Condo Trees Story: The Condo Board should have been Charging the Families of the Kids for the cost of replacing the destroyed Trees...
If I was OP, I'd be telling the Board that I will NOT be paying any Fees or Special Assessments related to replacing the Trees because the Board knows exactly who is doing the damage and is Legally Required to Charge them and them ONLY...if the Board still tries to charge all the Families for the damage caused by the kids, then I'd call a Lawyer and Sue the Unholy Howling HELL out of the Board as well as File for a Restraining Order (STOP DAMAGING THE TREES DANG IT!!!) against the kids and their Parents...
When the kids started hacking at my tree chanting "KILL THE TREE!", I'd grab my cell phone to start recording them while using my Landline to call 911 and when I'm finished with the 911 call, I'd call my lawyer back to file another Lawsuit against the kids and their Parents for Criminal Trespass, Vandalism and Destruction of Property and if they did permanent damage to the Tree, I'd add that to the Lawsuit under Tree Law...

Moved cart story: And the fact that there ARE cameras everywhere nowadays is likely the only reason OP didn't get punched.
Facebook contest story: Unfortunately, in this day and age if you see anything like this being promoted on social media you've got to either assume it's a scam or at least check it out with the "partner" being promoted to see if it's legit.
Bridge story: I'd think I'd be considering taking the city or whatever to court if they enacted a new regulation AFTER you bought the property and began renovations because it sounds like you were specifically targeted.
Tree story: That's just sad that the ENTIRE COMMUNITY was paying to replace trees that these kids killed and the condo board allowed it. More reasons to not live in a HOA or COA.
That cop clearly didn't know the law if the condo story was in the US. You can video whomever or whatever you want in public spaces and you don't need anyone's permission or consent. That's why it's called public.
Probably one of those fairy tales.
That last one was not malicious compliance at all,,, unless you count the near-total victory of the parents with completely undisciplined bratlings.
Not filming children, filming a tree being vandalized by unsupervised juvenile delinquents.

Last story: Should have told the parents and the association to suck it. You were filming the tree, not the kids.
She wasn't filming kids she was filming vandals, and the irony of being told off for giving evidence of property being destroyed.

Last story, looking to site the association for the fees they are charging everyone for damages caused by people that they knew exactly who they were and doing nothing to stop them while passing the cost to fix it off onto you. Not sure how during of a case you could have over it but it certainly sounds like a way to claw back money they took from you for things your neighbors did deliberately.
AS others have pointed out if the condo story happened in the US you can film who ever what ever you want in public/ open spaces as long as you are legally allowed to be where you are filming from
All the other home owners should refuse to pay for the damages done by those brats. Make the parents pay. When its their responsibilty and money they eill stop.
How rich do you have to be to buy an island? Then while brainstorming a bridge the OP casually suggests a 400-foot yacht to bridge the gap? Mind you 400 feet is 7.5x a semi-trailer or 5.3 semitrucks with trailer.

400 feet apart? That’s 1 1/3 football fields, you’re damn sure gonna need some center support. 40 feet I could understand.
Yeah I get super pissed every time I go to my Walmart. It's a smaller Walmart so you get the entrance and exits combined within like 25 ft so if you leave your cart there it'll pile up quickly that it'll pretty much block you out of the exit. I end up having to put them away and getting new carts put into when they get low. Then leaving carts randomly in the lobby makes it a very dangerous situation in cases of fire or if somebody needs to get around to the other side of the store fast.

2-Wow, just wow. OCD gone crazy. 400'? depends on if you wanted to drive cars or trucks over it then it definitely would need pilings/center supports. Love the pontoon boat story! So, the HOA board is replacing the trees damaged by a resident and charging all the community members? Lawyer up time. The HOA, if they know who is damaging the trees, is responsible to the community at large to make the perpetrators pay for the damage. Nope, you cannot be prevented video taping someone damaging property. Again lawyer up.

The last one, I’d have gone after the kids, parents and the HOA and sued all of em and taught them all a lesson in property rights. I’d have gone further but can’t say what I’d have done cause of snowflakes that can’t handle anything.
I posted the video of the kids hacking at the tree saying these are Satan kids.
I would have challenged the board and I would sue them for wasting my money. Cuz if they're going to allow these kids to destroy the trees don't expect me to pay for it.
