    This is way faster than the classes I've taken at the gym. The instructors there always say "slow and controlled" and to focus on our form. There is no time to focus on form with this video. That being said, it's a great workout, and I'm glad the poster below gave info on how to slow it down!

    A great workout for people who want to feel the ache for a week! I couldn't make it beyond the lower legs (barely got into the plies in second :O) but I plan on progressing myself through. A lot of barre videos seem to be aimed at beginners and cater to them, but as someone with a background in dance who wants a video that challenges as well as refreshes old muscle memory this is perfect :)

    I agree with the rest that this is a tad too fast and might cause us to forget good form. HOWEVER! If you need the pace to be slower, go to the video setting at bottom right of the screen and click SPEED then select 0.5 to slow things down.

      You should see a gear/wheel icon next to the "full screen enlargement" icon. That's the setting option in which you can select speed.

      Problem with slowing to 0.50 is that she sound like drunk lol .I will try at .75

    I fell in love with these routines years ago, they got me into barre!

    Hi Shauna. I know you made this video a few years ago, but I wanted to tell you that your body shape is absolutely beautiful! I have tried so many different workouts throughout my life (I am naturally very muscular and I am 5'1") and they always made me put on more muscle mass than I would like due to my genetics. Then about 4 years ago I found yoga and pilates. Love the results! Strong and lean. Now I have found barre and eventhough I have never taken ballet, I really like the physique most ballerinas have. Then I found this video! Wow it is awesome and I have no doubt that results will be starting to show immediately with all that burn...burn..BURN!! I like seeing that it was tough for you as well and it shows no matter how advanced you are with doing these exercises, they still give you a challenge! No wonder you have over a million views. This workout is awesome and it's FREE. This is something people pay lots of money for in barre classes. Thank you so much for making it available for us who feel more comfortable doing this in the privacy of our homes. And BTW, the tempo is just fine for me. I don't know if people realise pulses are small, quick movements so your 100 count is going to be fast, as it should be. Take care.💪💗

    I love all the "experts" on the internet! ; )
    This is not a heavy weight training video - the rep speed is brisk bc the weights are light. The squats are deep bc it is barre. Start with very light weight & the range of motion that you can do & progress. Perhaps it should just be labelled as NOT for beginners. Being a fellow fitness instructor, I appreciate this video! THANKS!

    I really wanted to love this video - the rigor and no-nonsense approach is great. But as people have said, it's just too fast. It's not just the transitions - the pacing of the reps is unreasonably fast, so much so that I imagine it ups the risk from injury caused by bad form. Form is so important in barre work, and this doesn't strike the right balance between being fast-paced and tough and allowing even experienced athletes to maintain a proper form as they complete the exercises.

      Shauna Kathleen I love all the videos. I guess some don't realize that the pace in a studio is that fast. In my gym class it is fast but not as fast just because of the size of the class and we don't have the same props or weighted balls etc, to work with. I'm assuming this is to be a cardio workout too b/c I'm in sweaty beast mode after I'm finished with your video. I don't go to a class unless I can come out sweating my butt off literally.

    I really liked this. Not only is it a toning a sculpting workout, but I would also say cardio as the fast reps definitely got my heart rate up.

    i loved this workout.
    this is not for beginners!! the 100 squats were verrrrrry challenging. i guess if u do this 2-3 more times it will get easier..
    but it was a great workout

    My body hurts all over! LOVED this, and yes, I thought it was a bit fast at first, but now that I've done this video a few times, I like the pace because I know what to expect and love getting right into it!!

    Only adding my opinion due to all the negativity. This is awesome. I was fishing for workouts while getting a little mindless cardio in. I can tolerate beginner workouts once or twice before I have to move on because they waste so much time explaining moves and talking. This is something I can do many times and watch my improvement over time. First I may only get through 5 reps before you move to the next but it's the same as if I were to take a live class. 2 time i might get to 6 or 7 reps. I can repeat this multiple times, add my own music and just focus on me.

    WOW!! This workout kicks ass!! It's hard , but I kept up with it until the last set of floor. I will do it the next time. I even lifted up my heels for a few set of the plies 100 too!

    Love the workout though I would recommend inserting breaks in between the sections for future videos like this. I kept having to stop and go back due to not having transition or water time. Awesome workout though!

    Absolutely my favorite full body workout. I found this video maybe 3 years ago and still doing it to this day, whether its the whole thing or parts of it, bc I love the arm workout and abs workout as a supplement to other workouts I do on some days. love it!

    The pace was a little fast for me in the video itself, so I ended up just referencing it for technique, but going off of the write-up you posted with it. Really hard, awesome workout! I will be using this pretty much exclusively for a while, working my way up to all the reps and perfecting my form. Thanks for posting it!

    It is fast, and I started out changing to the 0.5 speed, but switched back to normal (one I couldn't stand how her voice sounded like she was drunk and two the 100 pulses were killing at that speed). I've never taken a barre class and was intense. Now, I'd like to compare it to a regular class (I've heard there hard!).

    I agree that the tempo is quite quick but will just adjust my settings as per the other comment for next time -the plus side of the fast pace is that I just kept going, if I had too much time to think I might not have completed the full workout. Enjoyed the video, surprised myself that I managed to keep up (except for the plank series but it's a work in progress) and actually worked up a sweat! And yes, loved listening to my own music while I completed the workout :)

    This is not that fast wth are people talking about. She also explains the point of the pace 🙄 u want it slower then know the moves and just do them slow on your own. No biggie. This i know will burn so many calories and really get the heart rate going for u to get a really good workout as a former non professional dancer..i really like this and i know for sure it works!

      Exactly. I have no idea what people are complaining about. It's not that fast. And pulses especially are supposed to be quick small movements to fatigue the muscle with no break in between thats the method to getting results fast in barre. Maybe people should watch the video first all the way through like I did to get an idea of the exercises, than try to do it. Also, this workout is mostly for fit people, IMO. Not really a beginner lever workout. The people who can't keep up might be a little out of their league and just aren't ready for this type of exercise yet. But they shouldn't be rude to Shauna. I think she did a good job making this workout. It's just like what you get in actual barre class.

    Ok I just did this work out! Love it but I take back my last comment it is a little too fast. I had to pause a lot. But I'd still rather it be too fast than too slow. It burned a lot of calories for me!! This 40 minute workout took me 60 minutes but that's ok. I made it :) Thanks Shauna!

    This is an every OTHER day workout and slowing down the video. Tuesday Thursday Saturday light days of other workouts incorporate yoga and of course eating right and lots of water.

    Loved this workout! My passion is HIIT workouts and I use heavy weights too. I would say I am pretty close to advanced work-outer. :) But this burned in a different way, I was actually a little bit sore the next day. The reps need to be quick, so the heart rate is up all through this workout.
