They shall be beating the tribal drums to the tune of Bohemian Rhapsody during the coming interregnum after the fall. They shall make toasts amongst themselves with funfun juice fermented from crabapples and powdered mushroom. Toasts to the music gods and faithful ancestors of the long long ago that not only passed the sacred music down to them but gave them as well the gift and duty to worship fat bottom girls.😁

The most tragic thing about the death of freddie mercury wasn't because he died. He was a musical genius. And he took all that with him when he died. He had all that shit left in his head. And we were all robbed of it. He tried to cram so much stuff in the little time he had left. Duet with opera legend montserrat. He recorded up until he couldn't anymore and told the other band member to keep writing stuff. Write me stuff to sing now and you guys can put it all together later. He knew he didn't have much time left.

My 12yo daughter has a logical no nonsense train of thought. When she was in early elementary school & she heard this song, on that line she turned to me, asked me seriously "so why doesn't he just go lie on a railroad track?". 👀.....💬.......I didn't know if I felt scared for her to think like that, or proud of her being so logical, serious, & to have an understanding of the meaning behind his words. 😢 She is an amazing young lady. I feel sorry for the future boys that take an interest in her. They better come correct or she will put them in their place. 😍

I'm a fan of almost every genre of music. In my personal opinion, it doesn't matter what types of music you love or hate, this is one of the greatest, most powerful songs in history. As for the question of "is all their music like this"? Well, yes and no. No, this song is very unique even just looking at Queen. But all of their music was unique and experimental. So in that way, yes. The great thing about Queen was that they did not want to be boxed in by what type of band they were "supposed" to be. They did it all. Without fear.

Indeed but (and thank god for it) they almost always paved they way with rock. So when they did pop it was pop-rock, if they did punk it was punk-rock.
The subtle undertone did 2 important things to me 1, it worked as sort of an inner compass. Just cruising aimlessly among destinations is confusing with this you still knew roughly where you were at while exploring completely new territory and 2) those classic Queen rock beats gives every song an energy that never lets you get bored no matter what genre they were currently exploring.

THIS!! The musicians had to have raw, honest talent. No cheating, no auto tune, nothing. This is why those of us who are older don't have much respect for the newer artists. They rely on technology, not talent. Keep listening, Queen is ridiculously good!!

INFECTED Dissected that’s true but at this point if you’re not using auto tune or any type of computer program to help the music it won’t be considered a polished piece in 2018 which I don’t think is a knock on new artists or really anything that makes old music better, all though in this particular case the song can be considered the best song ever

They made the video so good, spent about 10x the norm, as they knew top of the pops wouldn't play a song that long. And in them days you had a 3h session to prerecorded your nights lip sync performance. As the song is to complex for this, they went all out on the video. And that is what was played. It wasn't untill the last few years of totp that they started having live performances. Iirc the track went down in a live shoot and gave the game away. Probably around the late 90s. By then totp was almost dead anyhow. Due to the 100s of music channels. It was no longer the show it once was.

@@JSSTyger Sadly the majority of people under 30 (my partner included.....until recently) wont know Queen. Unless they are a fan of classic rock which it is classed as now as far as i know. I do really enjoy these videos of people finding out about these critical artists, very entertaining and it somehow warms my heart.

Another band with a big fat Queen influence (but a bigger, fatter Bowie one) is My Chemical Romance. It particularly shows in the guitars, and on "Welcome to the Black Parade" where they appear to have set out to do their own version of Bohemian Rhapsody, three-part slow/fast/slow structure and soaring baroque guitar lines and all.
