CompAir Mobile Compressor part 2 Making Sure Its Worth Fixing
Have you ever replaced the seals on rear axles on this 550? Mine are leaking badly and it appears to be more than I want to tackle. Just keep adding fluid.
Haven't done them yet. But eventually I will.
Yup, had the abs, hcu, and now the parking sensor crap. 18 power wagon here
The electronics in them seem to be POS.
Thanks for sharing, Kevin
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video! You answered a lot of questions I needed to know about for moving the relay box in my wife's 2016 Jeep Patriot. I am thinking of doing this to prevent future problems. Thanks so much for making this video! 😊
Thanks for watching.
Another great video by the TTC Master Mechanic. Thanks for this Pal!
Barney the Beaver is my wingman.
G day Kevin Cockshutt were red too, I think they were latter models I am surprised that u r keeping diesel Ths Were is this marketplace u talk abput
Diesel every time! I'm an old diesel mechanic. I love them . Marketplace is the classifieds section on facebook.
Thanks for your videos. You are a true 8n pro!!!
Thanks for your kind words, and thanks for tuning in!
Hi... Is there a way to contact you? And I don't do Facebook....Thanks
On the channel homepage on here its right at the top. click on "more" and you'll see an email. I can't type it in here in the comments because the bots will get it and spam me into oblivion.
Early in the video the flat black chopped Merc is a Hudson.
Thank you!
That old Ford sedan ❤❤❤❤
Nice rides Kevin ❤
Hi there I watched ur video. Awesome info. Statarted on mine and it started to bubble everywhere. Mabe cause it original but on the positive I was able to order a screen on Amazon for 250 canadian and its plug and play. Comes tomorrow so it better work or I'm a dead man cause its wifes truck. Pretty sure she won't be happy with no music😮
Worst case strap a ghetto blaster in the back seat like we used to do.
Could that sticky thermo glue be bought and just re applied
I thought about using some silicone or something but if it didn't work I'd be screwed so I never pursued that avenue.
Terry kitchens Cuda got wrecked the frist night it raced they replaced it with a new 72 charger that fell off the auto rack car was screwed but good enough for kitchen I have those photos of scannel and kitchen they gave them out at the track I gess with the panfilit
Thanks for sharing! Love hearing about those times!
Nice tractors
Thank you!
G day Kevin Boy that Oliver cup really stuck for me Those ford tires were bargin. Ths
I remember seeing those tires in a Dennis carpenter catalog years ago and thinking how much I'd love a pair but they were CHA-CHING. So happy to finally get them.
Hi Kevin, Looking forward to the 9N restoration.
Me too! We actually have 4 or 5 9Ns waiting to get into the shop.
Always enjoy looking at old cars and pickups. My wife just bought a 1956 Chev. 4 door sedan last week. The same color in your video. Thanks for sharing.👍
Old cars are fun! Thanks for watching and enjoy that Chevy.
Love it. I will try my door lock. I had the same washer since 06, it keeps limping along also.
This one is around the same vintage. Somehow, we keep it going.
That makes sense. Did you end up trying the gas steering box on the diesel?
Not yet, its all wrapped up on a shelf.
i cant even open my lift gate
That happens to some of them. Unfortunately the only solution is going through the plastic inside panel to get it open. I can't remember if it comes off easily with the door shut
just got quoted $2,800 to replace resin in the two tanks and $395 to replace carbon in the 3rd. Glad I found this video
Mine's still working great since I did it. Thanks for watching!
Your video is bad ass man thanks for the help I have a 08 jeep patriot just had this issue
Stupid place to put relays. but they saved millions on wire.
Look under you bullies on your pro cut 61 there are bearings that need greece just so u no there only on the blade pullies
Thank you!
Just a note from experience when repairing the front axel pivot area on these tractors. The radius rods probably were not bent. That pivot hole through the axel is drilled at an angle and is not perpendicular to the axel. If you look close the radius rod pivots are not directly in line with the axel pivot point. This gives some positive camber to the front axel. So if the axel is repaired with the pivot hole perpendicular to the axel the radius rods do not fit properly into place.
That would explain a lot! OOPSY. Thanks. I know where there's a super 55 in a boneyard. I'll get the axle beam from that and have another go at it.
Interesting to watch you improve this great old tractor. My early career was in an Oliver dealership, so the memories are real. Glad to see you replaced the clutch safety switch, because safety should be first priority.
Thanks!
Great sounding tractor. Thanks for sharing.
Waukesha Power !!!!!!!!
G day Kevin Interesting video. We had Allis WD, ploughing & all of sudden made heck of a noise 1 wheel let go & went out, I don't remember the rest I did put W-4 wheel on 1 time , & while doing thought if this things fall over I,m gone Thanks Sounds nice
You have to be careful. Those wheels hurt a lot of people.
Great coverage Kevin, l have one of those David Brown Cropmaster, great fun to drive with a passenger, the clutch and brake both on the right hand side of the transmission and steering wheel offset to the right. Back in the day it was said to be a great way to take your girl out on a date night!
Thanks for tuning in!
Just had my radio replaced today..brand new. Called uconnect directly they had me go to Jeep dealership , they checked my radio, it was ghosting and deamination. Uconnect accepted my claim and 12 days later I got a new radio installed...FREE. call uconnect to start the process.
I had to get a new digitizer because cracked the old one trying to seperate them (that glue is strong). The new one had it's own double sided tape on it but it was too thin and had massive "ghost touching". I took it apart again and used the thicker gorilla tape this time and everything works fine now.
That's great to hear. Glad you got it working.
I personally like the TE20 Ferguson over the 9N and the 2N Fords but I like how ford used a spacer on the front of the axle pivot pin and then recommended washers / shims on the back of the pin to keep the axle pivoting instead of pivoting and a ever so slight wobble…. taking some of the strain off the support arm pivots and front pins and even less stress off all the steering components….. Maybe this was just Henry propaganda but it seems right…..
The Ford only needs that stuff because the radius rods are too flimsy. I have straightened the radius rods on every 8N I have ever owned. I've never had to straighten a Ferguson radius rod.
Gd day Kevin At 8-26 IH tractor. Neighbour had one & put V-8 flathead into Had lots of power could not keep it cool even though that rad looked a fair size. Yes the neigh our that had super 55, now I don't know if he had green 550, but he did get a red 550, bought new with loader on. Another neighbour to 70"s dodge truck I think 318, cut it off behind cab jointed it to a Massey 44 rear end "Trucktor" I wonder if that Oliver lawn tractor does not belong to "Curtis Graham" JD I heard is coming out with pkup truck ??? Boy that tractor rim was reasonable. Ths for showing
Thanks for watching! I'd been looking for a repairable used Ferguson rim for several years. It pains me to pay 200 for a new one when I know there's a used one out there somewhere.
The Cockshutt Hart-Parr at 9:00 was at Lindsay lol pretty sure it was in your video.. Great job filming 😊
Thanks for watching!
Hi Kevin, Are you sure you called the 8N's correctly as far as side and front dist.? It didn't look that way to me.
i might have got them mixed up. ill watch it again.
Thanks
Thanks for tuning in!
Beste Waar haal je de onderdelen van de gasstang?
just google Ferguson tractor parts. There are places all over the world that specialize in them. You will find a vendor near you. Sometimes I find used parts locally, sometimes I even have to make parts.
When you're done with it, just send it down to Missouri. I am amazed on your perseverance on working on these old tractors, not to mention your ingenuity on solving problems and broken parts.
Thank you. I really enjoy doing it. It keeps my mind working that's for sure. .
I’m enjoying this 550 series. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
G day Kevin Boy interesting. Now pto, I was told & if u look on tack U will speed 1000 pto speed. I was wondering if u can show how that works. Whenulling pto stub off? Yes white grille makes it look more like 550 did. Ths
This one has a standard 540 PTO. I believe there was some kind of external gearcase that went on the back of it to convert to 1000. I'll need to look in my manual tomorrow.
Heres a how to video- doesn't actually show you how, just points at and talks about what they did :/
Very few of my videos are actual how to tutorials. They are more of a vlog. I cannot do a job like this showing every single detail. The video would be 3 hours long and nobody would watch.
Thanks for the video, Kevin. Makes me want to go out in the garage and fire up one of my hit and miss engines. Have not had one run in a few years now. Take care.
I love those things.
thank you for the info steps and time you took.
Thanks for watching!
For anybody wondering, he mentioned a massey 135 and Ford 3000. Both would handle the wc88 just fine. I run mine with an International B-414 diesel. It is right around that 35 pto hp zone, and it handles it great. Pulls hard on big wood, but im not running 8" through it unless it is soft, maybe punky already, and i don't think these chippers would hold up to constantly feeding big wood into them, especially if it is hardwood. And, i am like most guys running these things, 5-6" is usually going to firewood, and the bigger opening is just a better way to squeeze branches through. I really like the idea of the ones that have more like 8×10 infeed opening or even bigger, but wider one way. Woodland Mills has that newer 810 that is made like that. I'm not sure how well it is working out for them. It is direct drive, which gets the infeed down a little lower and is supposed let the torque of the tractor pull through better, but it looks like too many moving parts for my taste. I like the 88.
I wish my wc88 had a lever to raise that infeed wheel up...i might have to look into modding it one day. You can't easily and/or safely feed short pieces like punky firewood rounds or splits.
Its one thing I miss about my old Jinma
I bought the wc88 over other brands in part because of how high that chute gets the chips. I wanted to be able to load my dump truck, and it works great for that.
I do appreciate being taken to these shows, Thanks!
Happy to take you all along!
G day Kevin I live about 10-12 klms from Waterloo. I know were Waterloo Mfg is now. Did not know they made steam engines After u reading different towns from middle Ont. I am surprised at so many Ths for now
There were all kinds of them around back then. It was fascinating to see them.
You should be working for a half million a year as a top engineer at Chrysler. You'd save the poor folks who buy their vehicles a lot of headache and money. ;) :)
The bean counters and share holders always overrule the engineers. Imagine how much wire they saved doing it their way.
Setting the gap on that anvil knife was one thing i didn't like also, i made a wooden go/no go gap gage to set my old chipper, but all you can do with this one is eyeball it and hope for the best. I am a machinist, i dont like to hope for the best, I want it verifiably correct. That said, i haven't had any problems with that part. I love the idea of using that steel pallet for a roll around storage setup. Thanks for that!
I like everything in the barn on wheels makes life easier.
@@ClaremontClassicGarage I only have concrete in my old garage. The rest of the buildings have dirt floors, but mobility in there is priceless.
