That is kind of an obvious observation anyway, allthough I had never heard of that before. At the end of the day they are similar ages artistically anyway. One thing that is rather obvious, especialy after you read Dickinson's confession, is he was influenced by Ian Gillan, in fact the fact that he tried to immitate him even...
@@sean7735 nah Dio influenced them he used to do classical then went to rock and could do any real genre he wanted but stuck to Rock and Metal, had the most succesful career of any rock or metal singer in history, all bands he was in made more koney produced better songs when he was with them and was the Godfather of classic rock classic heavy metal, and a King or god of them in many ways

DIO was the greatest metal performer EVER live. He is missed by many. July 10, 1942-May 16, 2010
Truth in Theory the same day is my dads birthday.
Wow! I hear ya @@elimarsilvanikock7818
I loved this man's voice ever since I got into hard rock when I was 15. The 'Never, never, never...' part always makes the hairs on the my neck stand up. This performance on this song is one of my all-time favourites, he had a voice like thunder but could sound like an angels wings when he wanted to, miss him. Thanks for this man. Greetings from the UK bro!
dude I was at this very concert in 84!! it was amazing!
I was too!
Me too. Awesome concert, and the dragon was unbelievable!
You guys are so lucky
Me too! one more off my bucket list. Saw Maiden same year.
Damn you guys are soooo lucky!!
I appreciate you for recognizing the whole package, lyrically and vocally he was unmatched!!
Preston!! You finally got to this song!! I'm proud of you!! You're in the circle of "ROCK" trust!!
Best concert I have ever seen. Motorhead. Dio and Iron Maiden. Glad you liked Preston. Subbed and big fan of your vids. Keep up the great content.
This might be the best goddamn reaction you've done
One thing I want to point out about the guitarist, Mr. Vivian Campbell. Since 1992 he has been the Rhythm Guitarist for Def Leppard. Dude is awesome and his work with Dio is unparalleled. I saw this tour live and it was EPIC.
My first concert when I was 14 was Dio with Megadeth opening up. It was epic.
The world misses Dio dearly.
Saw that same show in Arizona
in 1984 {before the internet}...this was the the best form of entertainment we had back then...so awesome live and many great memories of going to many live concerts ...
Rainbow / Ronnie - man on a silver mountain
Plssss
I've been binge watching your metal/rock/grunge reactions and it is great to see these songs that I have enjoyed for years with someone with fresh ears and eyes experienced for the first time. Keep it up.
Damn, I loved the Metal from the 80's... There are so few bands that have the energy of the 80's Metal..
I fucking love your reactions Brah! Great to see your enthusiasm and passion about Maiden/Priest/Dio/AC/DC. I grew up with these guys and watching you reminds me of the first time I'd hear songs like these. Dope! Keep up the good work!
The preview was bad ass bro!!!! Keep up the kickass reaction videos.you are truly the Fucking best at it.thanks dude.
Love it brother Preston!!!! I always told ya Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford, and Bruce were the big three of Metal!! I am so happy each and every video to see you really enjoy what you are doing. This music is very special, and you see that and love it. Keep The Faith brother!!
Mr. Dio didnt play sonnn
Last in line is my favorite too . Dude was only like 5ft 2. But sang like he was 8 ft.
Ronnie sang to the fans all the way at the back. Chris Cornell told a story about meeting him and he said, "It's not about the size of your pencil, but how big you can write your name."
I saw DIO in 1984 and out of ALL THE BANDS I’ve ever seen, his concert was like going to a church service because when it was over I felt amazingly happy and charged! Keep up the classic reactions they are the best ones on RUclips!!! PEACE!!!!!
My brother and I were at that actual concert in Philly! Seen DIO many times and he never disappointed. RIP Dio, RIP Philadelphia Spectrum. I miss that venue. I saw Maiden, Priest, Dio, Metallica, Megadeth, Twisted Sister, WASP and many others there.
Oh wow, its not there anymore?
Cody Hanna Nope. They tore it down about 5 years ago. Right before they did the public was able to come in and take a peice of it. A chair, a sign, whatever. I wasn’t able to get there that day, but a buddy of mine grabbed a chair. Pretty cool. The Spectrum was THE place to go for big concerts in the Philly area
Saw many Flyers games at the Spectrum ♡♡♡
Thanks so much for this, great reaction. I remember seeing him back in1984 like it was yesterday. What an awesome show and a truly great singer.
There were so many good shows in the 80s! I'm glad I got to see them live. Go see as many as you can now before (like dio, cornell, staley etc etc) they are gone.
There's not too many left now.
Oh, man, seeing you react to metal songs is a real treat. You're like a child discovering treasure for the first time, it's really beautiful to watch! Your reactions are priceless! So happy to see you loving all my favourite artists, Priest, Nightwish, Dio, Maiden etc. Keep on going with this, bro! Really enjoy your channel!
Dio influenced Dickinson and Halford and all of them bro.
Stated by them personally.
They were friends with each other as well.
@@guslakis yup
That is kind of an obvious observation anyway, allthough I had never heard of that before. At the end of the day they are similar ages artistically anyway. One thing that is rather obvious, especialy after you read Dickinson's confession, is he was influenced by Ian Gillan, in fact the fact that he tried to immitate him even...
Pretty sure they all influenced each other. Halford was 1st
Dude... thanks for putting Dio back into my rotation. It's been far too long! \m/
One of Dio's greatest songs imo, and a stupendous performance here!
I love your facial expressions and how much u appreciate his music and lyrics. Cool to watch thank u
Dio was the greatest rock vocalist. Rock in peace, Ronnie!
I'm so glad you finally got to this tune. The one and only time I seen Dio live was Ozzfest 99. I got there just in time to hear this song (the last song of his set). Thank you.
I saw him perform at the Sanger Theater in New Orleans. Truly an amazing performer.
THX again ur Highness, I so much do love your reactions, and everytime i think you reached a peak- then you Mofu come around and take it to an even higher Level! But keep on kicking me- and all of your fans- into the teeth. I´am allready beeing a pain in the arse of all my friends and family by showing your videos all the time. Keep on rocking King! By the way: STARGAZER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the 80's were the BEST
This is still one of my favorite reaction videos of all time. Every time you listen to Dio and react, an angel gets its wings. LOVE it!
That is the very best reaction to a legend that is Dio
Great reaction! Love it man!
Time for Rainbow Stargazer.......,..
I love that you watch and listen to live shit as well as studio recordings cuz you get the real experience that way. Your the shit bro
The never never never never never part isn't on the studio version and he didn't even miss to change tone when he did it. Rainbow - Stargazer with Dio singing is probably the ultimate Dio song or it's time for some Metallica Seattle 89, try Battery since you did the studio version and it's EVEN more intense when they did it live!
Tjocksnorris äventyr yeah no lie fade to black Seattle ‘89 Kirk fucking melts the solo!
@@curtiswoodard6195 EVERY song from Seattle 89 is crazy good! Should experience every song from that concert!
Stargazer isn't even on the radar in terms of "best" Dio songs.
Yeah, when he did that "never never never. . ." part that night, everyone went crazy. It was great.
stargazer? lol no, this tune with the band he has here blows away anything from richie blackmore. drums, guitar work, the energy and intensity defines heavy metal. blackmore tunes don't define heavy metal or even remotely match dio with this lineup.
I love this reaction. You lost your mind, it was awesome.
That was the first million dollar stage show. And it was wild! ☮️
I thought Ozzy was first, during the RHOADS ERA when they had the huge castle on stage???
@@monicajean37 you may be right. it's possible but I remember this tour and them promoting it as the first million dollar stage show. I don't believe Ozzy had all the lazers and lights as this tour did. ☮️
@@johnduval8891 at the time they were the only 2 bands back then besides KISS that had large production, wait oh my gosh I could go on forever Iron Maiden had a great production set up with EDDIE ETC.. wonder how much it cost to build Eddie? last time I saw Maiden was summer of 2017, they brought ALL OF THERE EDDIES it was such a killer show LOL
@@johnduval8891 i WISH people who didn't grow up in the 60's, 70's and 80's could understand the musical genius's we got too witness, we were the last generation to not grow up with technology, we were free, truly free... with 1000's of songs to listen too, by real artist.....
@@monicajean37 Eddie is very cool. First time I saw Maiden was as a back up band for Judas priest. Eddie blew our minds because no one knew about him yet.. And the concert was awesome! ☮️
Dude in really exited to see you react to this song. Love your reactions dude.
One of my favorite songs of all time thank you for Preston for for doing it, been a while since you've done some Megadeth you should do peace sells or tornado of Souls
My Darkest Hour would be cool to or even mechanics since he's listened to the Four Horsemen
Tornado of Souls....best guitar solo for metal ever.
@@blacktower7777 I don't know about best metal solo ever I've heard a couple that compare definitely up there but it's definitely the best solo in Megadeths catalog Marty Freeman's a beast
@@412xtaint I can agree with that. it's all about taste, I prefer David Gilmour solos to any. I am sure Preston will appreciate it for what it is.
@@blacktower7777 how can you not that solo is 100% tits
Expression of shear amazement on dude's face is priceless... I've been a Dio fan most of my life, LOVE Dio... This is dude's first time hearing this, to be honest I am slightly jealous; its that letting Pandora out of the box moment.... Glad to see dude enjoying this genre, speaks a lot about his ability to break free from stereotypes, embrace growth and expand your horizons. I tip my hat to you homie, I look forward to seeing your other reaction videos.
E.I.E.I.O.
I still have my ticket stub to this show, I was 13. I seen Dio, Maiden, Metallica, Queensryche, Pantera, (the list goes on an on) at the old Philadelphia Spectrum. A ton more at The Trocadero, Electric Factory and many other venues. The 80's -90's metal scene in Philly/South Jersey was friggin awesome. Tons of great local bands too, eg. Deadly Blessing. (Check them out, sick riffs with soaring high vocals) 🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻
I like songs that catch your attention from beginning to the end,,Preston I'm a musician and I love how you appreciate music. Your reaction videos are the best. Keep on rockin bro.🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
You MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST react to Dio - Don't Talk To Strangers [Live at The Spectrum 1984] next!
I love your reaction dude. Watched several of yours and always enjoy. Your appreciation for all genres of music is awesome. I grew up in the 80s and this was one of the many metal anthems of the time. Also should tip a hat to Vivian Campbell on guitar. Very underrated. Currently he plays rythm guitar for Def Leppard. You may enjoy Holy Diver by Dio as well. The second anthem lol
RIP Ronnie James Dio
Dio train is rolling...next stop Don't Talk to Strangers
King KTF thank you for your kind words about Ronnie and your wisdom to appreciate a vocal talent. The way you noticed the little things, like the way he moved on stage and how he captures the audience, i appreciate you for that !!
the great ronnie james dio.
may 16th its its 9 anniversary of his passing.
one of the alltime platinum voice in rock and metal history!
Thanks bro you reacting got me pump
Enjoyed this one a lot
He was already in his early 40's here. Amazing guy, amazing voice!
Dude, I dig your energy! This shit made my eyes drop rain water. Keep it up!!
Dont Talk To Strangers live at the Spectrum 1986
Yes!!!!!!!!
I wish i could like this 2 times
I was there too!
Man I know this reactions been up awhile. Im just here for a second round. I wish you could have been their at the Dio concert with me. What a front man! What a show it was!
R.I.P. The late great Ronnie James Dio
Wow!!! The energy!!! They are fantastic!
Let your soul be armored in Metal my brother...join us 🤘🤘🤘
I was fortunate enough to see Dio while I was stationed in Germany. He was the best act at that particular Monters of Rock! His stage presence alone was worth the concert. Master showman! Love this video!
Geez, does he have the best rock voice or what.
RIP, Ronnie . . . . you're missed.
Great review. I was 15 and at that concert, Philadelphia Spectrum. DIO voice was amazing especially live.
He was one of the greatest voices in heavy metal!! R.I.P. RJD!!!
Just watched this again! LOVE IT! LOVE YOUR REACTIONS, PRESTON!
RIP RJD
ROCK ON! 🤘🤘🤘
Rainbow (with Dio on vocals) - STARGAZER!
I saw this concert in Saginaw, MI back in 1984 when I was 16, it was an amazing experience!
Even Rob Halford and Bruce themselves would admit that RONNIE MUDDA FUGGIN JAMES DIO is the true and only voice of heavy metal.
Respectfully disagree...1 Halford 2 Dio 3 King Diamond...Especially live..
Respectfully disagree, David Lee Roth1, Dave Mustaine 2, and Paul Stanley 3( especially live) : D
Remember, without RJD nobe of them else exist..
@@sean7735 you can disagree all ya want its what halford and bruce said.
Bruce is 1. Others are below him
Love your reaction! Dio was one of a kind!
R.I.P Ronnie James Dio! Epic!!
Ah Preston, your reaction to this makes me so happy! I saw Dio live 3 times and he always put on the most amazing shows. Keep doing Dio, Maiden, Metallica and Priest. You won't be disappointed.
Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) - Brothers In Arms (London 1996)
He is in the top 5 of the best concerts I ever saw Dio is a damn master!! Love love your reaction!!🔥🔥🔥

I was in 10th grade in 1984. I recently ly took my son (U of L Engineering School) and several of his fraternity buddies to watch an 80's tribute band called Hairbangers Ball. They were absolutely blown away. They all said they were born in the wrong era for music. They loved the 80s Rock. Dio was the Sh!t. Great bands from that era like Metallica, def Leppard, etc. Keep up the good work Preston. Happy to see you recognize the real talent in Dio.
