I dont ride anything lower than 35mm rise . I got 35mm on my enduro, 50mm on my fatbike and 75mm on my dj . Me its more for my neck, it gets really sore from looking up for hours on end .
Why don't those people just mind their own business and leave other people in peace? Space enough for everybody. So sad and more and more about these days.
All my mtn bikes have raised bars. It takes the pressure off my hands and shoulders at 65, and makes the front tire light for climbing tech trails. I have a 60, a 90, and a 100.. I also shortened the stem to 35mm.

High rise bars are cool. I recommend you also try bars with bigger backsweep angle. The Spank is 8.5deg. Try something like 10-11deg. Doesn't sounds like much, but can make a huge difference on wrist strain.
Most people never measure their own personal backsweep. Do you know how to do this? Mine is 9 degrees. So any bar lower or higher than that doesn't feel right
Shorter (740mm) riser bars with a nice backsweep (10 degree) saved my wrists and lower back. I used to have to ice my left wrist at times after a long ride and now I have zero pain. The Ergon GA2 fat grips also eliminated all hand pain.

What I went with was the Super Bubba Hayes hub. It’s a dual pawl system that can be repositioned to use 6 pawls staggered or all 6 engaged at the same time. Not the best if I'm honest, but really who cares once you're riding and if it'll help my back it's all worth it. And as for that lady, she probably had a bad experience with a d-bag rider and now she acts like that with everyone that normally would be kind and courteous, but her response is only going get a rude response back. You definitely handled it better than many would I think.
Thanks, yeah I didn’t like the look of the bars either but they’re definitely helping me and feel good on the long rides. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤙🏻
Don't know if I missed it, but what company make those bars ?

Sweet thx 🫡🤙🏾
Nice I got some high rise bars on the way at the moment, looking to alleviate lower back pain and palm pain.
It worked for me! Enjoy, and Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
@@SimplePleasuresMTB it was good to get some real world insight. Cheers
I am a tall rider and wanted a better position riding downhill. I like my high rise bars👍
@@dannybarrera7637 yeah I love the position and stability, it feels like you’re “in the bike” vs “on top of the bike”

What dimensions /size are these bars? For someone over 6ft are these right size;.
Spank Spoon 60mm rise. They are very comfortable yet aggressive. I got them due to lower back pain and they got rid of it. I’m 6’ 1” and I love these bars.

@@SimplePleasuresMTB Hey there, Thanks for the link! Great demonstration video too, you looked like you wqere having a ball! Now I'm just wondering if I should go wider from 720 flats right now up to 760 to 780. I guess i was too narrow to begin with? I do mostly street riding with some gravel here n there. But yea these look like they'll work. I'm also looking at some Amazon ones too.
@@roamlikekane I prefer the wide, feels more stable at higher speeds and more control
Have you found a carbon bar with a similar rise?
No, I really haven’t looked though to be honest, I’m sure they’re out there. Thank you for watching
@@SimplePleasuresMTB Just picked up a Diety OS-35 Highside 80mm (!) Rise Bar. No carbon option that I can see, so I'm back to aluminum. Haven't hit the trail yet, but my body position is so much better pedaling around the neighborhood.
@@dylanmbullock I think you'll love it. I was concerned that I would lose some sense of aggressiveness but honestly it feels like you have more control.🤙🏻
She was lovely, anyway great video!
hi sir
how much and where can i buy that handlebar?
This is where I bought mine. It’s a 60 rise, 780mm wide, for use with 31.8 stem.

that off camber section of oso can be sketchy. it's not only off camber, it's really loose. you should climb up to friends on rice cyn then go up Willis cyn to oso ridge. more downhill that way. I don't ride e bike so that way is less climbing, more bombing. I love vrp, it's one of my favorite places to ride in ventura.
Nice bars. You could have yelled back at the 'Karen' with the dog that in public open spaces, dogs are supposed to be leashed. Anyway, I have the same display on my Luna X1 and I also ride with polarized glasses. I've found that if you turn the bars (and display) 90 degrees, you can read the screen.
I thought about the “no leash” thing also, but her dog was cool so…😂
At 10:32 you say the rise is 60mm or 4 inches but 60mm is 2.3 inches. Cool video, looks fun
Yep..2.362” good catch! Thanks for watching. I must have just been excited and exaggerating 😂
As I've gotten older, it's better for me with a higher bars. My back and hands don't hurt so much anymore. I am 66 Y.O
@@arnehusby1420 Heck yeah man! I’m approaching 52 and feel better than ever! Gotta keep moving! Thanks for watching. The Riser bars are a game changer!
Nice bars! Didnt see any signs either.
Thanks
60 mm is not 4” it’s 2.36”
Yeah I realized that after I put out the video…thanks. I’m not hip to the metric system 😉
What’s the rise on the bar?
This one is 60mm
If the trails are closed???? What is she doing out there on them????
Right? She acted like she owned the river bottom. Some people…
classic Karren interaction. lol
LMAO. Great Vid.🤣
Stem?
DMR DEFY love it
Actually they look quite cool !
Yeah, they’re not bad. I like em now that I’ve used them awhile
@@SimplePleasuresMTB I amm looking to get them as well . I feel lower back pain with my rise 20 bars so hopefully these will solve the problem. Your videos have helped me to decide. Thank you!
@@jiri-novotny-active you’re very welcome. It honestly helped me 100%. And they are affordable, $42. A friend of mine that’s 6’ 4” recommend them to me, he too had back issues and he said the risers helped him. Thank you for watching 🤙🏻
Have to sub just because of that damn Karen.
😂 I appreciate it👍🏻
That angry Karen was just looking for someone to try and ruin their day. Probably hates her life in general and was jealous that you were having a good day riding.
Yeah she looked pretty miserable 😫
Horse Karens are the worst!!
"what if i was on a horse?" Are horses allowed to be on closed trails? I love people who think they have the right to tell other people what to do. Mind your damn business! 😂😂😂
I know…this lady was a salty one😂
What if I was on my horse? Well, I guess I would have said hi to two old nags.
😂that’s Great! Thanks for the comment 👍🏻
26:43 KAREN
From Hell😂
Why isnt her dog on a leash ?
Her dog was cool, she was the “bitch” 😉she needed a leash
@@SimplePleasuresMTB and a Muzzle.
0:19 Karen in the wild
60mm = 2.36"
Thanks, I’m an American so😁
Yeah lighter weight are for real enduro riders and DH riders who want an electric for quicker climb with minimal weight and power.
It’s a bit much @(80lbs) I’d like something around 55lbs next. The Luna X2 with the M600 has plenty of power and range, comes in carbon, and fixed up they can be very nice and capable
What a Karen!!! Sorry to disturb your bonding moment with your dog, Karen
I could’ve said “where’s your dogs leash?” but the dog was cool😉
@@SimplePleasuresMTB subscribed for the Karen’s. I’m not even a hardcore MTBer lol
@@Nick_Logan Thank You I really appreciate it👍🏻I’ll try to find more “Karen’s”. I know they’re out there😎
I don't stop for people on the trail, zoom around them and miss their stupid comments.
You should be in control of your horse
Giddy Up! 😉Thanks for watching and commenting 🤙🏻
This bar attract Karens. Hard pass.
