EDIT: i have played way more up to today. My experience has changed drastically and i would emplore reading the answers to my original comment for further elaboration. This essentially is an outdated comment. I'm 6 hours in and still missing any engaging gameplay. This game has many good features it has borrowed from other games, progression is close to warframe (which is really nice) and the mission style is close to that of destiny for the most part(which I do respect as well), but the actual fights are extremely boring to me. Even worse I do not feel the need myself becoming stronger when I upgrade my gear. That is due to the way enemies are scaled. They are really few, low HP and really dumb. I do not feel like my "power fantasy" could ever be reached in this game. I do not feel like I am getting stronger since everything is easy and extremely limited from the start. Warframe got me engaged because I improved my stuff further resulting in me killing even more enemies with one button-press. Destiny had really strong gunplay and well designed encounters resulting in satisfying boss battles. The Division had bullet-sponge enemies where every little upgrade could be felt because they would chop off a lot of "time to kill". Remnant from the ashes got engaging because enemies pressured you a lot and made me stressed pretty much non-stop. With First Decendant it does not feel like any of these. I one-shot most enemies instantly, and most of the time they spawn in groups of 2. I often saw a single enemy spawn alone. Even when I am playing in a 3 player group. This game needs improvements when it comes to regular enemies. They need to be more impactful, more dangerous and more in numbers. Most of the game feels like I am just waiting for enemies to appear.
10 minutes in I was already begging for something to be a challenge. 6 hours later, I was still begging. Gonna play through the story and see if the difficulty increases somewhere I guess.
I don't want to this game became second Warframe, in my opinion it's good that there aren't millions enemies at ones and you don't move with lightspeed
@@raven5323 that's fair, but it would also be fair to aknowledge I am not comparing it just to warframe. I am saying the game lacks challenge for the most part and that the lootgame-progression does not get a lot of moments to be felt at all. I do not say that they should up the numbers of enemies exclusively, I am giving possible measures to handle the issue I am raising, one singular of these multiple options would me more enemies.
@@pokemonfan2630 what a cheap shot answer to someone raising their honest concern about something. If you'd come around and tell me that there is a point where the game gets more interesting or just tell me your experience is a different one I'd actually listen up, but the way you comment you could have just kept that attitude to yourself.
Its grind heavy and pay to speed up. When you buy an ultimate you get a skin and that descendant. If not you must wait to grind parts for the descendants you want.
It's a warframe in it's entirety of the mechanics with way less to do. The mechanics of upgrade and descendants and etc is warframe but it's still fun.
^ fr. Warframe has so much content. People should keep that in mind compared to this new experience. I can’t even remember what warframe was like in the beginning it’s been so long
Frame has an incredibly deep story. It does not encourage you to grind away at least not until you finish 10 years of contact factors absolutely no need to grind away and tell you finished 10 years of contact.
Ngl, had more fun with Anthem in the 1st few hours than this. Doesn't help the FPS dips constantly when you get a cluster of enemies which seems to dip below 15 FPS lol.
Anthem was amazing, its sad they gave up on it, its like outriders! That was great fun but pretty buggy. Hopefully this holds me better than the division 2 did

@@lapisgaming6093it’s difficult for something like this to survive when things like warframe and destiny exist which are staples of the genre. Definitely possible
@@lapisgaming6093There’s not much content, and all of the content you can get to fairly quickly, or just straight up pay for. It doesn’t have the Warframe effect, where you come back to play new story quests and modes. It may bring the Destiny type raids, but that’s about all it’s got. It seems like a game that people are having fun with because it’s new and everything is fresh. Kinda like every CoD game that has came out in the last 10 years. We gotta wait for the next few months, but I can’t see them having enough compelling gameplay, descendants, etc. to retain its player-base.
I tried it but was immediately turned off by the generic sci-fi setting. Warframe has it atleast different (with the whole bio stuff etc.). Gameplay was ok, nothing we havent seen before.
Beta was not nine months long, and series x version i've had no issues performance wise 3 hours into it. P2W is concerning with being able to buy ultimate versions of the heroes and material boosts plus gold boosts
I believe it has released in a reasonable state, there are some issues that I have had like when soloing a mission none of the enemies dropping ammo just energy. This led to me having to just use special attacks until a near by resource droid cools down so I can grab ammo, head shots were not causing much damage with various guns. The fidelity mode with or without ray tracing was so slow and the performance mode really slows down at times. The graphics are good , it crashed about 3 times in 2 hours. My feeling is in about 6 months it's gonna be fantastic. Don't know if it's gonna be a Warframe it's gonna have to do some big jumps to get that good.
What do you think now when pre season ended? I started playing a week ago and damn this game is good! Im not spending any money and the progress goes faster than i thought.
The First Descendant, developed by Nexon, is designed to be a large-scale, action-packed looter-shooter. Here’s a more technical breakdown of the issues and the game's scale: ### Technical Issues 1. **Bugs and Glitches** - **Crash Reports**: Frequent crashes disrupt gameplay. - **Graphical Artifacts**: Visual errors like texture pop-in and clipping issues. - **AI Pathfinding**: Enemies or NPCs getting stuck or behaving erratically. - **Mission Triggers**: Objectives not registering, causing missions to be unfinishable. 2. **Poor Optimization** - **Frame Rate Drops**: Significant drops in FPS, especially during intense battles. - **Long Load Times**: Extended periods to load into different areas or missions. - **Hardware Utilization**: Inefficient use of CPU and GPU resources, leading to overheating or excessive power consumption. 3. **Pay-to-Win Mechanics** - **Exclusive Gear**: High-tier weapons or armor only available through microtransactions. - **Progression Boosters**: Items that accelerate leveling or resource gathering for paying players. - **Gacha Systems**: Randomized loot boxes that encourage spending for better chances at rare items. 4. **Repetitive Gameplay** - **Mission Design**: Lack of variety in objectives, often boiling down to fetch quests or wave defense. - **Enemy Variety**: Limited types of enemies, leading to predictable combat encounters. - **Endgame Content**: Insufficient activities for high-level players, causing them to grind the same content repeatedly. 5. **Lack of Content** - **Limited Maps**: Few distinct locations, leading to reused environments. - **Short Campaign**: A main storyline that can be completed quickly, with few side quests or expansions. - **Event Frequency**: Infrequent updates or special events to keep players engaged. 6. **Unbalanced Gameplay** - **Overpowered Items**: Certain weapons or abilities dominate, reducing the viability of diverse playstyles. - **Skill Trees**: Poorly balanced skill trees that make certain builds much stronger. - **PvP Imbalance**: Player versus player combat that heavily favors certain classes or equipment. 7. **Server Issues** - **Latency**: High ping causing delayed actions and rubberbanding. - **Disconnects**: Frequent server disconnects during gameplay. - **Maintenance**: Extended or unplanned maintenance windows. 8. **Poor Customer Support** - **Response Time**: Slow responses to player inquiries or bug reports. - **Resolution Quality**: Inadequate solutions provided for reported issues. - **Support Channels**: Limited ways to contact support, such as lack of live chat. 9. **Mediocre Graphics** - **Texture Quality**: Low-resolution textures or inconsistent visual fidelity. - **Lighting**: Poor lighting effects that don't enhance the game's atmosphere. - **Animations**: Stiff or unpolished character animations. 10. **Unoriginal Story** - **Plot Clichés**: Overused story tropes and predictable plot twists. - **Character Development**: Shallow characters with minimal backstory or development. - **World Building**: Lack of depth in the game’s universe, with few unique elements. ### Game Scale The First Descendant aims to offer a vast in-game world with diverse environments and expansive maps. Some key aspects include: - **Map Size**: The game features large, open-world maps with various biomes, including urban ruins, forests, and deserts. - **Player Count**: Supports both solo and co-op gameplay with up to four players per squad. - **Content Variety**: Includes PvE missions, world bosses, and events, though some players feel the content is limited or repetitive. - **Level Design**: Incorporates verticality and exploration, with hidden areas and secrets to discover. Despite its ambition, the game's scale may feel constrained by the aforementioned issues, impacting the overall player experience.
I don't know who told you it doesn't perform well on PC. I average about 100 FPS once I unlock the framerate and turn off vsync. I can't imagine trying to play this on a console, though.
If you like Destiny 2 and Outriders, you will likely enjoy this game. I have had no issues ignoring any sort of microtransactions so far as well. My only major gripe so far is that I wish there was more personalization options to individualize your character.
I just can't vibe with games that demand an extraordinary amount of time for the end goal to ultimately be grinding cosmetics. If you find yourself in that situation where you realize your time in a live service game is essentially meaningless outside of short-term enjoyment, maybe its time to get to that backlog of games you've been piling up.
I bought the battlepass and that’s it. 25 hours in and have descent gear and enough maths. Sure paying helps the progress a lot but really not needed. A have 4 descendants and enough to do in the game
Duh, you’re not going to play the game that’s been out for months that hasn’t had a true update yet. It’s a new game, and everyone’s bored, the game doesn’t do anything special, or innovative, and is mostly a Warframe knockoff with big titty Korean girls. Ofc it’s going to be interesting. We’ll only see if it’s a good game in a few months, or even weeks.
This is literally destiny. When a friend told me that it was just like warframe and helldivers, I downloaded it so fast even spent 9 bucks buying bunny. I feel sorry for those that spent 100 for the ultimate skin 🤣🤣

I also had a decent time with this, there is some performance dips on ps5 for sure, but also heard this is the case accross the board. Has potential, its a nice get home from work and mindlessly level up and shoot stuff kind of game
No performance issues for me, running a 3060ti R7 5800x. High everything besides physics set to ultra and RT on medium. Dlss set to quality. Having a steady 120ish fps in open world and missions, with 75ish in Albion when people are loading in and out. Id actually like to hear what specs and settings others are running when having these issues. Ive been seeing mixed reports for consoles but not much you can do for that.
7600 + 4070 Super ... same settings as you pretty much, a steady 90+ fps with the occasional traversal hitch. With the settings I use, the GPU is only showing at most 60%-70% usage, so I could push things more so. However, I really don't like the gameplay, so it will be deleted later on. I did experience some weird issues with severe ghosting, the only way to resolve - toggle between DLSS options. Presumably drivers ... but yes - back to Destiny 2, which is superior in every way, shape and form.
What bugs me about people complaining about micro transactions etc is that to make a game costs a lot of money, to run a live service game capable of supporting thousands of concurrent players cost A LOT of money so given you're not paying for it what would you imagine keeps the lights on? ALL of the descendants can be unlocked via the quest line, cosmetics, exactly the same as Rust, appear to be charged, but that's after you've played it, if you like it, then buy some skins - seems like a fair deal.
It's crazy, more games are headed in the direction of being F2P, yet everyone is still bitching cause you either have to grind to get what you want, or it's "pay to win" which basically just means if you want to unlock a character, you can pay for them instead of grinding. People are getting mad because you have to play the game, it's insane.
The designs of the characters are cool too plus the dev team have been really open with what they're working on. They have everyone some boosters for compensation because they were having problems on launch. I never really play these types of games and the thing that attracts me the most is the challenge I get. Constantly having to adapt by changing my modules and weapons. The story isn't the best but it's somewhat interesting.
@robyfaraa4105 I'm about 15ish hours in and haven't paid a dime. The progression is actually pretty smooth so far and wouldn't consider it a slog at all. I think it'd actually make the game less immersive if I were to swipe.
Got to the old human base or whatever its called, the one mission where you have to collect 50 orbs within 2mins and its clunky platforming made me quit yesterday. Not going back.
The skin prices make over watch look nice cheapest for a ultimate bundle skin only is about 70 dollars the limited skins are 20 to 40 per character skin I get ppls excuse is cause the characters are free but wow apart from that it was fun I got lag sometimes but apart from that it's somewhat satisfying
The gameplay looks so painfully generic that I don't even feel like bothering to download. The attractive character designs sure look refreshing, though. Much better than some boring and generic-looking CoD characters.
Tbh at the end of the day it's a game, I don't really have much time for them nowadays but I'm enjoying this one, I don't see why people get up in arms about them as much as they do. Just play and have fun
Been enjoying the game so far. This could be solid comp for watframe if they get a bit more ‘experimental’ with the weapons. The damage sponge thing is gonna be a slog if it’ll just be a numbers game
Honestly, I really enjoy the game: shooting feels amazing, no lags and I would not say it's pay to win... Game is quite generous with rewards. Currently playing on PC and no FPS drops. Very stable.
*Everybody listen to me!* This game is nothing like Destiny or Warframe I remember playing destiny and it was so boring. I played Warframe and it just felt same, as if you are locked in one room. This is a like Anthem but done right. Its has that borderlands and Anthem feeling. Best part about it is that it feels more like dark souls with the boss fights and needs cooperation with friends otherwise you will all die. This game is really addictive. Its very fast paced. If you want full experience and enjoyement, you have to play with friends or a squad you find online. This game is totally worth it. If you are a elden ring fan, like borderlands and wanted an Anthem type game done right, this is it.
My main thing is gameplay. Are the enemies all bullet sponges? If so thats a deal-breaker. I want enemies to be engaging to fight. (Like can only damaged from the back, or has mechanics) As well as guns to be interesting and unique to use. (Think needler from halo) Please let me know how it works. Thank you.
Enemies are bullet sponges like in outriders, theres bosses u just shoot at for minutes without any mechanics and Events on the different maps are mostly the same and pretty boring.. the World also feels soulless and empty

I was the same way, thought this was single player, but you can play it solo and it seems to have a campaign. Somewhat similar to something like Diablo or Destiny. It’s actually not too bad so far if you’re into looter shooters. And I don’t even usually play these games. May just play the campaign and drop off.
This game has been met with a good deal of criticism with how they made changes underhanded and a cash shop that is entirely too expensive. What's even more odd is how they are showing the best skins during advertising and that they cost a literal arm and a leg to get ahold of. The juice just isn't worth the squeeze. (and this is even before the bait and switch censorship they did).
I’ve played the game for two hours and already I can see how much of a “mobile game for console” It is at heart. From the micro transactions to the obviously…… aimed at young adult male demographic, it’s trying to go for. It’s not unlike something HoyoVerse would’ve worked on, but with a halo/destiny/warframe theme. I don’t think it’s a bad game because the fighting is fun but if I have to give it a rating, it would be ass out of 10
Honestly I don’t really vibe with looter shooters, I’d rather just play online pvp like Apex/R6 or story games like rdr2 but the shooting is so satisfying in this game and the missions are pretty good.
Probably running around the first area not even starting missions lol
I don't want to this game became second Warframe, in my opinion it's good that there aren't millions enemies at ones and you don't move with lightspeed
@@raven5323 that's fair, but it would also be fair to aknowledge I am not comparing it just to warframe. I am saying the game lacks challenge for the most part and that the lootgame-progression does not get a lot of moments to be felt at all.
I do not say that they should up the numbers of enemies exclusively, I am giving possible measures to handle the issue I am raising, one singular of these multiple options would me more enemies.

The First Descendant, developed by Nexon, is designed to be a large-scale, action-packed looter-shooter. Here’s a more technical breakdown of the issues and the game's scale:
### Technical Issues
1. **Bugs and Glitches**
- **Crash Reports**: Frequent crashes disrupt gameplay.
- **Graphical Artifacts**: Visual errors like texture pop-in and clipping issues.
- **AI Pathfinding**: Enemies or NPCs getting stuck or behaving erratically.
- **Mission Triggers**: Objectives not registering, causing missions to be unfinishable.
2. **Poor Optimization**
- **Frame Rate Drops**: Significant drops in FPS, especially during intense battles.
- **Long Load Times**: Extended periods to load into different areas or missions.
- **Hardware Utilization**: Inefficient use of CPU and GPU resources, leading to overheating or excessive power consumption.
3. **Pay-to-Win Mechanics**
- **Exclusive Gear**: High-tier weapons or armor only available through microtransactions.
- **Progression Boosters**: Items that accelerate leveling or resource gathering for paying players.
- **Gacha Systems**: Randomized loot boxes that encourage spending for better chances at rare items.
4. **Repetitive Gameplay**
- **Mission Design**: Lack of variety in objectives, often boiling down to fetch quests or wave defense.
- **Enemy Variety**: Limited types of enemies, leading to predictable combat encounters.
- **Endgame Content**: Insufficient activities for high-level players, causing them to grind the same content repeatedly.
5. **Lack of Content**
- **Limited Maps**: Few distinct locations, leading to reused environments.
- **Short Campaign**: A main storyline that can be completed quickly, with few side quests or expansions.
- **Event Frequency**: Infrequent updates or special events to keep players engaged.
6. **Unbalanced Gameplay**
- **Overpowered Items**: Certain weapons or abilities dominate, reducing the viability of diverse playstyles.
- **Skill Trees**: Poorly balanced skill trees that make certain builds much stronger.
- **PvP Imbalance**: Player versus player combat that heavily favors certain classes or equipment.
7. **Server Issues**
- **Latency**: High ping causing delayed actions and rubberbanding.
- **Disconnects**: Frequent server disconnects during gameplay.
- **Maintenance**: Extended or unplanned maintenance windows.
8. **Poor Customer Support**
- **Response Time**: Slow responses to player inquiries or bug reports.
- **Resolution Quality**: Inadequate solutions provided for reported issues.
- **Support Channels**: Limited ways to contact support, such as lack of live chat.
9. **Mediocre Graphics**
- **Texture Quality**: Low-resolution textures or inconsistent visual fidelity.
- **Lighting**: Poor lighting effects that don't enhance the game's atmosphere.
- **Animations**: Stiff or unpolished character animations.
10. **Unoriginal Story**
- **Plot Clichés**: Overused story tropes and predictable plot twists.
- **Character Development**: Shallow characters with minimal backstory or development.
- **World Building**: Lack of depth in the game’s universe, with few unique elements.
### Game Scale
The First Descendant aims to offer a vast in-game world with diverse environments and expansive maps. Some key aspects include:
- **Map Size**: The game features large, open-world maps with various biomes, including urban ruins, forests, and deserts.
