I feel bad that Smosh’s schedule is so busy because it would’ve been nice to see Ian and Anthony watch it in a proper theater or even have the entire cast of Smosh watch it. But with them being so busy I know it was just down to a matter of them having just a jam packed schedule and if they weren’t so busy then they would’ve been down to watch the trailer in a heartbeat.

@@anitacho9023 No they're not controlling them lol they have ownership of their brand. The CEO is a trusted person Anthony chose and was part of his team at his own company, and Ian and Anthony have both a great relashionship with her. She and the higher ups were probably just trying to keep the schedule in check.

I love how this is both a trailer for Smosh but also a 28 minute video that ends up showcasing how cool Ian is, he's always been my fave and it's stuff like this that I'm like 'yeah, he'd be down for that' he just needed to be asked directly. Plus he got you guys the photo of Anthony, that was so nice of him.

Shout out Diana (Physics Girl)! She’s an incredible science educator but has been battling an auto immune disease since getting Covid. She literally doesn’t get out of bed because she’s extremely fatigued 24/7.

I genuinely had zero idea she was the one who encouraged Ian to reach back out to Anthony. That's wild... but it makes sense.
It's called ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis) and it is actually NOT an autoimmune disease. Not much is known about the disorder because not much research has been done, but it affects about 3% of people who have had an acute infection of some sort. There is currently no cure.

Ian is so nice and down to earth, he carried smosh through the hard times .. he’s still carrying smosh.
He really is such an integral part. He's that parent that has to do all the boring everyday stuff so you get mad at him more than the fun one. But the one you realize has always been there and you're closer to and can trust. At least that is how it seems like for the cast.

The joke in the fandom is that Anthony is the dad who left to buy sigarettes and Ian is the single mother who worked two jobs and took care of the kids 😂. I think that Ian was great, it must have been hard. Anthony is being a good dad to Smosh too now though, all the cast is always on his channel. Smosh has two parents again

To anyone who might not watch Ian much or know him well- he really, really enjoyed this. He's very deadpan and whilst super chill, is not the most expressive dude in the world. You might think because he wasn't tearing up or cackling or jumping for joy he didn't love it, but it's clear he was blown away. Congrats guys
I don’t always love RUclipsrs who find their fame clout chasing larger RUclipsrs - HOWEVER, I feel like you bring so much talent and effort to each of these videos, and I love how the aim of the video is to surprise and gift a cinematic retelling of these RUclipsr’s journeys

This video shows off one of the most challenging aspects of these guys videos. They have to get in contact with massive celebrities for every trailer they make. I don't see people recognize how difficult that is very much.

Agreed. They have an actual story behind it. Must have been rough for Ian to watch it (along with it being impressive and cool and fun). That was his lifetime friendship breaking and his friends possibly loosing their jobs. With all of it hanging on his shoulders

Not me crying when our hero, Ian Hecox, showed up for the trailer.
Sorry for long comment but... For the people getting on smosh for declining. They were merging two companies, hiring new people, restructuring, changing the direction, reintroducing Anthony. (for example, lunchbreaks were likely taken at the office for the sole purpose of Anthony getting to know everyone). They were blowing up and had so many interview requests. I genuinely think it was mainly a timing thing, not a want thing. Having someone else in charge of filtering out requests is so normal (and needed) at a point like this. Them continuing to ask was the correct thing because timing and the right people have to line up for pulls like this. That's simply the logistics of it all.
To smosh it likely looked like all the 100s of asks they get daily from random half-baked creators shooting their shot. The first 4 asks would simply have been filtered out along with spam. Those would not even get near Ian and Anthony. I think people severely underestimate the amount of "hey, wanna hear my mixtape" they get. They have people helping them sift through it to get to the good stuff. How would they know this was the good stuff? How did they try to sell the idea? We gotta remember that we are seeing this from their side, not the stuff smosh got in their inboxes. This is the kind of thing that has to be packaged and sold very well or it seems rather.... fishy and clout chasing. Which I don't think it is, but I could see it reading that way. Glad it worked out.

As a major Smosh fan this video makes me so happy. That channel is made up of some pretty amazing people and I love to see it get some love!!
This was a great hook for smosh fans. These actors did a great job capturing Ian and Anthony’s spirit. Even with such a large focus on early smosh, as a newer smosh fan (I started watching while Anthony was gone) I love the feelings and stories displayed using Anthony’s I spent a day with.
The only mistake is that Smosh's Spanish Channel was done by a fan that joined the team, it wasn't a part of Smosh being acquired.
Imma want to see bloopers and deleted scenes from ‘If Smosh Was Made Into A Movie’.

The Smosh higher ups rn are actually quite chill and competent, when they said they couldn't do this collab they obviously did it because that would mean opening a precedent on scheduling collabs which they really had very limited time to do

Markiplier trailer would go SO hard. He has lots of interviews and videos on his channel where he tells so many stories of his life from near death experiences shaping who he is, to goofy side stories. Not to mention having some of the most monumental moments in RUclips history.

As someone who has recently gone through a similar process (1.5 years, several favors from famous people, and many brick walls to ram my head into), I understand the pain. On the bright side, it all worked out in the end. If you are determined enough for long enough, you can achieve anything.

This. They are so insanely busy. Ian has taken a 2 month vacation in like 7 years or something. Anyone trying to turn this in to them being to big for their britches or this being anything personal against these talented dudes doing the trailer are really running on feelings.
