Track length: 6.213 m
Distance: 1000 km

Race Time: 6:19:14.80
1991 was the first ever all-Nissan front row at Bathurst. It was also Nissan's third Bathurst pole position after George Fury claimed pole in 1984 in the Bluebird turbo, and Gary Scott had done so in 1986 in the Skyline DR30 RS turbo. With three GT-R's, Nissan also had its best ever representation in the runoff, breaking the record of two set in 1982 and 1986.
* 1991 was the only time between 1988 and 1992 that a Ford Sierra RS500 did not qualify on the pole. Glenn Seton in the fastest Sierra was over 2 seconds slower than Skaife and one second slower than the GT-R of second placed Mark Gibbs. His time was also 0.952 slower than Klaus Niedzwiedz's 1990 pole time in a Sierra.
* Peter Brock made his first appearance driving a Holden in the runoff since the first Group A race in 1985. Brock qualified his Holden VN Commodore SS Group A SV in 6th place. Compared to Skaife's speed on Conrod Straight in the twin-turbo GT-R, Brock's naturally aspirated V8 Commodore recorded 278 km/h (173 mph), though this was a substantial improvement as the older model Holden VL Commodore SS Group A SV usually topped out at around 270 km/h (168 mph) unless aided by a tow from another car. Despite this the VN Commodores were in fact almost 1.5 seconds slower than the VL model had been in 1990.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING for the 4 cylinder Sierras to be racing with the 6 cylinder GTR's and V8 Commodores!!!
the actual number of cylinders has very little to do with an engine's power, size is what matters, although the turbos change the equation.
When touring cars were proper cars.
The race where a legend was made.
The Commodores max on conrod was 273. The Sierra , about 290 and the GTR 293 was clocked the fastest..
Also the VN HSV Group A was not homologated because they only sold 302 cars of the required 500 .of course CAMS let the Holden’s race despite not being homologated, just like when the 12 hour Monaro 7 litre cars , none were built.
32速っ!
流石RB26!
Were these the RWD or 4WD Sierras??
RWD.
The 2nd last year of REAL ATCC Racing
Ol Raymond was having his Bromance with Brock and Holden and was speechless when Seton's Sierra blew Brock's v8 away
Here comes the... commodore...rear wheel drive.... and everything in it's favor... that's engineering
Compared to this, and the 20 years previous, Bathurst now is shit.
I remember the shocked crowd on the starting straight on the track while standing in the thick of it
Your all a pack of assholes 😂
You were a Legend jim
Everyone yelling bullshit bullshit because a Japanese car won 😊
I was only 16 😅
I even got to go the drivers dance the night before
And I was no one
Still am no one
but hey I was there 😂
Mark someone was with him 😂 lol yes that mark
This was the BBC edit
There was a big lady with the flags she put out a green flag on hells corner and a marshal
On a no passing lap came and told her off yelling at her
She was so flustered she sat down toppled over and fell in a flood channel hole upside down there was someone stuck in pit lane the crowd was yelling let him out let him out
When she fell in the hole some one yelled fill it in
fill it in 😂the entire crowd on that hill was laughing
Poor lady 😮😊😂 she was just doing her best 😅
Things we remember 😊
Like.... the Tesla went flat down conrod over the mountain
And..
Hitting the green button made me pass.brock
Neil Crompton is a legend and Glenn Seaton
The tail end of the golden age. Now all we get are a couple of V8s
Setons move at 9:09 was boss.
Full disclosure. Mark Fucking Skaife owns this RUclips channel
😅😅😅
I thought it was Dean Fucking Canto…😂
Me in 1984 trying to inform a V8 nut that V8s time will soon be over, only had to wait 6years
Brock was awsome, he dominated when he had the best cars, then he challenged when they were better ❤
BOOST! @12:07
Lol holden are so shit
If Holden had imported and homologated the Lotus Carlton things might have been quite different.
@@SPQRTempus indeed
They really pushed the v8 propaganda hard. Shame for us in the end.
The skaife ❤
In 2024, I can only wonder what the hell was going through the minds of the race organizers when they allowed the great Nissan Godzilla GT-R to race against Holdens and Fords😂
I almost feel bad…
When you take away the Nissans RB26TT straight six cylinder turbo, your still fighting an uphill battle when the Godzillas running AWD😂
WTF were they thinking!
they were thinking "Japanese - can't possibly win!"
think you're understating the development work done by Gibson here on the GTR. It wasn't an overnight success. Really impressive work though
@@jsleeio wasn’t taking nothing away from Gibson, they did a fanatastic job working with what Nissan gave them
The races in early 90s were some of the best. Was lucky enough to be there in 92
You too? My mates Datsun was turned on its roof and set on fire after the Skyline win.🤣
@@kallekas8551 oh no. Yeah the V8 crowd wasn't happy for sure
@@Dickusification Either way I think Group A was awesome….
@@kallekas8551really? Wow, such a shame. At the same time, it sounds like something I would have loved as a teen or in my early 20s. I’m only 33 so by the time I was old enough to go to Bathurst, all those crazy shananigans were over.
@@deevizm8035 We expected the Skyline to win so he took his $400 Datsun 200B and left his 240Z at home…we went back to Sydney in my HK Monaro. In an interesting twist I myself became a Skyline fan after that partly because of the pathetic tribalism the GM and Ford fans demonstrated in their actions.🤣
16:13,,Crompo you ledge:)..cool as a cucumber ,not worn out like one in a convent:P
Peak Bathurst, raw & ready.
