Gangplank didn't just storm the workshop of Sarah Fortune's parents. They refused, he warned them that was going to have consequences, and he walked out without the guns. But I wonder, is League just too big now to do anything on that scale ever again? They've got so much to do now with the battle pass thing, the long champion designing process, pro play etc etc.
Depends whether you mean in-game or not. Because in-game? Probably very limited in regards to actual main universe lore. Out of game is still fine, even ruination was pretty good outside of the game. Book was very good.
I honestly love when games have the guts to make event changes like the (temporary) removal of champs for the added engagement, it's a very strong stance but one that gets me more into a game's events, the ongoing development and fleshing-out of a given world. I think Arrowhead's Helldivers 2 is the most recent example that comes to mind, and despite the matters of retention and the longer timescale of the Galactic War they face I think it's a great example of how great live service games can be, when you have less of a conflict of interests and an organization willing to take the risks necessary for those interesting event choices

I remember that Riot at the time had enough trust in everyone not to spoil things. and we didn't, no leaks from any teams came out. Riot was really awesome and they peaked during this time, they had just done the new twisted treeline and had a shadow isles themed event around it, over all it was just a ton of fun stuff they were cooking up for everyone for free. It doesn't feel like that anymore.
If they would have just kept him disabled for ESports reasons till everybody got the chance to understand the new GP, it would have ben fine. The lore + Event was epic shit and i would like more like that,.. maybe not sooo overpowered thou.
some months after my pc went kaputt i sold my account to a friend. nowadays i regret that, since im playing again and lost all those icons and skins from events, especially the bilgewater event.
I have the crazy theory that they will pull of something similar with Arcane 2. My reasoning behind that is that they just announced the new executive producer in charge of Arcane is the guy responsible for this event. That might give it a chance, but honestly what made me think it's possible is that the way he says it on the video alongside the S2 teaser, sounds a bit like he's foreshadowing something coming soon. Maybe Jayce and Viktor get disabled for a full week or something
Wait, a messed up leg and he told the doctor to just cut it off? Did they take the old swain lore where he was also said to not even flinch/respond to them removing it either(without any painkillers).
I wish events in League continued bringing the lore into the client/missions. Truely changing parts of the client or parts of the game to show something big is happening. Despite all the inconsistancies and terrible writing, the Ruination event was the only event with the potential to be better than the Burning Tides. Sadly we all know that didn't end up happening, but I hope events in the upcoming years will bring more baseline lore for people to perhaps get invested in the story of the game. The skinline events are usually fine. Spirit Blossom and Soul Fighter were neat because they brought something new to the table, even though the main event were 10 new skins, instead of passionate writers and designers trying to tell a new story for fans of the game.
I was a gang plank main at time of rework, I actually didn't care for the new kit as much even though it's objectively better it just didn't suit me. It was a cool time though, and the burning tides community collab still exists on RUclips from the event, back when rito did alot of community stuff.
Ngl theres something kinda funny and cute how riot kept the he's dead bit Player: "Why is gangplank disabled can I play him later?" Riot: "H-he's gone... *starts crying*"

10:25 there is no such thing as "taking too many resources" for a company with infinite resources. They just want to go for the lazy way for bigger bottom lines which is cutting costs.
It was a really cool idea that kinda sucks for a minority of people. I wasn't affected as I wasn't a big GP player back then, but if you were a gp otp you were not playing ranked for that time. Lol
They should do that to Yummi and all inting champs when not used by a pro player. And Shaco, so all the PinkWards bronze wannabes can stop ruining matches.

If they would have just kept him disabled for ESports reasons till everybody got the chance to understand the new GP, it would have ben fine. The lore + Event was epic shit and i would like more like that,.. maybe not sooo overpowered thou.
The $500 skin got me 😂😂😂😂
some months after my pc went kaputt i sold my account to a friend. nowadays i regret that, since im playing again and lost all those icons and skins from events, especially the bilgewater event.
People really do forget that Jhin killed 4 champions as well...
Maybe Jayce and Viktor get disabled for a full week or something
this was like a month ago remember it like it was yesterday
I want to see a video about toplane with smite/ignite + tp meta
Dam… 2015. I feel like this was more recent lol 😂. I’ve been playing lol for to long
yeah agreed - i had to do a triple take on the date
Rework to unrecognisable… Poppy…
I never heared of the Game mode but i loved everything else about the event
2015 was yesterday what you talkin bout
I mean they killed Swain with the rework. However they are trying to revive him now with the new midscope
Whenever they rework a champion a bunch, they should so some kind of lore drop, so it wouldnt just feel like a buff or nerf
why the hell did they get rid of the alternate aram map? like. they should have made aram swap between the two maps
As the old man that I am now, I remember this fondly.
This guy forgetting about the Jhin pre-release where they 'killed' Garen, Ryze, Sona and a fourth champ I can't remember off the top of my head.
They weren't deactivated/there was no impact on the game itself
@@myth-leagueoflegends They were deactivated, you couldn't pick them for close to a week maybe longer.
@@OnlyGettyi'm pretty sure that's not true but i could je mistaken
2:09 why tf does miss fortune have hearts coming out of her middle parts
R.I.P Urf Dolphin 🙏🏻
The fact that there's no way to bring the GP announcer back makes me cry everyday
you can actually if u type /tot.gpannouncerpack.vl in chat.
They also killed Viego in Wild Rift a couple weeks ago
Ngl theres something kinda funny and cute how riot kept the he's dead bit
Player: "Why is gangplank disabled can I play him later?"
Riot: "H-he's gone... *starts crying*"
It was so much better back then.
I still have the skin, it was a good event. But I still miss Gp one shot build
I still feel like they deleted the old swain as well, there’s pretty much nothing left of the old dot mage🙃, my favourite champion of all time, rest in peace my friend.
I mean yes the old ultimate was a bit op and maybe the playstyle wasn’t the healthiest for the game, but it was the most fun champ they ever created, pls bring him back😔
Who is rafen noted at 4 mins 9 sec on the staring part of the act 2
havent played when GP lore was but i miss the old Aatrox i loved playing him ap :c
10:25 there is no such thing as "taking too many resources" for a company with infinite resources. They just want to go for the lazy way for bigger bottom lines which is cutting costs.
your accent is familar are you from NL by chance?
I still talk about bilgewater aram because it had bans and I wish they gave regular aram bans
I recall this event!.... it was so good!...
Bilgewater was one of the best events. I wish Ruination would've been that scale.
Not disabling GP in pro was poopoo tho
what if they killed ahri after the ongoing event that people have spent 500 dollars for the new skin?
write out all the champs and make norse gods......oh wait this is smite
We need to start purging champions🗣️🗣️🗣️
It was the MOST EPIC EVENT EVER! Great, great, great event
02:08 okay I'm turning it off, they really did kill MF
weren't garen and lux disabled for a while during jhin's release?
Best part of this video.. The 2 1 2 laning with no jungle. Oh classic league..
evelynn, galio trundle as well
OG GP with Crit Runes
We've gone from this to TF and Graves being buttpirates in the past 9 years of lore changes. Thanks Tencent!
What about Urf the manatee?
It was a really cool idea that kinda sucks for a minority of people. I wasn't affected as I wasn't a big GP player back then, but if you were a gp otp you were not playing ranked for that time. Lol
Ah yes, the lore that straight up tilted one of my homies from the game because he mained old Plank. He hasn't played since.
They should do that to Yummi and all inting champs when not used by a pro player.
And Shaco, so all the PinkWards bronze wannabes can stop ruining matches.
holy shit whoever name the gankplank: Du Học Chơi Game
It wasn't as bad of a decision, they just shouldve swapped to the version people had seen
why delete your jungle guides man?
