRC as making sense. If I can get a few more mph our of a better battery, that works for me. What brushless ones would you recommend me to look at (hopefully with good shocks, tires, and durable). Thanks so much, love the videos and the hobby!
You’re welcome!
The absolute best bang for your buck car, with almost identical performance as the one in that video with the green truck, is this one.
amzn.to/3GWf9ON
It’s a true 1/10 scale so bigger than that green truck too. This is actually the version 2, looks like JUST got released.
I know it’s over your budget, but if you can swing it, you will be blown away.
Here’s my 2 main videos on it.
ruclips.net/video/TXl0aRLky4Q/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/dLmZj-z4p20/видео.html
I found out what was causing the issue later in on that second video.
It was the simple turn of a knob on the controller 😅
It’s tough to find a durable vehicle that is already brushless and all the other good things for under the cost of that one.
My Enoze 9204E (Pxtoys) (Deerc) (whatever), has the same stock shocks which came with oil, and they are still full last time I checked them (I had changed the oil), even if I have abused them by scratching them for long distances on concrete with the esc and motor cables, when I unintentionally turn it upside down cause of wheelies even on 2s. I ve broken front body posts and the roll cage of original body shell is pieces, eventually parts have arrived at local post office, hehe.. Original diffs and spurs are intact even with the crazy brushless power installed, really durable. I m surprised that Deerc 9201E comes with friction shocks and leak, maybe different setup from factory? Apart from that and the different body shell these trucks look and are identical.
Anyway we still need a wheelie bar for those things! (pretty sure you will eventually upgrade to brushless) 😀
Yup they are the same cars! I definitely would like to figure out a wheelie bar but haven’t put much time into it yet lol
We ordered the same truck for my son
unfortunately we broke a front CV shaft and the differential cups have a lot of wear in the slots
what do you recommend for aftermarket diff replacements / upgrades
we can find the dog bones easy enough but struggling to find the right diff
The best place to order parts you can’t find on Amazon is Pxtoysrc.com.
I haven’t been able to find any upgrades diffs yet. Just straight swap stock ones. Mine have gotten pretty worn in the cup grooves too but have not ever had to actually replace one because of that. Let it keep wearing till it won’t move lol
For the price, this thing is quite insane. It's a 1:10 scale, so pretty big especially for this price. Great review and great work! Gracias!👍👍👍
Thank you! 😁
Would you ultimately suggest this model, or the 12423 or a different truck model? I really like this one because the size but I wish it had a solid axle
Why do you wish it had a solid axle?
What type of driving do you want to do? Ramping like us or mainly street driving?
@@DerbyCityRC just because I think it's cool, I have a solid axle in my real car so it's just fun. It's mostly going to be running from my dogs in the yard so it's gotta turn well and be decent quick in the dirt but I might take it to the track when I go out too
@@DerbyCityRC so which would you choose and what's your reason? Thanks
I was just about to buy that car , but after your great video , I Think I can do better , do you have any ideia for 1:12 that go over 50kmp ? Under 200€ i just bought the Deerc 1:10 monster truck 200E ! It’s my second car! I would like something similar to that one !( it’s my first week with rc cars)
Yes watch this video!! ruclips.net/video/9mef2vZL-eY/видео.htmlsi=l9KzdUgzTsgToobU
Which 2S battery would you recommend that will fit and won’t kill the stock motor? Thanks in advance
These right here: amzn.to/3z7bbRT
This thing rocks for the price of it! I put a brushless system in my HPI wheely king, one word! INSANE!!! So I ordered another one for this rig,
Yup! I have an upgrade video on this 9201 coming up pretty soon. Have a few reviews to do first.
Wat hpi motor did u get I'm thinking about getting 1 but I want more speed thanks if u can help me 💯
I’ve put Hobbywing Max10 systems on some of my other cars like this and it works great. Those systems have been out of stock for a while though so this is a close replacement and was the same price. I used 3300kv just like this one: amzn.to/3s18vBQ
@@DerbyCityRC thanks brother I appreciate it 👍💯 and it fits wit no problem rr?
@deebrown8327 I know that esc is slightly bigger than the Hobbywing, but it should still fit. Also you need a new motor pinion and transmitter/receiver.
This video here should help out some. It’s pretty short but has some information on it. Same chassis on this car: ruclips.net/video/9E3rVUqnNwc/видео.htmlsi=Q7pHJzQND_3j1dEM
neat RC
Thanks!
Would it be a good idea to add a second heatsink to the brush motor?
I’d say so. Shouldn’t hurt it
Can you tell me witch metal skide plate you used for the hbx 2995/fc610? Ordered a fc610 after watching you’re reviews/tutorials, going brushless and a bit of reinforcements can’t hurt.
While those are probably the most durable and upgradeable Cheap RCs you can get, I agree it could use metal plates. But I haven’t looked into that yet. I’m about to replace the chassis on my 2995 for the second time so I’ll be looking for a few solutions to problems while doing that. 👍👍
@@DerbyCityRC Spatula mod!
🤣🤣
@@DerbyCityRC found the part, number PX9200-32.
It’s the protection metal plate add front.
Oh, that doesn’t fit the 2995. Yes that’s what I used on my Pxtoys cars. It definitely may work with some alterations on the 2995 or the fc610, though!! 👍👍
I had covid. Didn't realize I was sick until half way through my shift I jogged up a couple flights of stairs and was out of breath. I just had low energy for a couple of days. I hope yours is no worse.
Ya mine got worse. Luckily it was only really bad for one day and night. Fever with bad body aches and chills. Hopefully on the downside of it now. Thanks!
Which oil filled shocks do you recommend?
I don’t have the link on hand, but it’s the same shocks I have linked in this video description 👍 ruclips.net/video/MxPdhiDYsHk/видео.html
Hello Derby City RC,
your videos are really great and show what the cars can take. Because of you, I bought the 9201e 😉 Now I need a new servo. Which one would you recommend as an upgrade?
Best Regards from Germany
Thanks! I’m glad I helped you find a good car! I have not used any upgraded servos on these yet, so unfortunately I dont know lol
Wondering if anyone has converted this into brushless motor
Not this exact model, but I have done it to a couple cars with the same chassis.
I have several videos on it.
Here is how they are with my favorite setup! ruclips.net/video/8mgh8dPEF4U/видео.html
Only thing is, the short course body shell on this would get beat up really quickly if you jump it.
@@DerbyCityRC
After watching your videos. I want do some small upgrades, shocks convert to brushless motor. I caught the upgrade bug. 😂
That’s great!! The upgrade bug is my best friend! Once it embedded in my brain, we started having daily tea time and telling each other dad jokes. He’s a good bug to have!!
Hiya ive just got my 8 year old cough cough or me lol this for his birthday next week total beginners what other battery can get for this without damaging it i see u put another in made it bit better dont wanna kill the motor what u recommend thanks
It’s a fun car! I used these. They fit right in. amzn.to/3BVcvpI
Just give the car a good break between batteries to let it cool down or you will eventually burn up the motor. Same goes for most cars
@@DerbyCityRC thanks mate 👍
I was just browsing amazon to buy something for my nephew....ened up ordering two, since us old farts will probably race all night long once kids go to bed :D. Love the vids btw.
Haha super fun!
Thanks!!
I just got one and tested it alittle but I was wondering in you could or anyone could post a link for a brushless motor upgrade ✌🏼🤙🏼 thanks
amzn.to/3WxG0X6
This set works great!
Here is a video on it. Car looks different, but chassis is the exact same.
ruclips.net/video/9E3rVUqnNwc/видео.html
I have several videos on this chassis and doing upgrades on them
Is it plug and play or do you need to change out everything thanks again for the response
You do need to change the servo as well. Also in most cases you need to get a new pinion gear for it. Most of these don’t come with grub screws to easily remove the old pinion gear. Aaaaaand then of course also a new transmitter and receiver. So not plug and play unfortunately.
I hope you get well soon.
Thanks bro!!
Can't wait to see this with a brushless motor!
Well I’ve already got two other cars with this same chassis that are beefed up! I may save the brushless upgrade for something else 👍👍
@@DerbyCityRC which cars are the ones with the same chasis?
There’s quite a few but the ones I know off hand are the Holyton 9205e, the Deerc 9206e, Enoze 9204e. Different brand names too lol. There’s a few more I just can’t remember them all
Me and by son just got into rc’s a few months ago w/ two Bezgar HB101 trucks. Everything but the shell seems to be the same… anyone know the body name or frame name so we can google mods? Forums to join? Currently adding a 5k lipo in series for more run time
These cars are based off the PXtoys model: PX9200. There are many parts available at pxtoysrc.com.
I have several older videos of another one of these called the Holyton 9205E and I did motor upgrades and other things. Might be worth checking out.
Awesome getting more run time just be careful as those motors an get hot!
hello, I love your video, I would like to know if you can put a lift on it? Make it a bit more off road rig. Thank you
They actually have several other vehicle types on this same chassis, so if there is room you can change which holes you mount the shocks on the lower control arm to raise or lower the stance.
You can also use these shocks which raise it slightly as well. These are much better shocks anyway.
amzn.to/3mqHc1i
What type of battery would you recommend as well? The one that came with it died very fast on me
I use these. It’s been a while but I think they fit right in! amzn.to/41aLQzq
Would this Rc be capable of running a 2000mah battery without burning out the motor?
I’d say it should be be fine as long as it’s not too hot outside. Keep an eye on motor temps. If it’s too hot to touch, you could cause damage.
Great video! This one or the Holyton 920SE? Thank you.
Thanks!
You mean the 9205E correct?
If you’re going to do jumps, go with the Holyton.
If you’re going more fun surface bashing, go with this one.
They’re exactly the same minus the bumpers, the body, and the extra tire on the 9201e.
The body on this one breaks easier if jumping due to its shape.
👍👍
@@DerbyCityRC Thank you for taking the time to reply. Take care!
You’re welcome!!
Can you recommend a good servo for this?
Unfortunately I haven’t looked into it for these!
How much does a full set of those shocks cost
EDIT: Is there a way I van get just the shell?
here are the shocks: www.banggood.com/custlink/KvmybYETAz
I have not seen the body by itself yet.
@@DerbyCityRC it looks like they come in pairs, would I buy two sets of these for a identical four?
Correct. 2 sets are needed
I have one it is very good quality although if you do put blue Loctite on the threads of the tire the tires will be more fragile because blue Loctite is bad for plastic
Yes I agree. 👍👍
Gotta choose your battles I guess lol a small enough fan may stay on the threads and not touch the plastic
I bought this a month ago what upgrades do you recommend i want to make mine faster
Check out my videos on the Holyton 9205e. It’s the same car platform and I’ve upgraded two of them. Very fun for sure!
@@DerbyCityRC thanks for the information cant wait to upgrade it
I think you’ll be happy with it!
Brushed is slower that brushless right 👍
Yes it is! It’s a more primitive technology. Brushless is pretty new and is more efficient.
As a cheaper option You should put a 550 size motor and speed run it
That is true!!
Mine arrives tomorrow...been waiting all week! I almost sprung for 3S batteries but will wait 😅
AWESOOOOOME!!!!!!
@@DerbyCityRC so the advertising says oil filled shocks, you mentioned friction shocks which I'm not familiar with unless it's just plastic tubed sliding against each other. but you said there's oil leaking from the shocks?
oh and I sprang for some 3s batteries, 2x Zeee 2200mah 50C 3S (2 for $25 with 30% coupon) and also a $12 2S/3S Lipo charger that I hope I won't regret cheaping out on. I don't know if that was a good choice of battery or not but it looks like it physically fit, and I think the right connector, the 9301e uses Dean's plug correct?
my roll of white duct tape and exacto knife are all set to reinforce the body shell while I let batteries charge and then it's time to go rip! even have a better tire and wheel set ready to install, some nice 87mm buggy-style short course nub spike or whatever they're called type tires that absolutely kick ass even on my 1/16th 9500E (I did have to trim a fair amount of fender away so that I could turn the wheels 🤣)
anyway if you have any answers or advice regarding the 3S batteries I mentioned above, do you think those will work reliability in the 9301e?
@rtpfixit yes they advertise oil filled, and there is actually oil on them, but it’s useless lol. They don’t act like oil filled shocks at all. Lol
I do like zeee batteries! I’ve got a few and zero issues with them after 3 years, just make sure to read the lipo safety instructions. Very important. Yes it’s a deans 😄
@@DerbyCityRC got it today and had my little unboxing. man the shell is really big like a horseshoe crab or something. I had to do a little trimming around the wheel wells to get rid of the wheel rub, also lined the inner surface of the body with heavy duty white duct tape, my preferred way of body shell reinforcement. the wheels are gigantic! on my first run I actually mounted up some 87mm short course buggy spikes and they seemed tiny.
I did end up getting 3S Lipos, the battery compartment is not huge so I opted for 2200mah 50C shorty packs. honestly it was able to tear stuff up on the stock 2S Li-on(!) packs that it came with. I'll be back to report on 3S shenanigans in a bit
yeah these shocks are not going to cut it in the long run. I've got the springs compressed like 40%F/20%R which helped damp things down a little bit at the expense of compression travel
Holy $%!# on 3S this thing is WILD. Gave it a pop of throttle to test indoors, it wheelied up and came for me lol. I took it out and with the throttle dialed down went through a 3S pack with no problems. the motor was hot enough to smell, but it recovered.
How to buy replacement parts?? Upgrade parts also??
Some are on Amazon, anything else should be available pxtoysrc.com!
Where could we get extra parts?
Some see available on Amazon.
Most others at pxtoysrc.com, and anything not there, you could reach out to Deerc for. They do have good customer service.

The 2995 for durability hands down.
I believe it’s a mile or two faster than the 9201e also! Plus, it takes upgrades really well once you do want it to go faster!
@@DerbyCityRC
👍 Thank you there is only $10.00 difference in-between the two cars !
Those cars look great after you upgrade them to brushless but stock wise they are not impressive. Also the shocks needs upgrade and after all the cost of upgrade it is better to buy a rival mt10 which I have and like or an arrma big rock.
Yes I agree. There is definitely a sense of fun in doing your own upgrades though. And the fact that when this one breaks, parts are super cheap and it’s very easy to work on. With all the different cars I show, people can decide what is best for them. So these cheaper ones that can take upgrades are also good for beginners, and then once they get practice in, they do the upgrades and have a faster car. Always up to the viewer to weigh the pros and cons 😎
@@DerbyCityRC I agree and the best small car to practice on is the HBX Pro. from stock it comes great, you put on the big wheels and its a stunt truck. Later one can go with the path of a bit more expensive cars which requires a charger and batteries sold separately or go upgrade a deerc 1/12. I would go arrma 3s line or team associated rival MT10 at a later stage.
I definitely like that thinking! The pro and the mt10 are similar in respect to their scale sizes! I finally got my mt10 ready for a 3s run so that will be soon!
