We show you which brushless motor we chose and why, and we show you which vehicle chassis platform can take the punishment.
After that, we show you the real proof by putting it to the test on the bash course.
This vehicle platform has several different body styles to choose from depending on which company you purchase it from.

This video has helped me with my anxiety over choosing a brushless set up, to upgrade my SCT. Thanks!!
The Hobbywing is awesome!! Let me know if you need links for any parts, but I believe I have them all listed in the description 😇
Loving your vids and learning a lot as a new rc enthusiast. Great stuff! I am starting with the Hosim X-07, but the wife bought this car..We want to upgrade this model and this helps heaps! :D Thanks!
Awesome! You’re welcome man!!
Hope you guys enjoy. It makes for a great time!!
Thank you so much for your video!
You’re very welcome!!
Mate I'm really enjoying your videos and informative content. Had to sub there so I get future notificatios of future and past vids iv missed. Also love how you make time to reply to my questions. Keep up the good work bud. Appreciated here in the UK. 🍻
So glad you’re liking them! I try to pack as much info in as I can while still making them fun! I like talking to everyone so thanks for asking questions! I’m in Kentucky in the US. Thanks so much for watching and subbing and liking!! 🤗😎😎
The green one looks like it has some pretty good air control. 👍 The other one doesn't seem to handle All that bad either. And they do seem pretty strong pretty durable.
I agree!! Not quite as good as some of the newer models I’ve been using, but still pretty darn good!
Thank you so much for your information and links to the parts
No problem 👍
I got the deerc 210e put 1/8 paddle tires on. It didn't like that, so I got the hobbyfans 80a esc and 3650 motor combo. All stock pinion and spur gears. Wow thing is crazy now. Got a holyton for all the spare parts, kids old rc.
Awesome! A Holyton for spares is the best way lol
thanks for all your great info
You’re very welcome!! 🤗😎😎
Love the content 👍
Thanks, man!!
Epic info video buddy good job 💪👊
Thanks! Definitely a great smaller scale car for the price!
Great videos! Thanks. Didn't find link for servo.
Thanks!
Sometimes they are out of stock on the servo. Just keep checking back if they are.

I recently took a nose dive into the rc world and learning how to fix and upgrade. Out of all the videos out there, I gotta say your videos are the best! I appreciate all the knowledge you are sharing! One ?, do I have to change the stock servo on the 9206e when converting to brushless?
Glad the vids are helping and welcome to a great hobby!
Yes you do need to swap the servo as it will not be compatible. It won’t even be able to plug in. Here is the one you need: amzn.to/49rCNyn
I support what your doing keep at it bro
Thanks man! These cars are insanely fun with that Hobbywing set!
sweet as dude I love these cars, i have the deerc 9200e and i am gonna go the Hobbywing route 🤘😈❤🔥
Niiiiiiiice!!!
A very detailed, informative video, my friend! I appreciate all the links you provided as well. Subbed!
Thanks! Very glad you liked it!!
@@DerbyCityRC Oh, by the way, in your video you mentioned new beefier shocks. Would you be able to provide a link to those?
Yup! Here they are! Its a pack of 2. www.banggood.com/custlink/mKvdbC5GSw

@@DerbyCityRC Awesome, man! I appreciate ya! Will definitely check out that video, mate! Cheers!
I like how you upgrade your cars good video
Thanks!!
Hi there just wondering if the more expensive upgrade would work on a deerc 9201e. Thanks for your video
Sure would! Exact same chassis!
Not sure of the link in that video is good any more, so just in case here’s the motor and esc: amzn.to/3Pq0Owg
Is that available to you?
I wish some of those motor kits were still available. If you see this I’d appreciate a brushless recommendation on Amazon for the holyton.
I will see what I can find for you.
It sucks that items don’t use the same link when they get them back in stock.
great video friend🤝
Thank you very much!! ✊😎
U mentioned about one of the diffs grinding. How does the diffs and drivetrain hold up to all the extra power and can you get replacement parts?
Yes. With oversized tires and with 3s, the car basically destroys itself. Diffs, axles, lower control arms. I just filmed for a video today on it. Broke with almost every big jump. Honestly, since making this video, I’ve found a much better car to upgrade. Check this one out:

2 yrs later i know but some great info here thanks bro 👍, you have a lot of knowledge with rc cars that is clear, i was into the hobby many yrs ago but want to get back into it again, and i like 1/10 scale or lower with a 1/12 as a maybe option, i do like hbx products and will try one or two of those out sometime soon and even the little 1/16 hyper go looks peretty solid but i dont like 14 and up scale as the driving experience becomes more unrealistic and toy like for me, does hbx make a 1/10 scale ?, im a poor pensioner from South Africa so im looking for something cheapish but good in 10nth or 8th scale, i do love the more expensive stuff but my pocket would never have it lol, it takes me three months of saving just to get something worth $150 with someone like my wife in control of the cash lmao 🤣, (hope she dont see this cuz then i be getting fkall lol 👀) peace from South Africa and thnanks for interresting content bro, i do enjoy it ✌
Those motors with ribs are 2847 in 3650 cans. ESC and motor have to work much harder to push heavier cars. Largest cars I'd put those systems in are 1:14 scale.
They can push these 1/12 scale cars ok, but they get hit much easier. I agree a true 36xx is a much better Choice.
You need to be a teacher! You explain things very well.
Why thank you! 🙏😊👍
Brenda right now I don't think you know but I have the holyton RC car it's kind of squirrely, but I do believe when you come visit you will totally fall in love with it
pin gear is it the stock one that will fit the motor or what kind you use
The stock one should last a while if you use the stock plastic spur gear. I ended up getting a Hot Racing pinion gear when I had a metal spur, but I went back to plastic. The pinion gear size is MOD 0.6, 22T. If used to be on Amazon but seems it no longer is.
Hey I’m still thinking of getting the max 10 hobbywing but i want to ask if im forced to buy a new receiver if I do buy the max 10? Plz respond
It’s a great system, but yes the stock esc on most of these cheaper vehicles has the receiver built into it. So when replacing the esc, you also need a new receiver with transmitter
are there other good battery options for a battery, and does the esc have an included connector
Yes Ovonic makes good batteries, but the ones that fit are currently out of stock
Do you think the cheaper* 60A esc you listed would work with an ARRMA blx 3800kv brushless motor?
I don’t think I would trust it. I’d stick with a higher brand esc for the higher brand motors. ESCs are usually the weak point and can catch fire.
Hi there need to find a charger not to expensive for the XT60 battery or can you get an adapter and charge it with the dean connector charger thank you
I’m actually not very fluent on chargers . I use basic USB chargers for all my batteries except an EC5 charger for my Kraton batteries. Check out Van City RC’s channel. He has reviewed a few chargers on his channel recently and they look like they have xt60 plugs!👍
Thanks for watching!
@DerbyCityRc I had a question, I have a holyton 9200 E series car like the one in your left hand at the beginning of the video, in need to replace because the one of the steering dogbones in the rear because the spindle for the tire is slightly bent, and it seems that the bearing is causing the arm to be stuck in the hub, how do you get that out and have you been able to find the correct size bearing to put into a new hub? Also what banded tires have you found fit the car, I keep buying 1:10 scale tires for it and they are too big, I am afraid I will be burning up a pinion gear.
Sometimes those axle stubs are tough to get out from the bearings and it just takes force or gentle prying. Sometimes when they bend, they “friction fit” to the bearing. I don’t remember off hand what size the bearings are. I have it in one of my other Holyton videos from a while ago but I can’t remember which one lol.
This isn’t a true 1/10 scale car. It’s sized more like a 1/12 scale. So if you go for tires more for a 1/12 scale, that should help!
@@DerbyCityRC thank you for the reply man, keep the videos coming!
@skunko162 you’re welcome!
I sure will!!
Also if I do get the max10 what gears do you recommend for top speed?
Unfortunately you can’t really change gear sizes on this car. It’s a fixed motor mount. I just use the stock spur with an upgraded 22T pinion, which is the stock size.
It’s been 2 weeks now that the RC bug bit me! After watching a whole bunch of RUclips vids, your channel really stands out to me…
For a beginner, would you recommend the Deerc 9206e or the new upgraded 200e? I definitely want to do upgrades in the future! With both models having the same platform, minus the motor and esc, which one would make upgrades easier?
Thanks! I’m happy to hear that!
Well if you plan on upgrading, I would go with the cheaper 9206e. I’m about to do a review on the 210e, but it may still be a few weeks. Have you set on these two cars for sure?
Have you seen my videos on the Flyhal fc610?
That is one of my favorite cheap cars and I’m about to do a budget brushless conversion on it.
@@DerbyCityRC Yeah I’m pretty sold on this car… If I go with the 9206e then I would have to upgrade the receiver also. Right?
Thats correct. I’m not sure if the 200e comes with a separate receiver so if you were to upgrade that one, may still need to buy all the same parts (except the servo).
I can say most likely buying your own brushless motor will be much more powerful that the 200e or the 210e, but I should know more once I review the 210e that’s in the mail.
@@DerbyCityRC So, you didn’t change the servo on these builds??? Thanks for all the help and replies
I used to servo that comes with the brushless cars, like the 200e, so if you get a brushed one like the 9206e and convert it, you will need to get one of those servos, but If you get a 200e or a 210e and upgrade it, the servos those come with should be fine.
Does anyone know if the Deerc 9200e have a low voltage cutoff with the stock setup?
I believe so. Before we upgraded our Holyton 9205e, which is the same car, it definitely seemed like it had a low voltage cut off.
I know this video is old but I have a 9206e that I converted to brushless for my 9 year old daughter. Problem is the 3s packs I bought will not let the factory hold down clip fit. You said you used straps. Id like to know where you went through on the chassis. I see the 2 holes on the outter part but where did you put the straps on the inside of the car towards the driveshaft?
When I did this, I believe I didn’t go through anything on the inside part, however, they have another car out that’s the exact same and they run bath straps through the slots on the upper chassis brace only. Even though they don’t line up perfectly with the battery tray. Either of those should work 👍
Well here is the build for my daughter. I put a 3300kv 3660 surpass hobby motor and esc, larger tires, 2mm axle pins in drive axles, oil filled shocks, dumborc transmitter and receiver, and custom painted body. Look pretty good and she can’t wait to get it out. But the weather has been horrible. Thanks for all you do, a lot of my build, the influence came from your videos.
I don't see how you don't have more views and subs your great !!!
Thanks man! I wonder the same thing!! Lol. Growing pretty steadily, though. Super happy you’re enjoying our videos!! I haven’t forgotten about your product links. Those are coming up. Feel free to share our channel with anyone you think may like it! 😄
So the tires are the stock tires out of the box, although in the more recent videos with that green body car, I have oversized Traxxas tires installed on it. So fun!

Hey there! I have the DeeRC 9200e. Have any of yours have the pinion on the stock motor without a grubscrew? Mine doesn't, and won't come off the motor so I can take the motor plate off. Have you come across this before?
Hello! Yes I have had that issue. Seems all the newest ones don’t have the grub. I’ve just ordered a new pinion gear to solve that issue. Here is the ink to the proper gear. Then you can either order a new motor mount or carefully press or cut the old gear off so you can get the old mount off to reuse. Thanks for watching!!

THE GREATEST RC PLATFORM OF ALL TIME
It’s good for the money, but I do not agree. For a budget RC, the hbx 2995/2996a takes the cake now!
What size sre the hub bearings?
I can’t remember. If I can find the packaging I’ll let you know. I’ve got them somewhere!
@Derby City RC okay thank you
PLEASE HELP ME!! I recently bought a Holyton 9205e. I am looking to upgrade the suspension parts, but I have no clue what parts will work on this car. If these companies would list dimensions on their parts I would have much more hair left on my head. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
Check out Pxtoysrc.com. Any of the parts that are listed for a model number starting with 92 will work. Like 9206e, 9205e, 9201e. That should help!
Can you help me I'm trying to find the the axles for my 302E rear I mean
You need rear axles for the Holyton 9205e? Front and rears are the same.
Here is a set of two: amzn.to/39V8TZe
302E RC
Got it. I don’t have one of those, but the best place to get parts seems to be from haiboxingtoys.com.
Bro it's like you took me to heaven with those parts
🙏 Glad I could help!
Hello you mentioned in your video about metal spur gear for this car do you have the link to where I can purchase them at please and thank you
Here is the metal spur I ordered. It worked well at first, but it takes some strange maneuvering to get the gear mesh to be correct (even though the mount is not adjustable). So I went back to plastic and have not had an issue with them yet.
www.haiboxingtoys.com/pxtoys-9202-parts/2754-pxtoys-9202-upgrade-parts-metal-reduction-gear.html
Thanks bro I appreciate it
The problem that I'm having is I upgraded my car to brushless and it stripped the spur gear I think it is too much power for the plastic spur
That’s interesting. You should watch some of my other videos on that car. I blast the crap out of it and have yet to strip a spur gear. Actually the metal spur gear stripped out my pinion gear, so I had to get a stronger pinion also, but like I said, I have since gone back to plastic. But I was able to get the metal one to work after a bit of trial and error. Mesh was too tight, but loosening and tightening the gear cover a few times seemed to help 👍👍
Great thanks keep doing what you are doing love to see how excited your son is in your videos
Is this better than the tamiya dt03?
Not sure I’ve never had a tamiya yet.
Your videos are very well detailed. I think that since Tamiya and Traxxas offer entry offroad similarly priced people will appreciate your feedback.
@autismapostle thanks! I’m sure I’ll snag some of those eventually!!
Where did you find the 3 pin servo?
Banggood used to have one. I can check and get you a link if they still do.
Found it! Here you go! www.banggood.com/custlink/GDDhbRUwOo
@@DerbyCityRC appreciate that my guy.. one other question; did you have a hard time removing motor from motor mount and pinion gear?
Sometimes I did. Some of the stock motors have a set screw for the pinion, and some have the pinion pressed on. The pressed ones are a bit tougher to remove. I believe I just ordered a new one for the motor I had that was pressed. All the new pinions I ordered came with set screws
@@DerbyCityRC I’m asking how did you go about getting the factory motor from motor mount?
If you landed in the grass more often you'd have alot less breakages lol
For sure 😂
So you mean to say that you made the holyton brushless?
Correct. It already has been upgraded.
Both the Holyton cars in this video have been converted to brushless.
@@DerbyCityRC could you tell me where you got the desert journey RC car body right now I have the holyton, and I'm finding out from you that you can interchange the bodies
@@sandiwiezycki2224 I’m about to order another one. It was kind of hard to find. Let me look for it and I’ll give you a link. Is the desert journey the only body you want?
@@DerbyCityRC why thank you I appreciate you doing that 😎 I forgot to mention your videos are awesome like I said I have a holyton myself and I just love it. By the way do you have any suggestions because the holyton car is a little squirrely do you have any suggestions how to make it actually go straight I do think it has a a mind of its own sometimes.
