    I would love to have a NAO robot in my home.
    I am building a few humanoid robots right now.
    One just under 3 ft tall and the other life size.
    Right now they can talk, see and hear. I hope to get them both walking and doing useful tasks.

    There's nothing ethically challenging of using tools to make our lives easier and in as much as an android is, is a tool then there is nothing ethically wrong about the role these machines will take in society. The problem as I see it is the depersonalization where they become prevalent we see that in the automation of factories and customer service. People have had a hard time adjusting but as you can see a generation passes and we adjust just fine.

    Despite my name, you left the most important part of what would make these robot clones THE MOST DANGEROUS : when these androids are able to think on their own with very high level AI (Artificial Intelligence, to where they can wont need human operator), I wont say HOW these androids override the programming, Anybody knowing computers already knows the answer, its only matter of time with acceleration of technology

    That's the way. Introduce the NAO robot at 57 cm, distribute it, and then release the 57 meter version to take over the world! ;)

    Computers are getting twice as fast every 2 years, but making them think is not an easy task. Human thought is very complex and includes an imagination that machines may never have. We can make up new ideas out of nothing invent new things and imagine what if.

    Work is already being done on augmenting technologies that can help out the elderly and disabled instead of the robotics shown here. One common example is this link: /watch?v=ElwxahDXXqo
    Hugh Herr's work--in addition to exoskeletons--,for example, also extends into the bionic and later cybernetic devices with a goal of removing the issue of disabilities from aging, birth defects, accidents, and ect. /watch?v=KfRP9C9oWac

    no not Baxter Baxter is to big and bulky Baxter is terrifying to the general public and for a Industrial place it doesn't need a face the robots already used in factorys dont have a face and they work fine though with Baxter the move to program idea is really cool almost no robots do that I think Nao would be a much better robot if his price was lower maybe 16k for the full size version i can go build one with lego for $300

    Let's face it. So far, we have produced artificial intelligence with an awareness about equal to that of a cockroach. (feed, hide, explore, learn a little) It will be a long LONG time before we are able to have something much more advanced, like maybe a small rodent - unless we get a breakthrough in, say, quantum computing. It is said that a dog knows. But a human KNOWS they know!

    but having an android living life for you while you sit at home and do nothing, just get older, sort of defeats the purpose of life, why live if someone else is experiencing your success, failures, and accomplishment, I'm just stating what the guy said about having your android going out in the real world for you....I'm scared!!

    I think if you want people to accept androids, you need to stop making them look too human. Once you have the technology to make them look realistic like Data from TNG then sure. But i'd be perfectly happy with an android that looked like Sonny (iRobot) C3PO (Starwars), or maybe not make them humanoid at all, like Glados (portal1&2) or the Autopilot from Walle

    Genesis 1:26
    And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness;
    Revelation 13:15
    And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
    Don't like, it go tell it to your father satan.

      Isaiah 46:10 KJV
      DECLARING THE END FROM THE BEGINNING, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
      What do we find at the beginning.
      Genesis 1:1 KJV
      In the BEGINNING Elohim created the heaven and the earth.
      ((In the beginning (Genesis) we find the creation days. So how do the creation days declare the end (Revelation)))
      RFID chip and the image of the beast.
      It is man creating a robot in his image. Like Elohim creating us in his. Be it woman or man
      Genesis 1:26 KJV
      And Elohim said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
      (And man said let us make robot in are image, after are likeness:)
      Revelation 13:15 KJV
      And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
      (This image that man has created could not be with out the computer. For it is the computer that made it all possible)
      Revelation 13:16 KJV
      And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
      (Anyone that takes the RFID chip will worship the image of the beast. And the RFID chip could not be without the computer. All part of the image of the beast!)

    This seems to be just an excuse to be even lazier and pathetic. work on maintaining strong bones and good health through diet and exercise into old age and we wont be completely helpless.

      What's 'this' Ben? Robotics? Robotics isn't going to make us weak. TV and fast food are. Robotics is the future.

    • @timbradshaw7645
      @timbradshaw7645 10 лет назад

      Will free energy technology be a threat to human progress as well? Has the problem of people being lazy been the fault of technology? No, laziness is a product of the corrupt system that suppresses the technology that could help us be healthier, have better exercise, and help us live longer ....when the person is done doing a meaningless job that a robot could do they are stressed (stress that shortens life) and they want to be lazy ...but if a robot replaces them of the job , why would the person be automatically lazy and pathetic and not maintain their own health ?? .this is the way of thinking that is preferred by those who wish to perpetuate a system that keeps humans as assets and slaves...So, we should do away with this technology because all humans will be lazy if they don't have to pay to live on this planet ? ..Why insist on one single prototype of pathetic laziness for our great grandchildren's human nature ? ..but, yes, the natural capacity to allow robots to replace the lower class's labor while not being lazy and improving quality of life exists outside of the present subjective cultural environment ...the future will be stronger if we unite in our efforts to upgrade our environment to the most scientifically objective state possible that is conducive to our well being ...it will be completely helpless with Meek submissive assumptions

    • @TheNathanWinkler
      @TheNathanWinkler 10 лет назад

      Solar Egyptian
      I do agree i made a pretty rash comment haha looking back on it. Robotics wont make as lazy but relying on it for the majority of certain tasks will. i just don't necessarily agree with making robots human like. seems too over the top and creepy haha will lead to a strange mentality in users.
      Though free energy and the like isn't in the same category of technology as robotics either. aint dissing that. 'Nikola Tesla' all the way!!
      It is a great idea you mention to have the lower class employment replaced by robots. but then there would still be the aspect of having less jobs available and an increasing population. as much as we all want financial issues to disappear, they will always exist, as long as we have the systems that we do in our way. or a complete paradigm shift occurs. which i havent witnessed in the general public just yet but maybe someday.
