+Greenwood4727 As great as Freddie was as a singer he didn't sing it all. Brian May and Roger Taylor were great as well, with Roger being able to sing even higher (which can be heard here clearly, he's that one very high voice). Freddie only did sing everything in live shows, on record everybody except John Deacon was lead vocalist from time to time.

No. They're not. ""We Will Rock You" is a song written by Brian May and recorded by Queen for their 1977 album News of the World. Rolling Stone ranked it number 330 of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time" in 2004, and it placed at number 146 on the Songs of the Century list in 2001. In 2009, "We Will Rock You" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Other than the last 30 seconds containing a guitar solo by May, the song is generally set in a cappella form, using only stomping and clapping as a rhythmic body percussion beat. In 1977, "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions" were issued together as a worldwide top 10 single.[6] Soon after the album was released, many radio stations began playing the songs consecutively and without interruption."
If you honestly did not know Queen, then you've just stumbled upon arguably the best live band ever. They have about as many hits, as there are stars on the Hollywood walk of fame, and you'll find out that you know a lot of their songs, especially, if you ever, even once, been to a sports game. (any sports game) so.. you should have plenty of Queen stuff to discover yet :)
I was a little kid during this time. But I remember hearing this song on the radio one day and was captivated by it. It made me start listening to a lot of their stuff. Unbeknownst to me, my dad already had the album. 😂 My parents divorced early in my life. @@Isleofskye In short, its computer software that 'enhances' your ability to sing-even if if you can't sing. Lol. But Queen used dubovers. Auto tune started in the 90's (I think).
Queen started recording this song August 24, 1975 all the technology we have today did not exist in 1975. The studios of the time only offered 24-track analog tape, it was necessary for the three to overdub themselves many times. Brian May (the guitarist) recalled placing a tape in front of the light and being able to see through it, as the tape had been used so many times. That is what makes this song a masterpiece. Love your reaction. It's great to see people enjoying this song 43 years after it was recorded. It really is a timeless song.
If I ever get married this is already on the playlist for the reception!!! If not all of their stuff!!! Queen was like their own genre, they never fit in a mold so to speak so Freddie Mercury, the singer said screw it I'll make my own!! And they're still relevant after 50 some odd years or something like that!!! He always said, "I'm not going to be a rockstar, I'm going to be a Legend"!!! And he is!! R.I.P. Freddie!! We 💞 you! Brian Mays, The guitar player (Brian Mays) built that very guitar when he was 15yrs old along with his Dad, including the pickups...& still plays it to this day. He also has a Ph.D. in AstroPhysics.
I just discovered all these Queen reaction videos. I just thought you guys should know Bohemian Rhapsody is about someone being accused by their girlfriend of crimes against the relationship and after she pronounces the death sentence, his reaction is "So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye?" and he leaves the relationship. I'm 62, great college music.
That would be Brian May, PhD, CBE. He's a leading authority on 'space dust' and consults with NASA and other world space agencies. And he and his father built that guitar in their garage in the late 60's from scratch and he's played in on every Queen recording and in every Queen concert. Look up Red Special Guitar in RUclips.
If you think *this* is tight, then you need to watch Queen at Live Aid, 1985. They open with "Bohemian Rhapsody", and then go straight into probably the best version of "Radio Ga Ga" they ever did. And then of course there's Freddie's "Dayyyyyy-YO!"...but I won't spoil the whole thing for you. Watch it.
Not only were all members of the band gifted musically but they were pretty good academically. Freddie had a Diploma in Graphic Art from a London College Ealing. Roger Taylor (drummer) has a Batchelor of Science in Biology and studied Dentistry at the London Hospital Medical College. John Deacon(bass) has a 1st Class Honours Degree in Electronics. Brian May(lead guitar) has a PhD and a Doctorate of Astrophysics and recently worked on Stereo Imaging of Pluto at the John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory Maryland. These guys ROCK. "Mama just killed a man...Put a gun against his head pulled my trigger now hes dead." I think this was Freddies allegory about finally coming out and admitting he was gay. Something not easy to do back in the day. He killed the pretend straight guy(himself) and that guy was finished for good now and he wasn't sure and was worried of his mothers reaction to the news.
I agree.....I did pre-face my comment with "I think" ...to show that this was just my opinion and my own interpretation. I am well aware that no band member has EVER given an explanation of the meaning of the song. Been a fan of this great band ever since hearing "Seven Seas of Rhye"on the BBCs popular Top of the Pops programme back in the 70s.
Forever grateful my brother took me to see them live at age 13. Thousands of people at the concert. Everyone got along. All cleaned up after themselves. It waz AMAZING.
I can almost bet anything that anyone in the world would think that the song is talking about his mom killing somebody lol after you heard the song over 100 times then you'll know he's not talking bout that , but listening for the first time idk how people can really blame people for misunderstanding the lyrics . People listening to music , but not everyone is gonna understand off the first listen especially without lyrics displayed on screen .
Hi Chance, I can see why you might think that, but it’s the following lines that tell you it wasn’t his mom. He sings: “...life had just begun, but now I’VE gone and thrown it all away.” And the next line: “didn’t mean to make you cry.” He’s addressing his mother.
The most impressive part of this video, everything that sounds like an effect on the singers voice was made by himself, He was so pitch accurate he could sing the same part a note lower making it sound like a harmony
Queen did the soundtrack for the first "The Highlander" movie. "It's a kind of magic", "who wants to live forever", and "princes of the universe" will rock you.
Allen Saunders That isn't a reasonably confirmed fact. Of course none of it is, but we have to view it at face value. The lyrics on the surface describe a man confessing to murder, leaving to serve hiw punishment, facing a trial, and being sent somewhere where he tries to fight off but ultimately fails and accepts fate. On the surface, this can easily either describe Prison or Hell.
Allen Saunders Roger Taylor said no such thing. He claimed he knew nothing of it, and if he did, he wouldn't say anything if Freddie didn't want him to.
@@TheBlackQueen look believe what you want i wouldn't even think it's about murder snd Taylor did say that he said isn't it obvious freddies coming out
I love this song, and it's such a joy that there are people who've never heard this song before who can record their reactions to hearing it for the first time. Music today is also still good, but this is just a classic and it's such a treat to see people hearing it for the first time.
Queen has album after album of heat. As diverse a band as any to have graced this Earth. You have no doubt heard several Queen songs without realizing it. We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions and Another One Bites the Dust are 3 songs that you might already know.
I like how you're set up differently from other reaction videos. You have yourself small, in the corner and the video taking up the screen. I love that! But you have the volume down so low I could hardly hear it.
Great react. In response to the vocal parts question... Bass: Lowest, almost always men Tenor: The higher end of the low spectrum, usually men Alto: The lower end of the high spectrum, usually women Soprano: Highest line, almost always women You can also add stuff like molto or mezzo to make more variants, and baritone is somewhere between bass and tenor. You can also do basso profundo, deep bass. :D
This is a complex song. Freddie never publicly admitted to what this was about. The drummer (Roger Taylor) has said it is "pretty obvious", and most of us think it is Freddie coming out as Bi/gay.
it certainly resonates that way with many of us who have struggled internally with the question of coming out as LGBT to our parents, traditional/religious ones especially. the metaphor seems obvious
Why are you ignoring freddies own description? Its not a coming out song. Its an ode to Fausto and was made upof a bunch of different songs Freddie was working on. Freddie never came out, He never needed to. He also wasn't gay. He loved the ladies just as much. Do some research ffs
SpotFest….As a gay man I saw Freddie often in a gay club near me (he was quite unassuming, not at all big headed). His ex-girlfriend Mary Austin even told him that she thought he was gay. It was pretty common in those days to try to maintain a false front. It may have been that he and Mary had sex, but it's also perfectly possible that it was a relationship based on mutual need and respect rather than on sex. There is no doubt that thy were extremely close. I've seen plenty of interviews with Freddie where he teasingly plays with the gay stereotype and it's also true that his final relationship was with a man.
Oh no doubt about it but people over look the fact he was also attracted to woman. He was married to a man in his final years but that guy got a straight 1 million from Freddie's will as opposed to the hundred million Mary Austin got, She also got his estate. He said many times that she was the love of his life. He also had many relationships with woman over the years. I think its insulting to Freddie to say he was gay, He was a man that loved all that was beautiful be that men, women, art or music. He was so much more than this gay stereotype that he has became.
@@spotfest7266 he might have been gay but biromantic. BTW could you please point me to a source for the description Freddie supposedly gave? I've never heard of that one.
Loved your reaction 💜 I just subscribed....so many great Queen songs..The Show Must Go On, Another One Bites the Dust, Who Wants to Live Forever, We Will Rock You, Don't Stop Me Now... Save Me is a beautiful song...the list goes on and on
No autotune here, this is all Queen. Song is over 40 years old. Freddie Mercury had a 4 octave voice and was able to create subtle echos when singing. This is what real talent sounds like.
The version of Radio GaGa at Live Aid is considered one of the finest musical performances ever captured. Their entire set was amazing, but the crowd control Freddie had during Radio GaGa was simply magical.
@@kennethhargrove3597 just because some people say you are supposed to believe that doesn't mean you have to agree radio gaga is not a great queen song
I never said that it's their best song, I said that it's one of the greatest live performances ever captured. No one captivated an audience like Freddie.
THANK GOODNESS!! I’m not the only one!! I’m 54 years old. I have been a Queen fan since forever. All these years I’ve thought Freddie was saying that “Mama killed a man”. I only recently realized that he was TELLING mama that he killed a man. If the lyrics were “Hey Mama (pause), just killed a man”. So glad I am not the only person to “hear” it like that. 😀
They pants was toight. The funny thing is, you're probably already heard a bunch of their stuff, or at least parts of it. We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, Another One Bites the Dust, Somebody to Love, Under Pressure, I Want to Break Free, You'll probably recognize them from sports, movies and commercials. I also recommend The Show Must Go On.
I'm loving how the movie has brought out new fans!!!!! I have been listening to queen since I was little in the 80s. I know Freddie would love to know how the new generations are loving him too!!! I am loving these reactions of everyone when it hits overdrive hahaaahhaaha
Nice reaction - fun fact, his was the 1st song to have a music video! I guarantee you will know some Queen without realizing it - we will rock you, we are the champions etc. If you want more heat, check out Innuendo with lyrics - it's deeper than this one. If you want something fun - Somebody to Love - live in Montreal version is best.
I know it’s been called the first ever music video, but it’s hard to actually define these things,” shrugged May. “I know for a fact the Beatles made 35mm films of tracks - but ours was more like a mini-movie.” Read More: The Story of Queen's Iconic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Video | ultimateclassicrock.com/queen-bohemian-rhapsody-video/?trackback=tsmclip
His mama didn't pull the trigger, he did. Queen is known to be one of the most intelligent bands, ever. Brian May was working towards his PhD in Astronomy when Queen first started out.
Hey dude, everyone was skinny in the 70's, no junk food, no GMO, no fluoride in the water. Lots more Queen please. Somebody to love, Old fashioned lover boy, Love of my life. The greatest band of all time. Peace & love from England
Your cute! When different people sing different parts it’s called “harmonizing”. 🤗🤗🤗 PS - biggest Queen fan but you had me laughing through the whole video! 😂 And, since I needed a laugh today and your personality is awesome, bruh, I just subbed!!!
A lot of people don't know that Freddie Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara in Zanzibar, Africa to a Zoroastrian practising family of Parsi descent which basically means they were from India but their ancestors were from Persia present day Iran. Mercury's father worked for the British Colonial Office in India and had moved to Zanzibar to continue working but when Civil War had broken out they used their British Citizenship to move to England. In a way it makes Mercury African, Asian and European.
Harmonies = singing together at different vocal levels - Bass (lowest), Baritone, Tenor, Alto, Soprano (highest).Yes, Queen had some great Harmonies. So did the Bee Gees, the Beach Boys and the Beatles.
I think what you were looking for at about 3:16 was the word Alto. In a nutshell that corresponds to how high or low you sing. From highest to lowest it goes Soprano, Alto, Tenner, and Baritone. It can get more complicated than that with things Mezzo Soprano, but the basics are those four. Hope this helps.
IF this song was played at a wedding, they'd have to stop the ceremony until it finished because EVERYONE would be singing it (it's a fun song!), to include bride, groom and minister! Bohemian Rhapsody came out in 1975 or so, and has been a rock music classic ever since. An incredibly talented band ! Suggestion - I suggest you react to "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver" by the band Primus. It's a funny song with a hilarious video. You can watch it for free on youtube.
Queen reaction? Instant sub! There are so many Queen songs that are incredible, they are all great singers, there are a few songs sung by Roger Taylor (the drummer) that are amazing (I'm in Love With My Car, for example), it's wild to watch him singing the song live while playing the drums as ell as he does. There are also a ton of songs that are awesome that sometimes get overlooked, "Death On Two Legs" (allegedly about their management), "Tenement Funster", actually I don't think there is a bad Queen song.
Yooo this is the first vid I’ve seen of yours and instantly subscribed after that chicken bit. This is so good, if you like Queen then boi you got a whole lotta good songs coming your way. If you wanna do another reaction vid to them I recommend Under Pressure at Wembley Stadium. Freddie Mercury controls a crowd of 72,000 people like it ain’t nothing. Son I’m jealous that you get to listen to all of this for the first time, Queen was my shit growing up and still is today!
It came out in 1975 on Queen's fourth studio album, A Night at the Opera. The lyric "Mama, just killed a man" does sound a little ambiguous but it's really meant to mean "Mama, I just killed a man". He did the killing, not his mom. It's hard to tell by the way he sings it, but there's technically a comma after "Mama".
The album "A Night at the Opera" came out in 1976 and "Bohemian Rhapsody" was one of the tracks on it. There is no autotune at all on this track, or any other by Queen, the vocal effects you hear are over dubs, sometimes many, many times over. While listening to this on vinyl or tape or CD or digital gives you a sense of their true talent, it pales in comparison to hearing it live. Only a small section of this song cannot be reproduced live, the "Mama Mia" section, where the stage went dark and they leave for that minute or so as the studio recording plays. I did get the chance to see them live, twice, at Madison Square Garden in 1980 & 1982.
you just listened to the greates rock band of all time and the greates rock vocalist that ever was....this song was released in the USA in 1976 and is one of queens most iconic songs....NO such thing as autotune back in the day ....what you heard is 100 percent talent
Here’s a good list of their songs: -Don’t stop me now -radio Gaga -we will rock you -we are the champions -under pressure -another one bites the dust -fat bottomed girls -I want to break free -Somebody to love -crazy little thing called love -killer queen And they have so much more good music! I honestly don’t think I’ve ever heard a queen song that I don’t like.

Hi Chance, I can see why you might think that, but it’s the following lines that tell you it wasn’t his mom. He sings: “...life had just begun, but now I’VE gone and thrown it all away.” And the next line: “didn’t mean to make you cry.” He’s addressing his mother.
@@meemee6089 Indeed - plus he sings "pulled MY trigger" - why would his mother pull his trigger?...
"Tell mama to calm down."
LMAO
This is my favourite song of all time. I must have played it thousands of times since 1975.😀
Great Reaction!! I really miss the 70's music from Back from the 70's.
The most impressive part of this video, everything that sounds like an effect on the singers voice was made by himself, He was so pitch accurate he could sing the same part a note lower making it sound like a harmony
fairly convinced that Freddie brought bolero jackets back in style during that period in time
I'm sorry I've only just seen this. But it was an honour to see you react to this. You sir have now got my subcribtion..thank you. X
You were not ready for Queen indeed and you never will.
Queen is amazing you should react to some of their other songs "don't stop me now" "somebody to love" and their live performances (live aid concert)
Kiki Love 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The phrase "Mama, just killed a man" is a faint reference to Freddie being gay... he killed his man-self and a gay person was reborn
Queen did the soundtrack for the first "The Highlander" movie. "It's a kind of magic", "who wants to live forever", and "princes of the universe" will rock you.
'Tell Momma to calm down...Momma goin' crazy!' Too funny....love it!
"Mama, I just killed a man"
He came out to his mother as being a gay man.
Dope reaction, congrats on reaching 1k 🤘🏽
Loved your reactions & much respect for keeping Queen alive!!! My fav band of all time :)
It's not the mother, it's the narrator who killed a man. When he say's that line, he's telling his mother that he killed someone.
Metaphor nobody killed anybody even fictionally
Allen Saunders That isn't a reasonably confirmed fact. Of course none of it is, but we have to view it at face value. The lyrics on the surface describe a man confessing to murder, leaving to serve hiw punishment, facing a trial, and being sent somewhere where he tries to fight off but ultimately fails and accepts fate.
On the surface, this can easily either describe Prison or Hell.
@@TheBlackQueen thats your complete guess queens drummer said its about freddie coming out as gay i don't know but i tske alot of lyrics as metaphors
Bass: Lowest, almost always men
Tenor: The higher end of the low spectrum, usually men
Alto: The lower end of the high spectrum, usually women
Soprano: Highest line, almost always women
You can also add stuff like molto or mezzo to make more variants, and baritone is somewhere between bass and tenor. You can also do basso profundo, deep bass. :D
How old? 1975
Gareth Thomas soo... Bohemian Rhapsody is 1975 years old? Damn.
If you're a so-called musician today hearing this for the first time you must be unbelievably humbled.
That intro was just freddy ,,five over dubs
lol I just typed that jinx
Shelia pugh you ow me a six pack
This is why your teachers always snickered when you tried to answer in class.
It's true look it up
Freddie :)
I've watched several reactions to Bohemian Rhapsody. I've had the most fun watching YOUR reaction! Funny!
Awesome, I would recommend "Under Pressure" and "Radio Gaga", both are live at Wembley...awesome...Freddie has the crowd in the palm of his hand
Both stink early queen epic
I don't recommend listening to the live version of songs. The studio version of Under Pressure is way better than any live version
Hi from Utah, USA... I just subscribed.. Mama didn't kill the man, it was the guy tlknig to her that did it. The song ws written in 1975.. Epic song
Hey fellow Utahn! 😀
It's 1978, cruising the strip in your hometown. This song comes on. Let the headbanging begin!
I was 7 when this song was released, I'm 50 now so its 43 years old,
i was 17 when it was released
Hahaha your reaction 😂👍🏻 never gets old listening to Queen and Freddie Mercury 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Have to admit....that was one funny reaction :-)) Good Job!!
Sorry, wasn't first. But helped popularize music video in a big way.
I know it’s been called the first ever music video, but it’s hard to actually define these things,” shrugged May. “I know for a fact the Beatles made 35mm films of tracks - but ours was more like a mini-movie.”

This song was from 75, so over 43 years ago. I am so glad I was raised in the era of what people call classic rock today.
Freddie and Queen will live on in every new generation, and noone deserves it more!
His mama didn't pull the trigger, he did. Queen is known to be one of the most intelligent bands, ever. Brian May was working towards his PhD in Astronomy when Queen first started out.
I love the reactions to Queen. Welcome to the fan club. Freddie worked his Magic.
PS - biggest Queen fan but you had me laughing through the whole video! 😂
And, since I needed a laugh today and your personality is awesome, bruh, I just subbed!!!
RIP FREDDIE, ALWAYS LOVE FROM OZ
Queen had more hits that people had no idea it was Queen... one of the all time great bands ever.
70's rock glam. we were all skinny back in the day, 70's & 80's. Rock on!
“Big Judy”... I spat out my milk at that 😂
Dude u crackin me up n I really wanna listen n I cannot HEAR u when I'm cracking up, like my coffee just went spewing everywhere...
1975 This Came Out..I Was 5,lol...and Still Love This Song As Much As I Did As A Child
Harmonies = singing together at different vocal levels - Bass (lowest), Baritone, Tenor, Alto, Soprano (highest).Yes, Queen had some great Harmonies. So did the Bee Gees, the Beach Boys and the Beatles.
I like the way you have the video large and yourself smaller. Everyone else does it the other way. Thanks for that. ✌
Bohemian Rhapsody has hit #1 on the charts 3 times in 3 different decades!
I laughed so much when you said "deep throat people" and immediately realized the error! hahahahahahaha
March of the Black Queen!
Queen is definitely one of the best rock bands ever i don't think there is ever going to be rock bands as good as this ever again legendary
i think you were searching for the word Harmony. they have perfect harmonies.
This song was released on October 30, 1975
It is the #2 song of ALL-TIME on FM Radio.
It was released Oct 31st 1975 ...Best sing EVER!!!, I Love Freddie Soooo much! R.I.P FREDDIE MERCURY 😢🙏🏽💔 🎤 🎼
60's - 70's music was on a whole different level compared to today's music.
43 years old. No auto fune. Pure vocals
All kinds of classic rr performances. Will blow your mind how good.
I did get the chance to see them live, twice, at Madison Square Garden in 1980 & 1982.
great essay bro its too long to read but ill give you an A. you really know alot about this group good job.
Queen- We are the champions
Love your reaction, Queen best music ever and Fredy best singer for all time
Queen is awesome and Freddie Mercury made them who they are... RIP Freddie Mercury
you just listened to the greates rock band of all time and the greates rock vocalist that ever was....this song was released in the USA in 1976 and is one of queens most iconic songs....NO such thing as autotune back in the day ....what you heard is 100 percent talent
Haha! Great reaction. The skinny clothes comments. That was the entertainment look! And no most people couldn't fit ether. Good job.
1975. I would sing this song all the time, and I was 4 years old!
Here’s a good list of their songs:
-Don’t stop me now
-radio Gaga
-we will rock you
-we are the champions
-under pressure
-another one bites the dust
-fat bottomed girls
-I want to break free
-Somebody to love
-crazy little thing called love
-killer queen
And they have so much more good music! I honestly don’t think I’ve ever heard a queen song that I don’t like.
Lol whatever wedding plays this is awesome. I will play this at my wedding
next watch "somebody to love" live in Montreal. His vocal range and swag is unmatched
Listen to “another one bites the dust”
