Sorry, vielä too fuckedvup up,maybe next Time...
DIO , DIO , DIO... O , DIO !!!
The guitarist name is Doug Aldrich and maybe Dio 63years old that time.
Guiitarist is Doug Aldrich !!!
Now playing in Dead Daisies !!!
During this tour he was sick, His health wasn't getting better but he wouldn't stop touring. He loved his fans and his job so much. He toured up to the day his body literally said no more and he couldn't physically do it. A true rock GOD.... There will NEVER be another Ronnie James Dio!!!
I think it is the humanity present in performances like this that truly make him a Metal God! Truly the Last in Line.
I had tickets for the tour he finally could not do anymore. Still gutted, that I never got to see him life.
@@Wuthahn_ Id make something col with it... Like a shadow box or something.. man thats heavy.

When Elizabeth hosts Dio. No question, just show up.

If she's reacting to Dio, I can count on some wide smiles and giggling. :) And to be honest, I think it's cute.
True.
I Love it... Yet brings on my "onion eye's".... Happens Every time I watch Her reaction's....
In my opinion, Dio was the the soul of Rainbow. No other vocalist came anywhere near the great man. He is missed so so much in the world of rock. From an old fan in UK
Was a Dio fan since Rainbow. When they announced Ozzy was out from Sabbath but they were looking for a new vocalist, I thought this won't be good. But, then they announced Dio was going to take over, and I thought, oh, well that's different!
With all due respect, if Ritchie Blackmore wouldn't have discovered Dio's talent, he wouldn't had gotten to the place that he reached. In and interview, Dio said it himself. He was struggling Rock singer in "Elf" for sometimes with his guitarist cousin David "Rock" Feinstein. When Dio left Elf, David went on and formed The Rods. They both gained more success than Elf era (David less that Ronnie though).
@@farshadelmianvari6763 That's quite the crystal ball you have there. Tell me, what's Monday's Mega Millions numbers?
You don't know shit what would or wouldn't have happened if Dio nvere hooked up with Blackmore. None of us do. Did Blackmore help him? Yep. Dio might've found his way without him. It's certainly not like once Dio left Blackmore his career stalled. It was just the opposite.
@@johntomasik1555 Instead of being a Blind Hardcore fan, read carefully what I wrote. He (Ronnie James Dio) said it himself in an interview that Ritchie was the reason his career took off (it's on youtube. I'm 100% sure that you are capable to find it). And yes. Maybe he could get somewhere later on without Ritchie's help. But like you said, "Might Have" but Ritchie's help, turned that "Might Have" to "Definite". Ritchie had something that Dio didn't at the time... What's the word??? Oh Yes. International Fame and Experience. He could even turn an average joe like you and I into a famous singer... Also, don't get me wrong. you are talking with a big fan of Dio. I have his logo tattooed on my arm. But it doesn't make me to close my eyes on the Facts and reality... Like you do. Cheers...
Dio is the soul of Rock!
Dio talking about his singing if anyone is curious
DIO: Well, that-- I’m always asked questions about singing: “How do you sing like that? How do you do this…” and I usually get that from other singers who say it to me like this [speaks in raspy voice]: “How do you sing like that?” Well… I know what you’re doing wrong… are you singing from the diaphragm? “No, I sing from up here.” Well, there you go -- there’s your first mistake. But, it goes so far beyond that and all the things that I’ve learned about how to do it which all came very naturally to me because I started as a trumpet player. I started when I was five years old, so I just applied the same technique. So, I think that I probably will, at some point, do a video, and show people how I do it, anyway, and see if that helps ‘em out at all.
Because I’ve had one guy -- only one guy -- that I’ve ever really told any of my secrets to, and that’s a guy by the name of Jeff Pilson. Jeff, who’s played with George Lynch and Dokken, and who played with us as well. Jeff had come to me and said, [in a high, strained voice], “Gee… how do you do that?” [laughs] “Oh, well, Jeff, here’s what I do… THIS!” and he goes, “Ohhh… so that’s it!” He was able to apply it. Everybody else that I’ve told this to, they get this big blank look on their faces, so I think I just need to learn how to explain it a bit better to people, perhaps. Or I think maybe I should just have more time to do it, as usually it’s the guy going [raspy voice] “How do you do that?” and it’s between sets, you know? Well, I tell them I’ll be doing a video someday. And they go [raspy voice] “I’ve give you thousands of dollars if you’ll just teach me -- just be my teacher!” You know, that’s not what I do. I’ll do that when it’s all over for me. I don’t want to give my secrets away anyway! [smiles]
I just know how to do it, you know? There are ways to do things. The first thing you do is you start with a song that warms you up: you don’t start with something that’s going to blow your brains out, ‘cause if you do that, you’re screwed! The unfortunate thing for me is… song #2, through whatever comes next will blow my brains out! But at least I’ve had a chance, via that first song, to find out what shape I’m in, what I need to do and how I need to do it. See, I’m a very lucky person. When I sing, I get stronger and stronger and stronger as I go along. So if I do two hours, by the times two hours has passed, I could do another four hours ‘cause it’s easy for me. Then I’m really, really warmed up. But warming up has been something that I’ve always hated. I hated warming up as a trumpet player, so I never did that either. And I hated warming up as a singer, ‘cause I couldn’t stand to hear people in the next dressing room going, “oh-ho-ho-ho-HO-HO”! What the fuck are you doing, anyway? This is rock and roll, pal! You know? If you can’t do it without doing that -- FUCK OFF! But that’s what they have to do; that’s what they have to do, and I’m one of those very, very fortunate hybrids of nature who doesn’t have to do that. Hey, perhaps I’d be ten times the singer I am if I warmed up -- but I don’t think so. My attitude has always been this: I’ve only got so many notes in my voice that someone either there [points up], or there [points down], has given me, and I’m not gonna waste ‘em. I don’t waste them in the shower, in the car: I only sing when it’s time to sing. So, when it goes, “One, two, three, four”-BAM -- I sing! The first note goes out, I go, “Not bad. I can deal with it.” I’m just giving my secrets away already here…
Dio talking about opera and Tony Bennett
DIO: The guy’s unbelievable! You think to yourself, “How can he possibly do this anymore at that age?” Simple, he’s that good. You know, some of the great opera singers have been able to do it for so long, because they’ve got technique -- just like I know how to do it, Tony knows how to do it. Pavarotti knows how to do it -- that’s a different animal though… opera. Opera singer is a different animal. That’s so much tax on the voice, I mean, at that level all the time, it’s hard to be that… and most of them die of heart attacks, anyway, because they start to overeat and emote so much. I think, again, if hey, Sinatra was still singing when he was that old, you know? It can be done. Why not? Sammy Davis, Jr. was belting it out before he died, and I mean that was the greatest entertainer that ever lived, so, why can’t I do it? [smiles] Sure I can. If I can be this much of what those people were, then I’m blessed.
Dio: But growing up for me, first hearing music, was with my grandmother and grandfather who listened to opera all the time. My hero was a guy named Mario Lanza -- he was my hero. I loved that man so much when I heard him sing, I thought, “Wow! Check him out!” My dad was a really good singer, too, never was a professional, never even sang in an amateur way. I used to hear him sing and would think, “Whoa! That’s pretty good…”
But in the case of opera, I heard these people singing, and I went, “Wow! Check that out! Wow, that’s amazing!” So I always wanted to take that attitude, and put it into a rock-attitude, when I had a chance to create my own things. Of course, I started out in copy-bands -- everybody does. You have to learn your craft somehow. So I sang a lot of R&B; as a kid; then when I got to write things, wrote in a more classical way, because as a trumpet-player, I played orchestra music all the time.
So I applied all those themes, and I’m talking classical ideas, opera ideas -- and was smart enough perhaps to put them into the music, and then lyrically, populate it with the people that I read. As a kid I was an only child, and I was just a voracious reader -- still am to this day, and I read a lot of Walter Scott, Edgar Rice Borroughs -- the John Carter of Mars series; I used to love that stuff that Borroughs wrote and all those wonderful things that maybe used my imagination. Knights on charges, you know? You didn’t know about those ‘cause nobody will ever see that -- nobody will ever see a dragon. So I had to create these things in my mind. I thought, “Wow, that’s so cool!” So when I had a chance to write I took all of those parts of my life and put them together, and what you got was “RONNIE JAMES DIO” - “Mister Fantasy” who’s stayed very true to what he’s done, which is one of the other reasons why I’ve been successful.
I’ve been given a strong and flexible voice that realized its potential because of my trumpet training. My instrument technique was transferred to my vocals and has allowed me to do it properly and to last this long. Opera was something always around me when growing up and influenced much of my later style.
Did Dio ever make that video?
Thank you for sharing this 🙏

@@brianlittle9202 I think he actually wrote some stuff with David coverdale, I think I've seen something about that some time ago
@@brianlittle9202 asked if David Coverdale allowed him "creative freedom" when he first joined WHITESNAKE two decades ago. Doug responded: "He didn't at the beginning. He wanted to play the hits on a couple of tours and started the band back up. I had gone and filled in with DIO in 2005 on some stuff - I went back with DIO - and David said, 'Look, make sure you come back home. Don't stay with Ronnie [James Dio].' And I just told him right then, 'Look, if we're gonna move this band forward, we've gotta come up with some brand new WHITESNAKE music.' So, he said, 'I don't know when it's gonna be, but you and I will be in the studio at some point. I can see it.' And I just took that as, 'Okay, I'll start writing,' and I'd start presenting David with music here and there, and he started to gravitate towards it and invited me up to write with him in 2006. I guess it was 2007, we had a great run of songwriting sessions, and we put together an album called 'Good To Be Bad'. It was just in the beginning he didn't really - I think he was burnt on the music industry as a whole - and once we started putting out albums, he started getting back into it, I guess."

Yes. This. 4th'd
And 'Catch the Rainbow'!
Yes, she needs to get after it and finally listen to Rainbow Eyes. The crush will become a flaming passion. :P
The specific show was recorded live at London Astoria back in 2005 and is part of the live album "Holy Diver - Live" on DVD. Ronnie James Dio was 62 years old at that time! As far as the fantastic solo Elizabeth talks about (11:57) , the man on the guitar is the amazing Doug Aldrich!
I agree... Doug Aldrich! Often overlooked as the great guitarist he is!
I was at that gig! I first saw Dio on the Sacred Heart tour (complete with Denzil the penis dragon!), and he sounded just as good 20 years later.
10:37 you can see her brain starting to melt once the guitar solo kicks in. It's glorious.
Saw the show for this tour at Manchester Academy. First gig I ever went to was Dio, on his Lock up the Wolves tour (1989?) and he was amazing then. His Holy Diver anniversary tour.... he was even better! He will always be a legend.
Doug Aldrich is a monster on guitar, a huge influence of mine and also one of the nicest guys in the business. I met him during his Bad Moon Rising sessions and he couldn't have been nicer. It's always great to meet your heroes and they turn out to not be total aholes.
In his live shows the introductions to the songs it's like on purpose to draw the fans in closer , with a lot of anticipation like you're waiting for something that's sometimes about to explode , Ronnie was truly one of the best at doing that I seen two of his concerts I was at and it was all the same drawing of fans closer 🤘🎧♾️😎
So cool. Dio is super underrated as a vocalist. He was a great vocalist for metal/ rock. But also a great singer in general.
”Everybody needs to listen to Dio more”. Couldn’t agree more. Razor sharp analysis together with your genuine reactions make these videos really enjoyable to watch. RIP Ronnie.
Think this was London 2005 and Dio was 62 at the time, 5 years before he died. One of the best rock singers and managed to maintain his voice till the end. Absolutely inspirational. Legend.
Yep. I was there. One of the best gigs ever.
@@smeghammer5627 YUP 62
So true! Saw him months before he died and he still had it till the end!
i already appreciate these singers so much but listening to someone that knows their stuff explaining all his techniques only makes me love them more
I love Dio and it's a joy to see how much you appreciate him and add texture to his vocal technique. A delight to watch
Elizabeth is like a schoolgirl when she listen to Dio, just as all of us. She really admire Dio from the bottom of her heart
Watching her listen to Dio is adorable.
"Don't write in starlight,
'cause the words may come out real"
Might be my favorite line ever.
A beautiful lyric. One that sticks with me through the years is "The world is full of kings and queens, Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams". At the weirdest times, commuting to work, in the gym, watching TV, that lyric pops into my head at least twice a week.....
It's also one of my favourite parts of the song, but I'm having a hard time trying to interpret (or translate) the word "starlight" into Spanish (my mother language), so, I'm kinda a little bit of lost in this phrase, would you say this means something like "don't wish something so lightly", or is there another meaning in English for this "don't write in starlight" phrase? Thanks!
@@conin.v Starlight doesn't translate too well into my mother tongue (polish) as well, but... I wouldn't say he means lightly. I have no sure way of interpreting it, but my gut feeling says it's the opposite to lightly - that if you really wish something, so much that you ask the Universe for it (as if you detach yourself from Earthly matters), then you might receive what you want. But hey, it's music, I'm still not sure what I like better - the idea that lyrics should represent what the lyricist meant, or that they are what they are to the receiver.
Anyways, I also love this line. :)
@@APK-pn4qh Same for me, I remember having a dilemma what to put into my yearbook and these lyrics popped up into my head. They are not popping up for me too often nowadays, I have some others that do that now. :D
@@conin.v it's also the essence of magical grimoires..to write in starlight..as opposed to candlelight..or sunshine..is to impart the moonlight directly into your spell..or creation..and seal it inside ..look into elven runes or writings...similar to the lore in Lord of the Rings..something written in special circumstances can only be read or revealed in those same circumstances...hidden treasures in plain sight...but with the warning.." Be careful what you wish for....you might just get it " ...
"A thing of beauty...is a joy forever" You are so in love with him...And we are too!
I have always loved Dio but your take on his music is so enlightening and you inspire me so much to listen from different perspectives that open up new worlds of joy and excitement! Thanks for being you! You ROCK!
The best version of "Don't Talk To Strangers" is on the original recording from 1983.
Agreed. Vivian Campbell just never gets the recognition... Whether with Dio, Whitesnake, or RATT. Vivian was a contemporary of Jake E. Lee, who was with, of course, OZZY
This is my favorite Dio track. So much emotionality in the track.
Agreed. Studio cut is phenomenal
The best live version is on 84
666% correct.
That's Doug Aldrich, dude's a beast on guitar.
Doug is great but Vivian Campbell was the best that Ronnie had and he should have kept him. As great as Ronnie is on vocals Vivian was that on guitar.
@@markrajfura4443 they couldn't, the had the biggest beef and well, partially Dio was right, he tried to rip Dio off…
@@markrajfura4443 agreed he was the best, but I imagine it’d be hard to turn down the kind of paycheck that Def Leppard can provide
@@FreddieHg37 Actually, sadly, Dio was ripping Vivian off -- Dio made Viv sign an agreement to accept scale hired-gun pay and accept no writing royalties with a promise to modify that by the third album. Dio, under management of his wife, never did - so Vivian got screwed out of alot of money and never received writing royalties for any of his Dio work. He asked Dio to honor his original agreement, but Dio's management (wife) said "no, you are easily replaceable" and started this story that Vivian "thinks he's Ronnie's equal". He didn't at all, he was merely trying to get paid for his work and have Ronnie honor his original promise. Sadly, it didn't work out. At the time he quit he was only making like $600 a week while Ronnie was raking in millions with songs Viv helped write. He loved Ronnie and wanted to continue working with him, but he wasn't going to keep getting ripped off. Vivian has too much class to go dissing Ronnie, so he mostly kept his mouth shut on all these details until Ronnie died - he laid it out in an interview several years ago. People close to the situation say he's telling the truth and that Dio's wife has screwed multiple folks over the years in similar ways. Seems like it's another Sharon Osbourne situation.
@@joelinvirginia5198 I really hope your telling the truth about managemant/his wife, cause from what I've heard second hand Dio was the most lovely down to earth guy you could meet in that world, except maybe a few Maiden-artists. My dad had a story about a co-worker touching down with him after a gig in Gothenburg maybe 20-25 years ago, and he was SO down to earth and approachable, he bought beers all around and all the time almost acted like a he was just another fan.
I just love your expressions when you are listening to this song and Ronnie's vocal, it shows you really like what you see and hear.
I love how happy this makes me. Great reaction to an amazing song. ❤️
The fact that this talented lady loves Dio just affirms how on point she is. He was one of a kind and so is Elizabeth.
The version from Holland in '83 is better. The guitarist, Doug Aldrich, said that Ronnie wasn't on top form for this tour because he had health problems. Even on an off day he's better than the majority at their best.
he had some flu if I remember it well. Saw him at the Debaser, Stockholm, among 1000 other cool dudes. (smallest venue I've seen him at)
@@cango5679 Yes. He did have the flu and they wanted to delay the recording of this concert video, but due to costs associated with a possible delay they opted to go forward with the concert recording. It was unfortunate because it was the last opportunity to have a pro-shot concert with his solo band before he passed. It's still always inspiring to see his awesomeness, even when sick. The pro-shot Heaven and Hell shows from Radio City Music Hall and Waken on the other hand are amazing documents of his prowess up until the end.
@@cango5679 I was at Debaser as well as i live in Stockholm the gig there was apparently in 2008 though (Checked on Tapios Dio site) so it was a later tour than this, i saw him in KB in Malmö before that which may be an even smaller place than Debaser. First time i saw him live was on the Dream Evil tour in 1987 at Isstadion and quite few shows followed through the years. I remember having tickets for another Debaser show, but it was cancelled and it was at the time he got really sick and sadly passed later on. Rock In Peace Ronnie !
@@Stefan- Saw the one in 87 as well :-) My first with Dio. Was not in the country 83 and in 84 got no tickets and in 85 (Sacred heart tour) I was off again and missed it. Most odd for me was the one in Åkersberga - a sort of road café place, or what it was LOL. Bob Daisley on bass.
So glad you do this analysis. LOVE the analysis. We are hearing DIO greatness
Dio has and will always be one of my all time favorite vocalist and I love that you give this aspect of it. To introduce people to his magical voice. And his beautiful charisma. He would have loved this if he was still with us. Rest in Power Ronnie James Dio 💙🙏💙🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Re the message, Dio wrote this 20 years after composing the song:
"I was very angry at this time, coming out of Sabbath, and it was reflected in the songs on Holy Diver. The way I saw the world, anyone who wasn’t family or a close friend was poised to cut me open with a knife. That’s how I felt. This was a negative statement of my own disenchantment, and I was projecting it out to anyone who would listen." (Source: Genius, quoting liner notes from a compilation release)
But I think it is legit to see this song, at least in its later performances, as an ironic take on "protecting your soul", just as Elizabeth says. Dio grew out of his disenchantment. And after all, the voice telling us not to smell the flowers is "anger and pain", and one hardly should treat life from a position of anger.
(edits for clarity)
The first thing that I as a fan of Dio take into consideration is that he NEVER spoke directly and clearly of the lyrics he composed. It's almost as if he hides his true inspirations and wants to make his work more "hermetic".
The fact that the message is clearly ironic to me is revealed in the lines:
"Don't hide in doorways
You may find the key
that opens up your soul"
Note that the "poetic speaker" makes use of a superstition (Don't hide in doorways), at the risk of precisely freeing the soul (hermetic theme very common in Dio's lyrics).
DIO was a very special person.
I went to several concerts when he was with Black Sabbath. This was in a very difficult time in my life and those concerts really kept me going.
Ronnie would make the whole audience feel welcome and important to the event.
Thank you so much for these videos explaining to the world what a truly exceptional performer this man was.
RIP Ronnie.
I went to live evil and it was completely amazing.
I always felt like an outsider being an adoptee. But Dio's music somehow made me feel part of something so special as to give me reason to live. I think he may be the GOAT!
Love your Dio coverage!
I saw him live in Israel a while ago and this song was such an emotional highlight for me, I still carry that experience with me
Love these Dio videos. So helpful for me as I'm learning to sing, and Dio is one of my idols next to Freddie Mercury.
If there was a Mount Rushmore for singers, Ronnie James Dio would be on it. Excellent song choice.👍
Or in Rio. You know - besides the other statue ;-)
Check out the album cover for Long live rock n roll. It's right there!
When the Woke Progressives cancel Mount Rushmore,
they can modify one of the faces to look like DIO…
In a way, Ronnie could BE Mount Rushmore by himself. The only others I could see belonging with him are Bruce, Rob, and Ian.
It could be Dio from Dio, Dio from Rainbow, Dio from black Sabbath and Dio from Heaven and Hell
Seeing Dio smile after his interactions with his crowd brings tears to my eyes. We lost so much!
Smiling on stage is infectious. A performer having fun, leads to a great crowd connection. It's reciprocal.
It just shows that even after all of those years he still loved to perform!
I still miss him every single day.
Fantastic review Elizabeth. I love you’re excitement and reactions to the incredible singing capabilities that Ronnie James Dio had. He truly was one of the best Heavy Metal vocalists that ever graced the earth.
RIP the master, the legend RJD 🙏🏻🤘🏻
You make me cry in every video. I love how you express - in words and otherwise - the power of the music. It´s beautyful!
I love Elizabeth's "brain melting solo" face. And when she asks how many notes were played during Doug's solo, the answer is: all of them
The fact that he can sing this song live and make it sound like he's in a studio shows what a great singer Dio was. RIP RJD.
Argueably his performance on stage is even better than in a studio. I'd say he's a better live performer than he is a studio artist. I reckon you agree, not sayin you don't, but I just want to put the statement out there, that Ronnie is one of those who does it even better in a live environment! He doesn't need multiple takes or safety nets, he's just pure talent. :D
Thank you for bringing an added appreciation and greater context to artists that I have always loved.
Wow this is actually my first time hearing this live version. And I gotta say, he sounds amazing. But having said that you can tell that he's enjoying himself and he's having fun with the crowd and his band. I think on the album version he sounds even more emotional and he has more of an advisory tone in his singing, he also sings the very first line higher which I really love. But both versions and all the other live versions are amazing because it's dio🤘 he's immortal
It's a shame that Ronnie and Elisabeth never got a chance to meet. Two kind souls, passionate about music and singing, I'm convinced they would have gotten along swimmingly.
Its a great thing to visualize!
You owe it to yourself to listen to Rainbow’s “Temple of the King”. It reveals the most beautiful side of his voice!!
Totally agree... A wonderful story painted by his vocals in this song ! "...and the day has just begun...."
And Catch the Rainbow. I love that she's been doing the more rocker songs but she really needs to hear what his voice is actually capable of doing.
She would love it. Doogie White did a great version with Rainbow I think 1995. It is worth checking out. Richie is brilliant and Doogie sounds great.
Love that song
here's a hidden gem.. Dio in Elf in 1975 .. 'Wonderworld' shows Ronnie's vocal softness with hints of his rock growl in places... Classic lyrics and song structure..

It's a lot of fun watching you, watch the videos. You're like a kid in a candy store and that is epic. You're supposed to enjoy music like you do; it's very refreshing.
I'm in tears now seeing how excited and giddy you are at being near dio. As a 30 year touring musician myself I still recognize the um.....the core of loveliness. It was ronnie
Ronnie James isn't a vocal idol, he is a vocal GOD and he was like fine wine. He only got better with age

Absolutely!!
You must do "The Sign of the Southern Cross", incredible vocals & song
Great offer..my killing fav mob rules song
My favorite song from sabbath and Dio
YES !! EXACTLY WHAT I WAS GOING TO SAY !!
100% My favorite song Dio ever sang.
Such an excellent choice!
One of the best live drum sounds I ever heard.
The giggle at 3:08 is absolutely adorable... and the build up too it, almost like you knew something was coming but had no idea, nervous excitement.
Love your analysis of these songs and the joy you get and show from them. As a metal "kid" born in the early 80s who doesn't really like reaction vids, yours are amazing, your smiles make us smile:)
Dio's singing is unrepeatable, there's no denying that. But I want to take a moment to appreciate how deep into music and singing Elizabeth is. Her mimics, her gestures, her excitement, the way she blinks rapidly when there's much to say but she can't find the words, the way she looks and laughs when she hears something unexpected! I mean, she's like a child opening its christmas present or something... Keep on with the good work!
Totally agree! Just can't help but smile when watching these vids, awesome 😊
I kind of miss the days when I hadn't already heard everything
so well said!!
I know, these are very fun reaction videos, huh? I'm a new sub and have only watched a few of her videos so far, but that's exactly what I noticed right away and liked/like about her too. So far I watched her reactions to Rush, AC/DC, Dio, Ozzy, Jethro Tull, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. All very different and she was excited and enjoyed every one of them with the same intensity. For an opera singer, I was amazed that she has the appreciation for metal like she does.
Might I echo your words! She is also very easy on the eyes...
You should have done the 1983 Amsterdam concert, I think it was his best performance of this song. Though its nice to hear how healthily his voice has aged. Next Dio song should be "Children of the sea" or "Shame on the night" from 1983 concert in Amsterdam
This channel never picks the best versions of his Dio or Sabbath songs. Unbelievable.
Black Sabbath Live Evil version of Children of the sea is the best version of that song I’ve ever heard. But that whole Dio in 83’ concert was really killer too.
@@larrym5120 It's the same with Maiden and Priest.
I think the whole point of choosing this video was to hear older Dio. Elizabeth has already heard Dio in his 30's and 40's, so it's nice to see how she'll analyze Dio in his 60's.
@@vibingwithvinyl I don't mind that but as someone else pointed out in another post, Ronnie wasn't feeling well at this point of the tour. Ronnie said he had a bad cold.
I love Dio, I've always loved Dio (well, going back to Rainbow and my early teens), but thank you Elizabeth for giving me a whole new way to appreciate his talent.
You are so fun and by far the best.I so enjoy this as I enjoy all your content.
The song that goes after is "Straight Through the Heart".
I can hear that riff for eons! 🥰
She gotta do it next cause damn it was a RJD cliffhanger at the end of her reaction
@@3flying986 Hear, hear! I would actually like to see Elizabeth analyse Dio singing it and then Lzzy Hale from Halestorm singing it as well. Lzzy makes some interesting changes to the delivery of the song that I think Elizabeth could use to highlight some of the things she mentions in this video, regarding the message you want to send with *how* you sing something, as opposed to just using the lyrics.
Yes, oh my goodness, yes, "Straight Through The Heart" makes my hair stand on end.
Dio learned his breath support technics by playing trumphet when he was young and was influenced by opera singers. That's how he created almost his own vocal techniques
I thought it was the French horn.
I just heard Vinny on Hangin' and Banging that Dio loved Louis Prima.
@@MrSman67 I did double research - both.

Opera and i think folk italian songs played a role.
Beside opera , in our folk music , singers have a tendencies , men , as women to attack some notes , even in higher octaves , in Full voice , very confident .
Dio high register are mainly in full voice as well .
This vid was breathtaking. Thank you! ❤
