Loved this video. SO WELL DONE. Just as a clarification for those of you that don't own the camera; at 3:33 he mentions that full sensor 4k DCI is possible but on the menu if you choose 4k dci you'll notice that the menu will change to "Sensor Windowed" and that it drops down to 5.7k in the "Sensor area" on the second page. Selecting 3840x2160 gives you the full sensor and no windowed sensor. I know I sound like an ass, but codecs, resolutions and crop factors can be so damn confusing. This camera f*cks and I love it more and more everyday.
You are absolutely right man. This is my mistake, and I meant to say UHD, not DCI. It's a lot.. So yes. Anyone that reads this, UHD = no crop on 4k, DCI = Crop on 4k! I wish YT brings back small annotations :-)
We had two Ursa Mini's, two Sony AS7's, and 1 previous gen Pocket 6K. As soon as Blackmagic announced the 6K Pro, we order two of them, kept the previous gen 6K and sold everything else. So now we're exclusively Blackmagic Users and only shoot on Pocket Cameras. Those couple quality of life improvements were totally worth it.
Getting more and more inspired as the time goes! I'm watching all your 6K PRO videos. Can't wait to order mines and start doing more YouTUbe Videos. I have enough for the 4K but why not save the extra cash and get the 6K Pro! Looks amazing. Solid video Sjoerd!

Freddy, welcome! Thanks for checking out my channel, I really do appreciate it! Good plan to up your zoom game! The pocket is a lovely system for that purpose because it's so easy to use... I would however go for the 16-35 (or Sigma 18-35). The camera has a Super35 sensor, meaning you need to multiply the focal length by 1.5x. So a 24mm becomes a 36 which is not really ideal for such a short distance. Having a short zoom, you are able to frame the shot more easily!
Nice one, everybody is addressing the 2 mini xlr but nobody is showing a test on it, in the pocket 4k you have to really use 50/70 gain on phanton mode to get a decent signal and sometimes is not enough. If you are running two mics at the same time using phantom power this camera is able to handle or will you need an extra external recorder? Also how long runs the battery using all of this at the same time. That video will be really helpful, thanks

Also, when using 2 xlrs on phantom power, I would highly recommend a Vmount solution, since this will drastically increase power consumption. This also, is added to the video-make-list-to-do-soon ;-)
How is the AUTO-FOCUS?Can you Touch-focus like the Sony A7S III or is it the same as the Pocket 6K (you have to touch-press for 2-3 seconds to get focus)?

@@SjoerdWess I jumped from Canon to Sony over the years to finally shooting for the last year on the Pocket 6K and have loved it. The pros majorly outweigh the cons in my opinion. Some of the features on the Pro definitely look appealing to speed up your workflow, but I've invested a lot in my current rig already, like you said.

I have the original 2.5k and I was filming working on a personal film with lightning and I noticed with very bright filming I saw my back shirt looked brown all that being said I still love my camera but to know the 6k pro solve this issue is Golden
Hey man! The pocket definitely fixed this without using the ND's, however, on ND6 a bit of infrared contamination is leaking into the image. A simple filter does wonders.

I kind of agree with Steven here. I use the 4k since release date, and shot in Proress once, because the client wanted it. The compression, quality, flexibility is amazing. Let alone, Proress 6K would be like 400 mbps.. haha

Qazi, you’re so right. I used the p4k ever since it came out and still today, the camera is unbeatable for the price. I even managed to fool some people for using an Arri Alexa. Can you image? 1200 cam that had the potential to look similiarly like an 80k cam... poah

Dope ND test! Would've liked to have seen more IR pollution testing after seeing CVP found there was still IR pollution through the internal ND's. Great review overall, however. What camera shot the b-roll toward the beginning in the field? Nice shots!
Personally, I dont worry about IR polution. Not a soul will ever say when watching the final cut (graded and all), ‘oh shit, too much IR polution..’. Im okay with the pocket 4k even. Panasonic S1 is the intro cam!
Nice review! How does your built-in screen look? Any issues with regards to the color accuracy? Mine definitely has the blue/greenish cast that a lot of people seem to have problems with....
Tijmen, The first week of intense testing, I haven't really noticed a thing. Until I had it side by side with my pocket 4k. Not a big issue for me though. But I contacted BMD to check if this is fixable with firmware. Ill keep you posted!
@@SjoerdWess they seem to be a bit vague about it. "Should be able to address this via a software update." Hope they will get things sorted out quickly. It's way off compared to the screen of my Shinobi. Luckily white balance is correctable with raw :)

Those Internal ND are not IR as real one we can buy on IR cut filter like Nisi or else. They seem to be to weak to catch the IR as you can see red ln the shadows from what I saw and read. What’s your opinion about that ? I just bought a Nisi IRcut Nd6stop for outside shoot to compare. Will see if there is much a difference

Oh well. Honestly I never like to use prores if BRAW is an option. Raw is so much better and smaller in most compressed options

What laptop, computer, is recommended to deal with huge video files?
One with fair bit of storage and a good GPU. I have a maxed out 16”, but a solid Nvida Gforce windows will work as well. I just prefer mac!

@@SjoerdWess they seem to be a bit vague about it. "Should be able to address this via a software update." Hope they will get things sorted out quickly. It's way off compared to the screen of my Shinobi. Luckily white balance is correctable with raw :)

Those Internal ND are not IR as real one we can buy on IR cut filter like Nisi or else. They seem to be to weak to catch the IR as you can see red ln the shadows from what I saw and read. What’s your opinion about that ?
I just bought a Nisi IRcut Nd6stop for outside shoot to compare. Will see if there is much a difference
According to Blackmagic, they are IR ND’s. However, I had some IR issues in reaaaally hard sunlight. So that ND6 might be a good purchase man!
