Awesome video! You answered a lot of questions I needed to know about for moving the relay box in my wife's 2016 Jeep Patriot. I am thinking of doing this to prevent future problems. Thanks so much for making this video! 😊
Nursing an old Caliber along is admirable. I have welding blanket from Princess I cut pieces from for applications like this. If appearance matters, there's DEI cloth.
You should be working for a half million a year as a top engineer at Chrysler. You'd save the poor folks who buy their vehicles a lot of headache and money. ;) :)
Wonder if you can just waterproof seal the box in some way. It's in a terrible location and people who have the jeep versions think driving through a foot of water is what they're designed to do. Daimler Benz went the cheap route on these when they had ownership of Chrysler.

Wowww that's the most miles I've ever seen on a caliber 😮
Kilometers. multiply by .6 to get miles.
@@ClaremontClassicGarage 😅 okay okay. Makes better sense now

The bean counters and share holders always overrule the engineers. Imagine how much wire they saved doing it their way.
Hı Thank you for this info. Mine has same problem with same relays. Can relay (20amp) be upgraded to 30amp after cabling like that?
just go with the 2007 Bosch style relays like I did and it'll be fine. The bosch relays can carry lots of current.

If you get one and look at it that would be pretty difficult. The bottom of it where the wires go in is all open. Its just a bad design.
