- Mark Skaife's amazing pole winning lap in the top 10 shootout for the 1991 Tooheys 1000.
Despite this been Mark's first top 10 shootout attempt, the first of many in his long career, he put on superb show breaking the lap record previously set by George Fury by just over second with a 2:12.63, a truly amazing achievement considering the chase added roughly 5-6 seconds a lap compared to when Fury set his blistering time in 1984.

The greatest group a car in history developed by a fantastic team and two of the best drivers the sport has seen. Watch this lap every now and again and it never gets old! Awesome memories!
One of the fastest group A touring cars EVER!
The way it comes out the first corner unbelievable bang! Never gets old!
What a weapon of a car at that time. Remember watching this as a kid loving the "Godzilla's" taking on the mountain. Good times
mustve been a dream to drive
Listen to the straight six turbo roar!
Still amazing that in the early 90's you could walk into a Nissan dealership and buy a GTR for $110k and later $100k as a ''run-out'' I still see an AUD model regularly parked outside a business near a mates place! Easy to pick with their orange indicator inserts on the taillight lenses and roof mounted radio antennas.
$110 K in 1991 was a lot of coin
It was still a lot of coin in today's money and during the recession we had to have as well
"THE" ....MOUNTAIN KILLER
I love the response "no I think that's about as fast as we can go"

To do a 12 in 1991 shows how advanced and well developed that car was for its day.
That’s like a 2m 07; before the chase……..
