The 90D takes razor-sharp photos, but, due to the sensor's pixel density, it's perhaps not as forgiving of errors in technique as a 24mp sensor camera.
The 90D just doesn’t like the older lenses. The EF 24-70mm f/2.8 (L) II is said to be one of the better lenses to use. The pancake lenses and thrifty 50 STM work better with the 90D. In one of the settings you should disable the “face-priority” autofocus. The camera is also ISO sensitive so do go too high above 6,400. I’d stay below that preferably 800. You can get sharp photos but you have to really be on top of every shot. I’ve had my 90D for a year and I’m still learning. Just picked up a 5D MK IV used from a camera shop with 100,000 shutter count. It takes razor sharp photos on that full frame. I use my 90D & C100 MKII primarily for video; 1080p @ 24 fps for both cameras. I record externally on the 90D to a Shogun Inferno to avoid the 29.59 mins limiter.
Saludos.
It’s pretty much the same, it’s high megapixel count on a full frame just accentuates the lens imperfections such as CA and Ghosting Effects when shot at 1.8 or wide open. Shooting 4.0 does eliminate softening to a greater extent
I still use the very old 450d with some lenses and think about to upgrade to the 90d or a R aps-c Cam. im still confused what choice will be the better one. Im not a content Creator and my fav Pics a nature / Landscape and portrait, sometimes macro. Movies allready not in my mind. Greetings from germany!
for photos, I can't recommend apsc. You will lose much field of view compared to full frame. Try saving up for a full frame camera EOS RP or R8. If that is out of the budget, R10 APSC is the one I recommend now
Dude, based on what you’ve said in this video, I’d run from the 90D. It can make very sharped and detailed stills and video. I agree that ML is better, but you still need good lenses. And my ML cameras don’t have reliability issues! And you are so fucking wrong about the 90D for photos. You’ve trashed a very good stills camera here for no good reason. I wonder about the huge dis-service you’ve done to your viewers. Sad.
Everyone is different. You may have a good copy. Even L lenses are known to be soft at certain production batches, they even had to recall some. Show me a video of your 90D being superior to a full frame camera, because I clearly shown you my samples 🚑🩻
@@rodricchan Dude, you repeatedly said it was soft for photography, which is false. I never shot video with the 90D because I used it for birds and macro. It is not soft - period. Softness in photos is a function of the lens, not the camera. Softness in video is more complicated and could depend not only on the lens, but how the camera gets video off the sensor. The R7 downsampled 7k sensor images to 4k, so with a sharp lens, it can make nice video. As i said, i didn’t use my 90D for video. As for your comment about every being different, dude, come on. Most copies of lenses are pretty close, so you are not going to convince anyone that you got all soft lenses over there. If so, what kind of videographer are you to allow such a thing?
@@RogerZoul I see.. You shoot birds and wildlife, that is the strength of the 90D. I did mention it in the video... Unless you are shooting birds or sports, the 90D is not for you. For your channel its all bird and wildlife, hence you would vouch for the 90D. Remember, for the works that people do, weddings, portraits, landscapes, or even commercial product photography, you will find flaws in the 90D there compared to full frame cameras. Just know that this video is geared to those people, but youre exempted from this video as you do what the 90D excels at, which is wildlife... in that case for you, 90D is great
@@rodricchan Rodric - I'm going strictly on what you said, the 90D is not sharp. You said it, I didn't. Why would a bird photographer use a camera that isn't sharp? Birds are all about sharpness as they have many many details in the feathers. You're not being honest, man, and your video is proof of that. I would not have responded otherwise and I would not frankly, recommend the 90D when one can get an R7. As for crop=sensor vs full frame, of course most doing weddings would prefer a full frame body for better background blur and bokeh, no big deal there, but those doing landscapes can use the 90D to good advantage, as well as product photography where you can control the light. Frankly, I don't think you know enough about photography to be running a channel. I'm out, dude.
Man, the 90D makes very sharp images with a sharp lens attached! Not sure now if you know what you’re talking about in this video!
Rodric wow! You have a great personality and provided tons of substance thank you 🙏🏾 - your new subscriber!
Thank YOU!

That’s true, high megapixel on a full frame barrel does create issues. The lens imperfections get amplified 1.6X on the screen

Great crop sensor camera
I love this video
Try the 50mm full-frame lens and see if it's not sharp then...

Forget about 90D, go for R10 or R7! Both R10 and R7 are up on my channel too! Cheers !!
So what apsc Canon camera do you recomended for photos?
