I wish the R8 used the LPEN6NH battery. I would have bought that up as a companion cam to my R7 with a streamlined battery situation. And half of my lens lineup is full frame EF. The old version 2 of the 70-200 f2.8L produced some fantastic results for me on my R7.
@rodricchan My first time taking the EF 70-200 out was to my daughter's last dance recital. And...well, have a look ruclips.net/video/1N-4wvtwnfU/видео.htmlsi=3QN7hNTTWSxDx7D1
Thanks for your video! I've been considering selling my R7 as I have an R6M2 and an R8. The R7 has little strengths that are increasingly making me want to keep it around. Especially the 4K fine at 30fps. That is making it my A cam for certain talking head videos. I feel like that footage is just beautiful. As you pointed out, it is also very tough I feel. If I need to shoot in less than favorable conditions, I feel like the R7 will be my war-horse.
Thanks man, this video took me awhile to get out and I’m glad it did its purpose That’s the thing, Canon engineering and marketing team got together and gave us life-tearing choices on both R7 and R8 or even R6II to choose from. To each bodies have their own strength and weaknesses. R7 is a solid camera really, I pair it up with R8 and I’m about as you are. Genuinely satisfied 😊
imo the smarter decision would be r6ii and r7 or r6ii and r10, or r5 and r7. the full frame should have the most capabilities, and the apsc should be supplementary. r8 is for people who would only use it. and its a great camera for the specs. i would recommend r8 over r7 for a beginner. best image quality at that price.
@@troyflatland5299 you clearly lack understanding skills. read my comment again. im suggesting if youre buying two cameras, the full frame should have the maximum capabilities and the apsc should be suplementary. the apsc shouldnt have the ibis and dual sd and mechanical whilst your full frame lacks it. also the r6ii has no overheating in 4k24 / 30p, the r8 overheats quick. and the r7 may overheats in the sun 4kfine.
R7 used right now is a steal. Firmware updates have addressed all the critical issues. Unfortunately the lack of a battery grip has kept it off my list.
@@rodricchan These are all things related to me and larger hand people. The R7 is extremely small. That makes vertical shots almost impossible with medium to large sized hands. Also battery life is horrible with the R7 and I hate having to keep up with the spares. The grips usually hold 2 batteries which is great for me and the weight of the batteries balances out the camera's nicely.
Thanks for your review. I have a R8 but I’m seriously considering adding the R7 to my setup and this video clarified some of my questions.
Glad I could help!

@@HeadlessChickenTO you reckon it does for photo ? R7 for me is terrible in photo no matter what lens I slap on it that is EF . RF is decently ok

I have both r7 r8 and have battery grip for both… love these together
I’ve never came acrosss R7 battery grip, you have a photo of it ?
we really need to see what you are using for the battery grip on the R7. that is the reason I have not picked up the R7 already.
Great thorough review well done
Thanks man, will do more
Great comparison!
Thank you brother
Hi Rod, very informative video, thank you. BTW, where do you purchase your cameras and any recommendation where to buy Canon gears? Cheers
Hey, ACCE, Altech, KLDSLR..
I love my r8 only did I hate is the battery life but I just ordered a grip
Nice
R8 or R6 mark I? Only for photo....
@@ksychu87 R6 my friend, If you happen to own an R8 you’ll know that it’s rather weird on missing an actual shutter curtain. It’s just wrong haha
i own r8..planning to get my B cam..last time i own rp but the video is a bit crap..is the clog3 is the same as r8?
Hey bro, clog3 is absolutely the same across all camera models
Very fine analysis. Thanks for sharing. / Per Christensen. Denmark

Buy the R6 mk ii and have one camera that does it all...
Correct, it came out along R8 so yeah I’d thought I’d save some money instead of R6 II to go R8..

Yeah, you hit it home. R6II is up there
R6ii is 99% the same as the R8 but the R8 is $1000 less wtf are you talking about lmfao 🤡
@@troyflatland5299 there’s some distinct difference, probably he can afford an R6II 😂
