50mm f1.4 Z lens? How can a prime has Z designation? Z designation is for the powerzoom feature.
@@apamacam4838 you’re right , it’s not a Z it’s VCM … my mind was just summing all these series up as Z series when it’s not …
8,500 in what currency and what country? Because if it's USD it's a flat out lie. I was a rep for Canon at that time and the 6D Mark II only was retailing for 1999.99. For the enthusiast the Mark II STILL is an amazing camera for someone wanting a full frame camera at a great price, for a budget minded pro, 5D Mark IV all the way. Mirrorless are great but still overpriced.
@@tortiedude myr 8500 @ Malaysia
@@rodricchan😅 ok that makes much more sense now! I’ve been shooting on an SL3 that was given to me after the Canon promotion project but the 6d mark ii has looked mighty appealing lately with the 70-200 2.8 is iii lens
Would upgrading to Magic Lantern fix any of this camera's shortcomings? I can score one for a good price but only want to do so if this can be improved with ML. Thanks buddy.
Hi Bro, Great video Does the speed booster still work even after firmware updates? Canon obviously wasnt happy about them.
@@leelawrence3728 ya ya still works on mine
If you are a good photographer you can't get a better camera than the 6DMk2 at this time on second market, where you can find it on roundabout 500 EUR or less, with 20-30K clicks. Mirrorless cameras won't be multiple better in relation of their multiple price.Greets
@@rainerwunderlich8023 not entirely true. If the basis of a “good photographer” is used, when he gets a hold of 6D II vs a canon eos R, the difference in the yield would be far different In favor of new mirrorless. Remember, a good photographer probably has enough dignity and portfolio to own higher expensive gears to facilitate growing consumer demand. You can’t provide lacklustre photos on the basis of using an outdated poorly crippled camera. In the end, it’s your choice. Your business. Your brand. Take it seriously. Is 500 EUR what you’re investing to a “good photographer” ?
it's all about the price.
I have a Canon 6D mKII. Great camera, you can do double exposition that some Canon R cannot do anymore.... also you have the GPS that most new camera doesnt have.... and i like my photos from the 6D MKII 🙂
@@AlainLafleche1 yes that’s brilliant, 6D II is still a place in our equipment bag
Interesting video for sure thanks for making it. There really isn’t a perfect flash nor is a flash a beginner one vs advanced. What is needed is an understanding of the tool you’re purchasing. If you need a TTL on camera event flash; then pick that up. However a manual flash is often more consistent with output. Round vs square head flashes are constantly talked about; the reality is they are about the same especially when they are used with a modifier. Additionally advanced flash technologies are useful at events especially during family portraits when you may have 2 or 3 units; or in the event hall when you place a strobe behind or near the DJ area to allow for additional light when needed. For on camera speed light I’m looking for the swivel angles; an ability for the vertical head to pivot beyond 90 degrees and if possible to use a lithium ion battery;for better recycling time. TTL is nice but it’s proprietary and I have multiple cameras so it’s not as much of a priority.

The Sigma 28-105 f/2.8 is a cheap wanna be copy of the Canon RF 24-105 f/2.8. The Sigma doesn't have image stabilization, it's not internal zooming, no option for a zoom motor. Canon 24-105 f/2.8 for the win.
@@dreadnoughtphotowerkz if it works it works, photo will be excellent for that sigma but again at compromises
@rodricchan You're correct. I think most people will agree that if they could afford it, they would get the Canon over the Sigma.
@@dreadnoughtphotowerkz yup!
@rodricchan By the way, I'm not really hating on Sigma. The only non-Canon L Series lens I own, is the Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 and I bought this when Canon had nothing comparable to it. It is a beast of a lens, but I would like to have that Canon 100-300.

I am a regular photographer.. I have used tt560 and currently have 685 ttl... But I am confused should I buy ad200 pro or v1 as I do fashion photography too.. please suggest ..
hey, are you familiar with OCF techniques? you'll find ur artwork increase tremendously with AD 200 pro as you can truly battle the sun and get stunning fashion/portrait photography. V1 on the other hand is for events run and gun. Both entirely different applications as AD200 pro requires u more time to setup the shot and to position the model VS the V1 which is a run and gun fashion runway style event. Hope this help!
@@rodricchan so basically what I have understood from your reply is.... I must have both.... V1 for events, weddings, birthdays, etc... and ad200 pro for still fashion photography or still pre wedding... 😀.. i guess I am right...
@@carlton2457 yes correct
The nice thing about the V1 is that it has a complete wireless controller that can control the AD-200 up to 250 ft away. Though it is more reliable at very close distances if you said it to 150 ft range. I have a V1 pro and I'm having a hard time stopping myself from buying a AD200 for the extra power. A few things he did not mention about the AD-200 is that it comes with both a fresnel lens and a bare bulb. With the bare bulb you can get very very smooth lighting and use it very efficiently with all kind of studio accessories like umbrellas diffusers in the like. You can also get a round head for it that looks very similar to the one on the the V1 and will take the same accessories as the V1. They also have a long tube flash for it and a ring light attachment for it. Once you get into anything around the V1 and above. Almost everything they make is compatible with each other. The AD200 is very versatile and they even have a bracket that allows you to mount two of them together in one bracket to form a 400 w lamp. They also have a remote head option where you can take any of the heads and mount them on the end of a cable the other end of which is attached to the battery pack and control system. That way you can put the heavy stuff on your belt or strapped to a tripod and not have to worry about it.
Fantastic video, thank you.
Thanks for the video! 24-105mm range is very different from 28-105mm. For me, 24mm is very much needed in one-lens-does-it-all approach. Also, rf has internal zoom, and smoothest zoom ring I’ve ever experienced - it can literally be operated with one finger. For weather sealing point of view, internal zooming is something else. Professional shooting happens sometimes in bad weather, but customers are still expecting results. Heck, even personal shooting happens sometimes in bad weather. RF is bigger and more expensive though, which is a big factor obviously, but the lenses are not directly comparable.
@@alexmaccape8411 well written, not comparable yes but it’s getting close
That lens was mainly designed for video shooters, that's why it has the optional zoom motor and minor focus breathing.

Firstly what an excellent video, so informative and detailed, and yet concise. Just a thought, my recommendations would be thus: 1. If you are a serious photographer (semi professional, keen enthusiast/amateur), I would bye-pass the entry level (manual) Godox flash units and go direct for either the Godox V860iii, V1/V1 pro or AD200 Pro as they come fully loaded, are fully combatable with the Godox trigger system; and will grow with you, as your skills grow. 2. If you're a casual photographer (family holidays/events, children's school events), then yes the TT range of Godox flashguns would be more than good enough. Just my thoughts, please let me know what you think.
You hit it home man, it is correct you might want to buy the V1 and just know that you’re gonna grow into it, If you buy TT flashes you’ll only grow OUT of it !

@@rodricchan These are all things related to me and larger hand people. The R7 is extremely small. That makes vertical shots almost impossible with medium to large sized hands. Also battery life is horrible with the R7 and I hate having to keep up with the spares. nice lens! Canon are pushing forward! I personally always carry two bodies (flash on 24-70 on one body) and (12-24 f2.8 or 70-200 f2.8 on the second body). Plus a 85mm f1.8 for some mood shots. Longer reach gives you ability to shoot those candid moments. I feel the upper 105 f2.8 is still too short to capture candid moments or close up of speakers, but this depends on the event. I would always carry two bodies anyway as a backup. I think your 24-105 f2.8 with flash is probably quite a heavy setup for one body. Your lens is 1.3kg, when you add flash (0.4kg) and camera body (say 0.8kg) you're over probably 2.5kg! That's pretty heavy on one shoulder, which should be considered. Where this lens maybe ideal is tight sports , like badminton where you are located very close to the action.

@@rodricchan us in the Nikon 'camp' have that, yes, but we also have 24-70 in F2.8 flavour, as well as a 'dog' 24-120 zoom, so have some choice; but answering that question, Yes, for most people, this IS the budget option, as a DX/Fx 14/24 or equivalent, is another, but without the tele option, and is long, heavy, and has a $$$$$ price tag. It all depends on use, and how much one wants to carry; I, personally, use the 24-70 f4 and a 105 f 2.8 prime, I don't shoot sport/people though, so the time changing isn't an issue, the Quality of the image is, so mainly why I still go the prime option, with a walk around zoom for convenience sake.

Nice! I Will try this with inshot.
I think you made an error on the original pricing of 6D II. The price was around $2700 when new. You are probably thinking of dx series. The camera is great for photography and some of the mirrorless will never have ergonomics as good as some of the DSLRs. I shoot Sony A7 and is not the most comfortable camera to hold. Canon 6d just feels so good in your hand as do 5d series as well. I love all the 5d series and their color renditions, however for efficient event type of work, my A7 is much easier to manage. Again it depends what you use your cameras for.
Sony a7 series has terrible grips, I kid you not I held one with V1s and my palm had a piercing pain 😂 I’m based in Malaysia prices vary for these to yours
Ad200 Pro is around $345, and you can even find it with accessories for the same price.
I see, not in my area tho
If you wanna grow your channel, it really helps to say what currency you are using. It really helps to make it more internationally friendly so that people can convert for themselves! Just thought it would help to share my experience. I have been using the 6D mark ii since its release for photojournalism work as well as various sports and events photography on the side. I've used it in both a casual and professional setting and honestly if you know how to use the 6D mark ii well it can definitely perform in both. Firstly, just to clarify I agree that in 2024 there are better options available, but if people ever see a second hand 6D mark ii in good condition, I really urge people to give it a shot, especially so if their focus is photography and not videography. If you wanna fork out money for a brand new camera body, then i'd say invest it in a newer model. People need to understand that the 6D mark ii is a high-level enthusiast camera and not a professional camera (its even marketed as such on the canon website). Naturally so, it will lack in some areas as compared to others because the enthusiast doesn't need as much compared to a pro. I think one thing that really makes the 6D mark ii competitive as compared to other older DSLRs is the flip screen. All modern full-frame mirrorless cameras have it, but till this day, the 6D mark ii remains the only Canon full-frame DSLR with a flip screen. The 6D mark ii is also a very good starting point to start building your kit collection as well. The EF lenses are still one of the best around and can be used on some Canon film cameras (the newer SLRs like the eos630 etc) and even in Canon's mirrorless line with an adaptor. That makes it one of the most versatile lenses ever!!!! The clumped autofocus honestly was more than sufficient for me in casual projects. I think its better actually because it forces me to think more about composition. Focus and recomposing is definitely something I recommend people learn and do. In the professional setting things work differently, its definitely more fast-paced and you don't have the time to be doing all that, so thats when the clumped autofocus becomes an issue. The 6.5fps shooting speed and buffering time can be a problem, but it has never been one for me. If you can't catch your shot when by the time the camera buffer kicks in, honestly put down the camera and take the time to learn and understand what you are photographing so that you can shoot with an intention and shoot in a way that isn't intrusive to your subject. Many experienced professionals will tell you this, and I myself live by it. Yes the dynamic range is not the best. I feel that at any time beyond blue hour where I crank my ISO to around 6400, the dynamic range starts to drop off as well. Shooting around 400-800 ISO for the most part is very comfortable and it doesn't introduce an unnecessary amount of noise that I can't cope with. Overall I really do recommend the 6D mark ii if you are a high level enthusiast, or maybe even someone new to the professional industry who needs a body to start out. Specs-wise its definitely not the most comprehensive, but the limitations imo helps you really hone your skills well to transition into the professional industry. Build-wise, it is honestly still one of the best ergonomically, and its flip screen pretty much made it a future proof model. Just my 2 cents!!! Thanks for reading and hope this helps!!!!
Absolute ! What’s your camera setup now ?
Hello sir: Please help and give me some advice, The camera I am currently using is Canon EOS R10, The kit lens used with it is (RF-S18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM) My main subject matter is toy photography. The secondary shooting content is street photography or portrait photos. Now I want to buy new lenses, after watching your video, Want to be in Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM and RF85mm F2 Macro IS STM or RF 35mm 1.8 STM After making a choice, I would like to ask you to give me some advice on which lens is more suitable for me? Thank you.🙏🙏🙏
Hey James, RF 50mm 1.8 stm . Do not consider RF 85mm.. it’s too telephoto for your R10
@@rodricchan Hello sir, thank you very much for your reply and suggestions🫡❤️🫰
@@james0706g all the best bro 👊
Quick note: RF lenses that are L lenses (red rings) are always made in Japan. any non-L lens is likely going to be made elsewhere (I think there are a few exceptions like the 200-800)
Ahh thanks for that !
