  • We got a new truck!
    This is from DEERC, the 9206E 1/10 RC monster truck.
    It is 4WD, brushed, oil-filled shocks, and comes with 2, 1800mah lipo batteries for $130.
    In this video, we unbox it, test it, and let you know what we think.
    Overall, the truck seems like a solid base, that could be really good with an electronics upgrade. What do you think?
    Want one yourself? You can get it here: amzn.to/2WmUiMi

    Just recieved mine today. My ole lady got it for me for Christmas. It's a good starter RC for myself. I mean...it's never a good idea to drop $300 or more for something I may not take up. Anyways..it plowed through the snow and is plenty fast enough for me to learn how to operate it. I give it a 8/10 for beginners .

    I like this vehicle, I too also have one. I do have a hobby wing brushless system waiting to go in it. I’m not gonna rush it though, as I do have other faster cars I can drive if I want to. What I’m trying to say is; that this vehicle doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. It’s pretty good all the way around. It’s just smooth and fun! Yes it’s not crazy fast, but it’s still pleasing to run. I added 40wt shock oil and it works just great! What I noticed is that it’s always pretty composed with out showing off. So until the motor or esc goes bad, I’m gonna leave it stock for a while longer. It’s just fun as it is. I just stumbled on this channel, looks like you guys are honest and fun Rc People!👍🏻👊🏼✌️so I’m subbing you! Great video and great channel😎😁💯🍻

    Just bought this for my 10yr old son for Christmas as we're both getting into RC. He absolutely loves it, but holy cow is it bouncy. So you recommend going to hobby store, getting some oil and filling them up (and watching a vid on how to do it lol).

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  3 года назад

      Unfortunately, I am not 100% sure it will actually work.
      I put oil in the shocks myself, but it seems the fitment of the piston within the shock body is so loose that it basically did nothing.
      Look around on Amazon, you can find some shocks like these: amzn.to/3nsfuvm
      They are $20, oil filled, and should be approx the right length.
      You will see that shocks are measured in length from top to bottom eyelet. I would assume the shocks on this truck would be 80-100mm. Usually, you can get away with these longer shocks (100mm) that I linked for you.

Shocks are good out of the box on redcat . I Put a brushless system in my blackout and it is crazy . Seems like for 10$ extra or so may just wanna get a redcat if you don't want to have to do a motor swap as soon as you get it. Also if it is blackout base chassis there a ton of upgrades out there for it tho ! I do like the fact it comes with 2 lipos redcat only comes with NIMH battery which as far as I can tell is the only plus side to buying this vehicle over a blackout! Nice video!

      It helps the shock work smoother - less bouncy.

      I really don't think so.
      I have already been looking at making this thing brushless, but the danged servo is an usual side which is making it very difficult.

      I certainly cant find a 3-wire servo that matches this size.

      I never did.
      The odd servo size really gave me issues.
      Instead, I used the chassis to help my son build a combat robot! No kidding!

    Another 1/12 claiming to be a 1/10 😄. I have the 9204e brushless and it's rather awesome! The screw to the arms often come loose and servo is plastic but other than that it's great. Come join us on fb facebook.com/groups/618037099120617/?ref=share don't give it away! Pxtoys is under appreciated. Please convert it to brushless, add some LEDs, and it's a keeper!

    I put a 5200mAh in it and blown the motor

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  Год назад

      5200mah is capacity. That will not impact the esc or motor life.
      If you ran it on a higher voltage battery - that would make a difference. Example - running a 3S (11V) battery instead of running a 2S (7V) battery.

    I don't like what you said about the motor. I don't want to spend $200 on something like this and I was looking really hard at this guy here because I want an RC Car that is on the big side, but is low maintenance. I'm just a casual user. Do you have any advice for me in regards to this guy or any engines to swap or other cars?

      In RC, you can have a quality truck, fast truck, cheap truck...pick 2.
      If you want it to be good quality and fast...it will not be cheap.
      If you want it to be fast and cheap...it will not be good quality.
      I would suggest you check out this truck - perhaps it fits your budget better? Yes, it is smaller than 1/10, but really is a fun truck. ruclips.net/video/RQRLvMlr0Ls/видео.html

      I do not recommend the Traxxas Rustler / Slash / Stampede. They are very bold designs that require many upgrades to really be durable.

      Otherwise, one of my personal favorites is the Arrma 3S lineup (Granite, Typhon, Senton, Vorteks). They are all great vehicles.
