bro i was 100% sure you're a very big youtuber but seeing u only got 400 subs blowed my mind, so underrated! great video btw because I'm looking to buy my first camera and the r7 is one of my options so you helped me.
ONLY 334 SUBS? Subbing for sure. I'm a Fuji shooter and i'm looking to get another cam since mines breaking down currently and the used market for the lower end Fujis is ridiculous. Might have been convinced to jump back into Canon. off this video. Amazing breakdown of the camera and great footage. Thanks for the videos man and I cant wait to see more from you.
So would that make the R10 suitable for steps one and two? Also, with an R10 Mk 2 being rumoured I am assuming that the R7 will get a rev as well. I am holding off until this gets some clarity.
In a way, yes, that would make the R10 suitable strictly for steps 1 and 2! Hmm, considering how long Canon took to release the canon r5 mk 2 and canon r1, it may be a while before releasing any new cameras. They may just want those cameras to saturate a little bit, but despite that a Canon R7 and R10 mk 2 would be something to be on the lookout for!
Here is you reply lol. I used the Canon R7 for all of the main footage. The B-roll that was shot with the R7 has text that reads "Footage via Canon R7"
Using the electronic shutter on the R7, I believe the readout speed is around 29.2 ms. With that being said, it is possible to get some weird warping and distortion when dealing with fast moving objects. So just uhhh keep that shutter speed on point as much as you can, haha!
Owned the R7 for two years and I managed to overcome all issues specially the AF “inconsistencies”. I traded in for an R6 and oh boy, that’s when I really realized how bad is the AF in the R7. The other issue I had was the ISO performance which to me is one of the worst I have ever seen and I have owned cameras from Sony, Nikon and Canon. If you can live with those issues, congratulations, you got your beast.
lol the things you are saying are not false, I learned about these things with more time with the camera. Despite those things, I still don't hate it though🤔
@@micahdavidco I do not hate it but I do not believe it's a BEAST anymore. It's a good camera but I would not use it or recommend it for professional use.
Yooo I also have an R7 with the sigma 18-35 F1.8. Just shot a music video on it, grading the CLog in davinci was super nice and dynamic range was surprisingly great. Honestly never had a problem with overheating even shooting 4k fine 24p in 95° for hours. Super great video!
How’s the rolling shutter for you? I shoot mainly video and the rolling shutter is pretty bad. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m using all manual lenses. Have you had this experience?
I haven’t personally encountered problems with any distortion or warping that I can recall. I have seen the rolling shutter effect though and it looks like a real footage killer. If I had to give some sort of solution, I would maybe say try stabilizing the footage as much as you can or raise the shutter speed. Ik it’s not much at all but I still hope I helped in some way, thanks so much for the comment!
When The R7 was released I was eyeing Fuji Xt4 and didn't care much about the R7. fast forward I was checking for something on my budget that I can rely on professionally. I ended up buying the R7 I don't regret at all. it is a very under rated camera
Its honestly preference, both can be well for vlogging. Do you want to be able to zoom in a little or not, do you really need f2.8 when it comes to vlogging? Although when it comes to pictures maybe the 10-18mm maybe a bit better, if we’re already dealing with a wide angle lens, chances are you maybe taking landscapes, so why use anything less than f4. Thanks for the comment, I hope this helped!
Hey man, was wondering if you had any overheating issues in 4k 60fps (not fine). I’m debating getting the R7 to help solve my overheating issues with the R6
I haven’t spent too much time using 4K60 to the point where it’s overheating. Although, I have seen that since it’s not 4K Fine, you will have some more time but eventually it will overheat of course. I recommend maybe trying out the camera fan that I mentioned in the video by Ulanzi, that should buy you more time! Thanks for the comment, hope this helped!

Sure! Comparing the R7 to the R10, supporting reasons for why I got the R7 was because I liked how it had dual SD card slots (saved me because I can back up my stuff as I shoot), 32 effective megapixels (Retains a lot of information when it comes to zooming in, cropping, and is more than enough for printing), and its ability to capture C-Log along with 10 bit (This allows me to step into my creative side with color). I had been shooting an R8 and R6 Mii for over a year when I bought an R7 because I needed a crop sensor. I was so disappointed in its performance that it went back immediately. Sold the r8 and now down to 1 body for time being. Now I can’t decide if I want to wait for R6 Miii, R7 Mii or go ahead just pick up another beast, the R6 Mii. I still think the R6 Mii is the best hybrid out there for the value. Great channel and great quality content. Just subscribed. Trying to build my channel and it’s slow going 😂.

@@tomd4748 I’ve heard people refer to the R6ii as a “prosummer” camera. I definitely understand that because I know several soccer/softball moms who bought the R6ii with a 100-500 because Joe at the camera store told them that’s what they needed. Regarding the R8 & R6ii, the reason why people compare those two cameras is, I’m sure you know this, they have the exact same AF and sensor. Tons of other differences that separate them but the inner workings are the same besides ibis. I also know plenty of professionals who use an R8 as a back up or b-roll. I bought another R6 Mii last week anyways and just made a short video about it. I’ll eventually own another R8 though. Great camera, although different from the R6ii.
