Just went to his gravesite the other day... what a surreal feeling to have stood inches away from this legend.. If you’re in Los Angeles, and would love to pay your respects to this man, he’s buried at Forest Lawn cemetery!
Seriously man... I wish I was financially able to go to LA ... I would give all respect to one of the biggest heroes in the Metallic Hall of Fame: Ronnie has written the soundtrack to so many great and bitter moments in my life.... I would really like to say: Thank you. Other than that, I'm happy enough to have shaken his hand twice: Rainbow '76, The Sabbs a little later, and a conversation with him on the Holy Diver tour. I'm sure, he realized that I adore him.
Hell yes! RJD is the best singer in metal history, big influence on both Rob Halford & Bruce Dickinson. Massive Iron Maiden fan here but even Bruce said Dio is the best, Vivian Campbell was a beast of a 🎸 player back in the day too 🤘
Dio is, in my opinion the only metal muscician that TRANSCENDED music. He is not only the best metal vocalist, but of the best muscicians of all time. He brings MAGIC. Hes on par with michaem jackson if you ask me
I had the privilege of seeing Dio live on three occasions. Once when he was frontman for Sabbath, again early on in his solo career. Again, maybe 5 years before he passed. His presence on stage was that of a 7 ft Giant! I’ve never seen a performer that could hold and captivate a crowd like Ronnie James! Keep rocking the Dio, brother! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Dio had more stage presence in his hands than most singers so in their whole bodies. So much so he single-handely made the "metal horns" gesture a thing... which weren't horns really.. it's called the "maliok" (Malocchio) the "evil eye" when it's pointed at someone it's a curse... sort of an old superstition his oldschool Italian grandmother had. When the fingers are pointed upward, guards against the evil eye.. which is was the sign he was doing to the crowd.. and it took off ... becoming known as "the metal horns". Ronnie wasn't as athletic as Bruce Dickinson.. he wasn't running around the stage and jumping off platforms or doing David Lee Roth spin kicks.. but his gestures, expressions and stances really helped sell the story, emotion, and straight up power of his songs. That and he had "the voice".. immense power, depths of soul.. and complete control over every note.

T, you really should do the song “I” from the Black Sabbath album Dehumanizer. Dio rejoined them for this album after making his mark as a solo artist. It contains one of my favorite lyrics, but I won’t say what it is.
I've been really getting back into Dio a lot over the last year since I started discovering reaction videos. Dehumanizer is a gem. I saw DIO live back in '89 or '90...RJD fought a F*ing fire breathing DRAGON, live, on stage! It was EPIC! I was slightly...altered that night for sure, but there was definitely a dragon, & Dio definitely had a fire sword. And that was after watching Savatage & Megadeth! Hell of a show that one! 🤘😎 (Btw, I'm sure someone has told you before, but if you didn't know...Dio was the person that made the 'devil horns' hand sign so popular. He's the one that started it.)
Wow!!!! What a voice! All around fantastic!! All those people in the audience didn’t know how cool that was back then I don’t think. Man how cool it be to go back in time and be there?
Even the largest bands in the world metal wise put him on a Shelf all by himself. Because of his stage presence his intelligence. Also his ability to work a crowd. Dio was the master storyteller and although a small stature oh, he always believed in performing with big gestures and hand movements told stories of wizards, warlocks dragons and medieval stuff one of the best concerts I've ever seen when I saw him in the early 80s
Watching Dio live was like magic. You stood among a crowd of thousands, and you felt he was singing only and only for you - and everyone else felt the exact same thing. The world, music and art is lessened with his passing.
Everybody say he is the best Heavy Metal singer, but in my opinion there's nobody better than him in all genres, he was the best singer of his generation.
The guitarist was Vivian Campbell, he took over the guitar part for the Late Steve Clark of Def Leppard after he passed away. Most of the hits from the “Dio” solo work came from his guitar work. Really enjoyed your reaction. I love seeing how music can speak to everyone no matter what you know about the artist. Btw, Dio pretty much invented the Devil horns in Rock and roll, Gene Simmons of KISS says he did but we all know the truth! RIP DIO 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻

One of my favorite songs from Dio solo. As impressive as Dio was during the 80's, you would lose your freaking mind with "Mistreated" from Rainbow - live in Berlin '77. It's around, have the DVD, amazing concert but Dio as a singer goes a whole new level with this song. Having Richie Blackmore as your guitarist doesn't hurt either. :)

I was going to recommend a few Dio songs, but fact is you can blindly pick almost anything from his solo career - there are no bad ones. Outside of his solo stuff though, you might want to listen to Kill the King from his days in Rainbow (or Stargazer and Light in the Black). Lot of under-rated gems on the album Mob Rules from his time in Black Sabbath as well.

I tried watching other channels lately but everybody wants to pause every damn 10 seconds. So I watch your Channel all the time and I'm glad you don't do that. A lot of these channels don't realize the proper way how to do this. The fact that most people watch reaction videos because they already know and love the song and just want to hear it and watch their favorite RUclipsrs react to it. You set up the song and the artist, you listen to it in its entirety, and then when it's over you comment critique or whatever else you want to chit-chat about. That's why I like TNT
Ronnie is a God, an S-tier monster, the final opponent for any singer, doubtlessly! But the whole line-up is increddibly brilliant on this one. Turn a great Heavy Metal track into an thrashy Epic Metal hymn.
I was in the first row center, and it was crazy. Craig Goldy was spectacular. We were trippin so when the flames would fire off you instantly sweated. The first leg of the tour was opened by Queensryche, Rage For Order. Then after eu tour they came back and did the filming only Accept was the opening band. When it was over the 1st 20 rows of seats was flattened to the ground.
Top 3 best rock/metal vocalist ever, plus such stage presence for a 5'4 guy, his voice I'd define as powerful and melodic at the same time Btw, great musicians in the band, Craig Goldie excelled in the guitar solo, Vinnie and Jimmi on top form in the rythm section and Claude putting nice touches on the keyboards, I love Dio lml lml

Please react to stand up and shout by dio live in 1984. The only problem with it is that Dio forgot the first verse so he sang the second verse twice but it's a super energetic preformance. And if you want to hear dio when he was really young react to An angel is missing by ronnie dio and the redcaps (the song was made 3 years before the Beatles first album came out just to give you an idea of how long dio was in the music industry)
no maiden fans should be offended. Bruce cited Ronnie as an inspiration. Theyre two diff acts. But dio physically was a minimalist n more vocal. Bruce id say was reg vocal best he could but more physical for w.e reason . Dio is the true King.
Yeah man, Ronnie was effing awesome! Something in his voice so familiar. Like you've heard it your whole life even if you're hearing it for the first time.
Iv'e seen Dio live with Sabbath in 1980 and his band several times and on his last tour with Heaven & Hell (Sabbath but by calling the band H&H they didn't have to give Sharon and Ozzy one cent). Dio's voice always sounded great no matter his age.

Hell yeah....Im gonna build me one of those BC Rich Warlocks like that white he he is playing man lol
Hi i saw Ronnie sing this song live from the Holy Diver Tour in 1983 in Corpus Christi, Tx i won a couple of tickets from the local rock station.
Dio one and only. The band is also fucking awesome.
You said it!!! The stage presents from the old bands are sick.
Damn, they were good. Glad I saw them live so many times in the 80s.
From canada, stop tryin to be a perfectionist! Enjoy the music as we do, I’m here, lol. Cheers friends! 🤙🤘
Don't let em inside your mind no.. run run run away gooooo
Good voice. Great performer. Did you also hear the bass in the mix? Holy shite
Soooo good!
Love the breakdown and take, honest and right on time
Much deeper meaning will be realized. Going forward old rock groups knew a truth that is hidden from us
Love Dio - glad to saw him Live - thanks for react on that Sound
dio was one of a kind he could mesmorize an audience like nobody else glad i experienced both him n lemmy
Saw Ronnie James Dio twice. Once in the 80s and again in 2005ish when he Mottorhead opened for Iron Maiden. Dio always delivered it hard!!!!!
Top 3 best rock/metal vocalist ever, plus such stage presence for a 5'4 guy, his voice I'd define as powerful and melodic at the same time
Btw, great musicians in the band, Craig Goldie excelled in the guitar solo, Vinnie and Jimmi on top form in the rythm section and Claude putting nice touches on the keyboards, I love Dio
lml lml
The best version of this song is from a performance in 1983 in Holland. Check out the live version of The Last In Line at The Spectrum in '84.
🤟😝🤟 2022 and still loving Dio (yet I keep on talking to strangers).
Your one of Dio's desiples now, welcome. I'm a Maiden fan since 1980 I love Maiden but I agree with you 100%. Dio is the man.
Ronnie Dio is and always will be the Master of the Moon!
Joe from Germany
Saw this tour live, the man was larger than life!
R.I.P DIO , best metal singer ever !!!
Nice- I agree, Halford and Dio are the stage show leaders! Rainbow in the Dark,, Last in Line, Holy Divers- Dio must! Please check out Starz- Hearing Aid, Dio put it together with the big metal stars of 80s. Dio was my first heavy metal concert when I was 14. Please check out the Sinner Live Vengeance 82, shows off Halford.
Also if you like dio , some say he gifted his voice to a girl in a band called
LILIAC. Its a family ages 21 down to 12.
Absolutely incredible.
We are the children!!!🤘😎🤘
Or MARS.
MINDBLOWING!!
I ordered this VHS in the 90's. I wore it out! This music is so great. I love DIO so much. To see you jammin' on this, Tee is just rad. And you're right, when ya sing w/ yer hands, you're good.
I love this track this is INCREDIBLE
Please react to stand up and shout by dio live in 1984. The only problem with it is that Dio forgot the first verse so he sang the second verse twice but it's a super energetic preformance. And if you want to hear dio when he was really young react to An angel is missing by ronnie dio and the redcaps (the song was made 3 years before the Beatles first album came out just to give you an idea of how long dio was in the music industry)
Man this live version is better than the studio version and that guitar solo is just awesome!
no maiden fans should be offended. Bruce cited Ronnie as an inspiration. Theyre two diff acts. But dio physically was a minimalist n more vocal. Bruce id say was reg vocal best he could but more physical for w.e reason .
Dio is the true King.
I saw the Holy Diver tour Queensryche was opener awesome.
Dio... one of the few gI missed seeing! RIP
Ronnie is a self taught singer no training other than singing shows in cortland New York where he grew up
Yeah man, Ronnie was effing awesome!
More DIO on the channel)
