From Go To Whoa! Time Lapse Gypsy Wagon Build - From Go To Whoa There Horsey!

- How it started to how it ended. A time lapse of my Australian, traditionally inspired, Gypsy Wagon build. With a basic, overall, wide vision in my head, I just got to work making it up as I went along, using secondhand and new materials/products and challenging my imagination to bring it all together.
Imagination and determination is the key folks. Using those two traits, you can do anything you want. get to it!
Stay well folks,
Mark.
You're creating a work of art like the "Mona Lisa" on wheels ! 👍👍🙏

I Agee! What a Masterpiece 👍🏻🤙🏼
Ist verry verry great
I'm stunned. I'm going to fix popcorn and watch this again! This is art. Amazing skill.
I want it.🎉
Oh, and let's not overlook the fact that this is excellent production.
I'm retired radio/tv. I'm very impressed on multiple levels.
It just may be....magic!
@Paparoxx Thanks Jimmy, glad you enjoyed it 🙂
I made campfire popcorn last weekend. Turned out a treat 👍
You are a creative genius. My inspirational hero. I have seen a lot of gypsy build videos, but only the beautiful Aussies could show us how it's rightly done. Loved the lion gutter spitters. Lol. Functional yet dramatic. The front door and screen door made me want to melt from beauty. When you cut that marble sink, I was on the edge of my seat. It was like watching a plastic surgery on a girl whose already pretty. Lol. But, you are a genius, so I eventually learned to trust the method to your madness. Loved the hide away screens on windows. And you were so compassionate to shape that dinner table. I hate hard edged. Hit too many of them in my time. Lol. Loved you air guitar and drumming work. You are a classy, down to earth act, all in one. Just subscribed. Can't wait to watch more. Greetings from Cajun land South Louisiana. Ps. I pray you get your log cabin soon enough. I would build a big one, and park your gypsy wagon in the living room But, that's just me. Ok. Enough chin wagging here. Later, later❤😊
Quite the write up, glad you enjoyed it Harlan. All the best 🙂
Definitely Genius! And the COMMITMENT!!! 😮
That wagon is BEAUTIFUL 💖
Unbelievable. You are really skilled.
Great job. It's beautiful. It's the nicest Gypsy wagon I've seen.
Thank you Shelley 🙂
As a child i read books like the box car children. I always wanted to run away and live in a box car at the edge of the woods. Then pne simmer my aunts came to visit and told stories about the gypsies that pulled their wagons with horses up to their farm and lived there for the summer. My father was 4 - 8 and during those summers he spent most. Off the day ,as soonn as his chores were done. I envied his childhood.
Tthe gypsies repaired tools for houses and farms. And gleened the fields. They taught him many things. And my uncles started doing carpentry with them.
I LOVE THIS BUILD...
@marjoriejohnson6535 Yes it's a shame that some elements and methods of lifestyle of times long past don't exist anymore. I guess technically they still do, but so modernised that the 'romanticism ' of those ways is lost. Of course that's not to say life was generally easier in those times, it just wasn't as scrutinised or regulated so much. Try pulling a modern car and caravan up beside a farm now and staying for a few months! There'd be cops, fines etc.!
@@RedPathRambler I would l I ve it if a Gardner pulled in with campers and did my garden...he looked i definitely would feed for the summer...
thank you sir it was a pleasure watching you build this i love the old gypsy style caravans i wish i could go back to living in a old gypsy caravan god bless you sir lots of love to Australia from great Britain
Glad you enjoyed it Jason. 🙂
I do live in a traditional English "ledge"waggon. Have done since 2017. You'd have to give up a lot of home comforts ..... but you could do it.
So many wonderful details. Love the water spoits, the colors, bits and peices of things taken to make this wonderful wagon.
Thank you Judy, glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
I thought that being a gypsy wagon, it should have a lot of different, bright & contrasting colors! But then, I for one, wouldn't care for it😢! I Love the way he turned this wagon out, it's Beautiful! I couldn't have done any of the things he did, but if I were asked for any suggestions, I would have said more insulation between the two floors & canvas roll out awnings on either or both sides, with painted on scenery, of course (perhaps a dancing lady decked in finery & her band of gypsy men playing the music) ❤❤❤❤
Just perfect! Absolutely gorgeous ❤️
Just when I thought it couldn’t get any more beautiful, he pimps it up! Just when I thought it couldn’t get any more perfect, he’s put in folding cup shelves.
That was a light bulb above the head moment. 🙂
Absolutely wonderful! Well done 👏
Nothing short of amazing. Nicely done. Thank you for this.
What a talented guy. I only wish I had half is talent .thank you for a fantastic 30 minutes of viewing. God bless. 😊
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
This has inspired me to buy an 1850's dilapidated wagon and ATTEMP to follow your lead to build a Vardo for my two precious tiny granddaughters to play in (and me!!!) 🤩 I'm SO EXCITED!!!
Go for it! 🙂
I'm too old now, bad health, but I saw an old ragged boat on the side of the road & thought "Wouldn't that have been a great project to do with my husband and two sons back when they were younger!??? To prop it up & build it into a pirateship play structure? With super soaker water guns, a crow's nest with netting to climb up & a zip line to come down! It could have bunk beds inside a cabin for sleepovers! Propped up inside of a sandbox with a plank swing & rope net for boarding! With everyone working on it, I'm sure there would be new ideas daily😂!!! (But I wasted my youth, working for a living in a city, instead of working for a life worth living😢) oh well... Live your dreams so there're fewest regrets ❤!
@@marshawargo7238 that truly sounds amazing 🤩
❤ Beautiful little wanderer. You put such craftsmanship in. I loved the pretty bobbles and the authentic look of beg borrowed and bartered items. Bravo!! Something that I've wanted also.

The new owners will be setting it up as an air'b&b, so the perfect place to read, nap or knit. 🙂
Fantastic result from a very talented man.
@@0ldvids Thank you. 🙂
Supercool you make new from old furniture❤😊 and you do it very well🎉
I have always wanted a gypsy wagon. I watched your video while keeping in mind how I would design one and at every step it was like you were reading my mind! Of course the bed had to be elevated! Of course there had to be a wee wood burner and a table under the bed. Shelving under the table. The door had to be split in 2 but I thought at first you weren't going to do that. Surprised! You did!! And teal is one of my favorite colors. Lion water spouts - I collected lions for years. OMG, this is just so perfect and spot on for my wagon's design. Lucky you. It's perfect and I wish you many happy travels.
@@PurpleSurple I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🙂

❤As a child, i had a recurrent dream that i lived in a "roulotte" like this one. It is a blessing to be gifted with such talented craftmanship. It would take me a year just to measure and cut. In another life that is 😅. I slowed down the video to better appreciate the details of this beautiful work. Thank you so much for sharing 🙏🤗💜💫
Thanks for watching. 🙂
A lot more of that detail in the series episodes, should you feel inclined of course. 🙂

Not only his design & workmanship❤, but the filming & background music 🎶too!!! Great Build & Great Video 🎉!!!
I hope he pours a pad, even if it's only wide enough for the wheels to be on, to protect them from rot & bugs. Or gets an inspection to be road worthy & takes her on a voyage (her choice) across the continent! Might need a bigger water tank though ❤!
Wow this video of this man building a gypsy caravan is doing an awesome job of building it on his farm.Nice to see what it will look like when it is fully built

That would be cool to see Brenda. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Best Vardo build I’ve seen on RUclips!
@user-uv2pk2jx9s Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
My favorite part is that you repurposed all of that furniture. The headboard as a table impressed me, but the sink! Such creativity! I loved the seats on the porch. I am sure you will use them all of the time. I thought for sure you were going to bring in a horse to pull it. I'm just wondering how top-heavy it is? Beautiful work, especially in the exterior decoration.
@Kammy44 Thank you Kammy, glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
The repurposing of things is probably the most fun part, making things work. It handled the short journey across the paddock very well. Pretty much all the weight is low at floor level and below. Sadly though, I have since sold the wagon.
@@RedPathRambler The creativity is in the making! I bet you will just make something else great!
Very very nice job looking very good!!!👌👍💯

I’m in love. I realized through watching this that I could fall in love with a man who has such passion. Not only the woodworking but your keen eye and planning of the videography. I’m sure this was a hobby, and you planned and executed ALL this probably while working full time and being present for your family. That’s the kind of man I see myself sharing a life with. Thank you for showing me/ us your heart 💜 ❤!
Thank you Tina. Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
There was sporadic work in and around the wagon build, but mostly I chose ( probably not the best financial decision ), to not earn while over spending what I had! As a result, I'm almost back to full time work to make up for it! It is a hobby...a very enjoyable one...I'm still trying to work out how to make financially rewarding. 🙂
Beautiful work and looks like a nice place to “just be”.

If you love Gypsy Caravans then enter the world of Yorkie Greenwood Of Northumberland England Builder and painter of Gypsy Caravans most amazing skills of art work
Legend has it this man bought 2 oxen hooked them up to his wagon an is now a drifting gypsy 😂.nice build dude
I have over 40 years in building those romanyy caravans and to be honest it's OK for armature build that depicts what a horse drawn caravan looks like. Being from romany back ground myself i take up 6months in just the carving of the wood before the build starts. It's a long process up to 3years depending on the customer specifications. I only use hand tools to complete the jobs. Little tip you need to add gold leaf to the under carriage to set it of.
Thanks for watching. Well, it was never to be an attempt at building a traditional one. I had neither the time, money or skill to attempt the real thing, hence my traditionally inspired approach. I've since sold the wagon, and hopefully the new owners will put their own stamp on it. 🙂
